Harry's Coffee and Cakes in Tendring

My experience here was quite disappointing. It took an unusually long time just to get my order taken, and when it finally arrived, it was wrong. I paid £7.95 for a wrap, only to have the wrong item (Ciabatta) unceremoniously plopped on the table by a waitress who simply stomped off. I don’t enjoy leaving negative feedback, but in this case, I feel it’s well justified due to the poor service I encountered from start to finish. Sadly, these issues aren’t unique to my visit; they seem to reflect the experiences of many other reviewers.

Arrived about 3 ish and most of the seating area was closed off, a miserable looking member of staff told us they were only serving cakes and drinks. Couldn't see what cakes there were as light to fridge had been turned off so asked what they had and she reluctantly turned it on. She asked us if we could sit at the last empty table in the window which was filthy and cover in crumbs so went over to ask for cloth, she came over and wiped it but left it soaking wet. When she brought our milkshakes they were in plastic takeaway cups not the glass jars we'd had previously just pure laziness in my eyes, when our cakes arrived my victoria sponge had seen better days literally it was so dry it just crumbled and was impossible to eat. Wouldn't go back.The management/ Owners must read these reviews but don't seem to care about customer service one little bit...

This was a great spot for lunch and a nice treat the food was delicious and the staff were lovely me and my partner had a great time.

Stop serving hot food at 2.45 including toasted teacakes, despite not closing till 6pm. We were requested to sit outside as they wanted to clean and close the main seating area. Lots of disgruntled customers who asked about sandwiches and told they could only have cakes. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and went back the following Saturday, same reception and same request. Staff sweeping up around customers, and one member of staff biting their fingernails. By the way it isn’t Harry’s!

Asked for tea and coffee plus take away tea but didn't want that yet until I go, girl seemed confused so I said it again clearly and slowly. Sat there for 15 minutes, still nothing so went and asked. The guy said it was a bit confusing, I said but me and my son are sitting there. They looked at me like I was an idiot

Expensive for a tuna mayo and sweetcorn jacks spud and the order came out wrong no sweetcorn had red onion on it. read the order it wasn’t that u were that busy. could not be bothered to get it returned the guy severing was nice and friendly. the girl taking the order at the counter needs to smile and be friendly. And Diet Coke £2.50 plastic bottle. what really dose pee me is paying extra for Alternative milk not my fault it is all I can take.

Avoid the hot chocolate-terrible. Spoke to a waitress who said she would see if we could replace with an alternative drink. She never came back to us! Ordered a chicken salad wrap. Expensive and very average. Would not recommend this establishment.

Staff very nice, go in there about three times a week. Not going anymore went in on first Sunday in March and was turned away as they closed the main side and no tables were free when there were a whole load of spaces but weren't a allowed to use. I could understand if it was getting late but this was at 2.30 in the afternoon. Won't be using again when they are turning away custom.

My family and I have been visiting here since it first opened as Harry's. We have always enjoyed the food but yesterday two of us had sandwiches with brown bread. The bread was very dry making the sandwich hard to digest. It was a different bread to what they used to use, not very pleasant.

orderd the breakfast roll it came to the table with a hash brown the has brown was frozen in the middle i told the younge girl and she replaced it with another one i tryed that also frozen told the girl not to cook another she looked at me as if to say well its not our fault and walked away i just left the place and will not return

Why still called Harry’s on here I have no idea as it is now could Heavenly. needs a good paint up staff were ok friendly the iced latte was ok had better. £5.95 for a ham & cheese sandwiches more a toasty was nice. the salad make it think is a high end cafe make it a proper salad not a bought in. what really dose pee me is paying extra for Alternative milk

Ordered what was said on menu as a granary bread sandwch to be given wholemeal bread, when I stated I wasn't happy as I dont like wholemeal bread I was told that no one else had a problem with it , awful customer service no apology although I was offered an alternative which would have been white bread which I declined. .Was then told she would give a refund this time . Shocking I wont be returning due to awful attitude.

