This restaurant is amazing. Upon entry to the bar area, we were welcomed by the owner who took us through to the restaurant and seated us by the window. We were promptly asked what drinks we’d like and the cocktails were presented beautifully. I had the 10oz fillet steak medium rare and my daughter had the line caught cod loin with chips. The food was top quality all with freshly sourced ingredients because it left us feeling full. The portions sizes are extremely generous. The apple tart dessert is absolutely delicious and so well presented on the plate. Would highly recommend and definitely go back there. If you’re looking for upmarket food in lovely ambient surroundings then this is your place.

Out of this world. Great location, staff and food. 6 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We actually had lunch yesterday and breakfast today and will be back again.

Be aware. The pastry-chef wife and her bantering husband, who deservedly got such great reviews, have now retired. The place has been taken over by two friendly guys who are doing their best. But the pastries/cakes are now bought-in and they are even considering serving Sushi and other Asian delights. I wish them luck ...... but it is NOT the same experience.

It is difficult to review this place as I have never found it open. I did ring one time last year to book a table and had to leave a message on their answering service and I am still waiting for a response. I have heard that it serves good food and it did have a lovely open fire and a cosy atmosphere There is plenty of parking. I was once called The Snooty Fox and has had several changes of name is the past few years.

Been wanting to pop in here for a while and finally did. Realised how stupid it was to wait so long. We both had the big breakfast. It was amazing. Those bangers are banging. All the food was top quality. The owner was really lovely, friendly. You can tell her customers are important to her. Top quality at a great price. Now I want to try more from the great range she offers Will be visiting again. And again. And again lol.

I wanted a cooked breakfast but have to eat gluten free because of coeliac disease. Initially it looked like the only option was a cold sandwich, then the chef came to speak to me and offered to cook my food separately on foil under the grill. It was delicious and I'm really grateful for her efforts to accommodate me.

Popped in for drinks and cake on a bright and chilly afternoon. Haven’t been a cafe in Clacton for probably over 20 years; was very impressed with this place! Kind, friendly and welcoming staff, lovely cakes and good coffee too. Couldn’t believe the reasonable prices either. Clacton needs more places like this one. Can highly recommend.

A lovely place to enjoy a delicious home cooked lunch, sandwiches or home made cakes at reasonable prices in pleasant surroundings and lovely welcoming staff. We always look forward to going there when we have to visit Clacton hospital as it is just across the road. Do give it a try!

Just enjoyed the most delicious lunch at this lovely, friendly, cosy countryside cafe. Had to check twice that I am on the right page because we thought the previous reviewer might have been to a different eatery to us! Service was quick, friendly and the home-made food was first class. Prices very reasonable and servings generous. Jacket potatoes perfectly cooked, soft inside and crispy outside. Plenty of butter too. Delicious home made quiche. No blaring radio which was a joy and we brought home a delicious apricot and chocolate slice to enjoy later as the main course filled us up, Clean plates said it all. Thank you Orchard Cafe owner and staff.
