Just visited to install a new card machine for the new owners. The place is a real bakery and smells great. A massive selection of cakes, pastries and bread. The new owners informed me that there will be some refurb going on soon but I will be back. Great friendly staff.

Myself and a friend had lunch here eventually. We were told to take a seat. Where we then waited for 20 minutes for someone to actually come and ask us what we wanted. Once we ordered 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches so nothing very taxing to make. We got the coffees. Mediocre coffee at best. We then preceded to wait another 45 minutes for our food. The people at the table next to us who arrived half an hour after us got their food before us and they had full English breakfasts. When our food did arrive the waitress just held it out to us. Didn’t speak. Didn’t place the food on the table. No social interaction what so ever. The food itself was ok. Nothing special. I wouldn’t bother going here again. I also wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Overall the whole experience was less than satisfactory.

Disappointing. The place was grubby. Walking up the stairs to the restaurant I should have turned around and walked out. The staff were great but the food was pedestrian and the coffee was appalling

Out of all the lovely small coffee shops in Sudbury we unfortunately decided to try this one being one of the newer ones and an established bakers . Thankfully we decided to share a cheese scone and also ordered a large cappuccino and a small one , as we sat at the table in the window , I noticed how scruffy the place looked and lots of crumbs and flaky pastry all around the floor under our table . Our order came very quickly and I was shocked to see a very large , pale , sad looking excuse of a scone , not very appealing , then we tried it , absolutely no flavour and very dry , we then tried the cappuccinos which had no coffee flavour at all , more like warm milk . We decided not to stay and left the uneaten scone and half drunk coffees and paid £10.00 for this sad offering 😕 I had to query the price as amazed but yes it was correct , £3.50 for the scone , £3.50 large coffee and £3.00 for the small one absolutely Shocking! So we won’t be visiting here again instead we will be using some of the smaller lovely coffee shops which we know can to do both !

I visited Weston's in Sudbury for the 1st time and was shocked by the price and quality of the food I had a bacon roll at a cost of £4.50 and it was very poor bacon tasted as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp and only 1 and a bit rasher in the roll to add . Coffee tasted bitter and for £3.00 was expensive I did enquire regarding the cost of a Belgian bun but that doubled if you ate in !! So not for me bad experience I am afraid so will carry on using Toast and Costa better quality

Not necessarily the prettiest café to sit in, but the food is amazing and their bread is honestly my favourite I've had - tastes so home-made. Would definitely recommend. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

During this corona virus issue. WESTONS has been amazing baking bread for people supplying eggs flour milk and much needed basic foods. Other local stores have NOT been as helpful 10 out of 10

I often visit to eat in and take away.Good quality food. Love the all day breakfasts and American pancakes. When they had run out of bananas for my pancakes someone went and bought them. That's top service! Baked good always really fresh.

We ate here twice in August while holidaying in Sudbury. Both visits we were warmly welcomed & the four of us had breakfasts which were served quickly & very tasty! I would definitely recommend eating here if you are in the area & picking up a load for home while you are there

A little bit of wonderful peace and quiet in a very modern world. The best of breads and super Belgian buns with a very polite cheerful staff. Just a good place to be in.

Was visiting family in Suffolk and my daughter directed us to this lovely little bakery in Gaol Lane. It does loads of stuff all under one roof, bread, cakes, pastries, coffee's, light meals and really does pull it all off. There were four of us and we each had the five portion breakfast, a tea and three coffees. The waiter was quick off the mark and had taken our order in just a couple of minutes of us being seated. The food took around 10 minutes to be served and it was plentiful, hot and fresh. The bill came in at £29.20 which was very good and we will definetely go back when we next visit. Staff were all friendly and eager to help, only down side for Trish was there was no vegan milk option available.

An old fashioned, friendly family-run business, where you will find freshly baked on the premises - bread, rolls and CAKES. Oh, the cake are gorgeous. What to choose - the meringues, the fruit cakes.... stop for coffee, or breakfast and read the papers. Guess what - well-behaved dogs are welcome, and why not.

This very popular bakers often run out of rolls by lunchtime so go early. They offer freshly baked bread/rolls and pastries every day and is well worth a visit. You can eat in and there is a limited menu. The only negative is the bacon is quite fatty so if you are looking for a healthy option you may want to choose something else. Staff are friendly and very polite

Went with my brother to try this place. Well what a pukka breakfast served with real friendliness and enthusiasm to please. Great value too with 5 or 8 item choice but some items like bacon, black pudding and others being two rashers/slices per item. Fried bread excellent with no oil and all items exceptional. To cap it off they will provide scrumptious crusty bread and butter baked on the premises. A must try!! All cakes and other goodies look fantastic too and so many choices other than dry ups.

Had the best full English breakfast I have ever had last Saturday. The ingredients were top quality and the value for money was outstanding but what really made it extra special was the staff. So friendly and a great advert for the bakery. Will definitely be back.

We live in Hampshire but were holidaying last Spring near Sudbury and discovered this bakery. We had coffees and goodies there as well as buying our bread and lunch snacks, This October we returned to the area and speedily made our way to Weston's to enjoy all those good things again!

I had spectacular high hopes for this little restaurant on the promenade with the most beautiful setting in North Norfolk. Then I arrived… they call themselves Whitewater … I assume from the dirty waves connecting with sand that gives a slight remembrance to a whitish colour…. I had read a lot of in house things from this ‘restaurant’ through their sister partnership with the Grove…but after a few weeks of research and seeing how they are trying to make arguably a very expensive setting count … I can only come to one conclusion: Most foul coffee… wasn’t even from a proper machine……I chose a pizza… I fancied the OG.. I was extremely intrigued to know what the OG stood for but unfortunately, the waitress didn’t seem to know what I was even on about …. I asked for a soft drink … it came as a warm can of Diet Coke from a plastic glass… as I took my place at the front of what should’ve been the best view was obscured by poor steamed up glass from a kitchen built so close to customers….. after 45 minutes of asking where my pizza was it finally arrived in the absolute only state I would class as charcoal…. Burnt to a crisp… I watched no one make fresh dough… it was obviously frozen…. Absolutely no care or attention prevailed such a worthy product … quite frankly the worse pizza in North Norfolk… if only the view was as gracious as the diabolical food… told the waitress … she argued that ‘most people like the food’ … not even these owners can count on this catastrophic encounter of dreadful over cooked and underwhelming food…. If you can’t provide a proper coffee machine why on earth would you believe you could provide great food…. I’ve most certainly will not be recommending or visiting this venue anytime in the future…. This is one place to quickly scratch off the list… and quick!

Some Costa coffee shops have poorly trained staff, awful hygiene standards, inexcusable bad coffee making and dirty. But Sudbury town centre Costa delivers better standards and all but one staff member can make a decent flat white.
