A great place to go offering good food and a great live music venue. Loved it!

Politeness all people severing at the bar was great and friendly

Many dishes on the menu were unavailable on both occasions I visited. The food that we did have was very nice.

6 adults staying at St Osyth beach holiday park so popped here for Sunday roast only 10 mins up the road starters/ roast dinner/deserts were gorgeous all home cooked waitress / bar staff very friendly and welcoming highly recommend

Just back from a weekend away and found this place on Google maps to have a spot of Sunday lunch. It really was a great find! Roast dinners spot on. Our party of 6 had pork, lamb shank, beef, turkey, with all the trimmings. All of us praised it up and the deserts are proper old school. For the price, you can't go wrong. If you're in the St Osyth or Clacton area give this place a go. Phone to book. Though it wasn't busy, I think they need to know who's popping in. So best to phone. Seriously, great dinner. Oh, and the burger and chips, if you wanna go that route, looked good too. Enjoy.

Leaving this review. Highly recommend placed. Absolutely fantastic food, staff friendly and excellent service. Our first choice of Sunday roast then change to the triple meat Sunday roast. Most definitely not disappointed and food portions was excellent. We are stuffed lol 😆

We went here after receiving a recommendation, and we're really glad we did! It doesn't look much from the outside, and indeed, the interior isn't much to write home about either! However, the food and service were absolutely first class. We were a party of 4, and we all thought that the food was well cooked and utterly delicious. The gentleman who served us was a delight also, with nothing being too much trouble. On our midweek lunchtime visit, it wasn't particularly busy, which is a shame as this was the best pub food I've eaten in Clacton. Perhaps its location in Jaywick puts people off.

Popped in for a quick couple of pints on a walk. Meet with a miserable bar maid. No hello, Thankyou….nothing. Really disappointed with the attitude as would have ordered food. Their loss to miss out on business…..

I took my wife and mum n dad here for dinner the pub was very clean and big inside. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who's name was Libby who showed us to our table. She took our drinks order and we looked at the menu. We ordered our food and it was amazing. I would recommend this pub for drinks and food it was the best ive had . Once again thank you LIBBY FOR looking after us I will definitely be back

This is one of the nicest places for food and atmosphere, friendly staff and well worth a visit if on holiday or living here. We try to go there at least once a month.

It’s the first time my grandson and I had a meal in The Wick Lodge. It’s was absolutely superb. The staff were very attentive and went that extra mile to make sure my dietary needs were met! Come here on Friday with family great food all fresh and tasted great and service was outstanding couldn’t ask for much more! Our waitress Libby was amazing with her table side manner was lovely to have a laugh and a chat with her made our experience amazing she’s an asset to the company would definitely come back next time we are down visiting!

First time visit for a meal. One of the best pub grubs I’ve had for ages and the banter with the staff made for a relaxing evening.

My friend and I went for Sunday lunch as we'd had so many people tell us that it was the best roast around. The food was fine, I've definitely had better, but the best part of the afternoon was the staff. From the moment we walked in the front door to the moment we left, the staff were engaged, friendly, attentive and wholesome. They made us feel like we'd been going in every week for years and we were well looked after. Definitely somewhere I'd go back to, even just for a drink.

Paid my first visit on Sunday 5th Nov 2023, all of which was excellent and left me very pleasantly surprised. This prompted a second visit today (Weds 8th Nov 2023) and was again pleasantly surprised. The food was as excellent as before and about right with regards to portion sizes, but the highlight of our afternoon today was our server Libby. She was both attentive and efficient, which is always appreciated, however, where she really excells is with her tableside manner, which left us giggling throughout our visit and she is undoubtedly a real asset to the Wick Lodge. Well done Libby, keep it up 😁😁 x

Went to The Wick Lodge for Sunday Lunch with the family this weekend and had an excellent experience and service. The meat fell apart beautifully and could not fault any of the 3 courses. Service was exceptional by all (waiting staff + bar staff). A happy customer and more importantly a happy family! See you soon Wick Lodge!

Absolutely amazing Sunday Roast eaten here today. I had Turkey, my dad and partner had Beef. Nice portion of meat, the largest yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and stuffing. The veg served separately. Food very tasty. I wanted a cheesecake but unfortunately I just had no room to eat anything else. I'll be back for that another time. Very friendly staff aswell.

Nice place. Good bar selection of beers, wines and spirits. Food is great but book ahead as they seat/feed to order - walk-ins are unlikely to be catered, especially on a Sunday when they only serve roasts (until 4.30pm). Plenty of parking. A bit more outdoor seating would be nice as the only outdoor area is taken over by smokers 🫤

Very good food, really large portions, staff very friendly and can't do enough for you but do not rush you. Can really recommend this place and looking forward to going back there.

Steak & Kidney pie. 4 Pints. Game of Squash 2 court's next door. Not many Pubs can Boast That. Cherish it. & Support British Pub.

Me and my friends visited the pub for St Patrick’s Day during the evening for the pubs live entertainment! We had a fantastic evening, this family run pub had such a warm feeling to it, the staff were very friendly yet proffessional and went above and beyond to make sure their guests were satisfied! The cleanliness was 5 star! Thankyou so much The Wick Lodge we look forward to our return!

Food was cold! Daughters food had hair in. No apology. One member of staff very miserable. Definitely a regulars pub. Would not recommend for food.

What a find! Staff very pleasant and great roast at a fantastic price .... and so many vegetables (which I usually find lacking in many establishments). In fact, there was so much food there was no room for dessert!. Thank you.

Dark pub. Functional tables. Noisy as tv football on and lots of groups of men. Obviously a favourite drinking pub. The food was quick tasty and very good as was the pleasant service.

The staff was friendly the place is fairly nice. I was not impressed with the plating on none of the dishes including the desserts. Maybe they can work a bit more on plating so the food would look more appealing. There's some room for toilets to be improved.

First timers to the lodge for a meal, staff friendly and attentive, the lady that served us was very friendly, food was ace, value for money, ribs and chicken was great. Desert finished me off! I made it to the car. Our 7 year old enjoyed the food also.100% will return!

I visit this pub and can honestly say with hand on heart this pub is by far the best in Clacton, the landlady is lovely the landlord is also a fantastic bloke the staff I have nothing but praise for. As for the food yes it may be What some call a limited menu but everything on it is cooked to perfection ok so they may not do steaks so go to a stake house. I visited wick lodge bar and restaurant this evening. I was impressed with all the adaptations for social distancing, track & trace and the outside area that Dan & Lisa have put in place. I ordered a chicken salad they always go the extra mile it was delicious. Dan prepared my order he took into account all my likes & dislikes. Keep up the good work Dan, Lisa & all the friendly helpful staff .

Great quality food and good varied menu. Proper home cooked food and very good portions. What makes this restaurant stand out to us was the attention of the staff. Very friendly and helpful, went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we could want and with some friendly banter and a smile.

Fantastic food and bargain prices. We visited to celebrate a belated birthday and the food was outstanding. Big meals small prices and food that was not the usual run of the mill food. Best tasting food I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
