What a wonderful cafe in the absolutely beautiful, exquisite grounds of the crematorium. The necessary wait for the cremation service of your family or friend becomes much easier to bear, and the staff are friendly, kind and totally understanding of your situation.

We love this place, it sounds odd to go to a crematorium for lunch but the setting as actually lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is good and good value for money. Highly recommend cafe.

Great idea for meeting family over coffee or lunch before or after a funeral. Bookable room after a service for holding a small wake with tea and cake.

We used the Meadow cafe to hold our Dear Mums wake. The food was fantastic, the staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble. The room was perfect our mum would have loved it. We had the afternoon tea which everyone enjoyed.. Thank you for making a sad day easier, thank you for your compassion understanding for showing us dignity in our grieving. Kind regards family of Marcia self

We had our 2 hour slot. The food was tasty and plentiful. We ordered way too much but they had containers given to us to pack up the rest of the food. Separate food was given to our coeliac (although they were unable to have the gluten free salad options as the sandwiches has to be passed over the salad and would have contaminated them) and to our dairy free guest. Lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend!!!

Lovely cafe amongst the grounds of the crematorium. You can sit here and enjoy a lovely coffee whilst waiting for the service to begin. The bacon and cheese turnover I had was delicious. As was the scone I had. I wish more crematoriums would do something like this. Lovey, friendly staff as well.

We used the catering facilities after a cremation this week and everyone there said how the function room and catering felt just right. There was a good choice and quantity of quality food for the occasion. The few items left over were gladly taken home by the mourners. We would certainly recommend to others.

We had my mother's wake at the Meadow Cafe and they seem to be using covid as an excuse to provide a terrible service. People had travelled some distance to attend and would have been hungry but what they served up was awful and some of it was inedible. Their menu had offered homemade sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche, salads ,cake etc and having attended a previous wake they had put on a really good buffet. Lots of sandwiches and several cakes . However, They said that due to covid we had to have a plate of food. This included 2 tiny sandwiches, a tiny price of quiche that leaked water and was completely tasteless. 1 sausage roll which was OK a small amount of tasteless pasta and various salad leaves. We also had 1 small slice of cake. It was nothing like the previous event and really bad value for money. It was so embarrassing that people were offered such dreadful food.

This is a Cafe at Bury St Edmunds crematorium and I can highly recommend it. I was there today as I arrived early for a funeral. Very pleasant and helpful staff. It has a lovely airy and bright atmosphere.

If you want warm white wine and lots on the menu that’s unavailable, then this is the place for you. We arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was empty but the girl pointed at a table we could have, when we could have sat anywhere! We were served white wine un-chilled / limited menu/ no chilli oil/ had to ask for cutlery and pepper, and this looked to be a hassle. The girl behind the bar seemed fed up and I asked for chilli oil 3 times and eventually she said they did not have any without telling me this. Felt bad for the boy waiter as he was apologising for all the failures that had occurred. We were also told the restaurant was busy dealing with the tables outside (there were only two covers). Can’t believe the pizzeria doesn't open until 5pm and they don’t have basic ingredients to fill the menu and the wine is not chilled. Call me old fashioned, but the customer is the customer and we are all paying a bill at the end of the night and expect good service and a smile. Food was actually nice but not an enjoyable experience. Lucy did not make us feel welcome. :-(