We visited this coffee shop with full expectations how could we be so wrong in thinking so!! What a disappointment. We visited with the family during our holiday stay at Clacton on sea, the staff were miserable unhelpful and had no personality for this job supposed to be making customers happy and not unhappy with there visit. We ordered coffees they took about twenty minutes or more to appear to the table our food arrived before the drinks, I ordered a granary bread chicken and Sweetcorn sandwich with Mayo, the bread was clearly and obviously stale!!! I complained to a member of staff she says she would let the chef know, when she came back she said that bread was from our suppliers and we don’t have any concerns with them I said well you should tell them that the bread that they are supplying to you isn’t fresh bread, I did get a refund but that was the principle of my annoyance as my mum also complained as she had the same bread and she also agreed that the bread was stale too!!! When the waiter served to her the sandwich part of the crust fell on the floor, which just goes to show you how stale the bread was!! She reluctantly ate the sandwich as we aren’t usually ones for complaining when she went to complain to another member of staff she disagreed with my mum and said no we aren’t giving you your money back knowing full well that she had just refunded mine due to the same reason and the same loaf of bread being used!! Absolutely terrible customer service the rest of the staff were ganging up with the member of staff at the counter to the customer which is totally wrong all bits of kids with no idea!! I will not recommend this coffee shop and will not be returning if visiting in the future!! Very very poor!!

Everywhere else was busy so begrudgingly we came in here - it's been poor service before ! All I can say is that they weren't busy and it took 20mins to get 2 coffess which were delivered to the wrong table first ! It's staffed by very young, inexperienced people so we didn't get an apology just an excuse ...won't be back !

Quiet day, no customers at counter, handful already seated. Over 10min wait for a tea and latte. Latte was luke warm. No smile from girl serving at counter, she was not welcoming at all. Young girl who bought out order was pleseant, although had spilt latte a little. This is 2nd visit and will be the last.

It wasn’t very busy today. Staff all miserable-looking with bored attitudes. Cakes were disgusting, so hard and stale as if they’d been out for weeks. An unpleasant experience and waste of money. Wish we’d gone to Costa.

I cannot understand how a business like this is able to survive, it used to be a favourite place to visit, (Harry`s Bar) the drinks, cakes and general food offered was so very nice and the staff were clean, tidy and friendly, it was so busy with customers meeting up for coffee and visiting the shopping village but not so today, the food is apalling and the drinks weak and insipid, it demonstrates just how badly a business can deteriorate in such a short space of time..

Went today with my mum made our order when they bought it the table I said to the waitress that tea pot is dirty, but she laughed on closer inspection the cups were dirt full of tea stains the milk jug has dirty brown marks and black things floating in it, I asked for them to be replaced but the replacement wasent any better when I complained again I was told we don't have any clean cups so they gave us dirty ones, no apology they didn't see what was wrong I asked for a refund which they gave, I will never go back

We used to love this place for its food, pleasant staff and comfortable surroundings, the food now is appalling, my "garnish" with sausage roll was five pieces of iceberg lettuce, brown at the edges and my cappuchino was cold (probably as it went into a cold cup), fortunately we did only order a coffee and snack this time and the place was deserted (I now understand why) such a shame, in an age where every customer has a voice, why would any retaurant behave in such a way, I suppose it survives as its a captive audience at the shopping village.

My sister and I visited the Clacton Factory Village and stopped here for coffee and cake. Good choice and excellent carrot cake. The place is very spacious and clean

Visited here today for lunch with a friend who seldom visits Clacton, don't think she will be rushing back. No notice to say order at counter so sat for ages awaiting a staff member, of which there were plenty, to notice...none did. Not advised of procedure. Went to counter eventually to order food. No apology for the misunderstanding. I ordered a tuna mayonnaise jacket which the menu says comes with a salad garnish, coleslaw, cucumber, sweetcorn and red onion. It arrived with a small pile of iceberg lettuce. When I questioned the lack of accompaniments I was told by probably the most apathetic staff member I have ever encountered that these 'extras' had to be requested! My friends ciabatta was cold and hard, almost inedible. Her salad garnish was also just a small pile of iceberg lettuce. We had to ask for the filthy table to be cleared and cleaned...difficult to believe in times of Covid, and again, the apathy with which this was done was palpable! Do these young women not realise that in this field of work they can double or triple their wages in gratuities just by being efficient and pleasant to their customers? I certainly won't be returning.

