Super friendly and welcoming service from a very accommodating landlady. Great place for all the family with good choice of food for adults and children. Reasonably priced, efficient and comfortable setting. Garden for kids and games inside. A very refreshing change to made to feel so welcome as a customer. Looked like it was alive within the community as well, with adverts for local events and open for coffee / cake in the mornings on a Friday. Keep up the good work…if only there were more like this.

Honest pub food to a good standard, many items home made. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The atmosphere and decoration are very pleasant although some minor items need a refurb. The toilets were in good condition and very clean. In summary a very pleasant place to have lunch. They are only open at the moment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and they seem very popular so you need to book.

The Six Bells proved the perfect spot for meeting up with friends living being midway between Sudbury and Huntingdon. One friend is hard of hearing and we were given a table away from others and the staff turned down the music without being asked. The food was as fabulous as the last time we visited but the staff are exceptional in their consideration, friendliness and approachability. It is now a fixed venue for us to meet up regularly.

We had Saturday lunch at The 6 Bells and chose the mushroom and lentil pies as we are both veggie/ vegan. Our hostess suggested we order a starter as the pies were made freshly from scratch. We shared some delicious home made hummus and toast and within half an hour our mains were with us. It was so worth the wait! The most delicious pies filled with chunky oyster mushrooms and served with creamy mashed potato and tender spring cabbage. It's not often we get such a delicious and imaginitive vegan/veggie meal but The 6 Bells deliver time and time again . Helpful tip - always book a table on Saturday as unsurprisingly they get very busy!

The location is really good just 10 minutes from the Crematorium which was ideal because it meant nobody had to drive any further than necessary. The feedback I had about the food from family was really good and there was plenty of it. Nicola and the staff did a Brilliant job and catered for Vegans and Gluten free as well. What is wrong with the residents of Horringer? I don't know how the Beehive is fareing but the Six Bells should have been heaving on a Friday night! We live in Bury which is very well served with pubs but met tonight with friends for a drink at the Bells and were really warmly welcomed. We lived in Horringer over 20 years ago and loved the old Bells. It's gone through some unimpressive incarnations but the current people are lovely and deserve village support.

A fabulous Sunday lunch with friends. Not easy to cater for us lot as out of the four of us are two vegans and one vegetarian. For a start there were TWO mains suitable for us vegans. Unheard of in most pubs! Our waitress could not have been more helpful, friendly and understanding. She took note of all our preferences and came back and double checked a couple of times to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The meals were imaginative, tasty, freshly cooked and plenty of it without being too much. Plentiful bowls of vegetsbles on our table for us to help ourselves and vegetarian gravy too. I had the celeriac steak with all the roast dinner trimmings. Different and delicious. The dining room itself is beautifully decorated and we walked in on a cold March day to a roaring log burner. The four of us could not have been happier and we plan to visit regularly in the future.

It’s quite rare to find a restaurant with such attention to detail to all the food, very good preparation and cooking of the dishes we had. The beef was superbly cooked, very soft and moist, lovely and pink, well prepared vegetarian dishes and the accompanying sides were brilliant. Given the price it was spot on value for money, if not slightly better than expected - fantastic! There are o my two issues, we didn’t get the chocolate mousse recipe, so we’ll have to come back! 😉 The other issue is we live near Cambridge so it’s a trek, but we’re already talking about coming back. Staff were attentive and well trained, and the decor and upkeep were immaculate, thank you to Ricky and the team. Keep it up!

I visited on 9th Oct 21 and had the fish and chips but the batter was so thick and heavily fried I had to smash it rather than cut into it which left the fish crumbled and covered in the inedible batter and the chips were unfortunately equally dreadful. I think we must have caught them as the kitchen was closing. The staff didn't seem to notice that we hadn't eaten anything or are used to meals being returned uneaten. When I went to pay, I was asked if I'd enjoyed my meal and said that I hadn't and was cut off by the bar staff while explaining why and told "I'll pass it on" in an extremely curt manner. I have given 2 stars because the village location its self is quite pleasant and drinks were OK, we sat outside so can't comment on the inside other than there appeared to be something missing which is why we sat outside. I only comment now because it has come up on Google today that I have visited and asked for a review. I don't leave reviews as a rule but it worked out expensive to send this meal to the bin and drive back down into Bury for something to eat before going home.

I was slightly underwhelmed by my experience of the Six Bells. We visited on the strength of the great reviews, but while there was nothing wrong with what we experienced, this was a long way from excellent. The food itself was pretty good, and would have been worth 4 stars on its own. My Suffolk pork was pretty tasty with some super crackling although the sauce around the place was a bit indistinguishable. And my potted duck starter was ok. It had some fig chutney to contrast the taste, but it needed much more. But the downside was that this pub just felt sterile. Most of the walls are painted grey and in the end, it just made it feel a bit too beige. The toilets were impressive, complete with individual hand towels. But if the effort for them had gone into the look and feel of the main pub, it might have given this place a bit more zing.Six (bells) out of ten for the Six Bells I'm afraid.
