Costa Coffee in St Edmundsbury

i went on a first date with a girl i met recently through work. the girl that served us our drinks was blunt and rude to both of us. she had split dyed hair which i think was purple. apart from her the rest of the date went great, the drinks were as good as usual and same with the food. i just didn't appreciate the service.

I came here on a date with someone i had recently met. We had our order taken by a woman with split dyed, purple and blue hair, she wasn’t welcoming and was quite ignorant towards us, it ruined the mood for the rest of our date. She was extremely passive aggressive and snarky, we felt very uncomfortable. Aside from this the drinks were very good but the service was poor.

Having stopped using this place a couple of years ago due to appalling customer service attitudes i today found myself popping in to get a take out coffee. Sadly it hasn’t gotten any better, possibly even a bit worse. I was standing at till waiting to order, one staff member walked straight past, then the second and then the first again. After a while (felt like 5 mins) the first finally decided she would now take my order. I don’t know if it’s a generational thing as staff here always seem to be youngsters or whether it’s a coffee shop thing but customer service still stinks here

Only two staff on duty at 9am but luckily we were at the front of the queue. Our friends came in 5 minutes later and it took 20 minutes for them to get served. When another member of staff arrived they had him clearing tables instead of prioritising on getting the queue down. A friend who hadn’t been there before said ‘why do you come here if they are slow and so expensive?’. Because one of our group is snobbish about his coffee.!We convinced him that Greggs is half the price for breakfast so we’re off there next time. It’s not as if the Haverhill Costa building is particularly nice anyway.

It was a good service We had to wait a couple minutes to get served but it wasn’t long Drinks were good but marshmallows weren’t marshmallows, they tasted more like jelly £1 extra each for marshmallows and another £1 extra for whipped cream £8.80 for 2 hot chocolates with whipped cream and marshmallows

Not as good as it once was -gone downhill. I think there is a new manager. One member of staff, who may well be the manager spends her time chatting and ignores customers. The other staff do the work. Drinks are nice, food is lovely but the whole atmosphere has changed.

Have visited this location several times and I have always been disappointed. Poor service, hygiene and product availability are the normal for this location. I’m not sure if this is a site operated by a franchise partner or is owned and operated by Costa itself, however usual brand standards do not apply here across product availability, drink preparation and customer service. Always plenty of team on site who unfortunately seem reluctant to serve, clean tables, sweep the floor and smile! Please sort this unit out and deliver the service, coffee and food experience the brand is usually associated with.

On Tues. afternoon 30.11.21 I had experienced a very bad day, with people letting me down & things going wrong. I decided to treat myself to a take-away coffee; the tall, young man with light coloured hair was extremely kind to me, and because of his actions I walked home smiling all the way. He made my day! Thank you.

I regularly visit this Costa and find the staff are friendly and the drinks always made perfectly. This time we had a strawberry and cream frostini and my daughter had a mint one.

I called into Costa Haverhill to purchase drinks and take advantage of the 50p hot drinks. Due to the special offer, it was very busy in store and after waiting approximately 30 minutes I made it to the counter. The woman who served me asked if I realised only hot drinks were priced at 50p, I confirmed I did as I seen the posters etc. The woman then proceeded to tell me I was rude and sarcastic and refused to serve me. To say I was shocked beyond belief is an understatement, I explained I had not intended to be rude in any way and just wanted to buy drinks. She then told me she'd been at work since 8 a.m. and worked two hours overtime and was fed up with people like me! She then told her colleague, I was rude and sarcastic and she was fed up with people like me, humiliating me in front of staff and customers, when I had not been rude to her AT ALL, quite the opposite. I was then asked to leave the shop, as her outburst heightened. While I appreciate we are living in difficult times and the coffee shop was very busy, this attitude and behaviour is completely unacceptable.

Popped in for a couple of coffees whilst visiting Haverhill high street. Not the most exciting Costa I,ve been in basically just a large open space with tables and chairs but non the less extremely busy. The staff were ok but again not as welcoming as in other Costas.