Now called ‘heavenly coffee and cakes’ ordered a decaf tea and hot chocolate, while waiting in the queue we noticed flies in one of the cake domes, so that put me off a cake 😬 my hot chocolate was luke warm and very weak, couldn’t taste any chocolate. Just needs reviewing for future

Not impressed. Harry's bar was nice but not this one. No notice to say you had to order at counter so we sat at the table being ignored by staff. When we did order tea, 2 cold drinks which we got ourselves from the cabinet, chicken wrap, two sausage rolls, one hot one cold (not a 3 course meal!!). After half an hour we were still waiting! Went in to see where it was. Eventually came out - only one sausage roll! When they both came out we unwrapped the cutlery - filthy knives. Complained again! With clean knife couldn't cut the sausage roll anyway! Hard and stale - complained again and did actually get refund but no question as to what was wrong and no real apology. Ill not be going there again.

Have eaten here half a dozen times in the last six months. On each occasion, the staff have been very pleasant and very efficient.The food has been excellent from the coffee and cakes through the sandwiches to the hot potato lunches. The food has been right on each visit.Will we eat here again .. absolutely we will. This is the go-to place for us if we are near or passing the Clacton shopping village.

I've never had a bad cake there. The only problem is, they are sometimes short staffed and the tables are full of dirty crockery and it takes awhile for them to clear it away. Otherwise most staff are friendly x

We've been going to Harry's Coffee and Cake since it reopened in the new site and eve when it was in the old retail park. It used to be really nice freshly prepared and cooked food which was served by helpful staff and in a clean restaurant. How disappointing it is now. Tables were not cleared and cleaned after the previous customers and the place didn't look very clean. We both had jacket potatoes which were certainly not freshly cooked. They were barely warm and the skins were hard and tough. I had tuna mayonnaise as a filling and I asked if I wanted sweetcorn or onion with it. I assumed that whichever I chose would be mixed with the tuna mayonnaise. How wrong was that! There were 6 slices of red onion placed alongside the potato. It also came with salad and coleslaw according to the menu. A blob of cheap, shop bought glutinous stuff and a couple of salad leaves with a blob of balsamic vinegar! Back in the early days the coleslaw was freshly prepared. We also saw other people's sandwiches and the bread looked like cheap sliced bread rather than from a fresh loaf. There seemed to be hardly any filling either. Have they changed ownership?You would have thought with the competition from Costa and Gregg's they would have bucked their ideas up. I'd rather give a local place my support compared to a large organisation. However I won't be back!

Have visited other Harry's Bars in this area and have always been satisfactory. Today my visit to Harry's Coffee & Cakes at Clacton Shopping Outlet was very disappointing. Slow service and unfriendly staff. Ordered sandwiches that menu states comes with salad. When sandwiches arrived there was no salad. We complained and was told by Manager that they had run out of salad. I would have thought that we should have been told and given an apology and at the very least offered an alternative. No apology and offered 3 pieces of cucumber and 3 pieces of tomato as a substitute for the salad. Unsatisfactory and overpriced. Won't be visiting again.

Short queue but once ordered a long wait to get hot drink and then an even longer wait for panini. Had to sit at a dirty table that was not cleared of used items until food brought over. The second time I had visited recently and same service before but gave the place a second chance. Either understaffed or staff need to speed up - not sure which.

Good food. Excellent service. Very friendly staff. And good decaf coffee!Would definitely recommend.

