Cup of coffee in Tendring

As always we had a fantastic meal, I come here 1/2 times a week with my one year old and this week we brought my partner along and he loved it. I’ve had breakfast in every cafe in clacton and this is my fav. Great quality food. The only place I actually have meat. Staff are always attentive and a great vibe. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good old English breakfast. The kids meals are fantastic and also free which is such a wonderful thing to do.

First visit . Great coffee and huge sausage roll ! Will visit again possibly when warmer and can sit outside . Always seems very popular.

In my opinion the best place in town for food. Staff are always so friendly And the food is lovely! Always try and visit when in town. Definitely worth a visit!

We called here for a coffee on the way to town. We had our dog with us but it wasn’t a problem to take her in. The service was very friendly and the coffee was perfect.

This is my favourite cafe/coffee shop by a mile. The staff are so friendly. Plenty of parking close by, short walk to train station. Best coffee, excellent breakfasts. Cakes to die for. Doorstep sandwiches. The owner and his staff are so nice and it's a real suntrap on a hot day. Great for having a break and just watching the world go by. Big umbrellas for shade if u don't want sat in the sun.

A nice clean cafe with inside and outside seating. Good quality ingredients well cooked. They don't skimp on portion sizes either. Tea and coffee were both up to scratch. Recommended

We stopped in this Bistro Cafe on Saturday to have breakfast/brunch after travelling up from London. There is only a small breakfast menu but the 2 meals that we had were properly cooked and very tasty. If you want a Healthy option then there is smashed Avocado on toast and they also offer a Vegan Breakfast. The coffee is wonderful. It's the place to eat breakfast/brunch in Clacton on Sea.

Meet friends every couple of weeks at Jaco's. Always welcoming. Lovely interesting salad bar. Today had the vegetarian breakfast. Scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes (instead of beans), avocado and halumi. Cooked to perfection and very delicious!

I go to Jacos, Cup of Coffee, frequently. Staff are all friendly, nothing is too much. Food is brilliant.

Well the cup of coffee ,is an amazing place to go ,the staff are very friendly,the food is like no other,it's lovely and hot like the coffee.your not rushed, you can sit and talk to each other,its like home from home ,the owner is lovely to. He's hands on. Room for prams, pushchair and wheelchair too . So don't miss the cup of coffee ,not to be missed .

Call in for a quick snack. There was only a young lady behind the counter said there may be a delay on food as her boss was out looking for toilet roll (Virsus stricks) No indication that anyone is affected guess stealing the roll. Food was good when he did return and all fresh. Good to see uses Yorkshire tea,

Visited a few times now, the lunch menu offers a great choice of items. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to others.

Had a wonderful lunch the food was great and really child friendly with really helpful and happy staff my kids really enjoyed their food and they are normally quite fussy I will be coming back soon

Excellent little coffee shop!. We were visiting from Canada for a family funeral in Feb 2020. We were staying across the street at the Travelodge and, we popped in for coffee a few times. The gingerbread lattes are awesome, I loved them and my dad actually finally found a place that had coffee creamers for the coffee instead of just milk which finding the creamers was a great feat!!. We also tried the crumpets and porridge as well, which were very tasty! When we come to visit family again in Clacton on Sea, we will definitely be stopping in again. Great staff, very friendly. Thank you very much, hope to see you again when we plan another visit over the pond!!!

Came in for lunch and had some lovely prepared sandwiches, we also had two children In our group and they got their meals to them first to keep them amused which was a lovely idea. Nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely to be served by someone with a smile and warm welcoming service. If ever we are In the area we will definitely come in again.

We has a lovely cooked breakfast here on Friday. Delicious, well cooked and piping hot. Really enjoyed it. Staff are always very friendly and helpful too. Many thanks and see you next time.

This coffee house makes the best sandwiches in town and their frappes are gorgeous!! Faye and Charlie are soo welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them! I am disabled and they never hesitate to bring my coffee and food over to my seating to help me! Sofas are soo comfortable and lovely view of main town perfect for people watching! Definitely worth a visit,I am a regular!Lyn xx

A welcome break from shopping. Clean and comfortable surroundings, friendly staff and a really good cup of tea. Could have had a pot of tea but too much shopping to do!