Visited yesterday and the floor was covered in food, empty containers and general dirt. Staff not paying attention - ordered 2 hot chocolates in different sizes and almost got charged for the same. Hot chocolate has lumps of powder in it. No marshmallows, but 2 spoons, one of which had been licked. Asked for clean spoon, guy wiped it with side cloth and handed it back. Guy preparing coffees had long hair dangling over food and drink - but headband on top. Visited loo and there was paper and water all over the floor. Absolute disgrace and I won't be going back - avoid at all costs

Called in at about 130pm after doing some shopping with wife. Had 2 coffees and a snack. Made to feel welcome by staff. Served by Daniel very pleasant. Not too many customers at this time so plenty of room and had choice where to sit. On further observation noticed cobwebs in lights so need to pay attention to this. Would visit again.

Unfortunately I popped in here to have a drink before driving to my next visit. The server had leaked boiling water over the counter & hadn’t mopped it up, my tray was placed in the water and the transferred to my table so I couldn’t get my laptop out. The kitchen door was left open to see those working in the kitchen. The loo was messy. There just wasn’t any love in the place! On leaving the doors were filthy with finger prints all over.

Nice coffee with seats outside what more can you want on a sunny day and you have to go shopping in town

Tables full and dirty. Windows and doors grubby covered in finger marks and other marks. Coffee okay but just felt uncomfortable. Toilet not clean. Very pleasant friendly staff.

This is a lovely Costa. The staff are always so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It can be hard to get a table as it gets so busy but that is normal in most places around lunchtime.

My wife and I visted Costas with our dog and sat outside to eat and dring Al fresco. There are about x 4 tables and chairs, some with ashtrays. This Coffee House is very popular, with people entering and leaving all the time. My wife went in and ordered the coffees and a teacake, I sat outside with my dog. I started chatting with several others sitting at the tables, they were all very sociable and nice people. Some attend Costa every day in groups and sit and chatted whilst eating and drinking and SMOKING. There is always a strong Polish contingent here and they are very sociable to talk to. When the coffees and teacake arrived (about 10 minutes) we sat back and relaxed. You wont get a better Cappuchino coffee anywhere, their coffee is realyl something special, well worth the money. The teacake? was OK. We like this Costas and return on a frequent basis now. The only thing which lets it down, is the unclean seating areas outside, what a shame.Get this sorted and its 4 stars! For coffee tasting and Very, Very nice staff (the waitress's and manager are brilliant, sociable and really customer service people) you wont find better! Very disappointed. The store had no food in the fridges, and cold drinks were limited. The store smelt very unpleasant, I think it was stale milk. The staff were slow and unhelpful.

A good place to either grab a coffee to go or consume on site. A full range of drinks and some food, cakes, biscuits etc.

I recently visited family in Haverhill, having just arrived I took the family out to do a bit of shopping and nip for a Costa to unwind after a long journey. We frequently visit Costa back in the north of the UK where we live so I am pretty aware of the orders etc.

Staff very friendly and happy always suggest for you to try new ranges of coffees. Hot chocolate for children is excellent but could do with smaller size cold drinks for children.

Esta cafetería ha sido en Haverhill durante bastante tiempo ahora, y, aunque he mirando a través de la ventana, nunca han sido efectivamente. Hoy, mi marido me llevó allí para una taza de café rápida antes de ir a casa. Aunque sólo había aproximadamente una docena de personas en la cafetería, me di cuenta de que algunas de las mesas estaban desordenado y sucio. Tuve que limpiar una mesa para mi marido y yo para sentarse. Mi marido volvió con las bebidas y estaban bien. Antes de que nos fuéramos visité el loo. Me bondad, estaban asquerosas. El portarrollos wc (ya sabéis, los que contener grandes cantidades de papel higiénico) mega estaba vacía y había excrementos por el pan que parecía haber estado allí durante algún tiempo. No había escobilla para eliminar dicho excrementos y en general fue bastante horrible. Cuando dejé el wc informé a uno de los camareros que me miraban como si yo era de otro planeta. Mi primera impresión en una primera visita no era buena. Voy a regresar? Quizás, para ver si hay una mejora, pero sin duda estos wc deben ser monitoreadas al menos cada hora y la mesa deben estar limpias.

