A delightful post lockdown trip to view at Mander auctions followed by a random stop at Coffee Box. Welcomed and served a wonderful breakfast with super coffee and juices. Topped off with a box of delicious cakes to enjoy at home. A really welcome post lockdown treat. Thank you ladies.

This is now called Marmelade. The staff looks the same and it was very popular during Boxford Open Gardens.

This is a wonderful independent coffee shop in small Suffolk village that we found ourselves walking past at the right time of the day. This was a real find. The shop is light and airy, looks attractive from the outside and is clean, tidy and well decorated within. Two friendly cheerful ladies were serving and made us welcome whilst engaging with others who were clearly known locals. There was a limited (not a criticism) of wonderful cakes (presumably home-made – we didn’t think to ask) from which we were eventually able to make a choice. They all looked good The cakes were wonderful, the coffee lovely and served nice and hot. Prices were reasonable. In the past we have chosen to start a walk in this location, not returning until later in the day. The temptation will now be to start elsewhere in the future so as to be passing by at coffee time. I’m relatively certain this is going to happen.

We drove a few miles to Boxford, walked past the Cafe and it looked warm and inviting. Having walked just around the Village and popped into the church briefly, we said, right now for a welcome cup of tea! Went across the road, just 3.08pm, all blinds down, shut! With the two pubs now shut, does Boxford want any business?

How nice to find an independent coffee shop that outdoes the likes of Starbucks and Costa. Superb coffee - especially good decaf from bean. Great friendly staff. Lovely food. All in an "off the beaten" track village - who would have thought.

Perfection can certainly turn up in the strangest of places , what more can I say than perfect, coffee and food is absolutely delightful, the general layout of the coffeebox is charming in the traditional Suffolk style “shabby chic” with a twist , the cake selection is to die for delicious is an understatement, coffee is rich and full bodied and not watered down vomit , service from the staff is more than a ten out of ten . Well done coffeebox you are a credit to the county Best Regards The Rt Hon. Nicholas A B Poulson

Really quaint little coffee shop in the centre of the village of Boxford. We stayed in Boxford for a few days and went back twice for the delicious homemade cake, also the homemade quiche which was superb, the only thing I would say is that the portion size is very small for the price paid but nevertheless it was very tasty

A welcome coffee stop in the lovely village of Boxford. A good number of indoor seats as well as a few outside, the cafe is nicely decorated with several historic and modern pictures on the walls. Friendly staff, and a good selection of drinks and cakes etc. available. Our drinks were good, coffees were £2.50 each, a pleasant stopover.

I have been in here a few times now and I always hope it’s going to get better but I always leave disappointed! My most recent visit consisted of lukewarm sour tasting coffee which now has also been put up in price!! Not coming back!!

The warmest welcome on a very cold morning. Excellent location, charming interior, clean and airy. Lovely coffee and cakes. I recently had a bacon bap and found it as good as I’ve had. In my opinion this is probably the best in the area.

We found this place when we were House hunting about a year ago. It offers good coffee and great hot chocolate and a varied selection of savoury and sweet food. We now live a couple of miles out of Boxford and have to resist the lure of the Coffee Box, otherwise the pounds would pile on. Maybe when the weather improves we can cycle down, have coffee and cake and cycle back, mainly uphill, burning off the calories. Except we now have electric bikes and get a boost up the hills. Another, better, excuse is needed. If you are driving on the A1071 from Sudbury to Hadleigh and need a brew then you must pull into the Boxford turning. The Coffee Box is just the other side of the church.

I am a resident of Boxford and not really a coffee or tea drinker so am probably not the best customer here! However, it is a fantastic business run by a great team and well worth making the effort to pop by. It has made a huge difference to the village.

We frequently holiday in Edwardstone, just up the road from Boxford and always make a point of walking down to Boxford to visit this lovely, family run cafe. We have visited so many villages that are in decline, shops closed and no where to buy a snack or warm drink, it is an absolute delight to find this gem. All the staff are welcoming and the food delicious. The coffee is really good and everything is made freshly. We never visit without striking up a conversation with someone, like visiting old friends.

Nice little cafe with friendly staff, perfect for a light lunch or coffee break. We had paninis which come with a decent sized side salad, coleslaw and a few crisps. All very tasty and satisfying for a lunch. Coffee was good as was the tea, which came as a tea bag with hot water, great for me because I hate over brewed/ stewed tea, so you can decide how long to brew it. Nice location too overlooking some charming buildings along the main road.

I've been to the Bell under previous management and it was superb, catered for my gluten intolerant Mum brilliantly, staff wonderful & food exceptional. So I had no hesitation on returning....what a mistake that was. We booked a table in the bar in advance. 1. No table in bar, blamed previous employee, no effort made to resolve. 2. Ordered 2 pints of Nethergate but barman began pulling the wrong beer & had to be educated by us. 3. Sparse selection of GF on menu, when previously there had been so much. In particular the beer battered fish is no longer gf 4. Ordered 1 starter & 3 mains (inc 2 x sirloin steaks). Mains arrived with no sign of starter & told the steak was rib eye not sirloin. 5. I was still offered the starter & when I wanted it removed was told I could have it for no charge but who wants the starter after their main (ridiculous). 6. We left at this point with no goodwill gesture offered 7. Just to add insult to injury, my 78yr old Mum used the loo on the way out to find no toilet paper. I'm not in the habit of leaving bad reviews but as the Bell have DELETED my Mums post on their Facebook page, I felt this was important for others to know. If you are GF, Veg or Vegan I would avoid like the plague & if not be wary. We hope they sort it out but notice several other recent reviews mirror our experience, so this wasn't just an 'off day'.
