Best Indian restaurant on haverhill so friendly lovely food

First time trying this Indian. We collected the order which was ready on time. Hot and fresh food really good portion sizes of each dish. I recommend trying the onion bhajis, chicken shashlik and chicken tikka masala. All of the sides and nann we ordered were also delicious. We will be returning for our next Indian takeaway.

Take away Terrible portion size we paid £4.95 for 4 little cubes of tough lamb. Got one whole popadom and small portions on the other 3 dishes. Not a good experience we will not be using again tried calling the restaurant to report but no one answered the phone :(. I must say though the delivery driver was wonderful, very helpful and friendly.

Great food and service with a relaxed atmosphere

The food was average, but the service was terrible. I had experience of dining in many Indian restaurants in the UK, but in terms of service, this was awful and ridiculous. We ordered a Tuesday deal which was £14.95 and includes 1 starter and one main dish. We also ordered half chicken tandoori. However the size of the chicken was very small, initially I thought it was a quarter piece but after a while realized that it was a half chicken. Biryani was average. For this they billed £33 pounds and when asked for the bill and requested to explain the bill items, and they just started to misbehave and asked me to pay only £15. Although I was ready to pay the bill in full, and requested multiple times to take full amounts whatever was due, the owner refused and asked the waiter to charge only £15. The owner was behaving so rude and was shouting inside the restaurant and asking waiting never to ever allow any Indian, Pakistani and Bangali people inside the hotel. He did't have the manners to behave. I never ever suggest any Indian, Pakistani or Bangali people to visit this restaurant. The service and behaviour was awful 😡😡🤨🤨

DONT waste your money, we came here a week ago on a Sunday and were the only ones in the restaurant and the food was really good, So we decided to come back tonight, BIG mistake!! Food was awful, stone cold and the worst service ever!! The table next to me a was also complaining about there food and a customer brought a takeaway back all tonight, asked for the bill bearing in mind we ate nothing and charged us for everything, we sent it back they knocked 10% off, we complained again about it and the owner just said pay for the drinks Terrible service terrible food needless to say we won’t be returning

Inside has been redone very nice seating. Food was really good, good portions tasty. Haven't been in years would definately go again.

Food tasted nice, like any other indian I had but god the portion sizes were terrible. I was expecting more for the price and rating, especially saag paneer, I only got 5 spoonfools in the container thats so small already! 1/4 of the small tin container shown in other reviews, ridicilous for 5 pounds! The other portions at best 3/4 filled. Will not order again probably.

Never disappointed, amazing food and service.

Food was tasty but the portions were really small. We bought chips from Benny’s after our dining experience. I prefer if the furniture was not brand new but did not go home hungry.Service was quite slow as they had quite a lot takeaways. It a nutshell, eat at home before going to dine at Raj Mahal.

I've eaten in a few Indian restaurants across the UK over the years but this is the first where food had to be sent back on two of the mains due to uncooked chicken. No price reduction for this either even though I'm sure they just tried to re-cook the same meat. Some bits still not looking cooked enough so the dishes remained largely untouched. Sauces for the other dishes tasted like they'd been re-heated from previous days batches and felt like I needed to put a hammer to the onion bhajis to break them into smaller pieces, they were so rock solid. Menus felt sticky to the touch along with some of the drinks glasses that came out which wasnt a great tell-tale sign. No hot drinks available and no explanation why even though they were on the desert menu. I'm unsure how they have a 5 hygiene rating knocking out chicken like that and should have heeded to the persons review who mentioned food poisoning. Hopefully, my wife and daughter will survive the night without throwing up.

I stepped in at 9pm but the restaurant closes at 10pm. Only takeaways was told by the manager but it was unfortunate he were favourable to two ladies sitting there on the table .

Order ready on time. The food was still very hot by the time we got home. The currys were fantastic and full of flavour. Would recommend this as a takeaway or to sit in the restaurant.

Terrible food. Had two chicken kormas both tasted different. My korma the chicken tasted off. Only are half and was I'll for two days with diarrhoea andsickness.luckily my daughter was ok. Rice was cold .popadoms were in pieces. Avoid home delivery from here.

