Le Pain Quotidien in City of London, Westminster

We ordered green tea for two. This is usually priced around £3 at the most. I mean it's green tea leaves boiled in a bag. It came out undrinkable pipping hot and cost us £7.30! I am more annoyed with the price than the fact it was pipping hot. I know prices have gone up but charging this much to customers for a green tea is outrageous. It's safe to say I will spread the word and won't be coming here again!

The food is always great at these so we popped in for a quick lunch. We were "greeted" by the first of the pouting staff and sat at a table with no silverware even though she picked up two napkins and spoons when we said it was the 2 of us. Ordering with another employee was equally as unremarkable. We finally asked to pay (just before another customer had to do the same) and a different pouting staff member printed the check and I was able to pay. I noticed a service charge was added so it seems they don't have much incentive to actually provide anything more than the minimum level of service.

Good location Meal was okay, good and Oat latte great.

Overall ok, as part of a chain it is probably nicer than the other branches. The food was relatively underwhelming. The hot chocolate was however the greatest disappointment.

We have visited before for breakfast and always enjoyed the location, food and service. My first choice wasn’t available and I felt a bit rushed to order a replacement. I chose pancakes with banana, strawberry, Chantilly cream and compote, it was a little too sweet for me, however if you have a sweet tooth this would be perfect. My husband had scrambled eggs with avocado, it was served with bacon in error which meant this turned into a rather large breakfast. They have a fabulous take away section, the focaccia looked amazing. Nice food, generous portions and lovely staff. A great start to a busy day being a tourist.

We hebben er wat koffie gedronken en ontbeten. Prima broodjes en zeker voor Engeland, lekkere koffie. Vriendelijk personeel. Wel prijzig maar goed gelegen direct uit de metro binnen te lopen naast de Monument.

Good breakfast and coffee! Nice place to meet for a bite before work but service can be a little tough when it’s full.

Service is absolutely fantastic, everyone is friendly and always ready to help. The pastries are all made fresh in the morning - the almond croissant I had was very good. I have come here multiple times and the quality of service and food has always been consistently great. Definitely one of the best cafes in City for a place to work and eat.

Wow,amazing quality food,the avocado toast and the blueberry compote &chocolate sauce pancakes were both beautifully presented and tasted divine.The location was perfect next to the monument. The cappuccino was really good..A real good find today in Central London..

Le Pain Quotidien serves one of the best croissants I've had in London. Their brunch plates are generous enough for two people, and it comes with a hot drink included in the menu. I found it easy to find a table even on a busy day, and the ambiance was nice. The service was prompt, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and I will definitely be returning.

Went in multiple times both for breakfast and lunch and have not been disappointed. Food is always fresh and tasty, staff are great and friendly and the atmosphere is nice even when its busy.

The dim lighting of the place provides a pleasant ambiance for those who love it. The interior is very spacious. There are tables of many different sizes to sit on. It is possible to eat alone or with a large group. I definitely recommend you to try their coffee. In addition, thanks to its wide menu, you can taste many different French and Belgian patisserie products.

Nous avons opté pour le brunch dans le restaurant le pain quotidien de Monument. Nous avons été très agréablement surpris par la qualité du pain et des viennoiseries ainsi que l'oeuf dur fondant au milieu ! Le service est très agréable et la décoration du restaurant très appréciable.

Lovely breakfast (City prices.. but nice vibe) Malena’s service was spotless! She even split the bill by guest for us, which I have never seen before.

A very spacious venue with big family tables and fast service. Wi fi super strong and tube station in proximity. I loved their menu and keep on visiting each Pain Quotidien I find as it represents a healthy and safe choice for my family and I

We went here for coffee because we'd enjoyed a visit to another branch the previous day. This time we just had a hot drink. Once 12.5% service charge had been added, I paid almost £4.50 for my cappuccino. This is even more expensive than east Cheshire. Unfortunately it was bland with little evidence of actual coffee. I won't be so keen to visit again.

Sehr ruhiges Lokal mitten in der City. Ideal mal zum Entspannen nach oder zwischen dem Sightseeing. Kaffeegeschmack hat unseren allerdings nicht getroffen.

Expensive and bad coffee. The fritata was a mess of soggy vegetables on dry, crumbly and bland bread. Service was not bad, but they add on a hidden 10% service charge. Just advertise the full price, this isn't america, stop hiding the true cost from the consumer.

The plates we ordered were poor to what we expected and compared to other local cafes/bakeries. The croissant was delicious. Overall it was ok.

Kind team and fast service despite being busy. The chicken was good, even though the sauce had onions in it.

Too expensive for what you get. Also the waiter was extremely inattentive. She let us wait a good 10 minutes while chatting with a coworker. We wanted to order desert but had to shout in order to get the attention from someone. Eventually a coworker helped us out. The food was good. The toast however was very, very hard.

Right outside Monument Station, great service and good coffee. Not always easy to find a table available. I used to come here to buy their olive bread sticks but unfortunately they don't make it anymore. They still have a good selection of bread so I am always enjoying visiting this place.

I popped in for a takeaway coffee on the south bank for me and my husband, and without asking the manager offered to fill up my kids water bottles and made them a baby chino on the house!! Outstanding, thank you!

an absolute delight.. popped in today whilst family climbed The Monument and was met with smiling staff, seated straight away and served a decision croissant and wonderful coffee. A lovely atmosphere. will return soon

Unfortunately It wasn’t tasty, the avocado was rare and uneatable, the eggs weren’t cooked as we asked. The juice was ok overall Wasn’t worth the price ! :/

Service déplorable et très cher pour ce que c'est.

Great food, friendly staff served in a lovely setting. We enjoyed a really tasty butternut squash, onion and goats cheese frittata along with super fresh scrambled eggs with avocado. Washed down by really good coffee. The start were great, the ambiance good and the bill whilst a little pricey, was well worth it. Highly recommend a visit.

