Went to the cafe on a Friday prior to a meeting to grab a sandwich and read up on some stuff for the meeting and was served by a lovely young man that was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was able to sit in peace and do what I needed to do whilst enjoying lunch.

Returned here excitedly after 3 years and in disbelief at how far the standard has fallen. The service was cold and the food was at best as good as an average takeaway. Only ate half my plate and wasn't asked by staff if the food was OK. The service is discouraging and rude, not asking how the meal was and placing used cutlery back on the table for us to use again was a strange touch. Not sure what's changed since my last visit but I wont be going back unless there are some serious changes.

Overpriced. £15 for a toastie and coffee Coffee Cups handles far to small basically burnt my finger everytime I tried picking it up Poor gluten free range Really didn’t like the food had to make my mother who doesn’t eat gluten eat it so it didn’t go straight in the bin Coffee was good only good thing Wobbly chair uneven legs really bugged me but it was so condensed in there barely room to stand let alone swap a chair Overall would not come again to eat Took a while to be seated, had to stand the whole duration of waiting Toastie was burnt and hard Stick to your coffees

We had 2 coronation chicken jacket potatoes and 2 coffees we had to send them back as the potatoes were cold, even when they came back they were slightly better but still not particularly hot we couldn't be bothered to complain again so we ate and left if you can't get a potato hot there's really is no hope pleasant staff and lovely surroundings but the food was very poor

I've been in this restaurant for dinner during a business trip. We had our food pre ordered during the day so once we got there we didn't have to wait much. I had the whipped goats cheese, pickled beetroot, candied almonds as starter and the smoked haddock & pea risotto, bacon crumb, crispy poached egg as main, they were both very good. The interiors are very elegant, overall a really nice place.

The food was ok, nothing special and adding chips to a sandwich was £2.95 for about 8 chips! On first glance the pub looks lovely and perfect location in town but the toilets are quite bad and in desperate need of renovation and we’re not the cleanest. The soap dispenser broken so just a bottle in there to replace it which is ok except it was watered down! Overall wasn’t the nicest sorry to say. It could be made so much nicer.

We arrived around 1700, only a couple of tables had customers. We ordered our drinks first, then our adults and childrens food. The food came out a bit randomly, some of us had 2 dishes, it started to get a bit busy and I noticed that some people who came after us had their food before us. My 11 year old grandson had his food after I had finished my 2 dishes. His food did not look right and definitely didn't taste right, it was as if they had forgotten it then put it in the microwave. They did get us a new dish but then we all had to wait for him. The staff were very pleasant and helpful but the experience was overall very disappointing.

Went here with my girlfriend tonight. I ordered the “return of the mac” which was meant to be macaroni cheese. It turned up and it was quite literally boiled pasta with grated mozzarella on top with dry burnt bacon bits (this was £17!), my cheesy chips was melted burger cheese and stale fries. My girlfriend ordered Korean bbq tacos and said it was very sickly. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
