McDonald's in Tendring

I’m absolutely livid. I’ve ordered from here through Just Eat a few times. Twice the food hasn’t even arrived, once the drink was spilt all over the food. They now owe me about £50. McDonald’s won’t help, they keep saying it’s Just eat’s problem but Just eat won’t help. They promised a refund and I never got it. I never have trouble with any other restaurant through just eat so it’s clearly the McDonalds responsibility. I’m so angry.

When did it take 10 minutes to make a burger , staff used their hands to place meat on the bun. McDonald's has gone down the hill in recent years and this is by far the worse one I've been to.

The visit was just for my friends son, who I was babysitting. He is 5 knows no better and loved it. I hadn't eaten one in over 20 years, and nothing has changed. Great place for families and groups of friends. Seating outside and upstairs. There is plenty of seating, very clean, due to the hard-working cleaner up there. So I guess very good value for people, very efficient and friendly.

Ordered breakfast for a takeaway. I didn't like the way the big man who was clearly in charge of the other staff spoke about how big this order is and kept complaining to the other staff members, and it made me feel uncomfortable. I was here with my extended family of 13 including kids. He made it sound like he never got this large order before. The other staff members were fine, just him not a good example

Can’t say much about McDonald’s it’s McDonald’s 😊 they’re doing their best

The service was so quick and efficient. We received our order within minutes and everything was very efficient. The staff cleaning the tables were also very hardworking and kept going around frequently. Well done to all the staff !

Location is beautiful near the picturesque pier. We ordered from the gourmet menu and IT IS GOURMET! !! I had the Mcflurry and the chef must have been trained by Gordon ramsay as I'm sure I tasted truffle oil amongst the m and ms. The gourmet meals came out fast very fast. Have to try McDonald's next time your in England. 4 stars

Slowest McDonald’s in Essex! Have been here a few times, has the opportunity to be a good little McDonald’s, however, every time I have made an order whether that be a single cheeseburger or a meal, I have been left waiting for around 15 minutes which is disappointing. I feel where this McDonald’s is let down, is that they receive far too many Deliveroo / uber / just eat orders which in turn slows down the process, leaving in person customers a long wait. Food is as good as it gets as far as a McDonald’s goes bar the wait!

Absolute joke of a manger who was very ignorant had no interest in helping sort a problem out when they were taking my order using my points with code from app which was telling me they had received my code and my points being deducted and was loading on to their screen but not coming through by telling me it was my problem my end even tho my app was telling me they had received to code not once but four times. Tbh it seems like i had walked in and ruined a social gathering of friends as the staff were all a lot more interested in chatting to each other than dealing with customers!! Definitely would not go back

Went through the drive tru, ordered the double big mac, was asked if I wanted it with or without bacon, I said with bacon, they charged me for it with bacon. Yes you guessed it..... NO BACON

The food is probably the best taste from quite a few McDonald's I have visited in the past,I don't know if that change of ingredients or anything else 💭

Tables and floors had food on them. No one cleaning them. Disabled toilet downstairs was filthy. People walking in just to use the toilet, which meant a disabled person had to wait. Despite the door needing a radar key to open it, the door was left open. Chips were cold. I ordered water, was given fruit shoot.

Placed an order via the app whilst I was inside. Was waiting for my order and all of a sudden it disappeared from the board. I went to and asked where it was, and had to show the receipt of my order. They made my order, but missed things out so I had to go back twice to rectify the problems. Not a great experience this time. I'm here quite a lot as my autistic son loves the burgers. But this time it just wasn't up to standard.

I went there this summer when i visited clacton on the sea . It's a good option for vegetarian people as I am vegetarian I found only this in this area and it's very close to sea.

Haven't been to this McDonald's for ages because of the scum that hang around this scruffy branch. Sat downstairs and spoke to an older member of staff short grey hair covered in tattoos and got ignored. Looked so miserable I nearly asked why don't you try and get a job somewhere else.(probably wouldn't employ her) arrived home after our meal when both myself and my wife had upset stomachs

One of my favourite McDonald's. People of Clacton. Please do not vote for Reform/Farage. You are better than that. Farage's politics is divisive. All he cares about is Brand Farage. If you want the Tories out then vote Labour.

Provides a fantastic banana milkshake to throw over any visiting grifters.

