Edmundo Lounge in St Edmundsbury

We visited for lunch on a Saturday. Long delays. Service poor food cold. We have aten at several lounges previously and been delighted. This time service and food disappointing. I would advise you avoid on Saturdays.

Menu prices are incorrect! Only realised after I'd paid. I queried the price of my lounge eggs as the menu said £8.75. I was told it was actually £9.75 - "sorry about that"! They didn't offer me my £1 back. Didn't leave a tip & won't be going back.

When you go out for a family meal for a special occasion you expect a certain level of service especially when you’re spending the thick end of £300, like your food and drinks order being taken from your table, you cutlery laid out for you instead of being dumped in a heap in front of you on the table and your table being cleared at a appropriate time after you’ve finished eating and not being left until you’ve left the building. I had to leave my meal to go order 5 drinks at the bar which was bad enough so asked the bar girl politely to bring them to the table and she said no I’ll give you a tray and you can take them yourself. So waited while my dinner got colder and took them myself. Real bad service and all the other staff were just standing behind the bar chatting. The restaurant was quiet so wasn’t like they were run off their feet. But if you order from the slow clunky app they will bring your drinks.. I don’t get it.. The food was ok-average chips were tepid burger bun was dry but the restaurant was nice and ambient. Wife said ladies wasn’t very clean unfortunately. Have eaten here a couple of times as live locally but seems to have gotten worse and the staff are under motivated and almost can’t be bothered with no customer interaction or fun and communication. Such a shame. Dont think we will be going back.

Six of us came in for a lunchtime meal, it was packed a good sign. We ordered drinks and food and when mine showed up the cowboy burger I had half a tin of chips and a tablespoon of warm coleslaw. The burger was amazing but let down by the chips and coleslaw. We don't live in Bury but probably wouldn't go back when we next visited, although the service was good, the place was clean.

I couldn't believe the rise in prices. I know food and dining out has gone up, but a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc at almost £30, was actually 11% Yellow Tail, which currently retails in the supermarket at £7.50 or even less. I found that disappointing. The food was also not as good as it used to be. The tapas ranged from tepid (patatas bravas) to overcooked (sweetcorn fritters and flat-bread). It was also cold, so we moved seats to try and warm up. A wine glass we were given was too dirty to drink from, so used a water glass. Asked about table water and were directed to the 'self-service' water which was empty. Hope I imagined it, but also noticed a member of staff eye-roll to her colleague at some other customers seated near us. Love Edmundo (see previos review), but really hope it doesn't start to go downhill. Will be a while before I return. Always a great atmosphere and lovely food.

Loved the relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. Staff were polite and respectful. Dog friendly as well. Would recommend to all my friends and family.

Lovely, a must try if in the area. We went for a birthday lunch with healthy or naughty options, wide choice classy drinks and good vibes sat inside.

Friendly staff, always helpful. Large selection and variety on the menu, good for groups. Dog friendly on the first floor. I really like the variety of drinks for both alcoholic and non alcoholic.

Great place to hang out, meet friends for casual dining. Range of different seating options, traditional tables and chairs, a leather sofa, armchairs and coffee table, with lots of delicious food options....we opted for tapas to share...maple chicken wings are amazing!... treated ourselves to scummy deserts - churros, and a sundae... what's not to like? Staff all friendly... Can order on the app or with staff. App very easy to use. Go have fun.

Dropped one star as the poached eggs were cold. Waiter a little over protective of cutlery.

Excellent and very friendly cafe/bar. Went with a friend and their dog and could not have been made more welcome. Bowls with treats and water for the dog as you enter. Staff were just wonderful and chatty and very helpful. We had a breakfast which was very nice and full of taste. The place itself is quirky which I love. All in all I will be returned in the future to try something else on their extensive menu.

Food was very very good, I had the burger and chips but it was great! Coconut iced cappuccino to go with which was amazing, atmosphere was great also, we sat on the sofas near the entrance which aren’t the best for your back but when it’s busy you just gotta get a seat. Would defo come back.

