Tom Cribb in City of London, Westminster

Great little traditional pub just off off Leicester Square. Great find.

Great atmosphere, clean pub and friendly staff. Hope to go back and sample the delicious sounding menu.

We called in after a day out in London exploring beyond the usual tourist locations. Shepherd Name is our local brewery back in Kent, so we knew we could expect a decent pint of Masterbrew and lager and weren't disappointed. The pub is attractive from the street and equally so inside, with a good size bar and tables carefully spaced to afford easy passage. Overall, the presentation and service was friendly and welcoming. Recommended

First visit since refit. Used to use it regularly. Chaotic, cramped, dirty and noticeably overpriced. The refit has appeared to result in even less space, visited last Thursday lunchtime. Not overly busy and already chaotic. The bar seems to be even larger with a mammoth serving space behind resulting in a sad little area for patrons. Given the new high tables and position it's causes numerous bottlenecks, then customers are moving high chairs out so you've no hope getting to the bar. The loos are now unisex which is absolute madness given females spend long periods using, this resulted in 5 return visits to secure a free cubicle, and were filthy. Two of my party had enough and went to the pub next door to use their loos.. Beers were all noticeably under poured with all having to be topped up, even more irritating given sky high prices. Food hasn't improved, ordered a scotch egg, were told of 15 min wait which was fine but when arrived at room temperature, the sad little anemic looking fellow not much bigger than a golf ball rolling around on an oval plate with mustard. All in all poor at best, too much competition around. Avoid.

Pleasant central pub but quietly located. We come here often when in London and the recent renovation makes it better.

We stopped in after a long walking tour of the city. Chantelle served us upstairs hamburgers fries and beer. Excellent service with a bubbly personality ++++ She’s a doll.

Thank god for the Tom Cribb. After what felt like hours of walking around Whitehall and the Thames I needed a beer. And there was the shining light, ready to serve up 3 pints of spitfire lager. Perfect.

Always a decent pint of Guinness

Absolutely lovely little pub in a great location. Splendid inside and nice to drink outside too, this boozer immediately made a good impression when the lovely girl behind the bar knew about their beers and made helpful suggestions. Great line-up of cask ales and nice keg options too. The staff were all really friendly and good at their roles (nice to see the aforementioned one get successfully chatted-up by a lad, good work and I hope the date goes well!) I also love the boxing theme and all the fascinating old pictures and photos of previous eras of the sport.

This has to be one of the best shepard neame pub we have been in. We live in kent by the coast but had the best fish and chips ever better than any shepard neame pub local to us. David and Raymond Ramsgate bar staff very atentive to.

Good pub, nice beer, good location

Nice pub in the middle of a hot day, it was nice to sit here for a while. A pint cost 8.81 euros

Unfortunately we got the only member of the bar team to be rude and blunt. We had to leave after getting blanked at the bar. If you don’t like or struggle to interact with customers don’t work in hospitality.

Splendid old style corner pub. Recently refurbished but unspoiled. Now has an upstairs room. Excellent range of Shepherd & Neame beers.

Fantastic spot! Such welcoming staff, great food, drinks and service. Reasonable prices. The manager, was on top of things with a smile! Despite being the night of the soccer game, England Spain, and the place was full, everything run soooo smooth. Our waitress, was extremely knowledgeable, attentive wnd super helpful in helping us to make the right choices for our taste, from salads to pies to burgers and drinks . It feels like you’re going home! I’ll visit this place every time I come to London. Highly recommend it!

BEST PUB EVER! had a slight emergency with my friend feeling unwell and they were super sweet friendly and accommodating to us. They let us stay past closing times waiting for an ambulance instead of throwing us out I’m super grateful! Definitely will go for a night out with my friends again!

It's a pub the ones I've been to are all the same good place to waste time, food is decent not the best for you but you're there drinking and having a good time.

Nice discovery this afternoon. Very friendly staff who found us a table in a small cozy room. We were going to leave, as the pub was full, but they kindly called us back. We ate well and the beer was good. The service lived up to our first impression, which was excellent. The prices are more than reasonable, considering that Piccadilly is less than fifty meters away.