I have recently moved to Clacton and when finding my way around I popped in for a coffee and after had several lunches there. The staff are always friendly, good fun and helpful. No wonder the place is always full of people enjoying meeting friends and sampling the delightful snacks.

me my wife and our teenage son nipped in here for a quick drink whilst browsing around the town. its not a bad place, but not great. downstairs was clean and tidy but upstairs where we sat was a bit dated and a little tatty. the prices were reasonable but upon reading the menus it became apparent that the menus were out of date and they had increased them on their blackboard only and the out of date menus with the cheaper price were on all the tables. me and the wife had coffees and our son had a thick shake. he enjoyed the shake but our coffees tasted a little bitter. the staff were friendly enough and quite welcoming.if you do visit check the prices match on menus with blackboard down stairs

A perfect place to catch up with friends on Clacton High Street. We had delicious chai lattes and carrot cake, both of which I would highly recommend. Very reasonable prices and plenty of seating although big groups would need to book in advance.

lovely coffee house everyone chats to you a lot of regulars get in here and the staff are nice. Shame that the ltoilets are shared

Affordable and friendly staff. Upstairs was closed but has comfy chairs and is good for people watching.

Metimos en con mi hija mientras compras. No comimos pero el capuchino que tuvimos eran encantadoras con chocolate generoso sprinklers y a un precio muy razonable. La señorita que servía era agradables y atentos, pero el servicio era bastante lento. El único inconveniente era que el oscuro y deprimente y el café le faltaba un ambiente acogedor, pero a nuestro gusto personal.

I ordered a mocha for myself and a got chocolate for my girlfriend. Both were cold, as soon as I sat down with the drinks I downed mine and my girlfriend didn't even drink hers. In hindsight we should have complained there and then but...

Good to see this non-chain cafe is still here.We breakfasted here again on Sunday and Monday morning. The bagel with salmon and cream cheese on Sunday was excellent as were my husband's bagel with brie and cranberry both mornings. This morning I tried their plum tomatoes on toast and really enjoyed this for a change of breakfast food.Very nice young ladies serving us and a nice atmosphere. If you are staying in the Travelodge it's a stones throw away and only a short walk from the Premier Inn and ideal for a lighter breakfast or a coffee any time of day. Recommended!

Absolutely love the updated decor, tables chairs and floor are amazing, so current and modern. So pleased they've done it up as I love it in there.The upstairs looks swanky with the multicoloured sofas too!People need to get out of their own backside and quit moaning! No coffee shop has tables for 6 people, and why do you need a huge table to put your coffee cup on?? Get a life!

Won't be coming to cup of coffee anymore. It's so cold in there most days you may as well sit outside. As for the new seats there hard and cold. There are times when we have a party of 6 or more people now we struggle to find space with those small tables. Can never understand why the radiators are all off

This cafe faces The Travelodge Hotel which does not have a restaurant. I found that this cafe was ideal for breakfast. A freshly made bacon bap and a hot drink cost a mere £3.45. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter. I was even given a free mince pie on Christmas Eve! there is a great selection of hot drinks with seating both inside and at the front of the premises. It also seems to be favourite for local people too.

This was our regular coffee shop until it changed hands. Back for the first time in a while. Glad to see refirbishment imminent! Guess that's a mark of success. Coffee was nice but missed the tray bakes. Maybe they will be reinstated with the new decor?

Support this place if you can, it's been here for a while now and the coffee is good and they offer a nice selection of snacks, cakes, sandwiches and soups at affordable prices. It's a local business rather than a large chain and I think is better than the chain for affordability and variety.

I came in yesterday afternoon 21/11/16 and the atmosphere was lovely . Thoroughly enjoyed my time in here and the 2 girls serving were so polite, happy and helpful . I will look forward to going again very soon

Cannot fault it! Had one of the new Christmas style drinks, and a bacon panini. Me and my family love it here!

It was very refreshing to be offered cappuccino with cinnamon sprinkled on the top instead of chocolate! There was the opportunity to get a cinnamon syrup - at an extra charge - instead of the powder but I opted for the powder.The only thing that I was not happy with was the teacake - which came ready buttered. I do like to regulate the amount of butter that goes on them!