A lovely place and food a great atmosphere

Nice place to go and eat/drink. Food is good. My only criticism is, when ordering via the QR code, you are prompted to include a tip, which was 3 tiered. Why would you tip before you have eaten?.

We frequently visit this restaurant mainly for drinks as it’s got a lovely chilled atmosphere to it. The cocktails are great!

This review is purely based off the cleanliness of the wine glass I received, sent it back and got given one just as dirty

A good place for lunch and coffee

The Edmundo Lounge is great. I have only been to this branch a few times, but every time I have been the service has been excellent - very friendly staff, very helpful and smiley, food and drinks are delicious and made perfectly, it's always clean, and overall it's just a great visit when I've been. Dietary requirements are always considered, which is very important for me. The Lounges are always a great place to go, and Edmundo is always a pleasant visit :)

Stayed in Bury with my girlfriend. We wanted a place with a good and extensive vegan/plant based menu. With a whole menu to choose from, plenty of different things to try. The food was great, and decor was interesting and eye-catching. Most of the waitresses were pleasant, but one in particular seemed very apathetic, and we were more a hindrance to her evening.

The location is great! And the he staff are friendly and efficient! Sat upstairs and was too dark to read the menus so sat there with our phone torches. The menu had a great selection, but feel I just was unlucky today, my parents burger meals were great and they had been a few times before and had no complaints. But today my food was not good, and being out of the way and didn’t want to complain I ate what I could the chicken was burnt and dry, the noodles and vegetables tasted old and nasty was extremely disappointed:( the highlight was the coconut milk/ chocolate milkshake!

We, that's my two Daughters,two Grandchildren and I came in for lunch, I spent £49 which was acceptable. However we were disappointed that there were so many dogs which in an eaterie is not ok, at one time there was eight dogs surrounding us, then the dog on the next table urinated on the floor, just not on!!!! When I complained to the area manager saying there should be a dog free area she straight away said " there is one, upstairs". No where when I arrived was there a sign or verbal information to that effect. I would not expect so many dogs, in a town centre restaurant. In effect in means I will not return again. Shame as the food was excellent, the staff were efficient and friendly. Brian Moss and family.

No bad, friendly service. Slightly undercooked burger but tasty all the same

We went for a family brunch and was not impressed. Was really busy, but it was New Years Day. We waited 20* minutes for the coffees, & when they did arrive the waitress had taken to the wrong table and left them there. She said in a loud voice she didn’t know who they were for and joked about it and retrieved them from the other table. Then with the longest finger nails transferred our cups over holding the rim of each cup. I noticed she did this to every table she served. Not what you want someone’s fingers all over the cup rim your drinking from. The coffee was cold & had an off taste to it, It was awful. We waited another half an hour for the cold food to arrive, my daughter’s eggs were slimy and under cooked. We ate what we could but it wasn’t the best, especially when it cost £48 for 4 breakfasts ( 1 of them a child’s meal) Sadly we won’t be returning, such a shame as it’s always somewhere I’d choose to visit.

Great place. Went to Bury St Edmunds and overall was underwhelmed, but this place was excellent and made the trip.

Not a bad place to eat, the food most certainly isn't worth the money.. atmosphere was very relaxed, staff very polite.

It was scruffy and overpriced for what we had. There were 5 of us and no one enjoyed the food. I had the house burger which was a charred dried up piece of meat, Chios were cold. They were short staffed so a long wait which wasn’t a problem but of course the tables weren’t cleaned.

Me and hubby had a late breakfast here. Was very nice. The service was excellent.

Had meal recently. Nasi goreng and chilli. The nasi goreng was like a starter - I had to get more food from elsewhere afterwards, which I've never done before . Taste was fine - just incredibly small portion. Breakfast is great there but won't use for evening meal again.

