Our go to place for coffee. Good coffee and breakfasts but the cakes have always been disappointing. Dry red velvet cake and the cherry bakewll crust is too thick. Get the cake right and it would be a huge improvement.

We went with a group to friends to the Burns night event. As regulars we were excited to see what the team would be offering. There was a great vibe with bag pipes and potery readings. It was my first time eating haggis which was surprisingly good. I would definitely recommend a visit to the cafe if you are in bury

Went to a special Burns night dinner and paid £35 per person. The vegetarian option was actually appalling- a watery "soup" that tasted of nothing with a few barely-cooked carrot pieces and some barley floating in it. It was inedible. But the worst was yet to come. A vegetarian "haggis" substitute was basically a plate of (cold) Tesco mixed veg - you know, the kind that comes frozen in a plastic bag, with the peas, carrots, beans in little squares? The mixed veg was clearly microwaved inadequately with a "sauce" which tasted like canned tomato. No seasoning, no effort to turn the car crash on our plates to anything resembling what a chef would be proud to have leave their kitchen. I don't think anyone tasted the food- either while it was being prepared or when put together. Honestly, I have had better meals in primary school cafeterias. The service was a bunch of untrained amateurs who basically threw the food on the tables and never came back to see if the table wanted drinks or if the food was ok. I would have complained and asked for a refund if I could have located a single serving person, but they all seemed to be gossiping by the service hatch. Honestly the worst restaurant experience I have ever had

Really can't understand why this place is so popular. Have visited a few times now, wanting to give them another chance as I thought maybe I was missing some hidden charm. I have now decided I'm missing nothing. The service is very slow and unwelcoming. There is always some excuse as to why at least two menu items aren't available and the food has always been well below par. In fact, the last time I visited, I'd go as far as to say, the food was awful. My poached eggs avocado and salmon on toast tasted of nothing but vinegar and my wife's granola (which was actually muesli) had big grains of salt hidden through it. Needless to say, we won't be rushing back.

Wrights coffee van was at the Rougham pumpkin patch. I ordered a small hot chocolate, large hit chocolate, an Americano, two donuts and a brownie which came to £20.20. The quality of the donuts were not great, they tasted stale and they were tough. The brownie was alright, and a good texture. The hot chocolate were so weak to the point where they tasted like water. The coffee was awful, it was bitter but weak all at the same time. The staff however were lovely and the aesthetics of the van and set up was great, it is such a shame that everything else let it down.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 no questions. Saturday 11am busy busy busy but still managed to get a table. Quick service and everyone so happy. Big thank you to Alfie in the kitchen for the delicious plum, rocket and Brie toasties. And all the kitchen staff and FOH staff for working so hard in the hot weather. P.S I would like to find out the ingredients you add to the coleslaw that makes it so tasty. Definitely would recommend a salad box so many different flavours that all complement each other.

Wrights is a divine cafe and cocktail bar located in the heart of Bury. Their offering is simply fantastic with delicious toasties, an array of sides, a sublime cocktail menu and delicious coffees. The modern Art Deco interior compliments the offering perfectly. Highly recommend Wrights and the chef Alfie is one to look out for with his unique flare in the kitchen. I will be back 100%.

2nd visit after a similarly poor one about a year ago thought we’d give it another chance as everyone has bad days. Just after a coffee and bit of cake so pretty simple, walked in and waited at the sign to be seated and staff wondering around, two sat behind the counter talking to each other but no one came over so approached the counter to be told to go back and wait at the sign. They went back to talking and after a moment we left. We’ll not be back and go elsewhere as many better cafes a stones throw away. So avoid if you want decent customer service

We had been recommended this place by friends and were excited to treat ourselves to breakfast here. We tried a toastie a while back and did enjoy it (I’d recommend the Reuben). We had a salad then too, and honestly it was basically inedible. No dressing, not even olive oil or salt and pepper! It consisted of unseasoned noodles, mushy roast beetroot, fruit, and a weird garlicky coleslaw, whereas we expected a fairly simple side salad. But we thought we’d still give Wright’s another go last week for the full English. The coffee is fantastic and the staff are really lovely too. The food, unfortunately, really let the place down. It feels like it’s trying too hard, and that it’s just being different for the sake of it, rather than putting a twist on a classic to improve it. Nothing on the plate was seasoned, and we had to add a lot of salt. The beans were far too sweet and tasted like tinned tomatoes (would’ve preferred Heinz, tbh). Bacon was great, and I did like the sausage but prefer the original breakfast sausage over Wright’s. My fried egg came broken, which was disappointing. The mushroom was undercooked, but a nice idea and would’ve been great if executed properly. The bone marrow and the toast were really delicious, we just wished there had been more of it! We have also tried a cake here and not been very impressed with that either. But we’ll be back for the coffee and the lovely service!
