Better than most fir a coffee in Clacton

The coffee is good and the space is pleasant but it could be cleaner, especially the upholstery of the chairs.

The Clacton Costa is the best in the UK. The can't be beaten for friendliness. Always pleased to see you always know your regular order

I visited this store a few times while I was on holiday and one specific encounter bought me to make this review. I had a complicated order and I usually have to explain things to staff whilst they are making the drinks because things naturally get forgotten. Throughout this member of staff making the drinks she became more irritated with myself and then when I asked for sprinkles (usually something that is forgotten) she snapped and said "It's getting there" this was a very unessisary comment and before this I requested my drinks to be topped to a certain point as I use the cups daily and know how much it can be filled before the lid goes on, she tried to tell me otherwise and I calmly corrected her which irritated her more. This seems minor but it left me feeling uncomfortable and I didn't want to return. I can describe the member of staff in question if management would like to look into this further.

Overpriced, extremely average coffee and service, lack-lustre all round.

Quite a large coffee shop and very good service and a chat with the barrister, asking me if I've had a good day as I was visiting the area from London.

Drinks great as always but staff have no customer service apart from the lady on the til. Just plonk your drink in front of you and say nothing no thank you or anything.

Service and quality of the product was as usual excellent.

Cleanliness is certainly not the best at this branch. Stepped on poo in the unisex toilet. Yes, poo on the floor. Very unhygienic. Can see the whole shop hasn’t been cleaned properly too. Hope management sees this review and make some changes to improve overall cleanliness.

Had issues with this costa previously ..but was close by and needed a coffee went in to see 3 staff ..ok not over staffed but doable ..sadly it was a mess and i mean appalling...every empty table needed clearing and cleaning ..my husband cleared a table whilst i got the coffees ..whilst barista was pouring the flat white i commented on milk not being hot enough ..and reply was its standard temp if you wanted hotter should have ordered extra hot !!! I could see it wasnt hot enough as the flat white wasnt feathered at all.. even an untrained eye could see it...she obviously couldnt ..she put my drinks on tray and wrnt on to make next customers coffee . We drank our coffees in 3 mins flat ..firstly as just tepid secondly the place was dirty and a mess...not relaxing or enjoyable as one expects ..emailed costa ...got a generic email back giving me enough beans for a coffee..emailed back saying not acceptable explaining in more detail my concerns on cleanliness both sides of counter ...rude staff and poor quality drinks ...today i recieve another 10 beans onto my account for another coffee...no email to say what steps they are taking . One of them is to obviously not take the complaint seriously...disgusted with them will not be using the free coffees.. will not be using costa again until this is dealt with properly...the cleanliness on both sides of counter is serious hygiene issue ...wake up costa. You are getting complacent ...loyal customers are only loyal when brand maintains a standard that we pay highly for . Thankfully this isnt across majority of your stores but how youve dealt with it shows that you dont give a toss about customer satisfaction just profit...so for that reason I'M OUT !!!

The place doesn't look as fully stocked as before. Also seems to be shut (close) on many occasions.

Just had a home delivery service for breakfast I'm blown away with the Food I ordered definitely going to order again

No happy, delivery's took priority over people in shop waiting . Then you have to pay top price to have a drink. It's a joke

Very rude staff, really can't make hot chocolates, i wouldnt waste your money in there! Will be sticking to the Costa in Next at Waterglade :)

Table's in need of cleaning, and clearing.

A good spot on Clacton to come to at various times of day, nice in the early morning when not too busy, when there staff were helpful and there was lots of space for either group tables or single spots to sit. Sometimes can be busy at popular times but lots of people serving can help with getting through orders quickly.

Both members of staff were so unhelpful and completely dismissed us because their ice machine wasn’t working. No alternative was offered and there was zero attempt at being friendly or accommodating. Went to the Frinton branch and they were brilliant.

Clacton town Costa,not the best experience Staff not very attentive,more interested in taking selfies than serving. Also place didn't look that clean. However all the of the Costa's Ive been have proved to be efficient,friendly and clean

I took my grandma out with my mum for hot chocolate, which we were looking forward to. When my mum went up to put the order in, the member of staff who served her Chloe was very rude and unpleasant. Terrible customer service, very rude and unhelpful. it's a shame as we go their regularly.

