Gastrono-me in St Edmundsbury

Went here with my girlfriend tonight. I ordered the “return of the mac” which was meant to be macaroni cheese. It turned up and it was quite literally boiled pasta with grated mozzarella on top with dry burnt bacon bits (this was £17!), my cheesy chips was melted burger cheese and stale fries. My girlfriend ordered Korean bbq tacos and said it was very sickly. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Went today. Food was nice but service was appalling. It was quiet, yet took ages to even take my order. Then far too long to wait for drinks to come. A couple in the restaurant actually got up and walked out as they took far too long to come over to even take an order. Really quite so no excuse. A lady also just ordered a coffee then had to chase this up and asked to cancel as taking ridiculous amount of time. Management need a serious look at the service staff and perhaps a morale boosting shake up as staff had no rush or care in the world. Food when eventually ate was nice. Perhaps not worth the wait though. Won’t go again.

Food good, a little on the pricey side for what it was, but plenty of choice for all. Had to ask 3 times for water. Dog friendly, and plenty of space.

Service was very slow. Drinks weren’t delivered correctly and then the measure of wine was short. The food order was wrong and not hot. The waiting staff delivered it as it was ready so concerning that it wasn’t hot. Staff were friendly Don’t appreciate having 12.5% tip added to the bill. Like to tip what I think appropriate. Paid it but won’t be back sadly.

Sloppy food and tiny portions served by children. Went to with friends when visiting Bury St Edmunds. We got there at 11:50 and asked if we could still get breakfast they said ‘no we’re too busy’ We were then given the lunch menu and I ordered the Korean brisket sandwich. The food took ages to arrive and the place seem to be staffed entirely by teenagers - there seemed to be no visible manager When the food finally came out I was served half a sandwich - a tiny portion (pictured) The sandwich was really sloppily prepared -just a few bits of shredded beef in BBQ sauce served on cheap supermarket bread (bear in mind this costs £14!!!) When I asked where the other half was the child serving us just turned red and said ‘enjoy your meal’ then turned around and walked away! I have absolutely no idea why this place is so popular but maybe there’s less competition in Bury? there are surely lots of better options in the area. This place is not recommended and honestly would never survive in London. Bury you deserve better than this place!

Came here a month ago and still have flashbacks to what was the WORST service I’ve ever had in my life. Food took an hour and a half and drinks took half an hour just for them to make ONE mimosa

Food was good but service was lacking big time. We waited so long for everything. They served our drinks first and forgot to give a straw for our milkshakes. Asked one server, then another, until we finally stood up and went to the bar to get a straw. Food came. No utensils. Same thing. We waited for the utensils. Then it was time for the kids’ ice cream. We told one server, then two more servers. Paid our bill already, still no ice cream. We asked for to go boxes for our left overs - same thing. We asked so many stuff and nobody helped us until one lady helped us with both ice creams and to go boxes.

Quickly served, freshly prepared food and tasty. A little pricey maybe, but good all the same.

Has lost the friendly atmosphere of the previous premises where we were happy to queue or wait for a phone call to tell us a table was free however the food is as good as it ever was and the staff are professional

Sadly I won't be returning to Gastrono-me. Previously I've enjoyed good service and good food. On my recent visit I didn't receive either. Food quite greasy and expensive for what it was. Service slow and inattentive, despite not being very busy. Like other reviewers I don't like the service charge being added automatically. Decor and environment are really nice, but what's happened to what used to be one of my favourite places to eat and recommend to friends and family.

Very delicious breakfast, the best we have ever had! I had the gastronome-hash, amazing ! Great size portions, attentive and friendly staff. Good all round, thank you!

Really enjoyed our brunch mushrooms, spinach and cheese on toast. Really lovely staff. The food very filling I would suggest food needs to be a bit smaller what we got was very large just right for two people sharing. If customer left some it would be very wasteful. Otherwise all very good.

We visited today and had a pleasant time, sitting outside and enjoying the sun. Our waitress was lovely and very friendly. It was extremely busy, and they certainly could have done with more staff. The menu here is quite extensive and has some good options. I would go back again at a quieter time, as I would have liked a sweet and coffee. Just as a suggestion It would qbe nice if the owners could provide some wedges for the wonky tables. The people next to us had put a fork under theirs. !!!