The disabled toilets were broken and the upstairs toilets were locked.

Extremely average, loads of noisy kids in there, toilets upstairs, a run down feel to the whole place.

So yesterday they gave me the wrong order and today they have cancelled my order for no reason this place is terrible needs to be shut down!!!

Didn't eat only used the restroom ladies room. Not enough toilets for the size of establishment. Only two small rooms and one was out of order due to someone dropping a whole cooked chicken down the pan.😳😳😳😳🥴😱🫣

If I could give this place a 0 star I actually would ,this morning was just the worst ever we waited over half hour for our meal and there was people there who came in after us and got there food before us and they were jumbling the numbers up I vow to never come back to this branch again .

My 79 year old dad ordered a takeaway meal for him and his great granddaughter when the delivery arrived half of the meal was missing so he called the pier avenue branch to tell them his meal was missing , he was then accused of lying to the manager who’s called ABBiE and then spoke to him in a very rude manner which has upset him, how can McDonald’s let their managers talk to costumers in this manner manager Abbie . Just been told by my dad that she told him to take the receipt to the shop so she can check it 😡 this is a photo of the rude store manager

Good clean place. Quite quick considering the amount of people in there. Seating was available and was also clean.

Love the new double deluxe burger table service useful not a fan off having to pay for the sauce not including tom

Normal mac d's food fries a few black ones as normal. Burger big mac slapped together as normal. Mac Donalds it what it is cheap stop gap.

The food tasted like a proper McDonald's cause you can go to some McDonald's, and they're not good at all . It was nice and clean . Plenty of happy helpful staff.

Nice change from Gregg's but not as good value for money.

Placed an order with just eat and got the food with various issues which were missing the 4 hash browns and both muffins poorly wrapped and both half open and when I called McDonald's to try and get the missing items I was told bluntly and rudely that we won't get them as it's not their policy to resend items that are missing as it's not one of their drivers so we have to call just eat and get a refund. Don't know why McDonald's pier avenue has gone down hill with customer service and quality but over the last few months it's becoming shocking service and this is one customer that won't be using this outlet again.

Without a doubt the worst mcdonalds i ever tried to eat ! The staff must have known we had a couple of beers covered out burgers in massive amounts of salt purposely it was horrendous. Omg we could not remove the taste and got a full refund after one bite .Staff refused to take a bite of what we where served it was absolutely horrenous and two hours later i cant get the salt taste out of my mouth .We got a full refund and i wil l never return ruined our night out ! Never again omg why would you do that to a couple on a night out .

Lacks enough seating downstairs for Mum's with pushchairs and elderly who cannot make the stairs.

I had a breakfast sandwich with hash browns and it was really good. Also tried their chicken Big Mac but I’ve had better chicken sandwiches. Fish sandwich had a lot of tartar sauce which I appreciate 😏also, the seasonal hot chocolate is amazing.

Nice food but I always make a point of no cheese . 9 times out of 10 it comes with cheese . Now while I'm waiting for what I ask for my chips get cold . This happens in many branches .

Staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean. Great atmosphere.

Avoid the kiosks! They rarely print receipts, which means you can't fill out the survey and get money off your next meal. Aside from that, it's a really good restaurant. Lots of floor space, lots of places to sit upstairs, clean toilets, friendly staff and a great location.

Stop blaming Uber for your mistakes last time I checked delivery drivers do not pack your food deliveries due to cross contamination

Tried to order via the app, travelled about 15 mins. On arrival I marked myself as there but then the app said it couldn't send my order. I showed the staff and they had to type a code in so it would pull my order up but that didn't work. So I decided to just reorder for a kiosk and reorder. Service was ok and the staff were busy but that meant less staff were there to engage with customers. The service was quick in relation to when I placed the order. I don't use McDonalds a lot so I can't compare it to many visits I've had but the restaurant felt empty, there were more deliveroo & just eat drivers picking up orders than physical customers.

