Harry's Bar & Restaurant in Tendring

My partner and I had a fantastic meal here during our stay at the Lifehouse spa. We were not impressed (and ripped off!) with the dinner at Lifehouse spa so decided to try a local restaurant. We had the sharing roast for 2. Meal was delicious, very generous portion, beautiful homemade gravy, Yorkshire pudding and 3 different meats. Ambience was great, groovy music, classy decor, the owner even came and had a chinwag with us :) Very impressed! Belly full and at a very decent price, we will definitely be coming back!

Stunning meal yet again at Harry’s! The food was immaculately presented, hot, quick to come out & tasted amazing. Tim & the team were so accommodating & friendly. Can’t wait for next time. Thank you Harry’s Bar.

Harry’s bar is such an amazing spot weather you want drinks in the gorgeous garden terrace or an outstanding meal in the restaurant I’ve been here many of times over the years and has never disappointed me once. staff are always so attentive and polite nothing is ever to much and the owner is a lovely guy who really cares about his business and he customer can not fault anything.

I can win with 3 of my friends and it was incredible the staff were amazing and the food was perfect couldn’t recommend this beautiful restaurant more . We were lucky enough to come on a warm day so we sat in the gorgeous terrace area 😍.

We enjoy every visit to Harry’s Bar due to the excellent customer service, great atmosphere and fabulous food. Visited today for lunch and the owner recommended we try the Bao Buns-we were not disappointed! Having eating our way through the menu over the years it was great to try something new and they were just as good as everything else on the menu. Fantastic service and food! The hanging kebab which was incredible and so fresh. Everyone loved their food and the cocktails were a must. The owner made everyone feel so welcome adding a personal touch that won’t be forgotten. So glad we came here, a new frequent for us for sure!

This bar and restaurant in Thorpe le Soken has a great ambience and is very clean in all areas. Indoor dining area, bar and outside sun terrace. All of the staff are really friendly and provide great service at the bar and in the restaurant. A varied menu with food freshly prepared to order.

We had a fantastic dinner at Harry's. Thank you to the sous chef, Cerys, who took over for the night and prepared three incredible courses, 'Jackie Whackie' for the great service and Tim for the chat about the food and restaurant.. we will absolutely be back when we're in the area.

We recently dined at Harry' Bar and reasturant. We had an excellent experience, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the menu offered a wide array of dishes. Our waiter, Jack, was truly outstanding. He was very attentive, friendly and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Jack recommend the special 10 oz ribeye steak offer, which did not dissapoint. The food was suburb, both dishes were beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. Overall, was a lovely night out. We where staying at Lifehouse spa, down the road and thought we would try here after seeing the reviews. Thank you to everyone working at Harry's for a wonderful time. We will definitely visit again.

Absolutely amazing Monday Steak Night at Harry’s Bar tonight! Steak cooked exactly as requested, great accompaniments and service, as always, was friendly and prompt. Can’t believe the value of a rib eye steak with all the trimmings AND a drink of your choice for less than £25. No corners cut - lovely meal x

What absolutely Iovely people. Food was delicious and service spot on, sat on the terrace that was spotless and comfy. Good choices on menu.

Food was amazing. Roast platter was incredible with so much food. The cauliflower cheese is a must. The biscoff cheesecake is also a must. The drinks/cocktails are amazing. Definitely coming back soon.

I have been coming to Harry’s for many years and whilst the roast dinner has always been amazing today’s experience was another level! I have never enjoyed a roast dinner so much. From the quality of the meat to the addictive cauliflower cheese! Service was exceptional and today’s visit has made my Sunday.

Went for a roast today (31st march) with family! There was 5 of us and we ordered 2 roast sharing boards plus cauliflower cheese! The boards arrived full of chicken, lamb and beef, roast potatoes and amazing homemade Yorkshire puddings, sharing boards come with mixed vegetables and jugs of gravy! There was plenty of food to the point we took away a doggy bag for the family dog haha! Great atmosphere, salsa music vibe going on! Staff very polite, attentive and friendly!

Family treated me to a meal out for my up and coming 40th birthday! We had a Banging roast 💪🏽! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was great!

Wow.popped in at lunchtime and was blown away by the quality of food.great quality and very reasonably priced.i would recommend the jack daniels rack of ribs..the coleslaw is to die for.great friendly service and a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Highly recommend.

My wife and myself had the lamb for our main meal,my wife normally will not have lamb as she likes it well done which is hard to get the chiefs to do, not the case here you can have it as you like it.Absolutely lovely...

Stayed at lifehouse spa and decided to venture out for dinner. Lovely food and fab service. We’ll definitely be returning when back in the area and highly recommend.

Took my kids for a bit of lunch while on half term, The lunch menu was perfect and such good value. I love this place, such a great atmosphere and everyone is so friendly. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

The food was terrible. My seabass was overcooked and my potatoes were undercooked. There was barely any lamb on my partners lamb shish and the vegetables were dry.