Food was nice, slightly smaller portions than expected but arrived quickly and was good. It was difficult to get server’s attention when needed but they were friendly and efficient. Restaurant adds a ‘discretionary’ 12.5% service charge to the bill which isn’t mentioned on the menu. We pretty much always tip (unless service has been really poor), but like to be able to make the choice and actively avoid restaurants with an automatic charge. Unfortunately, there was no mention of this beforehand and we were not left to check the bill before payment. As such, it felt like really sharp practise. Please stop doing this!

Great food, very reasonable, fab service

“Return of the Mac” absolutely awful , after a long wait where others in our party of 6 had almost finished their first course after commenting on cold fries and tiny portions this abomination arrived . Was more like a noodle soup than a macaroni cheese dish , globules of cheese with macaroni on a bed of some kind of liquid! Apologies offered and bill reduced but an awful advert for Bury St Edmunds

All looked so promising but what a fail! We both ordered the Rock Star veggie breakfasts and had high hopes. The meals were very very slow to come out, and when they finally did we were immediately disappointed. The menu is super misleading, listing ‘eggS’ when you only get a single egg and ‘tomatoeS’ when you get one half a tomato. The hash browns are not the regular triangular ones but the small round ones, and the halloumi was 2 very small thin pieces. Really not good enough for a £16 breakfast!! To add insult to injury, the food itself just tasted very meh and the mushrooms were cold. I don’t mean they had gone cold - I mean they were literally stone cold as if taken straight from the fridge! When we raised this with the waitress, she wanted to take our entire plate away just so they could change the mushrooms. Given we had waited so long for the food in the first place we declined and asked for the replacement mushrooms to be brought to us. They then still added a 12.5% discretionary service charge to the bill which, aside from being a pathetic Americanism which has no place in the UK, isn’t remotely justified considering the poor experience. To note the toilets are downstairs, mixed gender and very dark. All in all a shocking experience. £40 for a small, mediocre breakfast with cold mushrooms. Do not recommend.

Seated really quickly, ordered and served our drinks super fast. We ordered three starters; halloumi fries, chips and dip and the prawns and they were delicious. Our main meals were also lovely and the portion sizes are really generous. We were stuffed but still had space for the biscoff milkshakes and some sorbet. Genuinely lovely atmosphere and nice decor. Would deffo eat here again. 😋

Lovely restaurant lovely food we went for bottomless brunch my only criticism is the bottomless brunch didn't seem so bottomless There's quite a wait before they bring you you're first bottle and once we had finished I asked 2 members of staff for a top up and they took so long we gave up after that bottle They weren't very busy and not saying the staff were rude or anything they were lovely but they do delay so I don't feel you get you're money's worth other than that really nice place

First time here. Food was absolutely amazing, best breakfast we have had. Can't wait to try different dishes on the menu.

Came to lunch at BSE branch last week. 3 in party. Waitress asked me, have l any allergies ! Yes l replied, l have an egg intolerance, l was thinking this is a good start. Ordered Gastrono-me's Burger and fries, specifically saying no egg either in on or the bun. Arriving 15 minutes later with egg in the burger ! Sorry, unable to eat as has egg in the bun. Taken away but fries remained. 15 minutes later burger returned with no egg ! Fries were cold. They took the fries away to be heated up! Never to be seen again, no one was chasing or concerned ! I did get offered a free drink as one particularly member of staff. Could see what was happening. Declined as already had a drink. Had the fries taken off the bill ! Wow. Poor service really.

The dinner was amazing, our waiter Leo was so kind and patient, absolutely made our evening. I would definitely recommend to anyone, we will coming back soon.

Lovely place to eat; good service but the dish that we both ordered was basically lots of potatoes on bread with peppers and a mildly spicy sauce. (Gastrono-Me-Hash) Very difficult to spot the chorizo. Judging by the dishes being served on other tables we clearly ordered the wrong thing. Don’t be put off as the restaurant is clearly popular judging by how busy it was.

Seems to have gone really downhill unfortunately. Food took a while, even though place was empty. Cold, fairly tasteless when it did arrive and also small portions (no fries with the burgers for instance) for a high cost. You wouldnt mind the price if the food was up to par or the portions were decent sized. Also a bit annoying that it lumps two service charges on the bill when you try and pay by the QR code. Ended up paying £30 for a halloumi wrap and a drink. Unfortunate as this place used to be great, but wish we’d have read the recent reviews and we wouldn’t have bothered as they all say the same thing. Gone downhill completely.

