Food and service ok, but far too expensive. One thin slice of cheese and ham on a cheddar and ham ploughman's meal ? Salad out of a bag ?. Joke at their prices.

Average and VERY expensive Most expensive cod and chips I have ever had. I understand that the prices have risen dramatically. Only visit if your not needing great food and have money to burn.

Well the girlfriend enjoyed her vegetarian meal , but my cod and chips was more like a kids meal and not that good , very un imaginative, all very simple and basic - WHY chunky chips with everything .... basic pub grub is my opinion ..

Recently moved to Felixstowe & went to the Ferry Boat with a few neighbours for a, ‘Pensioners’ lunch. The food was good, the staff lovely & friendly which made for a very pleasant occasion. We’ll be back!

Best Sunday roast I have had for a very long time when eating out. Everyone from our party enjoyed their Sunday Lunch. Staff very friendly too. Their fish n Chips are also the best too. I would recommend checking them out after a nice stroll down to the Ferry.

Out for a walk in Felixstowe on Friday eve and got a little peckish, popped in here for a drink and a quick bite. The dog was welcome so it worked for us, staff were very welcoming and service was quick. Ordered a couple of small plates and some nachos.. All was good and would definitely pop in again.

Went for a pub lunch with friends on a Monday in May. Sat outside. Friendly staff. Had fish and chips. Very satisfactory. We had the “smaller”portions and these were quite adequate for under £10 each. Worth a visit.

Very impromptu visit so we hadn’t booked. They managed to find a table for us however and as soon as the kitchens opened they got our orders in. The food was absolutely delicious and cannot be faulted - wide range on the menu and a very extensive and varied specials menu with classics aswell as something a bit different. We had 3 courses each (2 people) and a couple drinks each for just under £100 so reasonable prices too. Unfortunately the delicious food was let down a bit by what sounded like a private function in the back room. This itself would have been fine if it wasn’t for all the children from this function stomping up and down the corridor and screaming so loudly I actually couldn’t hear a word my partner said and left with a headache. Not sure if this is the norm but do feel the staff could have mentioned to the family’s that the corridor isn’t a playroom - especially since the toilet is right off this corridor. I have an injury to my foot and nearly got knocked down by running children. Definitely on the parents and not the venue but unsure if this is the norm for there. Chairs quite uncomfy and tables very low but honestly the food and service outshone it all. Would definitely return.

Took my father out for his 90th birthday to the Ferryboat Inn. We found an outside table and ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and a bowl of chips for my veggie wife as there was no other options at the time. The food was good but not worth the £37 bill 🤬🤬. Not wanting to disappoint my father I just reluctantly paid it. One and only time. Beware !!!

We decided to take a trip to Felixstowe this morning, even though it was raining. We walked past the golf course and seeing the Ferryboat was open we managed to get a table. On seeing the menu we decided to have lunch. The experience was very good. My wife loves a Sunday roast and the beef she ordered was well cooked and presented. I had smoked haddock and mash, the portion size was very generous and I finished the lot. The staff were so friendly and are a credit.

This is a quaint pub where you can sit inside, outside or on the green. It is at the end of a pleasant walk and next to the ferry.Main disappointment was the fact they didnt serve food between 14.00-15.00 which was the time we were there, so had to eat packets of crisps! Otherwise a nice traditional pub.

My partner and I visited on Saturday afternoon (16/3/19) for lunch. We have been here a few times before, it's a nice spot. Gets very busy in the Summer but not too bad at this time of the year. Was really looking forward to lunch and we both ordered 'shredded' duck with noodles/salad etc. It was awful! The duck was dried and hard, the noodles soggy and there was no flavour, It was served with hoisin sauce but i had to ask for more (which came in a small dish without a spoon!). It was a bland awful meal and at £15 each not at all worth it. I left pretty much 2/3 of mine, my partner ate slightly more but both plates still had a substantial amount of food on them. However, the person collecting the plates (who also delivered them) did not ask if everything was ok which was surprising considering how much was left. Also worth noting, whilst we realise that the pub is dog friendly, there was an incredibly noisy dog at the table next to ours, it's owner was doing her best to control him by holding him on the chair with her, whilst at the same time trying to eat her meal. It was ridiculous, he was yelping and struggling, and it wasnt a very pleasant or relaxing atmosphere at all. We are not anti dogs but at least they should be under control. I doubt we will be going back to the Ferryboat again now and at over £40 for 2 poor quality meals, one water and one pint of beer just isnt good vfm. Intersting that you pay for food before you order!!

The food was superb although a little pricey but brilliantly cooked. The food was lovely taste and can not be faulted in any way. Great array of Specials and as expected mainly Fish based. Cask Ales and opportunity to try a small sample of each - at a charge. The Service was quick and polite. View of the yachts moored, good parking but may be difficult during the Summer period.

Delicious food. The tomato soup was excellent and hot. Restaurants often don't heat soup sufficiently. A very extensive menu and it would be impossible for the fussiest person not to find something they liked. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly. Curries tasty without being too spicy. Friendly and efficient service. Plenty of parking.

We were a party of 5 for and evening meal and all of our main courses were around the £18 mark, which we felt was a bit steep for the location.

We visited this inn about once every three months because they served good food at a reasonable price. However, on our last visit today, we found that the prices had risen by 25% ! Fish and chips, sausage and mash and most dishes cost over £15 each. We settled for a basic baguette with 6 chips for £8 each. The customers behind and in front of us also could not believe how much the prices had risen! We will not be visiting again. We will try the other local cafe's instead.

Stayed here for the Easter Break from good Friday till the Monday. Such a lovely feel to this hotel. The food on Saturday evening was to die for we had our friends join us and all had Beef Wellington and all agreed the best one we have ever had ! Second time staying at this hotel and would definitely go back as staff and management are lovely.

We took advantage of an unexpectedly sunny Sunday to take a friend in a wheelchair for a stroll on the prom and brunch at the Alex — where we knew there was an accessible loo, should it be needed. Our order included a vegan breakfast, muffin and poached eggs and smoked haddock fishcakes, plus cake. All were good, fresh and well-cooked. Hats off to the chef who perfectly poached those eggs. The staff were friendly and professional and went out of their way to help us with wheelchair manoeuvring. The place feels well-run.

Over-priced food - an unbelievable £4.75 for a stodgy, tasteless cheese scone with one pat of hard, cold butter. Only managed to eat half of it, really unpleasant, threw the rest away. The cakes were not covered and crawling with flies. Sandwiches even more over-priced at £8.25 for a small cheese sandwich with white bread. This cafe used to be so much better. Will drive past in future and not stop here.

Ver disappointed. Two young girls on duty who were indifferent to our questions. We sat down and neither came to ask if we needed drinks before ordering. There was only one other family in the restaurant. Left without ordering. Have been before with better results but not happy with the lack of service.

Called in for a meal here on a week night. We were told to book, but really didn't need to as there were only 6 other people in at the time we were there. The food was excellent, as was the service, but the room we ate in was very tired and in need of refurbishment. That said, we would return for the good food.