Whilst shopping in Clacton Shopping Village..stopped here for a break..nice clean place..staff friendly..had coffees and cakes..all enjoyed it..reasonably priced..

Visited here last week and was terribly disappointed. Tables need good scrub and floor .staff seem disinterested. Coffee was mediocre and only told us once sat down and paid they only had one tea cake available .surely they had tell you before you pay. It is not cheap so you would expect some friendliness wen ordering. It has dirty feel and staff couldn’t crack a smile . I would go to costa next time .

We love going to Harry's Coffee & Cakes. It's situated in the Clacton Shopping Village, which is very handy for us as we enjoy wandering around the shops. The young ladies who work there are always lovely, very pleasent, & helpful. We also love their cappuccinos. Sometime there is bit of a wait if they are very busy, which they can be at weekends. But the majority of the time we usually get our coffee & cakes within 10 mins. We would recommend a visit.

I do like Harrys but the service is fairly slow. Fine if you have plenty of time. The place is light and spacious, with seating outside to.

I recently visited Harry’s coffee and Cakes at Clacton factory outlet. I was disappointed with the managers attitude towards the customers and even the staff. The food was ok but I wouldn’t return, next time I will go to Costa or Greggs.

About the only thing worth stopping at Clacton Shopping Village..do nice snacks and cakes and good coffee..friendly service..rest of shopping village a complete waste

I love this coffee shop. Staff are always friendly and service is great. Best thing for me is the Lemon Meringue! Go as often as I can when in Clacton.

I go here quite regularly, I really like their coffee. I just wish they would have a change of food menu, as I have got a bit bored with it.

This was my visit to Harry’s and I can honestly say with my hand on my heart, it will be my last.

We stopped for lunch during a spot of shopping and two of us had a jacket potato which should have had coleslaw on the side but was not served . They had not informed us they had not had a delivery of coleslaw! The potatoes were awful probably the worse ever ! reheated , soggy and the grated cheese was cheap and tasteless. It quite frankly spoilt our expectations of how it should be with the name of Harry's bar ! Very disappointing.

Came here had two paninis, place was dirty. Enjoyed our drinks but was concered when they said they had no toilet or hand wash facilities. Later that night me and the person i visited with became very ill with sickness and everything! Would never go back. Wouldnt recommend anyone go there. Extremely disapointing.

We had lunch at Harry’s today it was lovely! We had the Harry’s Club Sandwich which was delicious! If you’re at the Clacton Outlet give them a go they’re great! It’s a busy little coffee place but always worth the wait! Cakes are out of this world too! The staff always work very hard and deserve praise! Thank you Harry’s as always a lovely time had by all at the table! And very responsible prices to boot! X

Went in today for a quick break from Christmas shopping, choosing a cuppa tea, while my friend had a coffee, however the shop was horrific!!! It was clear they had a huge puddle of water leaking from somewhere, could only assume at the back, it was so bad that it stunk the shop out. The washing up was obviously awful as half the crockery wasn’t washed properly, there was one girl, petite looking with dark hair left out the front by her self, rushing around like a lunatic trying to do all the jobs, as it was quite clear the other girl with her didn’t know how to do much. We waited a while for a drinks, unserstandably giving the circumstances, they were clearly under staffed with a serious health and hygiene issue. I then assumed the workers got permison from the shopping center head office to close the shop, in my opinion was a right move, only to then reopen 5-10 mins later, we went back in for a second try, however the smell was still horrific and you could clearly tell there was no manager in sight, leaving four members of staff to figure out the issue themselves was despicable. Needless to say, we definetly won’t be returning, instead we will go to the Costa a few shops down.

There were not many customers when we visited but at least three tables were full of dirty dishes. Very slow service, staff unenthusiastic. I dread to think how they cope if busy.

Nice staff, restaurant is sooo clean, loads of customers (tends to be packed) and have delicious treats, lunches and drinks. I would recommend for a lunch out.