Average experience, I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo which was a good size, however there was no sauce or seasoning which made it almost a chore to eat and the chorizo was great. Also could have been hotter. And the food was a little slow considering there was only 2 other tables. It was also quite expensive for what it was.

Came for brunch and thought we'd try the breakfast burrito, but was a bit bland & found the combination kind of odd, might be more of a personal preference, but it certainly didn't live up to expectations. Might benefit from more seasoning because Mexican food is renowned for it's distinct flavour but this unfortunately was lacking. An oddly long waiting time too, considering that the restaurant was almost empty. Service could have been a bit better, as we felt a bit like the waiter wanted to rush away despite the fact the restaurant was not busy at all. I would like to give other menu options a try, because the bagel selection sounds nice, but in terms of the burrito I personally wouldn't recommend.

Always been recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Catered well for kids and delivered amazing food throughout. We skipped to mains and sides which were very generous portions. Desserts were nice too. Massive piece of sticky toffee pudding and Sundaes delivering smiles and full stomachs

Really, really disappointing. We ordered what are their 'Signature' brunch dishes the DELUXE Ultimate Breakfast and Salmon Bagels at £15.95 each. After 35 minutes wait (and the place was only 25% full) the bagels turned up absolutely stone cold. The bagels themselves were stale. The ingredients within absolutely inedible. We had to leave the food. I still paid the bill which included 12.5% service charge which I did not have removed as the serving staff at the front end were very nice so no complaints there but the food was truly unacceptably AWFUL.

The food here is top it's great tasting the price is OK, the worst part is that you have to pay for your main in to parts the item and then the fries they should in the main cost .... Service when the girls are there it's great, but the male there I think a manager, we asked him for stuff and he went out for a smoke and we had to ask one of the other girls for the items ... Other then that great place

Went for breakfast. Despite there only being two other tables in the whole restaurant it took 50 minutes to get served a breakfast. No apologies, plate just shoved in my face and the food was stone cold! How could it be cold when it took so long to come out! Definitely do not recommend and will not be going back.

Visited here on Sunday with my two friends. We had a dreadful experience, the restaurant wasn’t very busy (our table was booked at 2.15pm), and our food took 55 minutes to arrive! When our food did eventually arrive, the waitress just dumped the plates down and walked away without even apologising for the wait. Unfortunately, my friend’s meal (which she has had several times there previously) was unsatisfactory, the lettuce was brown and wilted and the potatoes were cold and hard. As you can imagine we were all extremely disappointed. When the waitress asked how our meal was, we explained the above. She didn’t really say much so we asked to speak with the manager, to begin with she said there wasn’t anyone available, then changed her mind when we insisted on it. The manageress came out and I have to say her attitude was appalling. She disputed our wait time and had to go and check what time the food ticket was given to the chef, turns out the original person who took our order forgot to pass it onto the chef, hence why our food took so long. I found the manageress to be argumentative and rude, it was obvious the restaurant was at fault, and she just wouldn’t accept it. The manageress spoke to all three of my friends in an unacceptable manner. Eventually and reluctantly, she confirmed that she would take my friends meal off the bill and drinks. There were lots of staff floating about doing nothing in the restaurant although she did mention that the kitchen staff were short due to staff people sick. If you are unable to provide a good service and good food, then don’t open the restaurant and disappoint paying customers! A rare meal with two of my friends turned out to be a huge disappointment. Won’t be returning.

Good burgers and drinks. Vietnamese fries sound like they shouldn't work but are so addictive and would get 11/10 !!

Nice atmosphere and amazing food. Down side is it took 5 minutes to seat us (with a reservation), 20 minutes before taking our order and 40 minutes before it arrived. The servers were polite and they seemed to be well-staff, but they automatically add a 12.5% service charge/ Tip to you bill, which we didn't want to pay given it took so long for food.

Spacious area for prams/wheelchairs once you have negotiated the 5 steps up to the restaurant area immediately upon entry. Easy access toilet available. Service was helpful but Buddah bowl was mediocre. Breakfasts, brunch and lunch menu served during certain times. Children’s menu available.

The atmosphere at this restaurant was brilliant, and the service is very good and the food was absolutely spot on and would definitely recommend this place.

