Short wait food for three served quickly. Cheerful chat from the staff. Usual fayre

First time visit to the Greyhound and was very impressed. From the warm welcome on arrival to the great value carvery which was simple but delicious - we couldn’t have asked for more. The meats were cooked beautifully and the selection of accompaniments were tasty and freshly topped up. Made a nice change from cooking at home and will definitely return!

Disappointed to say the least. Food was warm at the most, sons pizza flat bread was burnt all on one side and had had sauce and cheese put over the burnt bit so it wasn’t as noticeable till I moved the cheese when trying to cut it up. Glasses were dirty. Chicken on the bbq hunters style dish was tough and barely edible. No staff member around so left very dissatisfied!! Won’t be returning that’s for sure

Llevo viniendo aquí un buen par de años y siempre disfruto de un café con amigos después de nuestra ronda de golf. Durante este tiempo, ha habido una gran rotación de personal. Realmente decepcionado de ver más recientemente, sin embargo, que la joven que siempre nos saludó con una sonrisa amable y hizo el mejor café se ha ido a la universidad creo. Ahora se fue con personal muy joven y algunos más viejos pero no tan competentes Barista! Comida muy cara, pero generalmente bien. Bonito entorno y espacioso para reunirse con amigos.

Called in for breakfast this morning good food and service. Went in today just the two of us order breakfast at the bar, collected our drinks and within five minutes food arrived, all hot and fresh so very good for a spoons. Waitress came over to check everything was okay which it was, nothing else to say really good breakfast at a good price in a nice clean and friendly pub.

Had a delicious afternoon tea! Visited last week and enjoyed our afternoon tea. Not too busy and friendly table service. Have been before and had the same experience. Recommended.

So disappointed in our regular pub lately. Always cold and cleaning has deteriorated. Dirt and dust behind radiators and upstairs carpets. Food is hit and miss. Tables left with left over food.needs addressing. Cleanliness especially. Staff informed all hours are reduced no excuse for dirty surroundings. Only bonus a lovely cold fire. Please get our local back to standards

Moored up for the night and wandered in for a beer and a meal. Everything first rate, service, choice, quality & price. Not my first visit here and certainly won’t be my last.

We didn’t really eat here, apart from a tasty but small bowl of chips. The atmosphere is great, plenty of space, plenty of places to sit. Lots and lots of tv screens with all sport showing. Staff are very accommodating, turning tv stations over for guests to watch different matches. Floor service available and drinks/ food can be brought to your table. Giant screen which is brilliant to watch!

We frequently visit the Golden Lion for refreshments and occasional meals, and we are fortunate to have such an establishment so close to our residence. The refurbishment project has been a resounding success, with every expense meticulously allocated. The newly constructed conservatory offers breathtaking views of the coastline, while the staff consistently demonstrates exceptional friendliness, politeness, and meticulous attention to detail. The manager, whom I believe is named Giles, is always eager to engage in conversations and discuss the refurbishment’s progress.

A lovely and very well decorated restaurant with very poor customer service. All the standard duties of a restaurant just missed. Drinks were not offered through out our meal, no one around to ask for more drinks or to take our dishes when finished. Food was very average for the price. When we finally got someone’s attention and asked for dessert we thought we had been forgotten as the waiting time was far too long, they informed us that our ticket did not go through to the kitchen and gave us extra scoops of ice cream. Very unfortunate that a lack of customer service has let down a very beautiful setting.

Slow amateur poor service, avoid this overrated cafe. Woman behind the counter was a patronising bovine who had difficulty serving hot drinks. Passing over cake and cold food also seemed beyond her capabilities. Why do you have to wait for a sausage roll to be delivered to your table? Surely 3 seconds with tongs and a plate would manage that simple task?
