Coffee is very good but the place is filthy. Dirty tables, furniture should be in a skip, floor sticky. Don’t even mention the toilets.

We booked a table for 12, and it was disappointing from the start. Despite a sign saying “wait here to be seated,” no one came over. After standing around for five minutes, I had to go to the bar to ask which table was ours. That was the only real time we interacted with any staff member, other than when they brought the food out. Everything else was done through an app, which was slow and really not what you want to do when you’re ordering 12 meals. Honestly, I’d rather go to Wetherspoons—better food, friendlier staff, and way easier on the wallet.

Great place to grab a drink. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I've been here a few times and I always enjoy going here.

An exceptional roast in stunning surroundings at incredible value for money with spot on service. I think that’s all the elements covered. This was a faultless experience had by myself and my partner. The roast was absolutely gorgeous, we both had the celeriac wellington. Packed full of flavour and served pipping hot, 10/10 roast potatoes, then a huge selection of vegetables, extra gravy and stuffing. Complimentary sparkling water, linen napkins, sea salt and pepper grinders ( because they DO make the difference between good and great) in a buzzy atmosphere. Here’s the best bit…. £16. Yup, that’s no typo, This is without doubt, bang for buck the best value roast in or around Bury. I didn’t actually want to write this review as I wanted to keep this a hidden secret but the team have worked so hard to make this place work (it hasn’t for decades now) it would be rude not too. So enjoy….. I’d probably book

I was having a rubbish day, decided to stay in and order take away whilst watching a Christmas movie. When the food arrived not only was is still piping hot & delicious, they gave me a free dessert with a little note and honestly that’s the warm hug I needed today.

Beautiful historical building, which has kept many of the original features. Large tables and attentive staff. Sadly, the food is only average, although the coffee was very good and piping hot. The tuna melt was greasy, and the mozzarella on sourdough toast was cold by the time it was eaten. Cold serving plates doesn't help. Crisps with salad seems quirky, but maybe it's also a cheap filler. The service was ok, but nobody seemed to enjoy working there. The Norwich branch is slightly better. It's great for the cafetiere of coffee, but the food, for the price is nothing special. Typical cafe chain.