We were the only people on there. If you don’t like egg do not go for breakfast. They refused to ask the kitchen to not put an egg in my bagel. Pancakes were hard and stale. Waitress didn’t ask once his the food was even seeing we hadn’t eaten 80% of the food

We went for a salmon and kebab brunch, but we were a bit surprised by the dishes. I don't eat rolls, I don't eat thick egg omelettes, but yes, I found something like this. I thought I'd get fish with salad because I don't like fries. And here there was an omelette. I absolutely did not like my dish. The waiting time after ordering was quite long, and there were maybe 2-3 customers in the entire large room. This amazes me - how long do you have to wait for a meal when the room is full? next time I probably won't risk a meal in this restaurant, because in my opinion it was not described precisely enough in the menu.

We booked for brunch and out of 5 meals 2 were very poor. The bagels weren’t toasted and the huge slab of cream cheese was tasteless. Not recommended.

Wow. Friendly and lovely staff, welcomed in. The place has a lovely atmosphere and a GREAT playlist! Food is incredible, portions are huge. We'd recommend the sharing tortilla chips, the korrito, the gastronome burger and the house fries. What a beautiful place to spend an evening.

Popped in for brunch on a Monday....We had the "Builders" breakfast, I think it was called, which was very good, but we saw many other great looking dishes coming out while we were there, too....Coffee and tea, were also very good. Ambience was pleasant enough, and service was fine....Personally, I don't agree with the discretionary "Tip" of 12.5% being added automatically, but maybe that's just me being old fashioned! Overall, we enjoyed the experience, and would definitely dine there again, next time we visit Bury St.Edmunds....Would like to try the scrambled egg & bacon on toast next time....It looked great! 👍

one of my favorite brunch spots!

I went for a dinner here and was not very impressed with the portion sizes. I had the chicken souvlaki and it arrived presented as one giant wrap with the salad and chips inside the pita bread wrap, it was really difficult to eat like this so I ended up taking it apart. There were four small pieces of chicken and about ten chips. It cost me £15 and I didn’t feel this was good value for money. I would not go back and would not recommend. I felt ripped off quite frankly.

I am coming for the first time. The breakfast and ambiance were nice, but I cannot say the same for the staff. I asked for mustard and mayonnaise, she brought mustard but she did not bring mayonnaise and put mustard very hard on the table. The staff was very rude and incompetent. If there is something you didn't eat for breakfast and you want to change it, they charge extra money. When I wanted to change my egg, the staff did not tell me about it, I saw it at the cash register. I don't think I will come again.

Food - fantastic, filling and tasty, a little pricey though. Atmosphere - good buzz, music was a little loud, windows were wide open which made it refreshing in the first summer weather of the year. Service - lacking, we weren't see for almost 30 mins after our food and contemplated getting dessert elsewhere. Our server didn't want to be there or make our experience stellar. Others - the pay at table system is a joke, an additional charge of £1.19 for us to be able to save staff time by paying online is ludicrous. There was a service charge of 12.5% added on which we had to request to remove. The service we received was not worth a tip, and was embarrassing to have to ask to remove. A staff tip is optional, and 12.5% is more than the 10% I would normally give anyway for adequate service.

The restaurant advertises on just eat, however they apparently don't know this (menu attached in the photos) and 45 minutes after placing your order it gets cancelled irrespective of accepting the order. They have refused to refund the money and claim it's not their problem, didn't even offer to contact just eat to get it resolved. Absolutely shocking that a business doesn't know where it's advertising and letting customers down repeatedly.

We had a hen party at gastronomy with karaoke, and had an absolutely awesome time , Jess helped us plan, and on the night Maddie over saw everything and made a great night even better ,thank you the gastronomy team , we would definitely recommend

Booked the diva and dine for a hen do it was really good had a private room with plenty of space. Jess has been really helpful right from the start and maddy was really helpful on the night all the staff were really friendly especially with such a big group. We all had a fab time I would highly recommend

Myself and my husband had the builders breakfast. My husband always finishes cooked breakfast when we eat out but this beat him 😃 it was delicious. Food was hot, came out quickly and service was great. Will definitely return.

