Great pub! New owners definitely made a difference. We decided to give it another go last week and OMG! I was stunned! The food is amazing (small plate style, so you can try a bit of everything) the garden looks stunning and has so many screens for sports lovers, inside is clean and team is friendly and attentive! Love!

Hope and anchor is my new regular go to spot. Me and my friends are frequent flyers to the pub quiz and the sunday roasts just hit the spot when recovering from a saturday night. Not to mention the MASSIVE beer garden with countless tvs For when my friends fancy watching some rugby too 🥳

Best pub in Brixton following the re-opening. A clear effort being made and you must get down there for the roasts. We had a roast in front of the football in the huts and there's not many better ways to spend a Sunday!

We had a Christmas do in the newly refurbished upstairs. Our tables were decorated nicely. The staff were friendly and attentive. Would recommend highly.

Have you been mis-sold chicken wings… considering this is in Brixton, this is a crime to the local community. Absolutely flavourless fried wings advertised as “Jerk Chicken.” Five wings for £9, an absolute rip off. Do not recommend.

Liked the old version but love it even more since the refurb and come more often! Very different vibe and great decoration - now more of a classic English pub one - but sometimes change is good :-) Very spacious place ans a big beer garden. Friendly staff and fantastic food! We have already tried and loved a few of the snacks and mains and will come back for the Sunday roast! Definitely recommend!

Staff were accommodating to my request and made sure it was all good. The refurbishment also looks great!

Since the refurb Hope & Anchor hasn’t been the same. All the lovely familiar faces at the bar staff seemed to have gone, unsure why that is?? What seemed to be the general manager (late 40s man with a beard, cap and American accent) was extremely rude and provided terrible customer service. I do not recommend and will be not returning.

Great visit today. Best Guinness I've had in the area. Met the new manger Zach who talked me through all his doing with Pub. Can't wait to come back and try the Roast as friend recommended it to me. I'm so glad I came because the pub looks beautiful and cool.

Terrible GM who refuses to respect his customers or his staff, unable to provide hours that he himself contracts them for and then puts the obligation on them to fix. Be careful he may blow up at you as I saw him do twice on unsuspecting customers. (I worked there for only a week...) He can do better and Young's can do better.

New owners completely lost what made this pub so great. It is now dead after 10; used to be one of the best nights out in London with great tunes and dancing

Me encanta el nuevo look! El jardín de cerveza sigue siendo tan fantástico como siempre y es un gran lugar para ver el rugby. Lo pasamos muy bien allí y volveremos pronto.

I went last night for the launch. Guys it looks fab!!! The outside, heated huts with private tvs (!!!) are sooo good for groups to hang out! Food was amazing and everyone was lovely! Great location too.. Thanks for a spectacular evening... head was a bit sore this morning though! ❤️👌

Very cute garden section with little huts, each with their own heaters - perfect for the cold weather. We also did the paint and sip class upstairs which was awesome.

Dropped in at the weekend and heard they’re are having a full refurbishment! Very excited for this, def one of my favourite pubs in the area and will miss it while it closes but chatting with the team and looks like it’s going to be epic! Possible, the worst pub Young's pub I have been to. Was dubious about coming here due to the ratings, unfortunately, proven correct... I'm 35, don't remember that last time I got asked for ID, pulled it out, security didn't bother looking at it, expensive beer ,"instagramable" cocktails that take about 4 years to make while other customers are waiting for a "in the now, real world" drink, incredibly slow service, rude security! (They were just the worse). Horrible time, will most definitely not be returning and now actually put off by Young's pubs in general which is a pity as have been to quiet a few now which I've never had this experience. Perhaps it's me, perhaps it's Clapham/Brixton, I am not sure but been to much better pubs and bars in these areas than this....

Best Garden pub atmosphere in Brixton but garden closes so early. Dance floor at weekends indoors with limited space.

Curtis was a legend! Helped save my Sunnis after they dropped down the back of a seat. Request to the management please put a board along the back of the booth on the far corner, there are glasses, beers and menus all down there, easy fix with 2x4! But Curtis came through with picker and the lens cleaner, legend

Went for the England v Holland Semi final. Massively understaffed with 4 people behind an enormous bar that could fit 8. 1 person on the outside bar when could fit two. Took over 45 mins to get a drink each time. Main tv in the garden stopped working after 15 mins, staff did nothing about it. In the end a customer got up and fixed it 30 minutes later. Had the potential to be absolutely unbelievable, but no organisation and operationally really poor.