Just stopped off at this costa coffee for a warming drink. The coffee was good, but.......... I did notice that the cloth used to wipe the hot milk spout had definitely seen cleaner and better days, but the tables needed to be cleared and certainly...

I do like Costa Coffee. where ever you visit the menu is always consistent . Unfortunately I do have hearing aids and find all of these types of establishments are incredibly noisy . I do try to visit when there are not many children around...

Not the best Costa The place could do with a lick of paint! There wasn't a good selection of cafes to choose from so we thought we would try this as it was part of a chain I wouldn't rush back to Haverhill

Popped in to Costa in Haverhill, staff were great, but oh boy were they busy, there was no where to sit sadly, so I got a coffee to go.

Going to the local gym,twice (three times if we can make it)!!..a week can sometimes mean we (my friend) and myself pop to Costa for a coffee, and chat, of course!!..When Costa first opened we were very chuffed, but to be honest we were not sure it would stay the distance..you have to pay more for good coffee, and thought it might not draw enough trade..thankfully it's gone strength to strengh..why?..because the product is excellent, the service is a 100% every visit..which in turn makes for VERY happy customers..

Good coffee , friendly staff, been here alot, sometimes coffee not always hot enough. Some GF options at the counter, eg snacks etc

I have never had a bad experience in here. Staff are always so friendly. They are happy to make up a coffee with milk that I provide (due to allergies) and have even brought me over a glass of water when I've been breastfeeding my son in there. Fantastic all round.

I love this place,the staff are so welcoming and friendly and remember what drinks you have so you don't even need to ask. The manageress called Leah is amazing. She is always willing to help with any queries or problems you have and has a little fan club of customers children that she always makes a fuss off.The refurbished has totally transformed the place and there is now a bit more seating.Would definatly recommend a visit

Great place for food and coffee, the drink selection is fab. The staff are so friendly. My only criticism would be the state of the decor, it seems in need of a revamp.

We love going to this Costa in our home town of Haverhill. The service is fantastic and the coffee is great, the team really work well together and they remember our order. I have rated 4 stars purely because it needs a refit, the furniture has seen better days and needs some investment to really tidy it up.

Always a cheerful friendly face in the morning even when its January outside. Don't be down on this place becasue it's a chain - the staff make it a pleasure to visit.

I have been to Costa in Haverhill a few times with friends and family. The staff are generally friendly and apologetic when the place is busy and have to wait for drinks. A good place to go for coffee and a chat.

I went here with a friend. Hot chocolate was lovely but not as hot as I would have liked. Table looked clean but felt sticky. Asked for marshmallows with my drink and was expecting the mini ones but got 2 big ones on saucer. Nice relaxed atmosphere though and I would go back.

We visited twice on our recent trip to see family in the Haverhill area. Twice I helped myself to the free WIFI whilst enjoying a very nice Latte. The toilet facilities were also good and clean. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Visited today and whilst it was hot outside, it was lovely and cool in Costa. Love the creamy coolers especially the mint one and a lovely Barista called Emily was so friendly and chatty which makes a big difference.

You can't beat a coffee from Costa, and this shop is no different. A good range of hot and cold drinks and snacks. The only reasons I never gave it 5 stars is for the following reasons: Staff chat among themselves and this can make people feel uncomfortable (we're talking about discussing what they did last night, where they're going on their day off etc). Serving can be slow in busy times. Coffee never seems to be hot, rather warm. Additionally, its one of the highest priced coffee places in town.However, the coffee (especially when hot) is wonderful.