This is the second time that we have visited Harry’s Bar and it certainly won’t be our last. Our waiter Luke was spot on throughout the whole evening. We didn’t have to wait for him and he was knowledgeable about the dishes on offer and the specials. We went with his recommendations and was happy that we did. We shared the Asian platter and the taste was amazing. I had the rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce and my partner had the beef wellington. We both thought the food was delicious and the service was excellent. This will definitely be our new first choice Of restaurant and couldn’t fault it at all. Luke your a great waiter, very friendly and helpful.

I arranged lunch here for family to celebrate my mums 90th birthday. Food was excellent and the Sunday Roast was impressively presented and generous. Best of all though was the atmosphere and the magnificent service by the staff. They organised the whole restaurant in a round of Happy Birthday and couldn’t have been more attentive. Thank you to all the fellow diners and a huge thank you to the staff, brilliant.

After staying at the spa locally we decided to go to Harry's bar for a late lunch/early dinner. It was fab, will definitely be going back.

Had a lovely lunch today with friends and my husband, three of us had the hanging kebab which was really tasty, there was plenty it comes with two sides we chose salad and chips/sweet potato fries/skinny fries, the meze board was very good too.Staff were very helpful and jolly, we will certainly be going back there.

My visit to Harry’s started off on the right foot with an amazing welcome from Nathan as soon as I walked through the door. This was followed by outstanding food and a relaxing afternoon, made so much better by great service from all staff. I do have to give Nathan a second mention as he was so attentive and never stopped smiling

went to Harry’s for the second time yesterday with my family and wasn’t disappointed! the hanging kebab was delicious and my mum had sea bass which was mouth watering,the service was very attentive and the whole vibe was relaxing and chilled,overall our visit won’t be the last , well done the harrys team

We went here a couple of weeks ago to try it out as we were moving to the village and I have to say very let down everything covered in pesto to the point nothing else had any flavour service slow and the lamb kabab was tough and again covered in to much such a shame as the setting is lovely

Beautiful experience. Sat outside with my mum for a pre birthday lunch. The service was amazing, food was beautiful and so well presented. Portions sizes are very good and filing. We were very surprised by the prices as well for what we were receiving it is very well priced. Emma and Mark were very friendly and polite and we didn’t at all feel rushed.Will definitely return again.

Absolute gem of a find! What can I say other than wow!?The service was amazing, couldn’t fault Tim, Mark and the waiting staff at all as to how attentive they were. Superb selection of drinks and a lovely terrace for when it’s sunny. The music and atmosphere is lovely as well as the decor.Now on to the best part, the food. We had the hanging kebabs and the steak burger along with some sides and this is better than any restaurant I’ve eaten in within the Essex area. We’ll be travelling from Kent to eat here a lot more often. Thank you all for such a lovely day.

We visited for the first time as we are new to the area and couldn’t fault a single thing.We had 3 tables booked for the family and food, service and atmosphere were all amazing.We haven’t been out as a family due to covid restrictions and all felt very safe with the rules etc in place.My daughter is celiac and the staff and chef were brilliant even though I didn’t phone a head to let them know.I had best Sunday lunch I have ever had out and we will be back soon and regulars! Managed to get a lunch booking at Harry's. Must say, we were pleasantly surprised, having never been before. Sitting outside due to Covid restrictions did not stop us from enjoying our lunch, albeit a little chilly in the shade still!Tim is very personable, attentive and friendly. The music was ideal and suited all ages. Hubby enquired about Teddy Prendergast and next thing, Tim had found it and played it for him! Amazing. Food was absolutely delicious. One of the nicest lunches we have had for a while. Hubby had the chicken skewer, salad and skinny fires. Presented elegantly and generous portions. I had the chicken satay, which is a starter, but was ideal for lunch (borrowed a few of hubby's chips)! A great atmosphere for a lunch, so much so that we will be returning for a Sunday lunch and an evening visit in the next few weeks.You need to book guys, but make sure you do. This place is great!

We didn’t think we’d get in at first but after the owner had said they were full, he came after us to say we could come and eat. It didn’t disappoint! The food was divine, well cooked and lots of sauce (winner), lovely atmosphere and staff. We’d go again for sure!

I had the pork and chicken pate to start and the cod wrapped in parma ham with cream cheese for main and both were so good! Service was brilliant and a great atmosphere. Safe covid-19 procedures and overall an enjoyable evening sitting outside. Thank you for a lovely evening Harry's, I'll be back!

On spur of moment we stopped at Harry's for lunch as a treat prior lock down.Liked the decor comfortable,spacious and very clean.Liked the menu , I chose the firecracker chicken my wife chose the sea bass.We chose a chenin blanc wine very reasonably priced and very nice.Food arrived it was well presented and exceptionally good.Will definitely return can highly recommend.