Never had a bad experience here. Lovely friendly people and very cosy space. I always leave here happy and very full :D thank you

Food was ok could of been a lot hotter tho. Staff seemed to be very slow and didn't respond with any enthusiasm and didn't get back to us when we ask a question about something regarding our meal. Floor up stairs had big bits of fluff and hair floating around also. It's a shame as this was the first time in a while we used here but I feel it has gone down hill since our last visit.

What an unfortunate meal, not only did it take 40+ min for one "butter" chicken and 4 tapas but it was ALL so burnt the butter chicken was mostly black the cheese and sweet corn tapas as well as the chicken wings were all burnt and horrid, we have a 18 month old who couldn't end up eating because it was so bad. they refunded the Chicken but the rest was just as bad. what a pity, even with the wait it was a nice atmosphere.

When you walk in and are told to find a clean table not a good start staff (what staff) miserable as sin not a smile or a hello, food was awful burgers dry, garlic flat bread hadn't seen any garlic just covered in oil the shawarma was just over flavoured with yogurt and some yellow stuff made me gag after a while. Nice trendy place but with the way things were we thought we night have to serve our own food and possibly wash up our dishes. Won't return and such a shame as there are so many other places to eat lunch I rather have had a Greg's!!!!

Long wait to be served and nearly took an hour to get food

I was waiting in the bar for drinks and couldn't not notice how dirty was bar, all taps and floor. I ordered drink and after I saw in sink area and presumably glass cleaning brushes I ended up not drinking it. We sat by the table and it was dirty and sticky and there was knife on floor lying. Went upstairs to the toilet and noticed that sideboard upstairs next to toilet was not cleaned for ages with all kinds of things on it. Stuff didn't bother to clean area at all. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated and unique, are them people who work in there are not not happy or just lazy. Looks like management is very poor in there. Nice place, but looks like people who work in there are not proud themselves that work in such a place.

Love this place. Never had any issues. Helpful staff. Love the atmosphere, just so relaxed. Had lounge bacon cheeseburger burger this time - best ever had in any restaurant or bar.

It was such a lovely place to have food and a hot drink, highly recommended.

Very rude staff. On entering waited a while to then be told to sit were we like. All the free tables were dirty so sat at one, only to over hear the staff moan, “look at those two, they decided to sit at a dirty table”. If that’s their attitude, what would the food be like. So we just left. Life is too short to put up poor service from disinterested staff.

Even though they were short staffed, my friend and I had a great experience at Edmundos. The food was great and the service were spot on! Well done to the other hole team today!!!

Do not visit at the weekend if you are a table of more than 4. We were a table of 7 and a pushchair that were looking to enjoy brunch. Knowing that it may be busy at 11:30 on a Saturday I tried to book a table online. This was declined. When I phoned up (when the phone was finally answered) I was told that they don’t take bookings for less than 8 people and that I should turn up on the day and they would do their best to seat us. When I arrived, we were told there were no tables and we should come back at 1 or 2pm. They then said they don’t take bookings on a Saturday. I let them know of my phone conversation and the lady said we could wait. Meanwhile tables of 2, 3 and 4 were quickly shown to tables. We would never have been seated as smaller parties were taking the tables. An overall frustrating experience with little help as promised on the phone. Now enjoying brunch at damson and Wilde won’t be trying to bring custom there in the future.

Friend was over and we came for lunch. Busy Saturday and warned could take half hour, reasonable for such a busy time. Food arrived and was perfect, service was not rushed despite being busy and a lovely lot of dogs for us to pat!

Moved to Suffolk early this year, and have eaten out at many places. Yesterday eat at Edmundo for the first time and the food was amazing, service was really good and price very reasonable, was really impression and it won' be long before we return back to Edmundo. Bravo to the Chef excellently cooked food. Only complain would be the lighting,, other than that it was a perfect place to eat and drink. Keep up the good work

Only stopped by for a couple of drinks but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Big place, has an upstairs as well.