This is a well managed branch of the Costa chain.Always a friendly welcome from the staff.Good atmosphere, particularly on a Saturday morning.My wife and I are regulars.

I was not a coffee shop drinker until Costa came to our Town! then I thought, well I might as well see what all the fuss is about and I haven't looked back since. However! I must say after getting hooked on the many different types of refreshing cool summer drinks, to the warm welcoming hot chocolates on a cold wintery day, the staff are somewhat different.... Haverhill Costa is the Place to go for that All Round Perfect Experience, It is Service with a Pleasant smile chat and a great coffee and experience that will have you going back there again and again! Im Hooked , but Only for a sit down in Haverhill Branch and Takeaways if im out of Town. Nowhere beats the Hospitality and Service of this particular Branch, Well done to all the staff that work the different shifts, you always Make my visits a relaxing pleasant stay. Ohh and the Cakes are divine :-)

A really nice place to escape to, great coffee, great cakes, great place to catch up up and just be. Lovely staff too!!

I do like this costa as the staff are outstanding but trying to get a seat on a weekend is pretty tough. This isn't helped by customers reserving a table by placing their bags or flowers at a table and then queuing up 5 places behind you. I think I will limit my visits to week days only.

We went in when the town was having its open evening celebration. The Haverhill Choral Society were singing carols and Costa's was packed but it was good fun and the drinks came quickly. And as always the staff went out of their way to serve us.

A refuge on the High Street were you can watch all of life pass by after you have had a kebab, chips, pizza or a baby.

Ideally placed in the High Street this Costa (like most) is always busy and you may have a wait for a table depending on the time of day. Staff are pleasant and service is quick and efficient.It's a typical Costa - you get what you expect!

My first visit to the Costa in town. Very clean, great service with a smile. As expected coffee at it's best and comfortable seating area.

They knew my our order by day 2! Amazing customer service and always clean and inviting. I just wish we could come back more often.

It is as you would expect, it is always busy so hard to get a seat, that shows customers are happy. You get what you would expect at a Costa.

Whenever I'm in town I always visit Costa while my wife is shopping, she joins me when she has bought out all the shops.It is a very popular venue consequently there is usually a queue but I have always managed to find a table. It is a good place to relax and read a newspaper and the service is excellent. One can't fault the staff in any way, they are always courteous and helpful and the last time I was there they were giving out samples of cake. I look forward to my next visit.

Great place to stop and watch the world go by. Lovely cosy feel to it and great coffee.Same great quality as in all Costas.

The surroundings were clean and comfortable, I love the bid cushioned seating area at the back. The coffee was really delicious and I enjoyed watching the little heart going on top of the foam. The staff were friendly and chatty and ensured you got exactly what you wanted. I would recommend a visit when you are shopping in the high street.

Costa aren't the cheapest when it comes to coffee, but they certainly know how to treat their customers! You're always greeted with a cheery smile and warm greeting! And although I've only had reason to complain once it was dealt with effectively straight away!

Coffee is excellent and service is very friendly. I go here at least once a week while waiting for my bus, I always feel very comfortable going in there on my own.

This simply is the most friendly and helpful Costa branch iconic of, if you are a regular customer the staff get to know you and can cater for individual needs such as help with carrying trays if needed.

Visited in June very busy costa great atmosphere but my coffee was cold, was replaced straight away, great customer service and nice place to sit and have a chat.

I come to costa to escape the busy day it has a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff, I would recommend to others.

Visited Costa Coffee with my children -plenty of choice of drinks, savoury snacks as well as cakes. Polite staff. Clean and tidy with a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Staff helped me carry the tray. Expensive but nice as a treat.

I POP In occasionally for a drink and cake. Every time I get a warm welcome. I don't go enough to be known by name, but enjoy the experience each time.

This Costa is just fantastic. It may be part of a national chain, but the staff make this place special. Very friendly and they even know how to make coffee 10/10