All I can say its meant to be a fast restaurant what a joke 22 mins for a mcflurry, when I asked the manager who was standing around with 5 other colleagues and a further 2 waiting by the door of the kitchen talking , he said it will be a few mins still waited another 10, won't be returning

Edited this review 15th September 2023. Removed the stars as this place is just awful. We ordered 2 coffees and a portion of fries. This took 8 minutes to do. Well I say 8 minutes because as the staff seem to think it's a social club. Whilst you're patience is tested the staff are talking, laughing etc. What they're not doing is providing hot food quickly or cleaning tables. Most of the staff look as if they've slept in their uniform. Management here should just spend a short time observing their staff and discipline where necessary. Last few times of stopping here have been extremely disappointing to say the least. It is almost always filthy and staffed by people who I can only explain as seemingly on community service due to court order. Not a single one acts as though they want to be there. We sat upstairs and watched one young kid taking 20 minutes to clean the area without actually doing anything! The photos show what was on the floor for the entire 40 minutes we were there. The toilets were filth themselves but as many many people treat it as public toilets it would need clearing every 20 minutes. The food was average at best and not particularly hot. This place has done a lot better and to be fair was quite busy but nowhere near summer season busy. Come on guys you CAN do better.

Having forgotten a £2.20 chocolate brownie in my last order, I was told no problem call us when you've ordered and we will make sure it comes with this order... WELL THIS ORDER WHERE DO I START... No Brownie, the delivery driver did not ring No.10 clearly stated on my order, he instead woke up my neighbour and eventually came up after me saying twice top floor. He was unapologetic, when I checked my order it was stone cold, the burgers look like were put together like a blind person & when I asked if he could double check incase the missing brownie was in the bag separately he just said no. So from the saver menu I had 1 x cheeseburger, 1 bacon mayo, 1 small fries, this totalled £9.56 because the delivery for a 4 minute journey of under a mile is £3.99. Now Clacton on Sea Pier Avenue manager will NOT answer the phone. I don't have a lot of money therefore this was supposed to be a treat, but once again inedible food and disgraceful service.

How do you forget cheese on a cheese burger. This ruined my day I loved that McDonald's cheese sooooo much that I could DRINK IT.

I recently visited the McDonald's in Clacton town centre and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was of a high quality. The restaurant was very clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I was also pleased to see that they offer a wide selection of menu items, including vegetarian and vegan options. The prices are reasonable, and the food arrived quickly. All in all, I would highly recommend the McDonald's in Clacton town centre for a quick and enjoyable meal.

It's was still too busy at anytime to get an meal with others housemates.

I ordered a milkshake using one of the kiosks, almost immediately my number came up on the board as ready to collect. The whole place was in chaos with staff wandering around looking lost and delivery drivers leaning over the counter helping themselves to whatever orders they wanted! After waiting around 10 minutes for my number to be called, I approached the counter and spoke to a bearded man who looked like he might be a supervisor or manager. I told him I'd been waiting for quite a while for one milkshake and as I spoke I spotted it sitting on top of the receipt with my number on. I pointed it out and the man told me that my number must have been called. As I don't make a habit of spending time waiting for something unnecessarily I told him it hadn't. He dumped my milkshake on the counter and walked away!

It was busy when I ordered but there were no issues. Not a bad branch, it's a shame about all the antisocial behaviour warnings everywhere. I'm guessing it gets a bit hairy at times!

Service was quick and efficient. However, that resulted in a bit reckless food handling. Burgers weren't put together with care and attention to a detail. Plenty of space in the restaurant. Certain restrictions apply as people without shoes nor top weren't allowed in.

Loads of workers but very slow, It was a quiet night and barely anyone was here and they took 25 mins for a very small order

Absolutely filthy…. Food was ok but trying to enjoy a meal surrounded by pure filth is difficult. Open nappies in the toilet, rubbish everywhere. Cleaner was on site but didn’t seem to be doing much!

We had to wait quite a while for our food,it was quite cold in the restaurant upstairs and down, and there was no toilet paper in the men's toilets

I rarely go to Clacton on Sea but have in the past year on 2 occasions for work. Both times I was extremely disappointed with the service. The first l ordered a large milkshake the cup came 3/4 full below the line. I asked why this was so and was told that is how it is. When asked to see manager I was ignored. The second occasion I ordered a Maltese Mcflurry regular, I was given a mini and told this was a regular. Very disappointed and will eat elsewhere when I next visit Clacton.