Ne trouvant pas de place vers 12h30, nous repartions. Mais le patron est venu nous chercher pour nous trouver une place à l'étage dans une pièce charmante à l'ambiance britannique. Nous avons très bien mangé et avons été enchantés par la gentillesse de la dame qui nous servait. Pour le service, elle nous a même précisé qu'il n'était pas obligatoire. Sincèrement, nos avons été généreux, car nous nous y sentions bien.

Huge food portions looked really good - didn't eat. Atmosphere was also great, busy and friendly. Didn't appreciate the pint glass being filled over 1 inch from the top, nor the funny look the bar maid gave to her friend/colleague when I politely asked if she could please top it up. Come on guys, a pint is a pint. I visit your pubs for real ale not weak, gassy, imitations at inflated prices. I don't know what year is quoted but there is a Govt weights and measures act that states just that!

Amazing place and food was just perfect, I would go to London just for their Fish and chips. Just the waitress was not really too nice to us, but never mind.

Really great pub! However, my friend and I (both young women) received poor service from the pink haired female bartender. She let two middle aged men cut in front of us and served them first when we’d been stood for a long time and it wasn’t busy. She was extremely blunt and demanded our ids in a very rude way, I was especially aware of the different way she treated us as I saw her be nice to other male customers. We tried to be nice to her and my friend and I both work in service and know that manners cost nothing. The other bartender was lovely but I really hope the superiors at the pub speak to her about her attitude.

Great bar, let down by appalling service. Visited at 18:10 26/03/24 and the service was just shocking. I understand the bar was busy, I was right in the middle of it but the attitude of being asked to move down the bar by a member of the team was just appalling, what happened to the days when the bar team came to you? Maybe I’ve worked in a pub too long ago and things have changed. I then heard the team say they don’t need to try tonight because it’s so busy. Shocking.

Tiny Shepherd Neame pub opposite Harold Pinter Theatre and Odeon cinema. Great pint of Bishops Finger. Great cheap Southern Indian restaurant next door!

Always make a point of coming here if in area. My mum was a Cribb, with Tom Cribb in her ancestry. Pub has been refurbished since we last came, didn’t seem to be so much Tom Cribb memorabilia on display. There is an upstairs, so it might be up there now?! Friends had lunch of scotch egg and chips, said was delicious. Friendly staff. Thanks for having us. 😊

I went a little late and the kitchen was closed so I couldn't eat the food, but they had a variety of beers and they were friendly! It's a casual pub with a lot of people, so it's a good place to have a beer casually. I think so!

I can’t recommend this pub enough! Chantelle is amazing. She makes this pub what it is. It’s well managed, well organised, quick service! Me and my family popped in for a quick pint for my mum’s 52nd birthday and I’ve never felt more at home. Can’t recommend enough!!!

Shepherd Neame pub in the West End. Old style boozer near Leicester Sq. Recommended. Only had drinks so I don't know what the foods like. Good, quick service.

Wonderful pub, attentive staff. Even though it was busy, they were spot on getting people served at the bar. Great choice of drinks, looked like a lot of theatre musicians were having a quick one before work.

Really nice beverages, however when we got there, they weren't ready entirely for our order.

If you’re looking for a decent burger or a hearty ale pie, this is the place… Add to that friendly staff, and a range of ales from Britain’s oldest brewer, and you’ve got a classic pub experience!

I stopped in for a pint of bishops finger and left without drinking it. The pint was dead, it had no head and was completely flat. When I complained to the barman, he said that real ale was supposed to be served at room temperature, and the reason why there was no head was because there was no CO2. I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. I was absolutely stunned that he thought it was fine. He wouldn't replace it, so I left.

A truly spectacular atmosphere, very warm and enveloping with a typical English atmosphere. Totally recommended!!😃.

The most unfriendly staff you’ll find in central London. Bizarre reservation policy where the guests didn’t show 45 minutes into the booking, kicking people off the table in the meantime. It’s already a small pub, what was the problem with letting people sit down in the meantime?

