We popped in for breakfast today which turned out to be a massive waste of time and money. The breakfast was grim, the bacon was fatty and not crispy at all, the eggs were underdone, the beans were watery (they tasted like a cheap tin of tomatoes with too much cumin added to it), the hash browns were hard and greasy and tasted a few days old. The waitress apologised, but we left hungry and £35 out of pocket.

Went for brunch and took 30 minutes for food to come out. It was sat on the side for 5 minutes before we asked where our food was and still took 5 minutes before they brought it out. Once it came out was not hot and most of it wasn't edible. When questioned they came up with excuses and at no point were they apologetic. Would not go here again.

It was quite busy when we arrived but we were sat down in about 10 minutes, the veggie breakfast was really nice I had an addition of salmon instead of the potatoes and holloumi because of dairy allergy. This was the best breakfast I've ever had at a cafe, very rich and nice. The vegan bacon was top notch!!

Maybe the childs menu could be a little more bland, ie keep the beans separate from the toast in a ramekin, and maybe cook scrambled eggs as a choice for little ones, otherwise the food is delicious 😋

Very much enjoyed the Wright’s Brekkie for a Sunday breakfast. Great presentation and mostly delicious. Loved the Merguez sausages, the bacon, egg, and maple-glazed potatoes. Especially loved the garlic mushrooms. The beans were more of a tomato stew with a sprinkle of beans. Good, just not what I expected. The sourdough toast was a little too done for my taste, but the herb butter was great. Everything was well-seasoned and flavorful. I would absolutely order this again but ask for light toast and maybe ask to sub something for the beans.

Visited today for brunch. We waited at the sign and met by someone who told us the wait would be 10-20 minutes. I asked if we could sit on the bench while we waited and she said no, we have to stand by the sign for while we waited. There was nobody behind us… How can you expect someone to stand and wait for 10-20 minutes in the same spot, less than a meter from a bench? There are people with disabilities in this world. How hard is it to just take a name? Less attitude would also be appreciated.

Popped in as this cafe looked so lovely, brilliant location, lovely set up. We sat down and were left for what I considered too long for our order to be taken. We did think about getting up and leaving. Whilst we were deciding whether to leave and find somewhere else, we observed other people getting up and leaving their tables without ordering. We booked into Wright’s for a work ‘team night out’ as we had heard some great things about them - and their ‘Burger & Beer’ sounded really good. We were not disappointed! We were greeted as soon as we arrived by a smiley young lady (who we found out later was called Indie). We were seated and were asked for our drink order within 5-10 minutes. Indie gave us some great advice about the cocktails and I ordered a mocha martini… it was absolute divine. My colleagues also ordered cocktails - all of which were equally as good. We all had the burgers for our mains. They came with very lovely chips, onion rings which were to die for and perfectly made slaw. The burgers were clearly handmade with great quality ingredients as we all agreed that they were absolutely delicious! (Compliments to the chef!) We stayed for another drink and had a lovely talk with Indie and Abbie who were serving. Both were lovely and their passion for the products they serve up was clear to see. But a great big thank to Indie for being so happy and bubbly and really helping to make our evening even more fun. We will return and I can’t recommend Wright’s enough! Thank you all.

Rude and unwelcoming - I won’t be going back. I attempted to visit Wrights with my 6 week old in a (very compact) buggy. Despite there being plenty of tables and floor space free I was offered the scrappy table by the entrance and told they “couldn’t have the buggy blocking the way”. One hell of a toastie! While the pastries and cakes in the window looked nice they didn't give away just how good the brunch is. The Bloody Mary Brisket with cheese toastie pushed all the right buttons - hot, crisp sourdough, melted fondanty cheese going brown and intensified at the edges, some meaty but welcome onions (and not too sweet - thankfully - because unexpected onions should never be too sweet or they are are a real turn off). The brisket was soft, rich and the ideal amount of spicy. Perfect, and I wolfed it down. It was big enough we could have shared and I couldn't finish it. My partner in gluttony had poached eggs on toast - on point- with smoked salmon and we split his avocado smash. Good tea, lovely cappuccino and GREAT value especially compared to our London experiences. I will not miss an opportunity to pop in here any time I'm back in the area.

Poped in for a take out cappuccino, extortionate price, £3.70 the experience! Mediocre taste, nothing to rave about, expecting more for the price. Have visited a few occasions before & sat in for coffee + cake- again very expensive. Just because they have a prime location doesn't mean you put your prices up & let standard's slip. Cakes all exposed to the elements/germs/flies, need covering & away from the open door.