This cafe is looking a bit shabby the fabric seats are stained . Our table took a while to have used cups taken and then the table wasn’t wiped down. Food was nice but the slow service and the dirty chairs are a little off putting

Nice place to drop in for coffee or lunch their range of cakes are so amazing that's it's hard to chose one All our cakes were delicious especially my lemon meringue service is good although it's hard to get seated sometimes as it's so busy

We always visit Harry’s when shopping at the Clacton Outlet - or even if we’re nearby! The cafe restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and is very nicely furnished - you’re literally spoilt for choice of cakes and sandwiches - but we like the Cappuccino and toasted teacake. It’s always seems quite busy which is good to see and the staff are very friendly and drinks served quickly. Good to support local businesses also. Thoroughly recommend stopping by next time you’re at the Outlet.

We Went for breakfast on Friday, and it was great, we meet friends every Friday for breakfast, we have tried most local restaurants, but always end up at Harry’s bar, most weeks, really enjoyed it

Yet again, another fantastic meal. I know treat myself once a week to lunch here during my lunch break from work. Really makes me feel special. Food is superb with large portions, premises is immaculate and staff are prompt and very friendly. I also pop in with friends when I can for a girlie coffee and cakes session, we all look forward to our next get together.

My husband and I regularly go to Harrys coffee and cakes and we find it a lovelly and relaxing place. The coffee is always very nice and I am exceptionally funny about the strength of my coffee and it is always to my liking. The cakes are yummy and I look forward to popping into harrys when I visit the Shopping village. The staff are always so pleasant and helpful especially If we have one of our grandchildren with us and they make a mess.

Numerous cake crumbs all over the cash counter whilst I waited to order. The young female cashier was heavily engaged in talking with the young male customer about their mutual social events. After five minutes they finally concluded their conversations. I a

What an absolutely abysmal cafe. Dirty filthy floors, manky tables covered in dirty cups and saucers and staff all standing around completely disinterested. It was busy but I fail to understand why. The coffee was really bitter, poorly made and the only bottled water they had was a really disgusting fruit flavoured water that tasted off! Left it all and vowed never to return. I would recommend you go elsewhere if you have any standards at all.

Place is very untidy cutlery left on tables floor is a mess not very hygienic won’t be going again it wasn’t even busy staff just standing around talking you can hear them laughing and joking out the back management is shocking clearly who ever the manger is they don’t care about the business

Popped in for a morning coffee. Having visited the restaurant in Thorpe, it seemed like the thing to do. The coffee was lovely when it arrived but I'm guessing that the staff could do without the guy hanging around trying to chat up the barista.

Whilst shopping at Clacton Shopping Village..this is a great place to stop for snacks..cakes and drinks..good quality..and reasonably priced..

Came in for quick sandwich and coffee !!! Busy but plenty of staff. Ordered Beef sandwich and Cappuccino. 30 minute wait. Beef was mainly gristle and impossible to eat, horseradish was good ! They forgot my coffee, despite me saying to waitress 'don't forget my coffee'.

mid afternoon, popped in to have a drink and something too eat. Less than half full! I ordered a pot of tea and a Pannini, not a difficult order. The time it took to arrive was dreadful not what I expected as not many people. When it arrived it was ok but nothing special.

Popped in for a tea, coffee and cake. Extremely busy but quality as good as always. Reasonable long wait for drinks and cake but not unexpectedly given how busy they were.

Arrived at 12.15pm ordered soup they had sold out.

Popped in for a spot of lunch but this was horrible. We eat lunch out frequently, nothing fancy just a panini and a cuppa and never have we been anywhere with such horrible food and surroundings.

Nice place but wasn’t happy with being told that we could only sit on one side of the restaurant due to to them already cleaning the other side of restaurant and this was over an hour before they close! If I’m spending money here I shouldn’t be told where I can sit just because they can finish earlier!

It’s coffee and cakes.. and that’s what you’ll get. Not a bad location and pleasant service. Worth a visit.

Lovely clean well run and efficient coffee shop , piping hot lattes served quickly closely followed by very tasty bacon and Brie paninis , had to resist the cakes but they looked amazing !!

