The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in East of England

We arrived and we were quickly shown to our table. Our drinks orders were taken, and we were swiftly served. Our meal order was taken after some deliberation over the menu as there was a great choice of many lovely things to eat! Two of the group chose starters, and after a bit of a wait, they arrived. They looked and reported to taste delicious. The serving were large, so, only order if you are really hungry! We had quite a wait for our main courses but they were worth the wait! All of the meals were well presented and again, large portions. Mine was delicious and all the others reported that theirs were tasty too. The seasonal veg were cooked to the bite which makes such a change from some being over cooked. If you have room for a dessert, there is an ample selection of hot traditional puddings through to cold desserts and ice cream. Two of us ventured to have a chocolate brownie with ice cream. Again, the portions were generous but really tasty. The ice cream portion was the biggest on the plate, which was perfect! If you want fast food then this is not for you as the serve 'good food not fast food ' which we all totally agree with!

I was visiting today and was rather disappointed by the judgemental response I received. I was paying for a tea whilst watching my family on the beach playing football. Initially I enjoyed a conversation with the person, paying for my tea. Then on waiting for my tea he said "oh your not one of them are you", I paused and said no I am on my own. He then said oh you know you brought a tea and then sit there with a family. I believe just buying a tea wasn't enough. It was not even full and the tables were empty. It was extremely judgemental and I will not be returning. I appreciate it's business but I felt if I was on my own and this was my only interaction with someone for the day I felt unwelcome.

This cafe produces the best hot cross buns ever, coffee good and staff very nice. This is a lovely town full of old world charm

Very nice meal, polite staff well worth a visit. Its nice to visit in the summer as you can go for a walk along the sea front before heading over there for a sit down meal but it does get busy and they do allow dogs.

I popped in whilst shopping in tesco around 09.30am and had a lovely breakfast! its a buffet cooked breakfast - also has continental options!

Not very friendly staff, otherwise quite clean. Not sure if going to buy from them again. Probably need some staff training

A very colourful diner in traditional style. The menu had a range and we chose a burger and a salad. The staff were professional, checked to see if we wanted anything and if we were happy with our choice. For a quick meal this was ideal.

I recently arranged the wake for my late mum's funeral at The Black Boy in Bricket Wood, and I can’t express how easy this was from start to finish. From my very first interaction with Peter, nothing was too much trouble, and the options were easy to understand and book. I was familiar with The Black Boy pub and must admit the location is ideal—just a short drive from West Herts Crematorium, making it convenient for guests, with a small car park and ample street parking available as well. Peter's guidance in planning the catering was perfect; he takes all the hassle away and there was more than enough food for our group. The selection of hot and cold finger foods, along with the delightful cake and fresh fruit, was ideal for the occasion. The small reserved area for our group to sit and talk, was perfect and the bowls of crisps laid out, was a nice extra touch too. Peter also gives the option to include a personalised music playlist and a photo slideshow for the large screens. Which is a really nice touch. On the day, the staff were amazing, kind, attentive, and respectful, ensuring all our requests were met . I would recommend The Black Boy for any similar gatherings. Thank you once again to Peter and team for making this difficult time a little easier.

Clean, welcoming branch of costa. Very cosy and nice view of the clocktower. Staff are always very nice and friendly.

Went for a family meal here last night really disappointed the steak was over priced and then the chips was fat and frothy in side the stir fry was not good no mention it being spicy the short rib we had better home made at Christmas the prices was shocking for the quality of food would not recommend the restaurant but would recommend the butchers won’t be going back in a hurry.

We have been here many times before but our last visit was somewhat disappointing. The food took a long while to arrive and we found our waitress a little curt when we asked if we could have more custard. After spending £150 for 4 we thought it wasn't unreasonable to politely ask if my son could have a little more as the serving was very small. The waitress said that it was the portion size which came with the dessert but she would see if it would be possible. To be honest after waiting 45 minutes for our starter and a further 30 for our main course, we didn't think we were being demanding. We won't be rushing back again. Food was alright but overall pretty mediocre and would have appreciated being told there was a long wait time especially when in advance we had been told our table had to be vacated after two hours but we were still eating at that time because of the slow service.

Cold dry burger same with chicken . Salad dressing didn't go with the fish . Drinks were OK Service provider ok but not rushed off their feet. Total waste of money will not return.

We absolutely loved it here. We had afternoon tea and we’ve recommended it to all our friends it was so good! Everything was home made and absolutely delicious. The place was so interesting as well! Can’t wait to return! Thank you so much.

A good country pub for a meal, wide choice of menu, staff service a credit to management. Large off road parking available, and space to eat inside or outside in good weather

Went for an early dinner before catching the train. The bar staff provided a friendly welcome. I had reserved and noted a wheat allergy (there was no coeliac or gluten option). When we went to order the food we were told they couldn’t guarantee anything was gluten free as the kitchen was small. If the website said as much, rather than give allergy options, we wouldn’t have booked. We parked at the car park next to the back of the pub and it looked grubby, overflowing with rubbish. The bar smelt of rubbish; a smell which lingered. We had to eat as I had a long train journey. I had the massaman curry. It was quite tasty but the meat was stewing steak, so I imagine it was re-heated. I then felt sick for all of my 4 hour journey home. My partner had Pad Thai which she said was nice. Overall, it felt quite unpleasant to be there and not relaxing at all. The staff were nice though which is why the review isn’t lower.