Take a close look at the photo of my pulled brisket dish and you will see the large metal bolt which was in it. The manager was apologetic and promised their head office would be in touch. They haven't been, so here's the result; a negative review just warning others that they must have some sort of serious issue for random bolts to be appearing in cooked dishes. Add to this that it took about 20 minutes for an expensive, flat pint of beer to arrive at the table and overall I found the experience sub par. It's a shame as I'd previously had a couple of nice visits.

Caffe and lounge in Bury St Edmund with great seating inside and some chairs outside. Food was ok but service was questionable. We chose an outside table that was full of previous customers leftovers. Can you believe that when the waitress arrived with our food she didn't remove those leftovers?

Food took almost an hour, squid and chicken wings from tapas were very very dry. Other people ordering after us seemed to get served a lot quicker Won’t be coming again

Just stopped at edmundo lounge for breakfast on route to Cromer excellent service and food gluten free veg breakfast very good and tasty full English very good as well as good coffee will be back 😄

Edmundo Lounge is such a great place to go. The food is always delicious and the staff are always kind and attentive.

Vegan menu available but I only had carrot cake which was nice so can't comment on the food. On the late Sunday afternoon , not all food was available from the menu. Think this is a national chain. Dog friendly. Mx

Wonderful restaurant; the only criticism would be the pitchers of cocktails are full of Ice! ... I spent 24 pounds on a big load of ICE and just 3 glasses of cocktail! Otherwise the food is very good the staff are helpful and the atmosphere is very happy, busy and cosmopolitan.

Big fan of the lounges particularly the one in Harbourne Birmingham. Edmundo Lounge has a great atmosphere, welcoming and friendly staff and a good Menu for drinks and food. Only let down was a lot of items were missing off the menu on this occasion.

Came with my son, his wife, and 3 grandchildren. Excellent large table for seven. Colouring for the children. Good food selection. Good service. Excellent food! Lovely cheeseburger for me! Clean plates all round!

Lovely food and a great menu to choose from. Atmosphere is great and overall I would visit again.

Upon arrival there were a few dogs continually barking at each other with very little interest in controlling them, this then set ours off.. we picked him up to stop him barking and was told to put him down on the floor by rude waitress. We each had the poached eggs, although I'm sure we had been served hard boiled.. Didn't bother returning them as at this point just wanted to leave ASAP. If you want a truly dog friendly experience in Bury go to Gastrono-me!

Lots of options. Most of staff were friendly and helpful. It was quite busy so we ordered with the app drinks came after 20 minutes and food took around 40 minutes to arrive despite the wait the food was enjoyable and good value.

Honestly - My favorite place to go in all of Bury. I've visited this place for many years now, and I'd go every day if I had time. Such a warming, cozy and friendly atmosphere with unique interior, and dog friendly which is always a bonus! The food and drinks are amazing and great quality - plenty of vegan / vegetarian options too. They're always considerate when it comes to allergies also, and you can order via their website if like me, you're too socially awkward to go to the bar. I recommend their Sunday quiz nights too - always great fun whether you know anything or not. What really is the 'cherry on top' for Edmundo, is the staff. They're kind, friendly, and always do their best to help. I look forward to visiting again and again!

A busy, bustling, quirky restaurant in the heart of Bury. Order at the bar or via the app, substantial menu with huge burgers, sandwiches meze boards (good for sharing). Generous portions at a very reasonable price, very friendly staff and had a great first visit! Highly recommended.

Last week, my partner and I went for a lunch. Ordered 2 different burgers and both of them were burnt, dry and also cold. We have filled out feedback form as requested by Edmundo Lounge but no answer from them. The place looks nice inside, didn't have any issue with the staff but won't be coming back in for cold and overpriced food.

My absolute favourite place to go to eat and drink! I go here for breakfast most weekends because I just love their food! I also go there for dinner and drinks too! Highly recommend especially if you can’t decide what you want to eat they have such a big selection of Options
