Just enjoyed the most delicious lunch at this lovely, friendly, cosy countryside cafe. Had to check twice that I am on the right page because we thought the previous reviewer might have been to a different eatery to us! Service was quick, friendly and the home-made food was first class. Prices very reasonable and servings generous. Jacket potatoes perfectly cooked, soft inside and crispy outside. Plenty of butter too. Delicious home made quiche. No blaring radio which was a joy and we brought home a delicious apricot and chocolate slice to enjoy later as the main course filled us up, Clean plates said it all. Thank you Orchard Cafe owner and staff.

Make sure you read the prices before ordering. I paid £9 for two milkshakes that looked like they were made with Nesquik, £5 for a bog standard ham sandwich and my latte was watery and didn’t taste of coffee at all. The cafe doesn’t take cards so you are then escorted to the tills in the shop to pay. This is a place not suited to children simply because the existing clientele spend their whole time glaring at them like they shouldn’t be there. I felt uncomfortable as everyone seemed put out by our 6 month old babies chattering. I won’t be back.

First time here and the last. Ordered a latte, pot of tea, fruit scone and bacon roll latte was tasteless but hot, tea was served in metal tea pot that was in need of a good clean. Scone was dry and the bacon was served in a bog standard cheap roll, what a disappointment. Definitely not going back.

Have been coming to this cafe/tea room for sometime and every trip has been wonderful. Went on Monday after coming out of shielding not knowing what we would find. I needn’t have worried, every safety measure was in place, staff as always were very welcoming and the tea cake was fantastic. Back for lunch next.

What a find! Such a tasty lunch stop. We happened across a little Farm Shop and Tearoom sign and headed there in the hope of a decent cream tea! We were thrilled with the food, tasty homemade sandwiches, generous pot of tea and delicious scones for our cream tea! We have tried and tested many cream teas and this was one of the best! Very reasonably priced for such quality.

Saw the word tearoom on the road sign and gad we decided to stop. The tea room is relaxing and the service and food is excellent. Not one of us had a complaint. The farm shop received our custom too! Will certainly recommend you to others and use you again should we return to the area.

On our way to Frinton, I'd remembered seeing a sign for this place so I detoured and mum and I had lunch in the tearoom. There were specials of quiche, new potatoes and salad, minestrone soup with a roll, jacket potato with coronation chicken. We both plumped for the latter. The plates arrived piled high with salad and filling in the potato. Also, cubes of butter and sachets of margarine in a little bowl on the plates. Condiments were complementary and on the table. Best coronation chicken I've ever had. Lovely place for lunch.

Stopped here for great and tasty produce. Cannot beat fresh from the tree Apples! Needing refreshment before a lengthy journey back, tried the Orchard Cafe. Great cakes and coffee from a clean and comfortable environment. They do light lunches too! Another time, for certain! Friendly and welcoming staff made this a welcome break for sure. Would make a great place for a group gathering! I will be back!

My partner and I have been frequenting this Cafe for 2.5 years, ever since we moved to Frinton from London. We find the food delicious, the staff charming and the whole experience Lovely. The staff more or less know what we are going to have when we go in because we love certain things on the menu. We would recommend this Cafe to anyone, it's so convenient to pop down pork lane on our way back from shopping in Clacton, and the farm shop you have to pass through to enter the restaurant is quality. You have our custom always - Stu & Sue Rogers.

We went to PYO plums and found this cafe at the back of the farm shop. The property isn't well signposted, but once on Pork Lane, you can't miss it as it's on a sharp bend. The car park was almost full when we arrived and cars were parked, blocking access to the caravan storage to the rear. The PYO plums were great - we recommend Czar and Reeves varieties - much better than anything form a supermarket. The cafe offers a good range of cakes, many made using ingredients grown on the farm. the area is light and airy. The strawberry tart was great, as was the spicy carrot cake. They also make light lunches, such as paninis. Service was very prompt and the staff were very friendly. A great bargain at £7 for 2 cakes, a coffee and a pot of tea - it was nice to get a pot of hot water for the tea that most done bother with. I wish that we lived closer!

Visiting the area, we had seen a local newspaper ad for pick your own plums, so we thought that we would give this a go! The property is located between Thorpe le Soken and Great Holland and has a poor, hand-written sign on Thorpe Road (B1033) directing you down Pork Lane. The property was easy to find on the bend and we found one of the last slots in the car park. The property is an odd mix of farm shop at the front of the building, cafe to the rear, PYO fruit trees to the rear and caravan storage off to the side. We picked two bags of plums from the orchard, which make supermarket produce taste like rubbish. The Czar and Reeves were the tastiest when we were there in late August. The cafe offers a good selection of homemade cakes, sandwiches and light lunches. They use their own produce, where possible. We had a slice of spicy carrot cake and a strawberry cream tart, with a mug of coffee and a pot of tea, all for a bargain £7. Thumbs up for the pot of tea also coming with a pot of boiling water. Service was excellent. The farm shop has a large fridge containing a selection of their own pressed apple juices, cheaper if you bring your own container along. There is a small selection of bread plus the usual array of veg plus their own suit if you don't want to go and pick your own.

The pub is run by an old lady who likes a nice chat. It is a real English pub. Great food. You can spend the night here with your camper in the parking lot when you come or go to or from the Ferry in Harwich.

A lovely place to enjoy a delicious home cooked lunch, sandwiches or home made cakes at reasonable prices in pleasant surroundings and lovely welcoming staff. We always look forward to going there when we have to visit Clacton hospital as it is just across the road. Do give it a try!
