I wanted a cooked breakfast but have to eat gluten free because of coeliac disease. Initially it looked like the only option was a cold sandwich, then the chef came to speak to me and offered to cook my food separately on foil under the grill. It was delicious and I'm really grateful for her efforts to accommodate me.

Reunited over a delicious full breakfast including a slice of glutenfree toast. Wonderful portions. Very good coffee and it is even possible to get a spoonful of honey instead of sugar.

Visited today. Busy at lunchtime. Food good as usual. Seated in the smaller back area. Floor very grubby., Room to side of where we were sitting ??kitchen as staff went in and out with food. The door to this room was filthy. The only part that looked a little cleaner was the part which was used to push the door open. (Swing door) The whole place just looked as though a facelift was needed. Used to be a regular visitor, but hadn’t been able to visit for a few months. Even the toilet looked as though it could do with a bit of a wash and dust. Perhaps the cleaner has left. Would have commented while in the cafe, but there were others around. Pity because it’s always been a great little place with friendly staff.

Popped in for a late lunch after a breezy walk. Delicious toasted sandwiches with sundried tomatoes, pesto, olives and mozzarella. Just right. Coffee was good too.

My friend and I usually visit here for lunch, a jacket potato, beans and no dressing on the salad. We came early today and looked at the breakfast menu, I confided we were on the Slimming World plan and the young lady immediately said she could cook anything we wanted with frylight, we just had to let them know when ordering. I’m vegetarian, so had two eggs, beans, tomato, mushrooms and shared the brown toast with my friend, perfect! The coffee is also great. Would heartily recommend, the staff are helpful and friendly, there is a little courtyard at the back too. Xx

Popped in here for a bit of brunch while staying in the area for a few days, very friendly service and everyone else in the place seemed to be a regular with lots of chat going on. Coffee was of a good standard and breakfast rolls were well filled with quality produce and very good value.

Nice atmosphere in the Cafe Chic, staff are polite and welcoming as soon as you step thru the door, menu is short and sweet with ample choices even for the fussy eaters, general ambience is very nice and food is nicely presented and tasty with local produce used. Would definitely recommend this cafe to friends and family when visiting Brightlingsea.

I visited here last week with a friend and my daughter and her friend as a half term lunch out. We were visiting the area from London and although it looked busy the waitress was really accommodating and found us two tables together. We ordered three panini for the others and I had a delicious piece of Victoria sponge. Everyone loved their food, and we will definitely be back when in the area again.

We had visitors from York & took them to Brightlingsea & found this cafe. Food was very good & lovely coffee. Staff very helpful & smiley. Cafe itself was nicely decorated & clean. The only thing that let it down was the toilets, really need a paint up,looked a bit grubby.

My husband and I have been to Cafe Chic a few times now, so I thought I'd review it.The cafe is small but we've not had trouble getting a table when we've visited. They also have a garden area but I'm yet to use this (maybe in spring/summer).The menu is ample and not overwhelming, and the staff are happy to accommodate slight changes to ingredients on request. We enjoyed panini and slices of cake, as well as a hot chocolate and cup of tea.The cafe is popular for people of all ages, we saw families, young lads, couples and older folk tucking into their breakfasts and lunches. The cafe offers a menu with breakfast and lunch at the same time which is helpful if for example you would like a full English but your partner fancies a panini, not all the local cafes offer this. The staff are very friendly, and accepting of the banter from the young lads as much as gentle conversation with the older folk. The view from the cafe is of the main High Street and Victoria Place, with a view straight over to the war memorial, so a great place to watch the comings and goings of the town while you await your food. The food is tasty and filling (the coleslaw on the side is delicious) and we will definitely be back again soon.

I often pop in for coffee with my husband or friends but today was the first time I have had lunch and it was excellent. Chicken and bacon salad with red onion chutney, an unusual combination but it sounded interesting and it worked well. Good coffee as always. It is in a good central position to shop in the small town and all the staff are nice and not pushy, we shall certainly have lunch there again

Friendly staff, decent menu, good choice. Food was well presented and tasty. I'd have given it a 5 but the tea was only in a cup not a pot, it was priced appropriately but I always prefer a pot.

Place is pretty small but always busy. I had a cup of hot chocolate and toasted cheese sandwich. Both were nice and just as expected. Staff are non discript really just take order , don't smile or make any conversation. It's seems a popular place but I could take it or leave it.

Founds this lovely little cafe. Great for lunch. Warm and cosy. Had the all day breakfast. Very reasonably priced for £3.95 for fried egg, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms and toast (other options available). Good selection of baked potatoes and fillings also. Many other items too. The only thing I would suggest is some of the chairs need painting (and one fabric seat by the kitchen door needs chucking out!) and the priority is the kitchen door needs and lick of paint to freshen it up! Otherwise bravo!

Really nice little place that I have visited a few times since it opened. Lovely cake and a nice atmosphere. Staff were very welcoming and happy to chat and laugh which is lovely. It's also very well situated in the centre of this lovely little seaside town. It's just a short drive from historic Colchester and worth a visit if you're in the area.

Had the pleasure of going into Cafe chic for the first time, and the decor is lovely and modern, definitely different from other places in Brightlingsea. Although I did find that the hot chocolate tasted a bit bitter considering, the service was lovely and to the point.

Nice to find a good little 'non greasy spoon' type cafe. Reminded me a little of an old fashioned tea room but a tad more modern. Good breakfast, lunch and snack menu and not too expensive. Friendly staff. Popped in for a coffee and a bun but have also have had breakfast a few times.

The pub is run by an old lady who likes a nice chat. It is a real English pub. Great food. You can spend the night here with your camper in the parking lot when you come or go to or from the Ferry in Harwich.
