Lockhouse in City of London, Westminster

Came here with colleagues, food is average, place quite noisy cos a lot of people were there, had to talk louder than I normally would. I had the beef burger with fried egg, was alright, nothing particularly special but also nothing I didn’t like. The deep fried ice cream had a arancini shell and thicker than I expected, ice cream also already started melting inside.

Finding a good pub in the Paddington area full of new apartmentbuildings and shiny offices proved to be a challenge. At one point we walked past Lockhouse and the atmosphere seemed pleasantly busy and we were welcomed friendly. You have to like industrial decor, but the chairs are comfortable. The menu is not too large and can be described as modern pub classics. The execution however is excellent; I choose the weekly changing pie of the week and it tuned out to be a steak pie. Well-filled with tasty beefstew and thin piecrust. With cabbage, a rich gravy and buttery mash. And a very tasty and light honeycomb icecream for dessert. Don't judge a book by its cover; Lockhouse looks like a minimalist place where office people go for a drink after work before going home, but we really had an excellent meal here for very reasonable prices; definitely recommended.

I ordered fish and chips and they cant even make such a simple thing right. It was overdone and seemed cooked in overused oil. After that ordered a sticky toffee pudding which came dry without the sticky toffee sauce! Avoid

We booked a table for lunch, never having been before, and it well and truly lived up to our expectations. Great space, not too close to other tables, friendly staff, great food!! Had wine and a beer plus mains and desserts and it was just under £30 each.

Good was OK, nothing special. It was plentiful but maybe too much. Service was good. We went on a Saturday and it was dead so had about 3 staff waiting on us.

Lockhouse is one of the best pubs in Paddington. When I went it was full of people but I was able to be served really quickly twice. The staff were really nice to me, they were not satisfied with how they poured the Guinness so wanted to rectify their mistake which was nice. Lockhouse atmosphere is so much fun, I loved being there, it's a quirky place, it's almost like being in Camden or hackney Wick. If you're in the paddington area, you have to stop by and relax here 😊

Booked for a large group - they were proactive and easy to deal with and unlike some of the restaurants in the area didnt insist we had to order from a 3 course set menu. Staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the food.

Just had the best Avocado eggs ever. Really nice spot and great food and staff. Five stars!

Was here with my friends the other day and I’m due back today becuase of the lovely service and short waiting time. Jamila was really helpful showing me all the food on the menu and how to eat as British as possible because im not from the UK. Her customer service was on point. Would defiantly recommend again!

Went for a cocktail late Sunday afternoon- very quiet and as it was a nice day I sat outside. Bar staff were pleasant and helpful and my mojito was lovely and minty - better than the previous one I had in a very upscale hotel where they were running out of mint! This is a lovely looking bar-diner and I will certainly revisit it and try the food and a different cocktail. The location is amazing - next to the Floating pocket Garden in the Merchant City. Nice place to while away a few hours while my better half is at the Science Museum!!

Pranav was a lovely bartender. That was only the start. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful as well. The bar itself was in a lovely location and the interior was very comfortable and fun.

Visited on a sunny Saturday lunchtime and sat out, Great place to sit, eat and drink and watch the world go by. Was lucky to have Anoop serving us, he was the most hard-working customer service rep I have ever seen, he was covering so many tables and appeared to be on his own. He was pleasant, helpful and apologised when we had to wait a few minutes for our drinks. Good range of drinks and food which was served quickly. We had the boneless half chicken (was escalloped) - lightly flavoured, delicious and not dried out meat. Chicken and Bacon Club Sandwich - huge, tasty with plenty of filling. And Reggies Steak Sandwich - perfectly cooked, plenty of steak and chimichuri gave it that something different. Shared the tomato and basil salad, not sure if it was because we had hot sunny weather but we all found this dish the best thing of the visit and the mains were hard to beat !. The basil element was a light oil which was delicious and the tomatoes fresh and flavoursome. And to top it off there was some crust left over from the club sandwich which we used as dipping bread in the leftover oil, just the best!. With the friendly, helpful staff (Anoop), great food and good location this casual visit was made into something we will all remember.

We had breakfast and coffee and it was on par with the best I’ve had back in Melbourne (this says a LOT). An indulgence. The service was great. Nice big place, chill vibe though.

A very nice visit for lunch. The fish finger sandwich was iconic and was a real 'wow' at lunch. The veggie breakfast was good too. Table service is always lovely when you're catching up with friends. Would recommend if you're in the area.

We were invited so I won't judge on the price. Very nice location on the edge of Little Venice. Beautiful decor. Fairly classic fish and chips cuisine. Pretty basic. However, areas for improvement: toilets not very clean with very little water for washing hands. Personnel in the west complete and above all in a hurry to finish before even starting.... I think the place is nice for eating for 2, 4 or 6 people but I don't recommend it in a group due to team organization issues.

Had 3 options for non/low alcoholic beers, which I greatly enjoyed. Good vibes, helpful staff.
