Always a pleasure to sit outside this friendly cafe, drinking excellent coffee in the beautiful village of Boxford.

Nice peaceful place to have a coffee or milkshake and a toastie and read the paper - nice books to browse or buy whilst you are waiting

We paid a visit a year ago from the USA (my apologies for the late review). We had a wonderful time, the food was excellent and the host's just the best. Please pay a visit and enjoy their hospitality, you will not be disappointed.

This pub offers a friendly pub atmosphere! Great local pub. The landlord is fantastic and very welcoming! Great drinks, open mic nights, and other themes.

This charming farm area is perfect for families to enjoy seeing the farm animals on display. There is a beautiful outdoor space for picnics and playground climbing equipment for young children to play on. Additionally, the shops offer a wonderful variety of items, including food and cuddly toys suitable for young children and even adults.

Sunday lunch was great. Huge plate of tasty roast beef , veg and Yorkshire pud. Wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks ( kambutcha included) available. As we were at a table for two we were crammed into a walk way, but the service and food made up for it.

It amazes me how this bar has a decent rating, well, they must be from friends of the bar. The bar is only open part time, and why is that? Because the only people it attracts is the local druggies and lowlifes. You won’t find anyone with any kind of standards drinking here, and trust me, you’ll be surrounded by 16 to 25 year olds. It seems the Ark is happy with this clientele, as the majority of Brantham know it’s known for this kind of thing. This “bar” is a failing business and will continue to be, unless it actually makes the effort with attracting the right customers who will make others comfortable drinking there. This bar is bad news and I would avoid. I have lived in the village for a long time and it’s such a shame, but you hear all kinds of rumours about it. Every time I drive past it seems it’s never open. If you prefer somewhere a little more classy then try the Brantham bull. The Brantham bull makes effort to provide a service for the elderly and actually wants to succeed.

Really fantastic food and good and attentive service but severely let down by the room being so cold on a very cold March day. Customers were coming into the dining area in heavy coats, scarves and hats and keeping them on as it would have been uncomfortable to take them off. There was a fireplace in the room but at no stage was it lit and staff seemed unaware of how cold customers sitting at tables were. We overheard one man at the bar asking if there was anywhere warmer to sit as he was cold.....but no steps were taken to make conditions warm and welcoming for diners. Despite the food being so good, it didn't make you feel like rushing back, certainly not during the winter months. What a pity as we drove quite a distance to have lunch at The Greyhound based on a recommendation.

Attempted to have an early drink, followed by lunch. Their website says open from 10am Saturday. Same start time on board outside pub. We arrived at 11.40....closed. No sign of opening. Phoned number on the board outside...unobtainable. Found phone number on their website, no answer. 11.50 gave up and walked down the hill into town and had an excellent lunch.

My wife and I were gifted with a voucher for dinner and accommodation and we chose to stay at the Crown, Stoke by Nayland. We loved the relaxing atmosphere of the bar and dining area and our meal was excellent. The staff were also professional, attentive and very friendly which only added to the experience. We also loved the accommodation which was finished to a high standard. We would definitely recommend a stay and we hope to be returning. Keith & Maria
