The best restaurants in Abbeygate St Edmundsbury East of England

Very nice Turkish restaurant; excellent choice of hot and cold options with items for all diet and cuisine types: meat eaters, fish fanciers and vegetarians. Service was excellent, waiter was attentive, for came quickly and was piping hot, and tasted excellent - portion size was great and fresh accompaniments of salads, peppers, rice, bulgar and hot flatbread. A little expensive but for the whole experience it was worth it.

Lovely place to eat Greek food. We had a pork gyros and moussaka along with a couple of the cakes. There were no highchairs which might of been an issue for some young toddlers but our 2 year old sat on our laps. The area is quite small but cosy so it isn't a suprise. We enjoyed our food, friendly staff and nice view into bury town centre watching the people bustling around the shops. Would recommend!

We joined to celebrate special birthdays for afternoon tea. Felt 'special", food was fab (it would be nice if they offered sandwich top ups tho!), atmosphere lively but relaxed. Would totally recommend!

The music got louder and louder which made conversation harder which was shame. Friendly service. Lovely food. Will be coming back.

It was not our first visit and we were used to top quality food and service. We were disappointed tonight. Food was wonderful as always. But service was s bit slap dash. We asked for an espresso at the end of the meal and gave up after more than 10 minutes wait when all tables around us were being served. When we paid we were explained that there is not such a thing as a coffee, it only comes a dessert etc. We gave constructive feedback making it clear it was not a complaint and we were told that we were the one to blame for the poor service experience. So… food? Wonderful. Service? To be improved

Last Saturday I went to Voujon for a dinner with my family. It was really nice. Food was amazing, excellent service and lovely atmosphere. The waiter are very welcoming and attentive. They really look after us. We definitely going again.

Have eaten here a few times so my daughters chose here for a mothers day meal for me , i was disappointed in the mains mine and my daughters chicken was very rubbery and tough , very disappointed in the meal.

First time I’ve visited and very impressed. Great atmosphere and made to feel very welcome. Service was shockingly excellent which seems to be rare these days anywhere. Food tasted amazing. I don’t live local but will make a point of returning.

We arrived for a booked table for lunch on 11thDec and a lot of things were already off the menu ( specials board) . We had a light lunch and then when I went to restaurant. Side counter to pay and to order coffees I was directed to the counter on the other side . They then said my coffee would appear on the high shelf. I left my friend ( on her own) 3 times to retrieve the coffee and the last time I asked and was told someone else had taken it. By this time it was time for the start of the film and I had to take my coffee in with me. It’s appalling we weren’t served coffee at our table. I won’t be returning and I will be putting others off .

Had a quick bit to eat, food was good and the staff were very nice. Big back garden will be great when we get a bit of sun. Will be returning.

We had the special smoked salmon potatoe rosti avocado poached egg, absolutely delicious. Would recommend. Cosy warm and friendly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great place to go to for pre-performance dinner at the Abbeygate Cinema. Food was excellent and the service couldn't be faulted.

Amazing great beers on tap cooked breakfast was lovely the tour was outstanding Robin was sn Amazing guide fantastic day. Would love to see ipa reserve and strong Suffolk and London glory in a bottle but great to have london glory on tap

The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and plentiful and at a reasonable price. We will definitely be going there again when we visit Bury Saint Edmunds

Went to the cafe on a Friday prior to a meeting to grab a sandwich and read up on some stuff for the meeting and was served by a lovely young man that was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was able to sit in peace and do what I needed to do whilst enjoying lunch.
