Nice place friendly staff&owners plenty going on there..

Very nice pub and restaurant, would go again. .

We went for Sunday lunch and found the food really good my wife is gluten free and it was not a problem good home cooked food the service and staff were fantastic really impressed

The young guy broke was very good happy and nice to have a chat. The day I went there was no food service on that day which was fine by me cos I only went for a couple of drinks

Popped in for a quick couple of pints on a walk. Meet with a miserable bar maid. No hello, Thankyou….nothing. Really disappointed with the attitude as would have ordered food. Their loss to miss out on business…..

I took my wife and mum n dad here for dinner the pub was very clean and big inside. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who's name was Libby who showed us to our table. She took our drinks order and we looked at the menu. We ordered our food and it was amazing. I would recommend this pub for drinks and food it was the best ive had . Once again thank you LIBBY FOR looking after us I will definitely be back

This is one of the nicest places for food and atmosphere, friendly staff and well worth a visit if on holiday or living here. We try to go there at least once a month.

It’s the first time my grandson and I had a meal in The Wick Lodge. It’s was absolutely superb. The staff were very attentive and went that extra mile to make sure my dietary needs were met! Had a large family get together for an 80th birthday celebration. Lovely food and great service. Friendly staff who were even kind enough to cut up the birthday cake for us after our meal. Lovely time had by all. Will definitely go again. Thank you

Come here on Friday with family great food all fresh and tasted great and service was outstanding couldn’t ask for much more! Our waitress Libby was amazing with her table side manner was lovely to have a laugh and a chat with her made our experience amazing she’s an asset to the company would definitely come back next time we are down visiting!

We have been 3 times and each time it's been amazing.

First time visit for a meal. One of the best pub grubs I’ve had for ages and the banter with the staff made for a relaxing evening.

My friend and I went for Sunday lunch as we'd had so many people tell us that it was the best roast around. The food was fine, I've definitely had better, but the best part of the afternoon was the staff. From the moment we walked in the front door to the moment we left, the staff were engaged, friendly, attentive and wholesome. They made us feel like we'd been going in every week for years and we were well looked after. Definitely somewhere I'd go back to, even just for a drink.

Paid my first visit on Sunday 5th Nov 2023, all of which was excellent and left me very pleasantly surprised. This prompted a second visit today (Weds 8th Nov 2023) and was again pleasantly surprised. The food was as excellent as before and about right with regards to portion sizes, but the highlight of our afternoon today was our server Libby. She was both attentive and efficient, which is always appreciated, however, where she really excells is with her tableside manner, which left us giggling throughout our visit and she is undoubtedly a real asset to the Wick Lodge. Well done Libby, keep it up 😁😁 x

Went to The Wick Lodge for Sunday Lunch with the family this weekend and had an excellent experience and service. The meat fell apart beautifully and could not fault any of the 3 courses. Service was exceptional by all (waiting staff + bar staff). A happy customer and more importantly a happy family! See you soon Wick Lodge!

Had lunch at a time that was very quiet with only a few people in the pub, therefore unable to comment on the atmosphere. Food was very good as was the service. Plenty of free parking

Absolutely amazing Sunday Roast eaten here today. I had Turkey, my dad and partner had Beef. Nice portion of meat, the largest yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and stuffing. The veg served separately. Food very tasty. I wanted a cheesecake but unfortunately I just had no room to eat anything else. I'll be back for that another time. Very friendly staff aswell.

Nice place. Good bar selection of beers, wines and spirits. Food is great but book ahead as they seat/feed to order - walk-ins are unlikely to be catered, especially on a Sunday when they only serve roasts (until 4.30pm). Plenty of parking. A bit more outdoor seating would be nice as the only outdoor area is taken over by smokers 🫤

Very good food, really large portions, staff very friendly and can't do enough for you but do not rush you. Can really recommend this place and looking forward to going back there.

Steak & Kidney pie. 4 Pints. Game of Squash 2 court's next door. Not many Pubs can Boast That. Cherish it. & Support British Pub.

Me and my friends visited the pub for St Patrick’s Day during the evening for the pubs live entertainment! We had a fantastic evening, this family run pub had such a warm feeling to it, the staff were very friendly yet proffessional and went above and beyond to make sure their guests were satisfied! The cleanliness was 5 star! Thankyou so much The Wick Lodge we look forward to our return!