On a whim, we tried here for lunch following a visit to the monthly makers market. Nice welcome and show straight to a table. Both lunch and breakfast were being served. Great attention to allergies, black pepper, and soya, with visits to chef and back to us to explain what was possible. We went for two French Onion and mozzarella toasties and poached eggs on toast. A salad, minus coleslaw (soya - something explained to us) and chips as sides. The salad arrived quickly with picked Red Cabbage to the fore, hidden was significant amounts of chilli 🌶 a bit too much. We were then left for a long time with no sign of the mains, which we had to chase after 30 or so minutes. Another short wait, and they arrived. The two toasties were really good. The poached eggs sitting atop mushrooms and heritage Tomatoes on toast was frankly disappointing over done and covered in heavy seasoning (eggs were hard boiled at best)

Went back to Wrights for Sunday breakfast which wasn’t as good as before. The sourdough toast is really tough to cut as it often is which means half my toast was left as the crusts were on the darker brown crispy side. Both my poached egg and my husbands was over cooked but as it had taken a long time to get our food we decided not to ask them to replace it. However, the coffee is good, the tea choice is good and the staff are helpful and friendly. Just do something about the sourdough.

In a nutshell the food was pretty good but the service was terrible. We ordered 2 chai lattes, a piece of red velvet cake and a toasted pulled pork sandwich. The total was about £20 with a voluntary service charge. They delivered our cake first, then the drinks and then about 30 minutes later our sandwich came. No one asked us if we wanted anything else or if we were OK ( I was really thirsty and wanted water). We waited about 40 minutes for our toasted sandwich and the lady didn't apologise or say anything for that matter just chucked it on the table and left. Review is purely on the English style breakfast. Coffee is good. The English style breakfast is a huge let down. Sausages aren't great on flavour and are tiny in size. Bacon was very undercooked and fatty. No choice for brown bread, only white sourdough, which isn't exactly the best type of bread. The beans are the ultimate let down. They appear to be homemade. However they simply taste like strait tomato puree. The potatoes, although numerous, are covered in a very sweet syrup which some may enjoy. Mushroom was good. Option for bone marrow also (I didn't try this). Food was slow to arrive (20 minute wait). For around £14 its poor value for money and I couldn't eat half of the meal due to poor overall flavour.

Went to a special Burns night dinner and paid £35 per person. The vegetarian option was actually appalling- a watery "soup" that tasted of nothing with a few barely-cooked carrot pieces and some barley floating in it. It was inedible. But the worst was yet to come. A vegetarian "haggis" substitute was basically a plate of (cold) Tesco mixed veg - you know, the kind that comes frozen in a plastic bag, with the peas, carrots, beans in little squares? The mixed veg was clearly microwaved inadequately with a "sauce" which tasted like canned tomato. No seasoning, no effort to turn the car crash on our plates to anything resembling what a chef would be proud to have leave their kitchen. I don't think anyone tasted the food- either while it was being prepared or when put together. Honestly, I have had better meals in primary school cafeterias. The service was a bunch of untrained amateurs who basically threw the food on the tables and never came back to see if the table wanted drinks or if the food was ok. I would have complained and asked for a refund if I could have located a single serving person, but they all seemed to be gossiping by the service hatch. Honestly the worst restaurant experience I have ever had

Had lunch with friends. I was optimistic as there was a queue (about a 20 min wait) so it seemed very popular. After being seated it was a long time (too long actually) before our order was taken. I can only comment on the food I had, which was the cheese and french onion toastie, a cappuccino and to finish lemon drizzle cake. Once again the food took a long time to arrive and we had to chase up the drinks. The toastie was drowning in french onion which to some may be fantastic, but it was overwhelming and rather than compliment the cheese i ended up removing at least half of it to be able to enjoy it properly. The cappuccino was average at best and not overly hot when it arrived. Finally the cake, sadly it had no flavour in the actual cake, and relied on a drizzle to give it flavour. So over my experience was such that I will not return (the only action that you can take when dissatisfied) It may have been a one off problem, and I dont usually like to post negative reviews, however the actual cost of the meal was high and did not live up to the price charged so unfortunately I have to give a thumbs down on this occasion.

Update: As you can see below I used to love this place, however last couple of times having received not a great service- I sadly won't be coming back, purely because of one of members of staff that did not make me (and my friend) feel welcome. Her passive aggressive short responses, extremely cold attitude or ignoring when you try to grab her attention, altogether with looks like she was someone better than you is not really something a customer should deal with. I was nothing but polite and felt like she really didn't want me or my friend there. This has happened couple of times now and even though rest of staff are lovely and food is great - I do not wish to feel like an intruder in place that is supposed be a treat. I'm not sure what her name is but she was in early morning 2nd January. We're regulars at Wright's and go there everytime we're in Bury. Their salad selections are always amazing, so are the toasties and pretty much everything off the main menu. Would highly recommend for breakfast/lunch/brunch. Staff are always smiling and being really nice. Overall great food, great service, reasonably priced!