Came here with a young lady I support who has learning disabilities The young lady that served her was very nice chatting to her made us feel very welcome a credit to your team Will be back again for more Nutella hot chocolate

Visited cup of coffee as my family live in Clacton, from my experience I wouldn't go back, if you want crap service and the worst bacon roll please go there, I decided to go else where up the road, people who live in Clacton please try coffee link it's wonderful and the service is second to none.

Staying at the Travelodge we used Cup of Coffee for breakfast both mornings and came back for a tea break as well one afternoon.Bagel with cream cheese and salmon so nice I had it both mornings for breakfast.This is a lovely small cafe offering an excellent choice of items at reasonable prices. Recommended!

I and my family went to have a bit of lunch, thought we come toCup of coffee first time for us and very disappointing, toasted bacon n cheese bagel wasn't toasted was soft and chewy (don't microwave bagels they turn chewy) chicken sandwich well not worth the money you charge falls apart. The jacket potato was ok but who on earth thinks that tortilla chips and olives are OK for garnishes. A little salad will go better on the plates and would look better than olives and tortilla chips maybe just tortilla chips on sandwiches only.

Visited for a latte this morning, was really great tasting & a lovely little local coffee shop. They cater for lactose intolerant people like myself & made me a lovely soya latte. A good selection of syrups too

As a business owner i appreciate the hard work small local business do. But this offering was poor very very poor.This was without doubt "The Worst Sandwich" i have ever been served. I took one bite and sat back in my chair, shocked, at how bad this so called sandwich actually was.It was cold, with no lovely cooked bacon smell, no butter, just dry slice`s of bread, with rubber like bits of bacon in the middle.I would not give this to the Sea Gulls, and if i had he would have spat it out !!!If you are going to serve food have some enthusiasm for what you are serving.To be fair to the staff at Cup of Coffee; the young girl on the till gave us our monies back and apologised .

Went with the Wife 2 A Cup of Coffee ( been going there 4 about 6 years ) always have a round of toast ? don't know if there r new owners, but the toast today was so thin that u could c light through it, it was always thick lovely toast ., hope this is a one off, otherwise we will go elsewhere for our lunch ,shame really as on a nice day it's nice 2 sit outside in the sun

Lovely cuppa, tried various snacks as well and keep going back when we're in town. Also gets a plus because it has wifi you can use when you're there, enabling me to check my emails whilst on the go and not relying on mobile phone data.

i always write positive reviews but must say in this case not so.went there with mum in wheelchair small but staff made space and ordered drinks our coffees were good hot and good value mums hot choc was not hot so told staff member who said will change it she returned with the same glass cup mum said still wasnt hot waitress retorted it is i stuck my finger in it and its hot we have drinks out a lot and will not return!! maybe staff member on off day but the experience wasnt good

I truly recommend this cafe staff are very welcoming very friendly if your disabled like myself in a chair with a Assistance Dog they go to great lengths to move chairs to let you get in let's face it it is not huge inside they could view seeing folk like me as cluttering up but instead go right out of their way to smile and welcome you.Food is plentiful big choice nicely cooked no wonder it is always full.Yes if your disabled in a chair the welcome will be world class in summer you can see the world go by sitting outside

Love the hot chocolate and toasted teacakes, great prices. Shame they stopped doing border biscuits and don't stock walkers crisps though.

Most coffee houses offer warmish coffee but this was piping hot which was a lovely surprise. So nice to have a chat with friends and your drink doesn't go cold immediately. Plenty of snacks , see photo . Staff were happy and friendly . Comfy indoor and outside seating and so close to town when you need a break.

Mum and I often visit for a hot drink when in town, its prices are reasonable and the taste great, they're also doing Xmas specials right now.

If you are looking for a good value cuppa then this is the place for youWith tea at only just over a pound and coffee starting at £1.50 and sandwiches and jacket potatoes from £3.50 you won't break the bank. Situated just inland from the shopping centre and only 10 minutes from the beach it's worth the stroll

Quality really very good shame our weather is so up and down as seating out side is so great watching the world hurrying along as you enjoy a great value coffee or cup of tea with maybe a eat or two. For disable easy getting in side might need a bit of juggling around some seating. Assistance Dogs / Guide Dogs get well look after. Nice staff

This is a traditional little coffee shop serving all the expected hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches for refreshment on a day out. Enjoyed our stop and the staff are great!
