Popped in on 20/5/2024 with three friends. We all had something different. All lunches were delicious and freshly made. The bacon and cheese quiche was fab with thin crispy pastry. A triumph!!

Lovely homemade food, nice staff and great value!

My mother and I visited Sudbury today for the first time and had lunch here. The service was fantastic. Both members of staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious!! I had the Brie, Bacon and onion quiche and my mum had the brie and red onion chutney panini with two coffees . We then fished with the coffee cake which was very nice too. The atmosphere was lovely, especially when they had an elderly lady come in (which is obviously a regular) who they treated like a member of there own family! The food was fairly priced too. I would defiantly return.

Delightful coffee shop. We had tea, coffee, a toasted teacake and a scone. The cakes were home made and delicious. The prices were very reasonable. If we lived here, I would definitely be a regular. Lovely staff.

Whenever we go to Sudbury we always visit this fabulous Coffee House. The Staff are so welcoming and friendly and the food is plentiful, delicious and very good value for money. It's all homemade and is sourced locally. There are also little personal added touches, which make it special. We would never go anywhere else!! Thank you ladies, see you soon 🤗

Visited yesterday for a light lunch not realising the cafe had changed hands. Had an excellent ham and cheese panini with quality, home cooked ham. All served efficiently with a smile. As I left I saw a range of cakes and home made pastries which looked delicious. Other customers nearby had a home made sweet potato soup which looked tasty. Wishing the new owners all the best. So lovely to have an independent offering in Sudbury.

Really impressed with the new look "Gainsborough Coffee House", new Owners in 2022 and a lovely, relaxing place to have a quick refreshment whilst visiting the delightful Sudbury. Well done Kay & Grace and all the best with your exciting adventure, the Coffee ( Butterworth's of Bury), is a cut above any other offered in Town and the cakes and savouries are freshly cooked & served at your table or as a take away.

Lovely coffee shop with Lovely Cakes. I had a flat white coffee and the Excellent Lemon and Blueberry Cake - it was superb!!!!

Called in for lunch and the sandwiches we ordered were absolutely lovely. Made to order with a good selection of fillings, and also good coffee and tea. The staff were very nice And although there is limited seating due to Covid we would definitely recommend.

Highly recommend this little cafe. Food was hot, lovely and very reasonably priced, the cafe was clean and homely with little flowers on each table, the atmosphere was welcoming and calm, and the staff were warm and friendly (I could hear that they'd made an effort to get to know all of their customers).

A great little coffee shop with delicious freshly made sandwiches and very friendly staff. The are plenty of tables to sit at and people watch and the place is super clean. I'd highly recommend this place if you're hungry. Much better than going to Gregs.

I had crispy bacon, stilton and mango chutney in a panini......hot gooey and lovley. A very nice coffee shop I'd definitely go again.

I live locally and there are an abundance of coffee shops in Sudbury and the surrounding villages of which most I have eaten in. I have been visiting the coffee house for some time and have never been disappointed in it service or food in any way! If like me you have a bit of a sweet tooth, the pastries and mouth watering display of cakes are a must try. There is a wide choice of fresh sandwich fillings, all fresh and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and engaging, making for a homely relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend dropping in for a coffee if you are passing and hungry, or just want to take the weight of your feet.

We were really impressed with this cafe. The greeting was friendly and the food and drink was high quality and good value. 5ere was a calm unrushed atmosphere. Newspapers provided add d a nice touch. Many thanks!

This is one of the nicest little coffee shops I've ever been too. I'm always very nervous in new places but the staff made me feel so welcome, they are so friendly and considerate. The cafe is spotless and comfortable, the menus clear to understand and everything is fresh and delicious. Such a lovely atmosphere, will one hundred per cent be visiting again next time I'm visiting.

Definitely the best in central Sudbury for take away lunches i.e. sandwiches; salads etc. They always have lovely fresh granary bread and a brilliant range of sandwich fillings. Just like a proper city sandwich shop! Lovely service; calm and clean cafe if you have time to linger. Very good value and always reliable.

I managed to visit this lovely little place one lunch time. Great selection of lunch option! I had one of the homemade sausage rolls which had a little drizzle of tomato chutney and a baguette. Lovely!

I have used this cafe many times to sit in but won't anymore. The ladies behind the counter are always cheerful and they really do have a nice selection of food and drink. However I won't be visiting anymore. I am happy with the usual hubbub of a cafe but more recently the place has attracted a loud mouthed group of male 'customers' who seem to think it is their personal domain. They talk at the top of their voices bellowing at each other (generally in the mornings) so much so other customers have difficulty in conducting a conversation - A shame, but I'm off to Costa Coffee where at least I can here myself think.

I often pop in for a light lunch when in Sudbury. Friendly service, good food and coffee. They will make up a salad or a sandwich to your requirements, and the helpings are generous and good value for money.

Coffee so good...and what a lovely place to sit for a quiet coffee. Very clean and tidy. I didn't have any food, but i will return for lunch as the food look so fresh.

I stopped in recently as my family explored the market. The Coffee House is a seemingly popular cafe which offers coffees, teas, jacket potatoes and sandwiches. The sandwich fillings on offer are extensive, and rival those of many "sandwich" specialty shops. The menu postings also offer hot soups, and some really yummy looking cakes were on display. The counter service was courteous and very professional. On the food front, I was particularly impressed with the scone I had, it was very light, tasty, and satisfying.

Visited a week ago as our regular haunt was busy. So glad we did. The coffee is very good. The sandwiches are made from really fresh bread and are generously filled. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Definitely will go back and as a previous reviewer said it may become our regular lunchtime haunt.

Been in a few times recently. Friendly service nice food at reasonable prices. Jacket potatoes and salads all very generous. And a nice cup of tea.

I am a self confessed coffee addict and I get my morning fix every day from The Coffee House. Any other Sudbury coffee addicts will know how many other cafes 'sell' good coffee when in fact it's not good. The Coffee House is not one of those places and the coffee really is excellent. The girls that run the cafe are lovely, service is excellent and the sandwiches are fresh, tasty and really generous. It's more than just a coffee shop too... there is a lovely community of regulars that are there most mornings - why not join them! Goes above and beyond any of the other local establishments masquerading as coffee shops, which is probably why they can get very busy at lunch time when other places are woefully quiet. How about that for a review - Jay Rayner eat your heart out!

Love this place, friendly welcoming service. Great place to come in to grab a bite to eat and good coffee. There are quite a few coffee shops now in Sudbury but this is the best by far. Highly Recommend it!

Brilliant little place to chat and eat the scrummy cakes and freshly made sandwiches, paninis and all sorts. Super friendly staff who are so helpful it is a refreshing change. I would highly recommend to all.

Really lovely cafe. Great food and (for a coffee snob like me) a great coffee. Lovely sandwiches and cakes. Lovely people. Great atmosphere and I especially like the pre-9.00am coffee crowd from lots of local businesses that meet up before work. It didn't take long to get chatting to them and feel like a regular.
