The shed cafe under new management.with warm and friendly welcoming. Reasonably priced breakfast freshly prepared and cooked to order.coffee, cake sandwiches, panini, toasties.

Had a brunch, absolutely gorgeous. All the food is prepped/ cooked in view and very fresh. Excellent food and service, which is why you may have to wait a few minutes for a table as so busy (Although you can book). It is also dog friendly which is a bonus in my book! Can't rate this highly enough, never disappointed with the quality.

I ordered the Shed Breakfast. It was excellent; well cooked bacon, perfect fried eggs, mushrooms, very tasty sausages, and the rest. Good coffee, friendly staff. The food arrived quickly, and was eaten swiftly too. My first visit, I will definitely be going back.

Went here for brunch today, and it was fabulous. The staff are friendly and the food was fantastic. I had the breakfast bap and loved it, and was pleased my wife couldn't finish her omelette - as that was gorgeous too. And real chips! Actually, worth going for the chips alone, but everything was first rate. Will be going again!

What a lovely little café they arrived without booking. Very busy time. The food was amazing was taken promptly. Lovely positive experience. Definitely recommend and attend to get myself.

Have been here before and was a 4 but today I had a quarter pound cheese burger, and it was truly awful! This must be the cheapest brown disc labels as a burger, that a wholesaler can supply! I don’t leave food but I couldn’t eat it.

Ordered a full breakfast and scambled egg on toast, coffees were good. Then came a wait of 45mins, while people who came in after us were served. The breakfast was very good but the scrambled egg was dry, toast was hardly brown and dry Informed our order tab had got mislaid ? Our first and last time

Drove past and thought we give it a go. Well what more can I say but wow. This was the best breakfast we had ever had. Food was so tasty and cooked perfectly. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. Great price too. We will be going there more often.

Spotted sign for The Shed while driving from Colchester with a friend. Absolutely fantastic place. We both had jacket potatoes, one with lovely chilli, one with such a generous portion of prawns in sauce both freshly prepared with unusual salad! Best ever !

We went here straight after coming off the Harwich ferry. Opens nice and early, and serves a great breakfast. Everything cooked to order and plenty of toast too. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean loo. And a great latte to go.

The outstanding place for a fry up in Colchester, sits head and shoulders above the completion locally. Staff are lovely and owners friendly and accommodating. You have to try their tomatoes 🍅 unbelievable 🤤

Happened opon this lovely clean, well run, little gem of a place. The big breakfast is a very BIG BREAKFAST even for me. Parking was perfect and plentiful, (ideal for car meets) was told there is a posh car meet there on the 1st Saturday of every month, will arrange my next Saturday visit around this for sure. Staff were excellent, food beautiful and very plentiful. This is a genuine review from a genuine happy customer Steve Hughes

Stopped of for lunch on our way to Beth Chatto gardens (less than half a mile away). Nice outdoor seating. Very helpful and friendly staff. Had a veggie breakfast and a cheese/mushroom omelette with chips. Omelette really excellent, chips great. Tomatoes, mushrooms and veggie sausages also excellent. Fried eggs and hash browns a bit oily but otherwise good. We really enjoyed our meal. Around £16 for two (inc coffee).

The worst coffee I’ve had since I travelled on a train

Very busy from nearby work places. 2 queues ended up forming so waited ages to be served. Ended up leaving before ordering

My wife and I popped in for breakfast yesterday morning for the first time having recently moved to the area. We’re super lucky to have this walking distance from us. Good menu with plenty of options. Very clean and modern inside. Plenty of condiments neatly displayed, napkins, sugars and cutlery all there. We both had the All Day Breakfast and it was hard to fault. Sausages and bacon were delicious and cooked just right. Perfectly cooked egg and some delicious well-seasoned mushrooms. Service was impeccable and the team of young ladies in there were very warm and chatty, each one with a beautiful smile. Look forward to going back. Perfect place for a full English, a quick bite for lunch or tea/coffee and cake.

On our visit it was very clean and friendly staff this was our first visit here and it will not be our last.i would recommend this place going on our experience. Very clean premises, staff are very polite, ingredients are all good quality and cooked well. For £8.95 you get a meal that will fill you up all day, the only gripe was it was very oily and greasy, plate was swimming in it, the hash browns, mushrooms and eggs needed to sit and drain for a min before being dished up on the plate. I would go there again but my wife would not.

What a wonderful surprise to get a rise on valentine's Day. Made my day, oh and the food was as always fabulous. 🙂

We visited for the first time today (29/07/21) - we ordered a cheese & tomato omelette, a cheese panini, tea & latte. There were no paninis left so I settled for a cheese toastie. We waited nearly 25 minutes whilst people who came in after us were served before us. The omelette was ok. The toastie wasn't - it consisted of 2 slices of white bread, slightly toasted on the outside & soggy on the inside with tasteless, unmeltedcheese in the middle. There was a tired, unappetising garnish on both meals. The latte was ok the tea was too weak to make the top of the cup! The ladies who served were lovely but the bearded chap really needs a short course in customer relations! Definitely won't go back or recommend.

this is a great local cafe based on an industrial estate so can get busy during peak times, but friendly staff and a great menu choice, definitely worth a visit

I and a friend called in at the Shed last week for a light lunch which was most enjoyable. The cafe is very clean and attractive plenty of space and nice views from the windows. Staff very friendly and helpful. Wide variety of choice on the menu and all freshly cooked. I will certainly have this cafe as one of my favourite eating places.