I didn't try the food because the kitchen closes early, the girl who serves is very unfriendly, the atmosphere is good, the place is an authentic London pub.

Stopped here for a pre-show lunch and pint. The food was excellent, uncomplicated pub food menu but the steak pie was absolutely delicious. My parents had sausage and mash, the portions were generous and the gravy delicious. We went back for more drinks after the show! Great pub, definitely will return. Pub food is considered to be simple but can easily be bad, this was really good.

Beautiful traditional pub which was recently refurbished. The only downside was very loud cheesy music. Menu looks good but didn't have a chance to try it this time.

I've had some of my best memories in this pub, and whenever I'm in the area, I always pop in for a pint (or two). It has a great atmosphere and good vibes, making it a perfect place to catch up with friends. If you're looking for a fantastic pub in central London, I strongly recommend Tom Cribb. One of the best pubs in London! It is the typical English pub with a lot of atmosphere, especially in the afternoons. The staff are very nice and the location is perfect, right next to Piccadilly, Trafalgar Square and surrounding areas. I totally recommend it.

Went in with both servers crossed arms, not looking at us. Asked at 3:55 if kitchen was open and a straight "no" was the answer. After asking when it will be open, they said in the next ten minutes. Felt like I was trying to get info out of em haha. Ordered 2 of their holiday drinks. The bartender didn't know how to make them and had to look up the recipe. came back to me saying they didn't have the ingredients.. wasn't a good impression from the start, and the drinks were way overpriced for what she made us instead.

Popped in for a refreshment break before the theatre. Nice little London bozzer with interesting beer and good food with large portions. Staff could be a bit more happy !

Average pub with a lot of locals. Busy and loud over the weekend but never disturbing. Nice spot before/after dinner.

Great little spot for drinks with friends and the food was great. We went to a few pubs in our time in London but we went here 3 times. First it was close to our hotel but the atmosphere and the food and drinks were great. We had sausages and mash that was excellent. The sausages were nicely brown on the outside but juicy on the inside, served with potatoes and a little bit of cabbage. It was comfort food at its best. We also had decent fish and chips here. The house wine was absolutely fine too. We recommend this little pub if you are in the area.

The place was packed. Even with all the people, the girls at the bar were super nice and jolly. I drank the spit fire Amber ale and it was ok. I think that if I came on a less busy time, it would’ve been a 5/5

What a Fabulous Place! Good was Fabulous! Balti Pie was Delicious, Fish & Chips was Very Tasty- Decent Size Portions Too! The restaurant upstairs is an intimate space where the table service is professionally attended felt like we were in a restaurant in the west end not sat upstairs in a pub - Definitely be coming back soon!

A disgrace what they have done to this pub in the conversion. Totally ruined it. Look at old photos and compare. Great old British pubs are being ruined by these conglomerate Breweries. I love some of the Neame pubs in Kent but this conversion is a stain on its business

One of the best pubs in the west end. Small but a real gem. Very good wines too. You better investigate the history and art on the wall, which is all about boxing

Decent pub between Leicester Square and Piccadilly, bustling but surprisingly chilled or the location. Met with old friends for a chat staying for the evening. Bar staff were very good 👍 👍🙏

Recently refurbished by Shepherd Name who brew some excellent ales. A haven away from the maddening crowds outside marching around Leicester Square.

It's closed for refurbishment and will open in Sept.

Have frequented since performing in The Little Life theatre production opposite this pub and after spending hard-earned cash, I am once again appalled at the aggressive behaviour and rudeness of the staff after ringing the last bell. So unnecessary and bizarre way to act toward paying customers. Will not go here again

Stopped in for a pre-theatre pint. It was ok, a cosy little spot which was nice enough, unfortunately the toilets were very cramped and the dryer didn't work. Would probably go back and give it another chance though, and maybe increase my rating.

Fantastic West End pub. Not large but centrally situated on Panton St. Good service but can get busy - that's because it's popular.