Visited Harry’s this weekend. Food, wine, atmosphere & service were absolutely 5*! We had a table outside due to restrictions and were every bit as comfortable as we’d be inside.Despite the cold and drizzly weather we were toastie undercover and by the outdoor heaters. Every plate in the menu was appealing and could happily have chosen anything from it.The food from start to finish was beautifully presented and cooked.Thank you so much to Tim and Mark for looking after us so well. We visited the restaurant from a nearby hotel and were glad we came across it, from the fresh tasting food, delicious wine and friendly owner what’s not to like! We’d definitely come back here!

Was recommended Harry's by friends as was staying at the nearby Lifehouse Spa for the weekend. Staff were incredibly welcoming from start to finish and the food was gorgeous! They even kindly organised a taxi for us as we wasn't from the area. Really glad we made time to visit and will definitely recommend to others.

Had a lovely meal with my Husband, we were served by the owners Son who i believe was his first night serving, he was so lovely and had good banter and was very attentive. Really enjoyed our meal and the ambience was great, will definitely be back. First class service and food.

Went with a friend for food and had the chicken buttermilk burger and my friend had the chicken hanging kebab skewer both loved our meal and service was on point. Would definitely eat there again and recommend. Tims service was excellent too.

This is truly the best restaurant in the area, we went on the night they premiered their new menu which for us didn’t disappoint! The staff were polite and attentive, food was fresh and well cooked and the menu was extensive and small many options for vegetarians and meat eaters. Atmosphere was bustling and warm. We were staying in life house and couldn’t get a taxi so the Manager kindly dropped us back, really goes above and beyond for customer service! A fair price for a 3 course meal, cocktails and two bottles of wine! Thank for a lovely night, the team are a credit to you!

After having a great time on many occasions in Harry’s we went for a family meal on sat night , we wasn’t dissapointed, the service from the start was on point, the ribs and hanging skewers were delicious, then came the sticky toffee pudding, mouth watering!! Very easy to book online, my partner and I both had lovely meals which came out in good time. The staff were really friendly and followed Covid-19 regulations very well, we didn't feel unsafe at all and all the customers were following the guidelines.

The tables were far too close. No one to police the wearing of masks on entering. Waiter had mask over mouth and chin but not nose.People leaving tables without masks.

When I came into the restaurant the staff was very friendly and the service was great. Visited with some friends and enjoyed the selection of cocktails. The food was delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough

no social distancing between tables or between people. Service atrocious. Food took nearly an hour to arrive at the table and after giving the bill we waited atleast 15mins for the card machine, had to ask the waitress to bring it to us and she completely ignored us so had to get the waiters attention and even then he took his time. Do not recommend this place.

What a night! 23 people, we booked ahead and pre ordered. The food was so good. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive. I had the bruschetta, the vegan parcel and the lemon tarte. Each course was delicious. I didn’t even have room for my dessert but couldn’t stop eating it! The music was nice and fitted the atmosphere. Can it fault a single thing. Can’t wait to go back for my birthday

It's not often you visit a place and all the staff are on point. I always really enjoy Harry's it's one of my favourite local spots but this visit was made extra special by Luke. I visited the website to book my socially distanced table to find no space available. A call to the restaurant direct and Luke couldnt have been more accommodating. Both my partner and I wanted tapas and it's the only venue in the area that offers this style of eating - it was all beautiful and well presented. Thank you to all the staff who all went over and above to make it such a lovely evening. We will see you again soon.

Me and my husband stayed in a hotel near by and wanted to try something different as the hotel had limited options! We found Harry’s bar and restaurant on Tripadvisor and decided to try it out. It was very easy to book online and on arrival, we were welcomed by very friendly staff. The young lady who looked after us even made me a drink from scratch and it was lovely. We then ordered our meals and had the manager check on us and make sure we were happy! I had the sea base which hit the spot! Was our best couples night in a long time.. the music, the food, the service.. the owner, Harry! I hope he reads this, we will be back. Thank you ❤️

Really like Harry’s bar, the food is always great. Would definitely recommend. Only qualm is the service - once you’ve ordered your initial drinks and food we always find it hard to get waiters attention to order additional drinks. Even when management has changed hands it always seems to be an issue as the staff seem to congregate in the bar area....only reason I cannot rate it 5 stars.

We had a nice meal but service was so slow. Very disappointing as had been before and had a very different experience.

Our first visit back to Harry’s since the new ownership and we were thoroughly impressed. Food was fresh, delicious, cooked perfectly and well presented. The skate special was amazing, freshly caught and huge! Service was good, staff were readily available to reorder drinks and to make sure we had everything we needed. Harry’s keep doing what you’re doing, highly recommend!

We were staying at the lifehouse spa but wandered to Harry's Bar after seeing some great views. It didn't dissapount and infact exceeded expectations.. We had some great tapes food, a lovelly Pravha and was very well looked after.If we're ever in the area we would definitely go back....
