Had lunch with a friend having been recommended to this restaurant- lovely friendly staff and quaint old building and very nice lunch

Took 1 hour 20 minutes for really bland and awful food to come. Went with a group of six friends for dinner. I ordered the Burger and my friends the curry. Been dining for for over 40 years and this is the worst I and my friends have experienced. Such a shame since the place looks nice.

A couple of weeks ago I had a tasty lunch. I had the Jet lounge croissant royal which they kindly served on toast instead of the croissant. 9/10 (would have been 10/10 if the plate had been hot!) I also had a fruit scone but found it a bit too sweet which was a shame. Over all it was a good lunch.

A very warm welcome on a coffee morning. Delicious homemade cakes and lots of good chat. Thank you ladies.

Visited with my elderly grandparents for lunch. Food was lovely, generous portions. Food took a little while to arrive but we were catching up so it was fine. Only criticisms was that the building was freezinggg and the waitress who served was really quite rude at times. I completely understand that we all have off days sometimes but I was cringing at points and it kind of spoiled the overall experience :(

We booked into an evening where the excellent food, cooked and created by Lawrence, was paired to the incredible wines of Nethergate - via the Eatons. What an incredible experience. We were taken through a range of different wines all paired with Lawrence's simply brilliant skills as a Chef. Each course was well thought through - wine with the food. We were given a commentary as to why each wine was paired with each course. Honestly? You simply have to go to experience this uniquely created and delicious food complimented by the wines chosen. An evening never to forget. I have come home buzzing. Looking forward to the next ones and trying some of the amazing wines with some of Lawrence's beautiful, tasty creations. The food was served with panache and I am trying to find something to criticize so it is a well balanced review. Book me in for the next one, please and looking forward to trying some of Lawrence and Laura's handpicked cheeses with the Wines of Nethergate chosen by the Eatons. Lovely company but the food and wine were incredible. A lifetime bucket list for anyone who wants to experience the synergy of wine with food, with the explanation as to why it matched the food so well. Thank you. All well priced, too. Michael and Sheila have gone although the new "lady of the house" is actually Sheilas daughter. I appreciated we are in troubled times with a lot of pubs cutting back but a very limited menu will not impress previous customers, although the fish couldn't have been fresher. A big no is the owners children having the run of the pub, just imagine "grumpy" Michaels comments!!!.

Accommodated us at very short notice, very friendly staff and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The portion sizes were exceptional and at affordable prices too, would thoroughly recommend a visit here. We will definitely be returning soon!

This place is amazing. I had a cappuccino and bacon, sausage, egg and chips. My wife had a veggie breakfast with complementary toast and a cup of tea. Total £16.10. Tasty food, great service, fantastic value 🙏🏻

A very friendly and relaxed atmosphere in Marimba cafe, with excellent service from the most friendly and professional staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Home made cakes and a huge variety of proper coffee and exotic hot chocolates to choose from. The wonderful girls who work in Marimba soon get to know you by name and everybody is made most welcome. I highly recommend!

Nice peaceful place to have a coffee or milkshake and a toastie and read the paper - nice books to browse or buy whilst you are waiting

Very enjoyable lunch. Delicious sharing starter of cheese and onion bread. Burger main and Strak and Ale Pie also very good, obviously made in-house. Friendly efficient service. Would definitely recommend

I've only put 3 🌟 on the atmosphere as it's always quiet when we go (very close to closing) but no complaints, staff always polite and food good, and portions are ample. They also do all-day breakfasts👍
