Willow Tree Farm Cafe in Babergh

Anyone that knows me knows I am a devotee of the Willow Tree, as most Fridays you will find me there for my lunch. The thing that was truly exceptional on this occasion was the desert. There can't be anyone left on the planet that has not had an "Eaton Mess", so tune in to my surprise when I saw on the menu "Eaton Tidy". Yes, of course I had to try it, and what a fantastic surprise when it arrived. The kitchen excelled its self. It was far in excess of anything I perceived and like most of lives true delights, almost beyond description. Yes it owes its origin to the "Eaton Mess" but there the similarity ends. It was a work of pure delight. Do yourself a big favour and like me, be one of the first to try this trailblazer, and you can write your own review if you can find any superlatives left to use in your description. I even think the name it has been given is such a clever twist.

I dropped in for lunch during a bike run. Polite, friendly service and a nice table outside. Lots of gluten-free options and the staff if you are Coeliac. My lunch was very tasty and prompt service. Highly recommended.

Came with my husband and a friend and once again lunch was excellent. We all had the "small" fish and chips.....it was more than enough and so tasty. For dessert two of us had the espresso coffee ice shop - gorgeous! My husband has the bakewell tart with a scoop of ice cream -lovely! Service was brilliant and the cafe is warm and inviting.

I’ve just returned from a perfect Sunday lunch with my Mum and Dad at Willow Tree Farm Cafe. We each had a different roast, all were perfect, and the service and selection of cakes, ice creams and drinks to accompany them were excellent. I’m from Liverpool, but my parents had found this place a few weeks ago and have been back three times since having breakfast, fish and chips and a Sunday roast so were keen to show me and it didn’t disappoint. Thoroughly recommended.

Went there with 3 friends for lunch. Had a wonderful beef sandwich. Another had a ham sandwich and the other 2 had open smoked salmon sandwich. Very friendly and helpful staff, would highly recommend.

Staying nearby in a hotel without breakfast we found this cafe which had good reviews and thought we'd try it - Glad we did as the food was really wonderful - smoked salmon and scrambled egg, kippers from the excellent Pinneys were helped by wonderful poached eggs, Eggs Royale also wend down well, with strong coffee - all in a clean and efficient place - enough staff to keep everything ticking over - they even seemed to be well-trained as well as polite! Really good start to our day of travelling home...

good service, good choice, tasty brunch and local produce being the crab [local as crabs get clean and friendly and next to a well stocked farm shop although a similar to the 100s of farm shops about. gets busy

Thank you to one and all at the Willow Tree Farm cafe. They managed to accommodate us for a family for 4 breakfast on a Sunday, even though we arrived at 10.56am, just before the breakfast serving 11am deadline. It was a spontaneous breakfast visit for us. We all had the main breakfast dish and it made an enjoyable start to what was a "gloomy" rainy Sunday in April.

10 out of 10! We went as a family including a 2 year old for breakfast. Spoilt for choice, well cooked and presented. Everything spotlessly clean including the toilets. Really nice ambience and friendly service. We will be back!

Came for an impromptu Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. The family usually say that Sunday lunch out doesn't compare with my home cooked efforts, but this meal certainly did. It all felt freshly cooked, (rather than hanging around for an age under a heat lamp), there was a good choice of meat and excellend sides. The food was piping hot and I could have eaten a vat full of the sauce that went with the belly of pork. Would highly recommend if you want a break from cooking your own SundY roadt and we'll definitly be back

Like me, you are probably sceptical about any reviews that someone has posted but honestly, I went into the Willow Tree after returning home from a holiday and was so delighted to be back at my regular area for my Friday lunch. As soon as my wife and I were seated our table manager whispered in my ear whilst giving me the menu of the day, "We have Mussels today". I'm sorry to say......I made an absolute pig of myself. The mussels were an absolute delight and I noticed a table when I had finished that two customers were seated also eating mussels. Could it be the delightful smell of mine had induced them to order also? My lunch time break was a sheer delight. Well done the kitchen at the Willow Tree.

Lovely breakfast this morning. Great staff, clean cafe. Menu has everything you could need and the food is delicious. We had eggs Benedict which came as two muffins covered in ham, two beautifully poached eggs and perfect amount of sauce. A friend had a bacon sandwich on white bread. The bread was fresh, soft and thick with plenty of bacon I chose to take away a cheese scone because they look so inviting Highly recommend, for any combination of food and drinks

I am no stranger to "Willowtree" but they still always manage to conjour up more supprises for me at the table. I must just recount three instances that show the "Table Managers" attention. I am rather fond of sea food and on one yrip in the not so distant past Iwas seated at the table when a table manager came to me zand presented me with a portion of jellied ells. What an absolute ddelight. Then on another occasion I had ordered my normal meal when the table manager noticed I had not noticed the Mussels on the menu and changed my order with my consent to include an extra dish of mussels as a starter. Then much more recently "Crayfish" were on the menu and I had never tasted Crayfish so the table manager brought me a small pot of Crayfish to try for taste. I hope this shows just how attentive and professional the staff are at "The Willowtree" Make a booking yourself, you won't be disappointed.