The poor girls were rushed off of their feet, so did their best, but; tables were not cleared, piled with plate upon plate, cup upon cup and very dirty.

Popped in a couple of Saturdays ago about 3ish, had jackets,a tea and a slice of cake. Jackets were quite small and not very hot... The tea they forgot to bring over and the cake was so cold (where it was in the chiller).. cold sponge cake..? hmm..! Tea was nice when it finally came and staff seem friendly... would not rush back

Very poor service took 15 minutes to get two hit chocolates which were not hot. I went to the counter myself to retrieve the drinks before they got colder Shame they have a monopoly. If you want a drink it’s the only place other than Burger King

When visiting Clacton Common it's a great little place to sit and chill. My daughter had a party next door at Claire's Accessories and after a bit of shopping it was nice to have a cuppa and cake. Plenty of choices and you can sit inside or out. My only gripe is they bring you your tea or coffee straight away and it takes a while before the food comes, by which time your tea is warm or gone! We only had a sausage roll and cake, I couldn't understand why such a wait, especially when staff looked to be standing around. Maybe they had set duties but it was a bit of a let down in this case. It hasn't put me off going again though, I'll just ask for my tea with my food.

Visited here on the 1st and was very surprised! service from the staff was great and my food came in no time. The cafe itself was overall very clean and tidy, staff were making sure tables were clear as it was quite busy. My food was very nice (jacket potato) and not at all cold or bad. I was very surprised with Harry’s and will definitely be coming back!

Every now and then I give this place a try hoping to see some improvement in standards & speed of service. Today we were shopping and wanted to grab some lunch. Although there were plenty of staff they seem to mainly young girls operating a one speed. There never seems to be anyone senior or in charge? The youngsters are left to get on with it!

Visited here towards the end of the summer holidays, one afternoon. And my goodness could you see how tired and drained all the staff looked, no one smiled or really had the time to interact with customers, I completely get it after a long day / long summer holidays it's very draining but still you'd think managers would make the effort to ensure staff are all ok and enjoying themselves as much as possible. No fault at all with drinks they were both lovely it's just such a shame the staff seem so unhappy to be there. Apart from that really lovey decorations and a great food and drink menu.

Lovely cup of tea and a cheese and pickle sandwich made with very thick granary bread. Very tasty! Will come again for sure.

Need to relax and have a panini? Or maybe a slice of cake this place is clean and food is great every time I've been and never had an issue. They have out door seat for warm non rainy days.

We have been here a couple of times now. And not been disappointed. We had a quick lunch there with coffee and hot roasted potatoes

Excellent coffee and an excellent choice of cakes which I might add were delicious. A great place to rest weary feet after walking round the shops.

We have avoided this place for years, for no good reason really, (might be because of its location) but we have been very surprised. This establishment is Excellent ! with a wide range of delicious cakes and coffee etc, we have now visited several times and never been disappointed, Food is much better than the majority of places to eat around Clacton. Keep up the good work !!! ( carrot cake is EXCELLENT )

Great coffee and hot chocolate..roast beef and horseradish sanwich and sausage sandwich..and the BEST Lemon mergie pie ..best ever like egg custard in middle.

Visited for Coffee and Victoria Sponge Cake which we'd had last year and had thoroughly enjoyed. We sat outside on a pleasant day. Coffee was good, but when brought to our table it had been overfilled and spilled quite considerably into the saucer. No apology or attempt to bring a napkin to wipe it up!The cake was the last piece and was a dry. I much prefer the ones available at the same price from the National Trust properties! Oh well, better luck next time!

Set in the retail park (presume a former shop unit) loads of space and choice of seating. Great selection of cakes, good display and very tasty (judging by what we ate).Ordered and brought to the table - counter staff very efficient and friendly (prompt to clear away tables after use). Worth a stop off even if not fussed about the shopping.