Food - okay for the price, slightly on the small side, ( as you can see from photo, only a few potato cubes with the breakfast) but overall everything was a little over cooked, maybe they were busy and quality slipped.. especially the sausages, texture were like chorizo (not sure if they are suppose like that) The beans taste like tinned tomato straight out the tin with mixed beans in it. The chicken waffle - chicken was burnt ( see second photo) batter turned dark brown and the waffle was over cooked (rock solid) Service - acceptable, but we asked for tap water at the beginning, the server forgot(too busy of course) and we had to ask again after 30 mins of food served.

I wanted to have breakfast treat with a friend. Although very busy we were lucky to get a seat fairly quickly. We were taken to our table and given the brunch menu and cakes, could not see drink or breakfast menu. We just ordered 2 black Americano coffees and 2 peach danish pastry as well as water. The pastries and water arrived in good time. Coffee however took a long time and when it finally arrived my friend got a full cup and myself a ¾ cup as the assumption was I will have milk! I refused the milk and ended up with little less coffee. Now I must say we both really enjoy a good cup of strong coffee with flavour, a crema layer and smelling delicious. We doubted what we received was actually an Americano. No crema layer, it looked watery and I first thought it was from granulated coffee. I assumed it might have been filter coffee. My friend did not drink much of hers and I only desperately drank mine. We also had to ask for napkins and cutlery. I will not go back. However I would like to add the pastry was delicious.

I love Wright's, lovely food, cosy atmosphere and mostly hard working staff! Owners, what are you doing? You have hard working staff that put in the effort to keep your place full and ppl coming back and then you have some lazy balast that are mostly on their phone or loiter around doing eff all.

Lovely food, very tasty, sadly the beef toastie I'd wanted to try had already run out at midday but the duck toastie I had instead was lovely. Service could have been better and quicker. My friends drink was forgotten and later, I couldn't get anyone's attention to order another. Despite this, I would give it another go.

We are regular visitors to Wright's. Great choice of meals & snacks. A vibrant place & friendly staff make for a great experience 👍. I do question, however, that a 'homemade' fruit juice of melon, pineapple, ginger, in a small glass with lots of ice cost £4.00. Recommended to visit.

Really can't understand why this place is so popular. Have visited a few times now, wanting to give them another chance as I thought maybe I was missing some hidden charm. I have now decided I'm missing nothing. The service is very slow and unwelcoming. There is always some excuse as to why at least two menu items aren't available and the food has always been well below par. In fact, the last time I visited, I'd go as far as to say, the food was awful. My poached eggs avocado and salmon on toast tasted of nothing but vinegar and my wife's granola (which was actually muesli) had big grains of salt hidden through it. Needless to say, we won't be rushing back.

I'm sad to say my experience has changed after my first experience I had visited here. I came for a cake and coffee, we waited to be seated, however, a member of staff stated there a seat over there..... We didn't want a sponge cake that was on show, however there were cakes below in clear boxes like millionaires short cake, I had ask what type they were in the box, and was briefly told these were only for the weekend and not for sale....what a way to make money by turning the public from buying there products. I would be reluctant to return from the attitude and experience. Looking at the new cake shops in the town, I will be trying these in the future.

Not the birthday dinner we expected, not a great start to the evening, turned up and the initial greeting just felt awkward, stood at the bar whilst about 5 members of staff walked by but not doing anything, eventually asked about our booking, sent to our table with no menus as they had run out, then had one menu given to us to share. We then had a long wait before anyone came along again, only to find out that they had given us an out of date menu. Starters turned up and one dish was completely wrong, back again with correct dishes but the onion bhaji was over cooked and burnt. The whole service just seemed lacking enthusiasm, to the point where it felt uncomfortable. Main dishes arrived, the ox cheek order did not come with the crispy onions like I saw on the menu and everyone else's plate. My wife's venison was very fatty and not a good cut at all, yes the food had flavour but was let down by the small details. We ordered dessert, normally my favourite part of the meal but not this time, the trio of desserts was a let down, a very untidy looking creme brulee and the blandest of chocolate torte I've ever tasted. Overall we were both very disappointed, decided not to complain on the evening as I didn't want to make a scene in front of my wife, paid the extortionate bill for a very poor dinner and left unimpressed.

In the centre of Haverhill, fantastic service and friendly staff members. The HIVE cafe, they have open in the morning must be the best place in Haverhill to grab a coffee 😊. Wonderful atmosphere, and also great place to eat out or enjoy a cocktail or a few in the evenings.

Coffee is very good but the place is filthy. Dirty tables, furniture should be in a skip, floor sticky. Don’t even mention the toilets.

This Pub is known for it's pies, and for just under £16.00 the beef pie was well worth it! So much delicious, melt on the fork beef, in a rich gravy, with my choice mash and vegetables. Some people do not like the puff pastry top and the pie comes in a dish, but I can recommend it! All freshly cooked. I am lucky I live next door so i was able to roll home after such a large meal.
