Chose to have the caesar salad & paid ÂŁ3.50 extra to have some slices of chicken. The salad was mainly lettuce and served in a bowl the size of a soup dish. If I hadn't had to pay when I ordered the food I would have refused to pay on leaving. ÂŁ16.25 for a bowl of salad with 3 strips of chicken. When it was brought to the table I asked about cutlery & the lad said you can get it over by the till where you paid. Great customer service. Won't be going again.

The sausages with mash, onions and gravy was excellent, piping hot and served on a hot plate. Thank you Robert, and the server Christeena for very polite and helpful service. Many thanks, Brian

We eventually got served but we waited and waited and nothing arrived, not even our drinks, despite one young waitress standing at the till doing nothing. There was a baby shower going on in a separate room and everyone's attention was on them, a young lad was concentrating on filling up jam and cream pots for their afternoon teas that were laid out on the counter and we didn't even have a cup of tea. A lady on another table went up to the counter to enquire about her food delay, it was then that we decided to leave - they didn't even notice! We went to the co op to buy our lunch instead and saw one of the waitresses from the tea room buying our bagels! she needn't have bothered and needless to say we won't go back (the sticky menus and dirty tables need to be addressed too)

It is a lovely coffee place. But in recent days I have experienced very impolite behaviour from one of the staff members. I paid for a Maple Hazelnut Latte and then asked if I could get it done using Soy milk. She was grumpy about it and said it doesnât state soy milk in the order she received on the screen. I told that I am happy to pay any extra. She was like next time you need to tell properly but this time itâs fine. People who work in customer service can be a lot more polite and customer friendly. Also what I donât understand is since I have already paid for Hazelnut milk a swap to soya shouldnât cost extra though I offered to pay any extra !

The staff at BBS Coffee Shop are genuinely welcoming and attentive. They make you feel at home from the moment you walk in, and theyâre quick to help with recommendations or adjustments to your order. Their friendliness and professionalism make for an enjoyable and relaxing visit every time. And excellent food

Like the Artic!! Freezing cold, no atmosphere. Tasteless sausage sandwich. Highly expensive. Pansies priced wrong, young lad on the till had no communication skills or personality. The so called manager was called,very scruffy & arrogant. Lost a sale due to staffs attitude. Don't visit & waste yr time!

Been to this Tea Room several times before. Had a pleasant snack and the service was excellent. We thought we would mention that when queuing to place the order, there is good vision of what is going on in the kitchen. Lots of man-handling of the food to put on plates and not one pair of tongs in site. Suggestion: either close-off the view to the prep area so customers can't see what's going on or invest in a few pairs of tongs for the kitchen staff! We shall still return but this did put us off a bit.

Travelled from Norwich for a spot of lunch and a mooch around the greenery. Although they stock some beautiful plants and gifts, the cafe was disappointing. With only cake and coffee available, no lunch, made more stressful as we had a very hungry toddler. One lady serving behind the counter who appeared confused with what she was doing at times. No option for a childrenâs hot chocolate. Even though this could have easily been catered to. Other staff members about but not offering help. Large que too but this didnât seem to bother the staff and create urgency. Be nice to see a simple lunch menu in future.

A lovely location for a tea room, sadly we were let down by the food. The scones were warmed up to hide the fact they were stale and the jam was a cheap jelly. My sonâs eggs were so under cooked the whites were still clear. My husband ordered a meat pie, we had to laugh as it was the smallest portion. Having said all that our waitress was lovely and very friendly. I donât think weâll be going back.

My wife and myself enjoyed a wonderful lunch, which was - in complete contrast to the previous negative comment - served by friendly, happy, smart staff. The food was hot, and perfectly cooked. The cafe was clean, and the price was extremely reasonable. This was our first visit to Freds Cafe, but certainly will not be our last - we were both highly impressed. (Maybe the writer of the previous negative comments - Aine - should maybe ponder if THEY were the problem? Certainly we found that the staff here could not have been more pleasant or welcoming. Thank you

Visited the cafe and hubby ordered a breakfast builder and I had 2 fried eggs and saute potatoes- the items on my hubby's breakfast were all at different temperatures- our eggs were a bit under cooked and the toast was nearly cold as was my coffee- it was not a pleasant meal and I did tell the cashier how I felt and was given 10% discount- would not eat here again however on a big plus side the sale price and quality of their plants was fantastic and although we spent a lot for our new build garden we got a huge number of plants and shrubs for our money đ

My experience here was quite disappointing. It took an unusually long time just to get my order taken, and when it finally arrived, it was wrong. I paid ÂŁ7.95 for a wrap, only to have the wrong item (Ciabatta) unceremoniously plopped on the table by a waitress who simply stomped off. I donât enjoy leaving negative feedback, but in this case, I feel itâs well justified due to the poor service I encountered from start to finish. Sadly, these issues arenât unique to my visit; they seem to reflect the experiences of many other reviewers.