Staff are lovely unfortunately they were far too busy to clear tables and clear up the mess everywhere which was a shame

The manager needs to rectify the abhorrent behaviour of the barista on this morning as there action feel undue anexity and ruin her day. You never know what people are going through please have respect to your customers

Was made to feel embarrassed by a member of staff when I didn’t mention straight away that I would’ve liked my toastie heated. The member of staff begrudgingly said “You should have told me that earlier”. Didn’t realise it was something that should have been mentioned upon approaching the till, and was made to feel ashamed for not knowing this. The same member of staff was unfriendly to two elderly ladies who were queuing before me for not understanding the Costa App. Usually the service at Costa is pleasant so I was really taken aback by the attitude today.

Nice little Costa in the heart of Clacton-on-Sea. I would've given 5 stars aside from seeing some poor gentleman having to hobble over to the counter to collect his drink instead of one of the baristas doing what they should be paid for & politely bringing beverages over on a tray with sugar, napkins & plenty of milk. Just saying. 😉

Worst cappacino ever, dish water, got refund. Waited ages but staff pleasant.

Yet again a costa that couldn't provide the full expreince no balls for new mango frappe but made it without the balls the lids where not on probably and spilled down my top but never mind it made up for it in taste and cooled me down

Not the greatest experience here today to be honest. Firstly, we were told we couldn't sit in an area as it was closed, not sure why. Then we had to clear a table before sitting somewhere else. Not sure if the branch was short staffed today but it looked a mess; tables not cleared and crockery, trays and other rubbish piled up near the counter. They'd run out of proper coffee cups and I'm guessing the tables hadn't been wiped for a while. Not great.

I love all costa. Only complaint here is the coffee tasted stronger than normal however staff were polite and friendly, all areas kept clean and covid quidlines were followed.

COVID compliant, with about half the seats closed to ensure distancing, a large screen barrier for the staff, an automatic hand gel dispenser and of course a trace login point. Really nice food and drink as ever, super friendly staff who were happy to add a dash of sugar syrup to my mum's iced frappuccino. Best thing of all? With the current 50% off government incentive, a drink and cake each came to under a fiver all in.

This branch had become a bit run down and we had walked away.However under new management with a lovely welcoming team they are back in the game and we would recommend that you pay a visit.A small but nice selection of biscuits for those of us who are gluten free. A polite request to those individuals using the toilets and baby change facilities who act in a gross manner-please don’t! Surely you would not leave the toilet in your own home yucky or put a soiled nappy on the floor for someone else to deal with.

Service was quick and the staff were friendly and polite. Tables were cleared in a timely manner Quite a nice selection of cakes and sandwiches to choose from as well as other nibbles to go with your coffee. Can find no fault and enjoyed a cold drink (salted caramel and cream) which I would definitely recommend.

Manager was was great. Despite issues with the tills, she was spot on, and I could actually taste the syrup with my coffee, which is very rare in a Costa, yield being more important and all.

This Costa gave us excellent service. The atmosphere was so calming, the air conditioning provided relief and freshness from the heat

I can't really say too much about it as I only spent a little more than half hour wasting time until I caught my train. Probably the only place in this town that I saw young people. In general I like Costa's coffee and that one was no exception. The place was clean, relatively relaxing and air-conditioned. Good overall.

This particular Costa wasn't up to the usual high standard. The barista totally screwed up the order. An Americano with milk ended up as a cup of milk, a saulted caramel latte in a cup ended with all the caramel un mixed in the bottom of the cup. Total mess up...

Have visited this Costa a few times but after today’s visit we will never use this Costa again. A male behind the counter (a large gentleman) wiped his sweat from his head with paper towel/tissue, then immediately after used the same tissue to wipe down the counter by the coffee machine!!! The same person was suffering fits of coughing several times whilst serving and should not be handling food/drinks in this condition. Clearing tables and general cleaning is not a priority for this Costa - staff seem to have plenty of time to chat to each other though.