We visited whilst vacationing in the area. On arrival we were greeted by a warm and friendly lady who showed us to a table. We arrived for breakfast and the menu was comprehensive and innovative. Could quite easily have chosen six or seven items however plumped for the smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, sourdough toast and the eggs Benedict which did not disappoint. Well presented and delicious taste having been freshly cooked with high quality ingredients. Exemplary service throughout including check back as overseen by an exceptional front of house manager. Wish we lived locally as would visit more frequently especially as there is a superb farm shop on site.

We called by this cafe on impulse without booking but, thankfully, we were able to get a table and were very impressed with the building which is a bright, airy and immaculately clean space. The food was very high quality, was beautifully presented and service by the friendly and professional staff was excellent. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

We all love a well cooked Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed this week, having eaten a beautifully served roast at this hidden away little gem in Suffolk. Our table had the beef, pork and lamb, all served with our own individual little dishes of horseradish, apple or mint sauce The vegetables and roast potatoes were served with the meat, (excellent gravy ) we also had the cauliflower cheese as an extra side, followed by some delicious puddings. We all really enjoyed our meal and look forward to visiting again.

Firstly, I have to be open and say that I would regard myself as a regular at Willow Tree. Christmas and the New Year over and dusted, we returned to our comforting, regular as clockwork, routine. Willow Tree is rather like the blankets on your bed. I looked around the café to ensure that nothing too drastic had taken place apart from the removal of the festive decorations, and settled back to be served my regular "Fish and Chips". At this point the Table Manager (Fiona) pointed out to me the inclusion on the menu, Mussels, I am not easily shaken from my normal order because I'm a creature of habit so after thinking it through for two seconds I amended my order to Mussels as a starter and then the Fish and Chips followed by Rub barb and Apple with clotted cream. The whole meal and the staff (Including the kitchen) were like a massive welcome back following the Christmas break. Thank you "Willow Tree".

I was without doubt the first person to try their Christmas pudding because it was a day before the menu was officialy released. I can say without fear of contridiction, "it was the nicest, lightest and most pleasing Christmas pudding I have had for a very long time. It was so fruity. That all Christmas puddings should be as nice. What a start to Christmas 2023

Like opening a Christmas present and finding exactly what you want and still more that you didn't know you wanted. If you haven't tried the Willow Tree, then do yourself a great favour and try it before the Christmas rush. Honestly, I can't recommend this place more highly than I do.

Such a lovely welcome by all the staff had not booked but they soon found us a table .Delicious fish and chips and had a small potion.

Discovered this gem last week and have already been back. Arrived both times just before 11, they were just wrapping up breakfast, but they couldn't have been more accommodating. The breakfast was fresh, delicious, generous and beautifully presented. It certainly gave no hint of being the end of breakfast service. They use local ingredients and the quality is undeniable. Hats off to their chef. Coffee and hot chocolate also delicious. Attentive service and very well staffed with waitstaff who are always looking out if anyone needs something, which really makes a difference to the overall experience. The sandwich diplay cabinet also looks fantastic for a lunch trip. So all in all we will be making this place a regular haunt.

This is such a lovely cafe, using local produce and making delicious food. We went for their first pizza evening and it did not disappoint at all. The pizzas were delicious and the staff were attentive and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for food, drinks and a great atmosphere anytime of day. The farm shop also stocks a great variety of local produce and other gift items.

I met my friend for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The venue is spacious and very clean with indoor and outside seating. Staff were friendly and efficient. I enjoyed Cromer crab salad, followed by a fruit scone with jam and clotted cream. My friend had sardines. The food was delicious.

Have been to the Willow Tree Farm Cafe a few times, for breakfast, brunch and a visit for tea and cake. Every-time all staff members are very warm and welcoming and food is always delicious. Cake portions are always very generous Really lovely atmosphere

I feel a Prince among Beggars because of the way my wife and I have just been spoil. I am not new to the Willow Tree but they still manage to surprise me with their very high standards. Recently they have had all their table managers and dinning room staff dressed in black giving you the feeling that you are truly in for an experience equal to a silver service restaurant. Lunch today was no exception! On the menu was "Cromer Crab" and the kitchen had managed to even serve the crab with finesse by serving it in its upper body shell keeping the meat and softer bits of the crab separate. The quality of todays lunch was just outstanding, even more so than on previous visits. Maybe not a Prince amongst Beggars because the guests at Willow Tree are all such nice people but certainly I felt spoilt as you can tell, I hope, from this review.

Great place. Clean. Lovely atmosphere. Professional attentive staff. First time visit but won't be our last. Farm was cute too. Didn't visit the farms hope but maybe next time. Free parking and not far from car to cafe if you are a little unsteady on your feet. You won't be disappointed. Prices in line with most cafes. Loved my coffee and cake and my daughter loved her peach tea.