Food was okay, normal McDonald's standard. Service was awful. Tried ordering from app but it wasn't working so I had to go down to the till. Asked if I could still get table service as I had left the kids at the table to pay. She said no I had to wait downstairs as they don't have staff to do that. (available on app!) Whilst eating 3 different tables got table service. Toilet was really disgustingly dirty. Everywhere else was clean

Went there with my mum on 19/06/2023 I asked the women there for a McCafé caramel latte just to get told they don’t serve them there when 4 other customers got them so they gave me and mum a iced latte not what I ordered then when I asked for wispa gold McFlurry she belittled me and said do you want wispa normal or gold when there was a shop full of customers also when I clearly asked for wispa gold so I won’t be going to McDonald’s again

There is nothing like sitting outside on a warm summer's day sipping on a frozen strawberry lemonade and having a Mcflurry while watching the world go by. Was very busy.

Would not class this as a family friendly environment. Delivery drivers everywhere inside, kids vaping upstairs and an overall bad experience. Avoid!

My daughter has come home very Ill from the food and now has food poisoning won’t be going to this McDonald’s for a very long time

Shears extremely busy, especially eating evening when it's full of young teenagers trying to act like adults and just being a pain. Afternoons aren't too bad but still quite busy. If you're collecting an order be sure to stand near the counters and listen carefully, while watching the order board, as they don't always call out loud enough and your order shuts on a shelf going cold as they don't call out again. Delivery is fast a reliable and the food's usually still warm.

it’s normally alright in here service and quickness but today i popped in after my dentist apt and a lady aggressively asked why i wasn’t in school and then when i told her i was about to go back in i just had a dentist apt she rolled her eyes at me

Lovely hot fresh food which was delivered to my table by a pleasant young man & very quickly.

Long wait, chips soggy and cold, chicken sandwich like cardboard. Staff not following food hygiene basic requirements, hair net, hat or tied back. Even worse this person was a manager and was leaning over the chips dishing out. As the sister of a food auditor this is extremely poor practice, very noticeable that the uniformed staff were all adhering to the requirements. Seemingly management have their own rules. Don't go macdonalds very often, and after this shan't be returning in a hurry. Took our food sat outside in the square about 50 yards away and everything was cold.

You cannot get a milkshake in this place anytime between midnight and 7am, tonight apparently both machines are broken but I know the staff lie about this, one time she said they don’t do milkshakes at 6am, LIE, the staff just can’t be arsed to put the machine on. Tonight the fries are absolutely disgusting, I can’t even swallow them, they are undercooked and cold No gherkin in the burgers Worst meal I’ve ever had 🤢

Got ripped of twice last time I ask for 1 box of six chicken nuggets but I got two when I wanted two dips and today me and my fiancé got burgers each when I wanted small chips and my fiancé wanted medium chips didn't get that at all

Maccies food as you would expect, restaurant was very clean, staff were friendly and efficient, and a nice view of Clacton from upstairs. Niamh and Lou really brought the experience to another level. I was really humbled and taken a back by how friendly and helpful they were, people like these are a dime a dozen these days, and McDonalds should be proud to have them on their team.

A done by numbers excerise, easy and no frills. Food standard stuff and never understood the odd after taste, but yet you want more. Staff always appear not to want to be there, but I guess is is ok as it fulfill the expectation I had to go. It was once a treat years ago, it's just a little sad now and this outlet did nothing to spark.

Management absolutely terrible. If they receive the same level of training they give to their newly appointed crew members then there is absolutely no hope. They are in charge of shifts yet unable to organise their team for the advantage of the restaurant. Training is severely lacking and considering they are taking on minors a lot of the time, their patience and knowledge sharing leaves a lot to be desired. They speak to their colleagues in a demeaning and discriminatory manner. Absolutely no care or consideration for disabilities. No hope for the future, for a pleasant inclusive, diverse team to provide hot fast food in a clean environment with the management at present.

Ordered a double sausage meal with the special hot chocolate and a triple sausage McMuffin on its own. Got no triple it was a double, hash brown missing from the meal deal and chocolate half empty. I thought it was excellent service really quick and polite, probably because they just wanted us to leave and not look in the bag.

Was very noisy assistant said couldn't hear me and was a burger short in my order didn't get a receipt as till roll had run out so had to by the burger that was missing I have found this with most McDonald's I've ordered from always something wrong or missing not my favorite take away was a treat for my grandchildren as we had taken them to Clacton for half term holiday

Ordered a delivery but burgers chips etc were cold...I'm only up the road!!!
