The gluten free option was really poor, supermarket bread which was barely toasted and had no colour on it at all. This was a shame as the normal option was quite nice, if a bit pricey

On the advice of my lovely neighbour, I ventured into Wright's for an early supper. I'd had a dialogue with them during the day because their web site is woefully out of date. I thought there was a quiz on, which turned out not to be the case. The young female server even rang me to make sure I knew. Paris, the young lady in question, is an absolute natural. She spots a new customer as soon as they come through the door; almost seems to have sixth sense about when a client is ready to order or needs another drink. She is studying business management, which I think is a shame, because hospitality management seems to me to be her calling. I hope Mr. Wright appreciates just how good she is. That's not to devalue Ben, another youngster who beavered away efficiently and without fuss. For a starter, I ordered Indonesian Rendang bites (£7), which were jolly tasty if a tad on the pricey side for four little balls. For main, I opted for the flatbread with North African steak (£17). The weak link for me was the flatbread, which was cold and rather dry. I think it would be much better warm and fresh. Flatbread takes moments. But the meat and the accompaniments went well together. Some of the decor is bonkers; especially in the loos which are designed to look temporary. Very odd. I liked Wright's a lot, especially the attentive and friendly young staff. On Friday and Saturday nights you can book tables via the Wright's Cafe app or online. During the day, you will likely have to wait in line! I don't do queues, but I do fancy brunch. Oh, and Mr Wright, in this day and age, you really should have WiFi.

We stopped by just to have a little appetizer before supper, and almost fall for fully eating there as the two sandwiches we ordered were so delicious, simple but so much flavour on’em. We had the Reuben’s and the Bloody Mary, and truffle fries with Parmesan cheese, would love to come back soon. Coffee was also good and we brought home the orange brownie which was also rich and delicious.

We were recommended this restaurant by a member of staff at a hotel we were staying at, and what great recommendation it was. It is a quirky cafe with professional staff, with the food being breakfast/brunch/toastie type food. I went for the beef brisket toastie, which was tasty and packed with filling. My wife went for smashed avocado, bacon and poached egg on sourdough, which again was a big portion size and very tasty. A great cafe with decent coffee too.

The breakfast was grim, the bacon was fatty and not crispy at all, the eggs were underdone, the beans were watery (they tasted like a cheap tin of tomatoes with too much cumin added to it), the hash browns were hard and greasy and tasted a few days old. The sourdough toast was a little too done for my taste, but the herb butter was great. Everything was well-seasoned and flavorful. There was nobody behind us… How can you expect someone to stand and wait for 10-20 minutes in the same spot, less than a meter from a bench? There are people with disabilities in this world. We booked into Wright’s for a work ‘team night out’ as we had heard some great things about them - and their ‘Burger & Beer’ sounded really good. We were not disappointed! We were greeted as soon as we arrived by a smiley young lady (who we found out later was called Indie). We were seated and were asked for our drink order within 5-10 minutes. Indie gave us some great advice about the cocktails and I ordered a mocha martini… it was absolute divine. My colleagues also ordered cocktails - all of which were equally as good. We all had the burgers for our mains. They came with very lovely chips, onion rings which were to die for and perfectly made slaw. The burgers were clearly handmade with great quality ingredients as we all agreed that they were absolutely delicious! (Compliments to the chef!) We stayed for another drink and had a lovely talk with Indie and Abbie who were serving. Both were lovely and their passion for the products they serve up was clear to see. But a great big thank to Indie for being so happy and bubbly and really helping to make our evening even more fun. We will return and I can’t recommend Wright’s enough! Thank you all.

One hell of a toastie! While the pastries and cakes in the window looked nice they didn't give away just how good the brunch is. The Bloody Mary Brisket with cheese toastie pushed all the right buttons - hot, crisp sourdough, melted fondanty cheese going brown and intensified at the edges, some meaty but welcome onions (and not too sweet - thankfully - because unexpected onions should never be too sweet or they are are a real turn off). The brisket was soft, rich and the ideal amount of spicy. Perfect, and I wolfed it down. It was big enough we could have shared and I couldn't finish it. My partner in gluttony had poached eggs on toast - on point- with smoked salmon and we split his avocado smash. Good tea, lovely cappuccino and GREAT value especially compared to our London experiences. I will not miss an opportunity to pop in here any time I'm back in the area.