Had to wait about 30 mins for food to arrive once it had arrived I was disappointed as had ordered the £15 'Return of the Mac' which was a fairly small portion and was very watery. Also had a £10 service charge applied to our bill (which also took about 30 minutes to arrive) seems unnecessary considering food is overpriced to begin with. Wouldn't go again

My partner and I came to Gastronome with some friends. The service was not with a smile and when they were bringing all the meals out, they asked us if we had everything and they had forgotten my partners meal. The waitress said she would sort it. At this point, I think she completely forgot about us as she didn't ask how our meals were or asked if we needed more drinks. A different waitress came over asking about the missing meal and we said, well everyone is finished now so don't worry about it, as our original waitress didn't bother to give us an update, despite saying she would sort it. I gave my partner half my mac n cheese which had no salt, pepper or any form of seasoning. Our original waitress provided us with the bill and said "sorry for the mistake" but added a £21 service fee which we asked to be removed, given the missing meal and lack of service. I give it a 5 for atmosphere as the company we were with was great and the establishment itself was clean and busy, but I won't be going back.

Long wait for pretty average, getting cold food

This was my second visit to Gastrono-me. My first wasn’t the best (Cambridge) but this time around I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and price (Bury) portions were huge so order sparingly.

Been here several times. Food is always unreal. The Nacho burger is by far the best burger I’ve ever had! The banana bread is amazing. Couldn’t rate this place enough

Came for a late Sunday brunch. Got a nice seat in the window, service was great. Annie who served us was great. Another server holly we over heard dealing with a very difficult customer who was incredibly rude, uncoperative and aggresive. She dealt with the whole situation so well and the customer service was impeccable. Definitely recommend.

We always have a good experience at Gastronome. The menu and the quality of the food is great and the staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. Today they dealt with an abusive and aggressive customer and the staff were professional and calm in an upsetting situation. We highly recommend this restaurant

Disappointing!! Cold Food, as stated by the manager, apparently “chips and chicken aren’t served hot in a wrap ? “ extremely rude management who needs to learn some customer service and manners!

We were in a doubt although finally we thought that only because of the name of the restaurante it was worth trying it. The food was good and tasty, but the service was awful and slow. We will not be back, especially for that reason, but mainly because of an strange incident: one of the waiters was sniffing the cream he was putting on top of a milk-shake. We rejected it. Nevertheless, we could see that instead of flushing it into a sink, the waiter took it to another table. Utterly disgusting.

We've only ever eaten breakfast and brunch here, but it's our go-to place when we visit Bury. Lovely situation on the hill down to the park, staff are always excellent, and the food is *chef kiss*.

Have been going here since it was a small deli. Good food and their new restaurant is spacious and well decorated. The service was usually good but can get very busy so you might have to wait. A good place for food in Bury St Edmunds.

We booked a table , arrived and waited 20 minutes to be served. Then waited 40 minutes for our food the waitress who was serving us was rude and seemed to not care . After the 40 minutes wait she came over and said our order was not put through and seemed too not care that she didn’t put our order through and came a cross angry . We ended up leaving after waiting for one hour to be served and for our food . Overall horrible experience and waisted our day I do not recommend .

Overpriced & underwhelming. Nice surroundings. Very slow service even though it was quiet. Scrambled egg ‘Kevin’ was good but pancakes and bacon overcooked & very tough. Nobody asked us how the food was. 12.5% service charge added as standard so you have to have that slightly awkward conversation with the wait staff. Misses the mark.

Never been before, won't be going back. Fairly quiet lunch time, not a massive wait for food, but long enough. Drinks delivered to table by waitress holding the glasses round the rim, this was the first warning sign. we weren't told about the festive menu which looked better than the standard menu offerings. I ordered a Korean beef burrito, my wife a halloumi souvlaki wrap and some cheesy fries to share. The food came out cold, the cheese sauce on the undercooked fries had split and was just a pool of runny fat and water with a handful of lukewarm half cooked chopped bacon on top, the 'molten lava' experience promised on the menu was somewhat lacking, menu also states it has pico and spring onions on top, ours had some badly cut tomato with a little red onion seemingly completely separate from the tomato, which is definitely not pico de Gallo, the spring onions were just missing. For the price tag, the burrito, even if it had been hot, certainly wasn't worth the money, the portion size was simply terrible, for £14 it was seriously underwhelming, Fries in the wrap were also under cooked, still slightly hard in the middle, the whole meal was just unappetising and rather tired in presentation and quality, really had expected better. Told the waitress who offered to replace the food, but I explained that if that's what the kitchen are happy to send out first time round, I really wasn't interested. She was friendly, apologetic and dealt with it well, other than that, Disappointing all round.