Food was cold! Daughters food had hair in. No apology. One member of staff very miserable. Definitely a regulars pub. Would not recommend for food.

Dark pub. Functional tables. Noisy as tv football on and lots of groups of men. Obviously a favourite drinking pub. The food was quick tasty and very good as was the pleasant service.

The staff was friendly the place is fairly nice. I was not impressed with the plating on none of the dishes including the desserts. Maybe they can work a bit more on plating so the food would look more appealing. There's some room for toilets to be improved.

First timers to the lodge for a meal, staff friendly and attentive, the lady that served us was very friendly, food was ace, value for money, ribs and chicken was great. Desert finished me off! I made it to the car. Our 7 year old enjoyed the food also.100% will return!

I visit this pub and can honestly say with hand on heart this pub is by far the best in Clacton, the landlady is lovely the landlord is also a fantastic bloke the staff I have nothing but praise for. As for the food yes it may be What some call a limited menu but everything on it is cooked to perfection ok so they may not do steaks so go to a stake house. I visited wick lodge bar and restaurant this evening. I was impressed with all the adaptations for social distancing, track & trace and the outside area that Dan & Lisa have put in place. I ordered a chicken salad they always go the extra mile it was delicious. Dan prepared my order he took into account all my likes & dislikes. Keep up the good work Dan, Lisa & all the friendly helpful staff .

Great quality food and good varied menu. Proper home cooked food and very good portions. What makes this restaurant stand out to us was the attention of the staff. Very friendly and helpful, went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we could want and with some friendly banter and a smile.

Fantastic food and bargain prices. We visited to celebrate a belated birthday and the food was outstanding. Big meals small prices and food that was not the usual run of the mill food. Best tasting food I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

My family and i had a lovely meal here, was very family oriented and nothing was no problem. Our meal was excellentThe staff was excellent and very accommodating and nothing was to much trouble for them. Having 2 young children they provided colouring for them which kept them entertained Will defintely be visiting again

Basic pub food. Very limited selection, no steaks or anything interesting on the menu. Prawn cocktail pretty tasteless. Chips overcooked and soggy. Ribs undercooked and flavourless. Wings overcooked and hard to chew. would not go again.

We can always rely on Wick lodge to cater for all diet fads. I asked for our menu to be adapted and it was no trouble and very tasty.

We recently bought an old mobile home as we can't take a full wk off work and have found it harder than we imagined to find places to stay, especially as we always go last minute. Thankfully, after finding that few campsites (at least in this area) don't generally accommodate campers, we came across The Wick Inn. What a lovely bunch!! We explained our predicament and the wonderful owners didn't hesitate to offer us to park up for the night in their car park. We stayed and had our dinner there and we are glad we did as the food, although a fairly usual menu, was cooked really well with more than enough on the plate. The owners and staff alike where absolute gems, so glad we found this place! lovely countryside views while having a coffee in the morning too! Would recommend to pop in for a pint and a nice meal!

I spent the day at a family wedding. It was a nice place to be. The ceremony went well and surrounding were good. The outside was fine for photos. The meal was very good. The room was very comfortable and it felt laid back and no rush. All the staff were very nice. We had a great day and I would recommend it to anyone.

This venue is wonderful, nice causal decor, food is wonderful, plenty, nicely cooked, drinks a great selection, even a great place at the rear for wedding receptions don't go by with having a look for yourself

Our group of 15 attended Wick Lodge for a Sunday meal. We had pre-ordered our food requirements. The starters were almost a main meal in themselves.Prawn Cocktail heaped with prawns. The main course was mainly Beef.Lamb shank or turkey roast. The food was top quality and cooked to perfection.Quantity was exceptional.Desserts were honeycomb cheese cake, treacle puddings. Again very nice.The table service could not be faulted the staff were very pleasant and efficient. Also I have to mention the kitchen staff. Out of sight, but a special thankyou.Price was very good value. We have been here before and will continue to return.

Held our wedding here , very recently, and cannot praise it enough. Lisa made us welcome from the time of booking (last year) and has been there whenever we have need her. We visited the day before the ceremony, we went through the itinerary with Lisa, who made some suggestions, but eased us at what could be a very stressful time.