Nice restaurant, clean, tidy. Seating could be a little more comfy. Food good. Smaller portions than most restaurants, but from our table of 7, there wasn't any waste. Portion sizes were just enough for 1 person. Staff polite and helpful. I had booked the table online. Arrived at the time booked, to be told no booking. But it was early evening, so accommodating us was not a problem. In fact the staff were very helpful. The only downer, hence the 4 out of 5. The toilets, could do with a refurb. Also to accommodate the mobility needs of customers, grab handles and higher toilets, would be an improvement. As would warm water to wash your hands and a hand drier, that is more efficient than the one there at the moment. Maybe next time, these issues might have been addressed. Would recommend and will go again, as the food is good.

The food is tasty however the prices are getting a bit expensive. Also the prices seem to be higher ordering over the phone than on just eat. The chicken in the Currys can sometimes be quite dry.

Lovely Indian restaurant excellent service and wonderful dining atmosphere

I phoned through as my regular curry house was close until further notice, the gentleman I spoke to was lovely and funny, I went to collect my take away as don't deliver to my area, and meeting the gentleman he was really funny and the food was AMAZING!!! I'm converted! Will definitely be visiting again! Thank you so much for a beautiful meal :)

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone, it’s not Indian cuisine, it’s bangoli cuisine.... We received a delivery on 24/02/21, the whole chicken is not cooked properly and it’s too hard to eat. Look like the chicken is cooked week before, deforested and cooked again for the delivery. also the than chicken tikka is full of red food colouring, and hard like rubber, the chicken never tasted like chicken. The special fried rice: too oily and with yellow food colouring, my white plate turned into yellow colour. Lamb & chicken curry: both same taste there is no different except the meat. They put the different meat into same gravy, Tooooooo oily, before eat the curry need to separate the oil first. It’s really wasting of money, I wouldn’t buy in the place never again.......

first time using this restraunt,used just eat to order,was told my food was on its way at 18.55 at 19.15 sent a message to say it was late then to be told 19.35.food turned up cold.

Really good food and excellent service

Just had our 3rd takeaway from here, we've always really enjoyed the food. Plenty of options on the menu, all well made and definitely has that home made feel. My only issue is the the price/portion size of the side dishes. Compared to many other Indian restaurants we've eaten from its definitely an issue. In terms of food and service though, it's spot on!

Best Indian food in Haverhill. No arguments.

Staff extremely rude excluding 1 woman, food was average. Not worth visiting. Staff wouldnt give us the reciept and continue to make us wait because we didnt want to buy dessert. Then put the reciept infront of us and made us wait another 15min before paying. Would have return if we werent forced to wait.

Ordered twice in the last month and both times it's been excellent. Typical curry house food but just really well done. I'd almost given up on Indian food in Haverhill so it's great to see this place is consistent (both orders were early on a Friday so can't comment on test of week) Bloke on phone is quite abrupt but he gets the orders right. Will try the Sunday buffet soon.

Lovely food, fairly good service.

Very nice food however the portion sizes are way to small, felt like I was eating a kids meal. Waiter was unenthusiastic and gave all the food out to the wrong people. Prices are pretty average for an Indian.

Always great food, really nice curries and the best value for money you’ll find. Had to wait a little bit longer for our takeaway last time as someone took our bag by mistake but the staff were great and friendly and gave us a free bottle of wine for the wait :) Not had a bad meal from there yet.

Went with my fiancé for a birthday meal on 27th Jan. Nice ambience..service was ok could have been better but to be fair it was busy and they were short staffed. However the food was excellent...my Raj chicken and prawns was delicious tender and succulent with bags of flavour nice rice...not greasy and a lovely light keema naan. His chicken tikka madras was hot and full of flavours. We both agreed we will be going there again very soon.

got a take away 27/10.. was done in 5 mins got home it was runny coloured water and cold ,usually ok but will never go again,5 mins wasnt long enough to heat it never mind cook .. and this morning i am pissing out of my arse