Had lunch here whilst Xmas shopping, very good food, especially the mac and cheese and souvlaki.

Stunning food, really really delicious. Great presentation. So many flavours. Drinks a little pricey (soft drinks meaning) but its a minor really. Had Pain Perdu and hash browns, which were stunning!

Quiet Wednesday night only a couple of tables being used but the food was quick and the hostess helped our party choose food. Carefully explained Coeliac options as we had special dietary requirements. The Bao buns (Prawn) are properly good. The burgers were overcooked. I like mine just done and juicy. If they're quality burgers don't cremate them...!!! Pasta was also top notch.

We had a really great lunch at ski themed Gastrono-me. I had the tartiflette sharer myself with a side salad and it was fantastic. Music not too loud, nice ambience, spot on service. Reasonable value too, recommended

Attentive staff, food was lovely. There was a dog with another family so guessing they are dog friendly, always a plus point with me

We went on a quiet mid week evening; the staff were excellent and very helpful in dealing with an allergy. The food was a real treat, both the hallumi tacos and the budda bowl.

The atmosphere was good, especially the seats outside but we get served inside. The staff was really helpful and positive. The foods took a while to come out. We had Chicken Souvlaki and Gastronome Burger and both of them were pretty standard. We were expecting a little bit more from the food, especially after the wait, thus the 3 star.

A bit disappointed with our visit. 20 minute wait for our food - we were the first in. No apology from waitress. My breakfast menu choice said eggs but it was egg. Pointed this out but no reaction at all. Asked for tea with soya milk and was told when we'd finished that it was normal milk - a good job no dairy allergy. Plenty of other places in Bury St Edmunds so won't be rushing back.

I have been hearing amazing things about this restaurant and finally decided to try it out. Man am I upset I didn't go earlier. We got the gastrono-me hash and the salmon scramble. Both were delicious with massive portions, but the hash was mind blowing with how much rich flavor was packed into that dish! I would definitely get it again, but maybe would split it.

I was seated quickly upon entering (Reserved a table but there was only 1 other table filled) and given the menu, it took about 5-7 minutes for the server to ask for my drink order, ordered food at the same time and was told the all day brunch menu does not start until midday (name is a little misleading). Food took a while to come out for both main and dessert but was hot and delicious. Service was a little slow despite not many tables being filled and is my only complaint, would recommend this place for some good food.

Good food nice staff very enjoyable experience

Had the chicken souvlaki, which was very tasty, my wide had the hash which had a decent spicy kick to it. Enjoyed the food, delicious banana shake and service was friendly and efficient

The wonderful crew at Gastrono-me made us feel right at home, matching our vibe and chatting with us all evening as we tried to get them to join our event (shoutout to Carla and Maddie for being absolute legends with us, and being patient with those who had drunk a bit more!)

Slow service, food was lukewarm and very small portions. And added the ripoff service charge to the bill as well. On the plus side a nice atmosphere and food tasted nice

Simply amazing, staff were very helpful and very polite. Manager/supervisor was polite and provided dog bowls for food and water. But the food, just incredibly tasty. If it was on my doorstep I would visit frequently. #gastronome hash.

Food is good (and the presentation is great). The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and in a great location. However, there were some bad points. We had a table booked for 11:30 and were only given breakfast menus (no big deal, we could have asked for other ones but didn’t). I asked two different staff members three different times for a high chair for my 18 month old and eventually had to go to the back of the restaurant and get one myself—and this was midday on a Wednesday with a very quiet restaurant so it couldn’t even be blamed on being busy. My friend ordered a cup of tea and it didn’t even have a spoon. The top piece of the breakfast bagel stack I ordered was slathered in oil (maybe to look nice) so it was really greasy and super messy to eat (still totally delicious). All in all, two breakfasts, a cup of tea, and a very tiny orange juice came to over £40, which is outrageous. This is a country with no tipping culture, and it becomes painfully obvious in situations like this—little effort is put into the service provided. The food was good, the staff was polite, and maybe it was an off day, but it was not worth coming back with how highly it’s priced.