Yesterday enjoyed a lovely lunch sat outside in the sun in Feb. Food was good and fair price. Decaf coffee was excellent. Nice protected area from the wind.

i am gluten free and found it was no trouble to eat here , polite good service ,food was good and i felt comfortable dinning here.

A very pleasant visit on a freezing cold day. The venue is large and light and not too overcrowded with tables. The service was delightful and we will be returning to sample some of the delicious looking food.Thoroughly recommend.

Popped in for lunch of a sausage sandwich, granary bread and a side salad with balsamic vinegar, delicious, tasty sausages and yummy bread, ordered at the counter and it was brought to our table.

Friendly atmosphere good value for money hot chocolate not hot but ok comfy and warm hope more outlets open to make it viable

Nice looking place , but wouldn't vista's again only plus was coffee nice & hot , ordered a scone with jam & butter it came & was so hot you would of had burnt mouth eating it!! butter just melted like water it had obviously been Microwaved! , when I asked for a normal cold one I was told they can't do a cold one so obviously they are frozen & Microwaved this is not how scones are served so opted for the Christmas cake which was tasteless dry just awful!! Girls working there pleasent enough ,but don't think they are used to complaints but if your paying money then I expect what I paid for .

Meet with a friend today for a coffee and chat.Was shocked how many flies were about in the cafe on a really cold day makes you wonder what's lurking behind the scenes. WHAT Causing all the flies????Pity nice place but of putting.

Harry's is one of my favourite places to go. They always have a good selection of cakes and the sandwiches and paninis are good too. I love the new bigger shop with all the modern interior makes a really cozy and nice atmosphere. Service is always with a smile and you can see how popular it is there and how hard the girls work to make your visit a good one.

Me and my friend have been to harrys Coffee and cakes a few times, and every time has been lovely! Yes sometimes you have to wait a little while, and sometimes the girls have to clear your table! But doesn't that show you just how popular this coffee shop is? I always see the girls working hard, doing the best they can when the place is booming... they are always polite, and make sure you have everything to enjoy your time here!Alot of people do not give the staff enough credit and just like something to moan about!Anyways I will continue to come here, and look forward to it too!☓

Just missed my bus home so had 1/2 hr to spare. Went for a coffee and hot chocolate, the place was pretty empty. Nice coffee and hot chocolate but gave it a low score as we waited 15 mins for our drinks. Slowest service i've ever had in a coffee place so if in a hurry don't go.

We visit twice weekly almost without fail and on numerous occasions I have mentioned to the wife how hard the staff work especially during peak periods. Matching staff to workload is not easy at various times of the day. Since Home Shopping opened its doors Harrys Bar is more popular than ever. What we all have to consider is that at certain times of the day there are only two food outlets to service the requirements of the Shopping Village. I would say that on occasions that is an impossible task.Yes I have seen times when tables need clearing before people can use that table but generally that is because the place is very busy. When this happens the staff do clear the table as quickly as possible finishing with spraying the table and wiping it clean. The staff are also entitled to their breaks and if this clashes with peak customer attendance then it may appear short staffed for that time period.We very rarely have to wait but if the coffee bar is very busy then patience is the watchwordThe staff are always curtious and polite and we are happy to wait on the odd occasion.The mere fact that we have to wait on occasions speaks volumes for what they have to offer. Is it not the case that the best places in business are those where demand outstrips supply Finally I firmly believe the staff do their best and we are lucky to have them serve us.

This used to be a lovely place to eat before the new car park opened. It seems that they have more costomers now than they cope with

Visited last Saturday whilst doing some shopping and wanted a snack and coffee coffee shop was not full but lots of uncleared tables ordered food and was told there would be a 30min wait , they have to be joking only wanted a snack not a full meal so I walked out along with another customer can only hope that another coffee shop /snack bar opens very soon

My partner & I have visited this great place 4 times now when up this way just for the great coffee & cakes they offer & at a reasonable price too. It's so good that we always wait for a table as constantly busy, which says it all, well done Harry's & see you next month.
