What a delightful café, with a range of seats abd some outside in a cute little garden. I was served by a young man who was very chirpy, polite and helpful. The food looked lovely and good value so I asked the Manager for a Veggie Breakfast! It was delicious, particularly the extra touch of some avocado! The food was very tasty and there were copious amounts, all fresh and good quality. I had to dash due to parking concerns so wolfed it all down, but thanks! I thoroughly recommend this café for the atmosphere, the great service abd the quality food! I thoroughly recommend Lounge and Garden. Maggie

Stumbled into this lovely café with outdoor seating in the back, away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre :)) I love that you can pick your own ingredients in the smoothie and for iced drinks you can go large which you don’t see in cafes often for drinking in. Food also delicious - the menu was varied but easy to read in a short time as we were hungry to order 😂😂 Staff were very friendly, we will be back!!

A popular place for coffee. First time for lunch with a friend. Both ordered different sandwiches at nearly £8 each. Fillings generous, but the bread in both was dry.. not fresh on a Monday! Complained but just a perfunctory 'sorry about that'! Should do better.

This is a lovely place to have a coffee and cake and relax. The staff are always lovely and friendly, and go out of their way to accommodate you. In the summer you can sit in their little garden and enjoy the sunshine. They have Gluten Free and Vegan options so everyone is catered for. Their prices are a little expensive, but their service is second to none ! 😊

On a very busy Saturday morning in Bury St Edmunds we were struggling to find a spot for a bit of brunch and we luckily stumbled across the blackboard advertising this place which is neatly tucked away off the main drag. The staff are lovely and whilst a table was not immediately available we were sat as soon as possible. It's a lovely spot with a real buzz and I should imagine the garden is just glorious in good weather. Certainly onto remember and much better than any of the "chain" offerings!

Love this cafe. Been coming here regularly for years and it never disappoints. The service is friendly and quick, and the sofas and chairs are very comfortable. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. The gluten free options are fantastic! I normally order the jacket potato, beans, and cheese, which by the way is delicious, but recently I've had their toasted paninis and they are wonderful. I recommend the avocado, sundried tomatoes and pesto gluten free panini (pictufed) and their goats cheese and red onion chutney gf panini. Comes with side salad and crisps. They do gluten free cakes too - last time there was gf brownies and gf millionaires shortbread. They do takeaway too. Highly recommend!

My second visit here: The positives are that it is a good location in town, staff very friendly and welcoming, seating comfortable. There is also an outside area which in the warmer weather is lovely and they do really great milkshakes here. The negatives are that the food is hit and miss and can sometimes be small in portion size, a bit sloppy. It’s your basic “sandwich and crisps” style place for a high price. Dogs are allowed inside which would usually be ok, but the fact they have carpet on the restaurant floor screams poor hygiene. I visited today and there were two dogs, one of which was scratching every five mins and I just kept thinking how many fleas and dried dog drool is in this carpet. The dog then jumped up at my table and started trying to eat my food. I also found it very off putting that free tap water is in a rather limescaly jug which is kept on the same table as the dog biscuits and the dog bowl. Again not very hygiene. The windows could do with a good clean and the vents are quite blocked. I also wasn’t impressed that there were also screaming children running across the sofas which didn’t seem to bother staff and again considering others will have to eat there afterwards was quite off putting. There was another table with another child repeatedly banging something on the table for about ten mins which was clearly causing a nuisance to others and again staff were not concerned. This is more a place families with young kids and Dogs who just want a quick bite, and not a place to come if you want a hearty lunch in a peaceful setting. Would I come here again? If grabbing a quick milkshake on the way past maybe but otherwise probably not.

It’s a shame the menu is mainly bread, paninis, crisps and mostly beige non nutritional food. If only there was more veg, more salad and leafy greens. Very expensive for what you get especially when the plate is usually bulked up with crisps. Hot drinks are very expensive and they charge 45p extra for Oat milk which is diabolical. More variety needed, cheaper hot drinks and STOP charging astronomical prices for Oat milk. Staff are always friendly so that makes a pleasant change. Proper NUTRITIOUS FOOD NEEDED.

Luke warm soup Nothing sweet just hard scones. What a total shambles! Couldn't even drown out sorrow with a pre flight glass if Prosecco. NOT included - extra cost! Red wine was beyond vile. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, there were lots of wildlife pictures on the walls which were for sale. We were greeted politely and shown to a table. A waitress soon came to take our order, and the drinks and food arrived in good time. My friend had what was described as a giant scone, I had a sausage roll. There was nothing giant about the scone, quite small really, and I’ve had better sausage rolls from my local filling station, mass produced rubbish. Pleasant surroundings and atmosphere spoiled by very mediocre food.

Having to pass people near the door is not a problem in any way, as this is an outside space and the people walking past should be wearing masks. Of course people should be considerate enough to move or turn away, but that is hardly the cafe's fault.

Some mummy friends and I visited The Lounge today with our 8/9 month old babies and were made to feel very uncomfortable. The owner's mother was sitting alone on the biggest table and it was therefore suggested by one member of staff that we should go elsewhere (we wish we had). The staff were overheard being very rude about us by a number of our group. In view of this, we didn't all buy lunch, as we had planned, but instead we fed our babies, let them play together for a few minutes and then left. With an emphasis being placed on improving maternal mental health by various organisations nationally, it's a shame that this small, local business made us feel like such an inconvenience. We won't be returning and certainly won't be recommending it to our other mummy friends.

Very unimpressed by the staff whom work here. Made to feel incredibly unwelcome. Will not be visiting or recommending this establishment again.

Good food, good prices. Has free wifi and a little garden out back you can sit at with your puppers. Highly recommended to give this place a try!

Costa with a smile 😃 I am more drawn to coming back to this Costa then other situated in the area, here you always get a smile, conversation and exquisite coffee where as others lack that personal touch Jodie and Beckie compliment each others customer service really well and will make sure you start your day the correct way!!

Took my daughter here as it’s her (and my) favourite place to go. It’s so pretty inside and we had a really nice time treating ourselves after shopping. Great place to take some nice photos and the food is great x

An exceptional roast in stunning surroundings at incredible value for money with spot on service. I think that’s all the elements covered. This was a faultless experience had by myself and my partner. The roast was absolutely gorgeous, we both had the celeriac wellington. Packed full of flavour and served pipping hot, 10/10 roast potatoes, then a huge selection of vegetables, extra gravy and stuffing. Complimentary sparkling water, linen napkins, sea salt and pepper grinders ( because they DO make the difference between good and great) in a buzzy atmosphere. Here’s the best bit…. £16. Yup, that’s no typo, This is without doubt, bang for buck the best value roast in or around Bury. I didn’t actually want to write this review as I wanted to keep this a hidden secret but the team have worked so hard to make this place work (it hasn’t for decades now) it would be rude not too. So enjoy….. I’d probably book

Really roomy , lots of easy parking . Steps and ramp so easy for my friend who had baby in a buggy . Service was great , polite , friendly and attentive without feeling rushed . We were having a much needed girls lunch and the choice was fab . Varied menu Alf choices for all appetites . Vegetarian choices too . I had the coronation chicken wrap which came with a cute pot of delicious fried and coleslaw . It was yum . Hot chocolate was really smooth and delicious too . Will definitely go again and highly recommend .