A Young's pub that appears to be a sports bar. It has a large outdoor area that looks nice in pictures, but it's not for me. I'm sure it's the kind of place that draws crowds for football. There were approximately twenty or so people there on a Friday afternoon watching the grand prix.

One of my favourite places in the area! Very good service! Gabi is the best barman ever, always paying attention to what my friends and I need when we hang out in the pub. Very nice person! Highly recommended for celebrations and hanging out with friends!

A nice bar to have in the neighbourhood. Played quiz here a couple of times and I especially liked the outdoor area that is nice and cozy on warmer days. The staff is a highlight. Everyone's friendly and Matt was especially helpful. London is a diverse place and talking to nice and interesting people is exactly what's great about this city. I recommend dropping by this place and talk to Matt. He'll show you around.

I came here for a dinner date with a couple friends, team was really nice and very helpful. They made sure we was taken care off. The food was delicious, you need to try the Tacos they are made in house! I couldn’t believe the flavours. They have live music occasionally so keep an eye out. The atmosphere was on point. I would definitely recommend here. Oh yeh and they have a MASSIVE beer garden! Can’t wait to spend summer here.

Doesn't look anything like the pictures. Dirty, uncared for. Disabled toilet was blocked. Food very expensive.

Hi when I went there the staff was very helpful and polite and couldn't do anymore for us .food was good and the wine 🍷. The young lady think her name was Danielle was very helpful and polite too . I like the place .Will definitely go back In the summer .Lisa

I visited the Hope and Anchor in Brixton a couple of weekends ago. A friend had booked one of their huts in the garden to watch a rugby match. When I arrived I was a bit earlier and got talking to some of the staff while being served. I think their names are Raven and Gabby. Really nice lads. They were working quickly but still had time for some friendly banter. I noticed that while it is small inside there were plenty of screens to watch sports. The drinks selection is good too. I was excited to see they had beers from Brixton Brewery on tap, one of my favourite craft breweries :) When the rest of the group arrived we were shown out to our hut by one of the managers, Danielle. She was very friendly and let us know our options for ordering. I was a bit skeptical at first about using the app for ordering but it was really useful for during the game as our food and drinks were delivered to our hut without needing to leave the table and missing any of the game. I couldn't believe how big the garden is and they have loads of TVs showing the matches. The hut we booked could fit all 15 of us inside and had its own TV screen with the volume played through speakers. It was a bit chilly on the day but each hut has an electric heater in it. We ordered food through the app and it all arrived fairly quickly. Their menu is mainly burgers and street food style light bites. It was perfect for watching sports with friends. As we were leaving I saw that a DJ was setting up so I imagine it gets very lively in the evening. I will definitely be booking again to watch sports with friends. I imagine it must be even better in the beer garden when the weather is warmer.

I'm a big fan. (Even though there is no draught ale... In a Young's pub!) They have something on most evenings, the atmosphere is always mega, the staff are friendly, the outside area is massive with many TVs. Shout out to Mike and his Open Mic first Monday of every month. Great musicians playing non stop for hours.

Rented one of the huts in the garden for a friend's birthday - good even in the winter. The huts were free to rent and provide a good place to meet with friends. The pub isn't cheap but it's also fun for a night out on a weekend.

Came here for my birthday, was ridiculously crowded so you had to wait half an hour for a drink. We ordered a glass of read wine, but was served white, and was told that we had ordered the wrong wine, so started drinking it, the girl who brought the drink double check and it was actually a red we ordered. We had ordered correctly. Which was completely fine they accidentally poured the wrong drink. However when we went to let them know we was met by an extremely rude blonde woman. Who I’m guessing was the manager and she had a head set on. 0 customer service or manners she even said “can you not tell the different between red or white wine… it’s pretty clear”? Which clearly she couldn’t as she had sent the wrong one originally. She was rolling her eyes and just being extremely rude.

Great place for drinks and for watching football/rugby

Garden is lovely and staff friendly but the service is awful. On a busy night it can easily take 40 minutes at the bar to receive your drink.

Cool pub. They have little huts out the back where you can sit with your pals. We had an acoustic guitar and a few pals and a had a great night. Funky kind decor and they serve pizzas also. What more do ya want?!

Great pub with screens everywhere and a wonderful beer garden. Each garden cabana has a screen too! However, service is extremely slow at the bar and from the garden you can’t order drinks on the Young’s app (only food).

Big terrace and little huts at the back, with heaters available. The service is SLOW, omg! It takes ages to serve pints and the staff (although very nice) is on Economy Mode. But again, they’re all friendly. Good atmosphere overall, and great place for a sport match.
