Pasé por la tranquila tienda (a la hora del almuerzo entre semana) y me apeteció un café. El personal estaba muy contento y nos preparó dos cafés encantadores, nos sentamos al sol y quedé muy contento con él.

The ‘buttermilk chicken in the chicken burger was terrible, made of chicken thigh, so some bits were extremely dry and totally inedible. If a member of staff had been visable I would have complained. At £14.95 (without chips- they were a further £3.50) it’s a very expensive lunch, will not return.

The Shortlands Tavern is a perfect local friendly pub, family and dog friendly. Great beers and Sunday roasts plus positive attentive staff. If more pubs were like the ST they wouldn’t be under threat. Top marks on atmosphere ( you can actually have a conversation ) , service ( the staff really value customers) and food plus beer ( definitely try the Heart of Darkness. One third of the tables had a dog present, one third families with kids. An experience worth the money.

This is my local 'go-to' pub. It has recently changed ownership with a new gent running it. All I can say is that the drinks are excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming and there is always someone to talk to at the bar or you can relax with a pint or 2 on your own in the corner after a long day if you feel so inclined. Big well kept garden, good food selection and Sunday roasts. Top marks from me. Come along and give it a try.

Met for a friend for coffee and a snack but ended up eating a little more than I had planned. I ordered a sausage roll. Absolutely stunning. I’ve eaten a few in my time so I know a thing or two about sausage rolls. This was possibly the best I’ve had. I certainly don’t recall having one as good, ever. Sadly, I wolfed it down before I could photograph it! Followed up with a cinnamon bun. Wow! another delight! Got a pic this time. Thank you Jack! You’re doing a fantastic job.

It was only a couple of days ago as of writing this, that I had just come out of the Royal Free Hospital after visiting my sick grandmother with my sister. We must have been looking rather down as the lovely lady who was currently closing up shop ran up to us and offered us both a bag of pastries and other baked goods. Receiving these confectionery really made mine and my sisters' day, as it forced us to start thinking of everything in a positive light. Once I got home I ended up eating one of the pastries without thinking when I had planned to take photos of them, to put up online. The rest of the freshly baked confectionery was eaten by the rest of our family in a short amount of time, I would have taken some photos however we were all just very mentally exhausted. But I can truly say one thing: the bread was extremely soft and tasty despite being given away for free and the pastries were utterly delicious and mouth watering; so much so that I ended up going back for a second one a few hours later. Two days later I went back to visit my grandmother in hospital, but before doing so I visited Karma Bread during their opening hours and was delighted to have a long discussion with them. They are obviously used to people being either a tad big upset or just feeling down in general, with them being a 3 minute walking distance from the hospital and on the way to Hampstead Heath station. After talking for a bit I asked them for a rather difficult order, as my grandmother cannot eat gluten or dairy; but even with this they had a confectionery to suit her needs. My grandma had the Almond and orange cake and she rather enjoyed it, especially compared to the food she had been eating in hospital. With that being said I recommend anyone that is heading to the hospital to visit a loved one to pick themself or their loved one up a treat from Karma Bread. My Third time visiting Karma Bread was about 3 days later. I left the house early so I could grab a sandwich and a coffee from Karma Breads Cafe. The bread in the sandwich seems to have been freshly made with a warm, soft and well leavened texture . Whilst the tuna and cucumber filling was moist and flavorful with a nice crunch. My coffee was a decaf latte that had been prepared with care and high quality ingredients, it was served to me at the perfect temperature for consumption and the barista was able to produce an impressive piece of coffee art. Once I had my lunch I started drawing the interior of Karma Bread, of which the process took around 3 hours. During the process I enjoyed many pleasant conversations with the patrons and staff. As well as the familiar familia inviting atmosphere, which was produced through a combination of enjoyable music, the inviting aroma of fresh coffee and baked bread and lastly the general temperament and personality of the locals who seems to frequent the bakery. Moreover with Karma Bread being so close to Hampstead Heath it makes it the perfect place to get freshly baked bread for a summer picnic with friends and family. Also I have to say that the drawing I produced over the 3 hours I spent there was some of my best work I have done in recent months, despite a hand injury of which I doubt I would have been inspired to draw if it weren't for the atmosphere of the cafe. Once my drawing was done my hand was in quite a bit of pain however I left it with the Cafe after taking a photo being satisfied with my work. I went to the Cafe one last time 4 days later before my Grandmother was left out of hospital. During this visit I wished to sample their hot food and I have to be honest their shakshuka was definitely one of the best you can get in London with a flavorful exquisite taste. Whilst their bread and butter pudding was at the ideal temperature an outstanding creamy taste and a succulent soft feeling paired well flawless latte. Lastly I must say their positive smiles, kind words of reassurance and customer service truly will make anyone's day and make them feel like part of their family. Moreover the way in which they treat their staff is truly something to be admired as whilst I was there on my 3rd visit I was happy to witness them celebrating the birthday of one of their colleagues. P.s I don’t believe they make a habit of giving out free food, however they definitely bring a lot of good Karma into the world and I hope fate smiles upon them in turn.

This business used to have plenty of choices that were worth the travel to get there. What I've noticed as soon as we arrived was the number of people present (usually a massive queue on Sundays). We went on purpose to buy a birthday cake as I've been doing for the past 15 years) only to have the biggest disappointment today when we served it... it was dry, the ribbon around the cake brought all the egg filling with it. Also bought custard tarts and other egg product that isn't to the standards I was used to, plus been overcharged in one of the items. When I asked if they had Molotov or egg lamprey (typical Portuguese dishes) I was told they don't do it anymore as they don't have the chef that used to do them. Summarising I do believe that if you walk a few meters down the road to another Portuguese coffee shop which has now the same quality the only difference is that they have better prices.

Came to see The William Bourne as we saw in the paper it was recently refurbished, We really loved the new improved pub, Servers were very helpful and recommended a dish from The bigger plates section, got to say the taste of the deep south was value for money, we will be back again and will make sure to bring my friends.

Sadly very unhelpful rude service. This place is sadly struggling with lack of staff. Those that are there are struggling to keep up with the orders. I waited patiently to be served only to be told he was heading to the kitchen to cook and I’d have to wait a further 20 mins before he’d even take my order. I get that he was short staffed and feel very sorry for this , but there is a way to say things and deal with customers. Especially after having stood there for so long and especially locals (as I am). Sadly won’t bother going again. Needs some proper management and a bit of customer service training. Food usually good once you get served though.