Great attention to allergies, black pepper, and soya, with visits to chef and back to us to explain what was possible. We went for two French Onion and mozzarella toasties and poached eggs on toast. A salad, minus coleslaw (soya - something explained to us) and chips as sides. The salad arrived quickly with picked Red Cabbage to the fore, hidden was significant amounts of chilli 🌶 a bit too much. We were then left for a long time with no sign of the mains, which we had to chase after 30 or so minutes. Another short wait, and they arrived. The two toasties were really good. The poached eggs sitting atop mushrooms and heritage Tomatoes on toast was frankly disappointing over done and covered in heavy seasoning (eggs were hard boiled at best)

In a nutshell the food was pretty good but the service was terrible. We ordered 2 chai lattes, a piece of red velvet cake and a toasted pulled pork sandwich. The total was about £20 with a voluntary service charge. They delivered our cake first, then the drinks and then about 30 minutes later our sandwich came. No one asked us if we wanted anything else or if we were OK ( I was really thirsty and wanted water). We waited about 40 minutes for our toasted sandwich and the lady didn't apologise or say anything for that matter just chucked it on the table and left. All the waiting staff seemed to be running from one end of the cafe to the other but doing very little

This is the first time we have been to the Cafe, on a trip to Bury from Cambridge. We both had different toasties with a portion of chips. They were delicious and very filling Coffee was nice and hot for me and tea for my husband was good. Excellent service with a smile as well from the young waitresses. There was a queue at the door as we left, so whilst I see that some of the reviews on here are quite negative, there are obviously many others who must enjoy eating here, or why would they queue.....

I went here for dinner after the cinema on a Saturday night - I think they open for dinner on Fridays & Saturdays - just burgers, but the food was absolutely delicious!! £20 for a burger, fries, coleslaw, onions rings & a drink. I had a bun-less burger and was still defeated. Don’t overlook this lovely little cafe, it’s well worth a visit and is in general a bit quieter in the evenings than the day time so the service was well above standard :)

Review is purely on the English style breakfast. Coffee is good. The English style breakfast is a huge let down. Sausages aren't great on flavour and are tiny in size. Bacon was very undercooked and fatty. No choice for brown bread, only white sourdough, which isn't exactly the best type of bread. The beans are the ultimate let down. They appear to be homemade. However they simply taste like strait tomato puree. The potatoes, although numerous, are covered in a very sweet syrup which some may enjoy. Mushroom was good. Option for bone marrow also (I didn't try this). Food was slow to arrive (20 minute wait). For around £14 its poor value for money and I couldn't eat half of the meal due to poor overall flavour.

What a fab place, staff were super smiley and pleased to be there. Food was exquisite, and the coffee from Butterworths was amazing. Would definitely go there again.

Looks great from the outside. Inside is sadly filthy, from seats to glass and decoration right down to the cheese encrusted cutlery. The serving staff are polite but aloof about the quality of service they provide and most seem more interested in themselves than doing a good job. Almost no attention to detail to be seen whatsoever. The food is affordable but underwhelming. Not much to be said about the experience. And the loose leaf tea isn’t always loose leaf. Mine was certainly a teabag. A shame. I’m sure it has done better and could do better yet.

Our go to place for coffee. Good coffee and breakfasts but the cakes have always been disappointing. Dry red velvet cake and the cherry bakewll crust is too thick. Get the cake right and it would be a huge improvement.

We are regulars at the cafe/restaurant as we love the food and the staff are always lovely! For our wedding we had our reception at Wrights and it was such a great decision! The guests and ourselves thought Wrights blew it out the water with the incredible food, decor, organisation and how lovely the staff were. I had full trust in Maddie and the team and the evening was perfect. I would highly recommend Wrights as a cafe in the day, their evening meals and also for a wedding or other event! They can do it all :D

Shared a toasty and the full salad portion with a friend to try it all and still have room for more hot chocolate. Staff were friendly and welcoming as ever, explained any questions we had about the menu. Will always recommend and feels like a really treat.

Extremely disappointing lunch today. It was our anniversary and a real treat to eat outside. Very little choice for vegetarians - only one main course option which included asparagus and broad beans - both vegetables that I don’t like. I opted for the celeriac instead even though it was really a starter. When my husband went to order he was told that we had to have all three courses served at the same time because we were eating outside. We had our dog with us so indoors was not an option. When my husband pointed out that the ice cream on the pudding would melt before we could eat it, the server agreed to hold the Treacle Tart with ice cream until we’d finished our main courses. Foccacia with sundried tomato butter was dried out and tasteless. I didn’t eat it. The waiter didn’t ask if everything was OK, just “have you finished?” I told him about the bread. He just said “Oh, dry?” And walked away. When the small portion of treacle tart was served, it had been microwaved so that it was too hot to eat, burning my tongue, and the ice cream had half melted. Who wants hot treacle tart in 24 degrees. If it was treacle pudding fair enough. I’ve seen your response to the last negative review, so just to confirm that we paid when we ordered and we weren’t offered a refund on the focaccia. Although we’re local we won’t be returning, which is a shame because it’s so close and a beautiful setting.

Staff are nice. I would say the room hadn’t been hoovered. Laying in bed on the Friday we could hear the bass from the speakers downstairs which was annoying and disappointing.