Found the cafe as enroute to City airport via tube. Food was delicious and large portion for 1. Staff very helpful and welcoming.

I couldn't finish the breakfast. It was so good! £14'50 for the Full Breakfast Farmer. The cheese was very good. I could not finish everything so they gave us a bag to put the rest in there. The croissant is homemade and just wow, really good. I would definitely go there again when I'm in London.

Fantastic staff atmosphere and service. The Vegan options are sorely lacking unfortunately.

Personnel agréable mais nous n'avons pas apprécié le carrot cake, il avait le goût de pain d'épices. Et il semblerait que nous ayons payé plus qu'annoncé sur le menu. Néanmoins le cadre était très agréable.

Popped in for a quick coffee while out taking in the sights of London. The staff were friendly and quick with my order, which was great especially as it was so cold 😊

Very nice place, the service is welcoming and friendly. The menu offers solutions for everyone (glutenfree, veg, etc.). Great location with connections for every direction.

The croissant was decent, much more expensive on deliveroo even if you're picking it up. Staff seemed to be busy, so it took them a while to make and pack my order (I ordered two items, one croissant and a hot drink). The coffee here doesn't give you a buzz, so I'll just pass on this next time!

Convenient lo action opp Monument tube station. Scrummy confectionary & wide range of drinks for takeaway. Large dining area & wide choice of healthy foodstuffs.

This place could be good, and maybe I just went there on a bad day, but... We visited about midday on a Sunday, a bit early for lunch but it was reasonably full. It's nice inside and in a good location. We only ordered drinks, but it took quite a long time to be served, quite a long time for the drinks to come, and both of the hot drinks on our order were pretty tepid. One of our group could see the service area and said it looked like the coffees were being made first and then having to wait around for the rest of the order, and we saw another table sending their hot drinks back for being too cold. I suspect that it was a case of there not being enough staff to cope with the numbers. I know it's London, but the prices weren't exactly cheap either.

Quiet, relaxing, pleasent staff. Breakfast Coffee and croissants for 4 for £27 about average for Central London. Liked is so much we came back later in the day for dinner. Thank you to our lovely waitress Kinga. £30 each for meal, drinks and desert, very good. Would come here again. :)

Went for breakfast, mediocre at best and forgot my daughter's breakfast which came about twenty minutes after every one else's, maybe they couldn't boil an egg!

Used to be excellent but the quality of the food has gone down hill at least at the Monument branch that's the case. Stale croissants, insipid scrambled eggs, etc and not cheap either

The food is very good but the service is patchy. The company has a lot of it's vibe since being badly affected by the pandemic.

Drop on this place by accident. Excellent place for lunch. Will definitely go again.

I got the brunch and chose from the options: salmon and Cucumber, pain au chocolat, flat white and apple juice. My stepmum ordered the baked eggs. Very delicious and staff were friendly. They gave me a bag for my pastry to take away.

They have the best serving in the entire London. I can't recommend enough their lattes. I'll definitely come back to this place.

I visited Le Pain Quotidien one day when I wasn't feeling working in the office and I had such a pleasant experience. Tea and ham and cheese croissant I had was lovely and the staff were lovely too! I have to take my hat off to the waitress Melissa (I think that's her name, the girl with the 2 nose piercings) she was so friendly and really cheered up my morning. I wish there were more waitresses as pleasant as Melissa (apologies if I've got your name wrong, I'm terrible with them!

Avoid that place. Very small quantities. Probably a place for children.

Excellent food and service the homemade lemonade was excellent

Not great but I’ll start with the positives + Good service (maybe an improvement from previous bad reviews? Staff were friendly to me) + Nice pastries But unfortunately that’s where it ends. Poached egg and mushroom came cold where as soft boiled egg came hot (slightly undercooked too but I personally don’t mind this). This place for some bizarre reason keeps the jams and spreads in large jars so of course they aren’t sanitary and the apricot jam had a big glob of butter from previous customers (yuck - also bad luck if you’re allergic!). I could only recommend if you go for pastries and a cup of tea. If you order eggs maybe only order one kind so the other isn’t sitting around getting cold I suppose. I honestly considered 2 stars but thought that unfair since the service was good and maybe I just had bad luck with the food!

Terrible service. Opted for a take away coffee in the end and was given a faulty lid, no cardboard around it so was too hot too hold, just binned it.

Whenever I go here and order a coffee and cake, the piece of cake usually takes about half an hour to arrive. Last time I queried it, and turned out they'd forgotten about the cake order altogether. Apart from that, everything's great. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and drinks.

Locale trovato casualmente per cercare riparo da un violento ed improvviso acquazzone, si è rivelato un luogo ampio, grazioso ed accogliente, affacciato sulla fermata Monument della Tube (molto comoda). Una gentile impiegata italiana ci ha accolto mostrandoci i tavoli dove poter ricaricare gli smartphone comodamente. Abbiamo ordinato waffles e smoothie deliziosi e ricaricato le batterie, non soltanto dei telefoni, in piena tranquillità. Ci tornerò!

Bacon was undercooked / uncooked and the French toast was burnt. Eggs were cold and tasteless. Not a good experience. Would avoid this branch.

Really friendly staff, happy to oblige any strange request eg a plain baguette that didn't fit on a plate. Delicious pastries and good coffee.

Tap water never arrived, apple juice so small you wanted to cry at paying £4 for it, flat white coffee that was just tepid milk….and the cakes? They never arrived. Waitress politely apologised for lack of cake.

Nice place but all the mugs had handles which as a long time LPQ fan, I know they should not. Not having the Belgian hand warmers really took away from the experience 😞😔
