The Brewery Tap in Peterborough

This place is honestly my favourite restaurant in Peterborough, no exaggeration! The food is always spot on, everything is hot, fresh and service is always good too. The lunch menu is the best, my recommendation is the Yellow Thai Curry (vegetarian) Thai fries are a must and the Dim Sum is always spot on. I've been going here since a kid with my mum and the food has always continued to stay the same in the best way. The chefs are amazing. Thank you so much for your amazing food!

Food arrived latwr tah originally suggested and was cold. Not great.

Waited over 2 hours ordered just after 6pm picked up from brewery tap at 6.20 confirmed by them, 8.15pm message to say delivered but nothing recieved!!! First and last time using just eat. Absolute rubbish, driver apparently Pablo C ? Hope you enjoyed it

I would say the portions seems smaller then if you ate in, The price is higher using the delivery platform/service

We go at least twice a month and have be going to the Brewery for over 20 years, but have not been on a Monday for quite some time. This meal was well below par and it somewhat put a damper on our evening. Pork neck was tough and the sauce very watery - some flavour and heat but very disappointing. Coconut chicken was over cooked (possibly re-heated), with a small amount of flavourless none creamy sauce. Portion size was also a bit on the small size (amount of Chicken). Thai fries and beer - all good! Note: generally the standard is high and the dishes very consistent.

Great place to go Saturday for a boogie

Brutally understaffed on a Sunday lunchtime, stood at a not-very-busy bar for over 15 minutes before being served - so much for popping in for a quick drink. Screams of underinvestment, with just two bar staff on (one of which was AWOL for the entire time), missing drip trays, peeling seats, etc.

The Thai food is AMAZING and the beers are good! Great spot to fuel up before the train.

We love this place....great food and good value for money. The team are always friendly and create a lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you love the Asian cuisine as the menu offers variety and spectacular flavours.

Great food and great beer. Thai food + Beer. What a combo. If you have the chance drop in and give the place a go. The Thai fries and prawn crackers are delightful as a snack to go with your drink. There is a small beer garden but if you are looking to spend your time outside try their sister bar and restaurant across the city called Charters.

The Brewery Tap is a pub with its own microbrewery and a Thai style restaurant. The place is large with an ample seating area on two floors. We were looking forward to authentic Thai cuisine based on the many positive reviews. First negative point – the table top was sticky and the menus were also sticky as well as dog-eared. We went for the lunchtime specials – vegetarian yellow curry and massaman beef curry. The servings turned out to be small and were served in tiny bowls filled to the brim along with rice and prawn crackers; this makes it to eat. The beef dish first – not enough sauce/fluid, making it dry. I ended up eating dry curry and dry rice. No idea how fresh it was; I suspect that it was pre-made and then nuked. To top it off – it was sweet. The yellow curry – mainly potatoes and onions. Thais do not eat potatoes; there were none of the vegetables that normally go into a Thai curry. It tasted as if the sauce had just been poured over the potatoes, sweet as well. On a positive note – the pint that I had was drinkable with a decent hop taste. In summary – disappointed, mediocre quality, expensive for what you get and definitely unauthentic. We came in all excited and full of anticipation and left disappointed. Will not be back. This experience has finally put me off eating out altogether; I would rather have bread and cheese at home.

Visited on Saturday, did not try the food here but ate at a sister venue East which was excellent. Good choice of drinks, good music and atmosphere.

One of the best places for Thai food in the country. Service is always outstanding and the food is consistently fantastic. Pork belly, crispy prawns, stir-fried noodles, and basil rice are always highlights.

The food here was lovely, maybe a little greasy for me, but nice and spicy and a good variety for vegans and veggies. Its a bit drab eating downstairs, I have always been upstairs to eat before, which is a bit nicer. We had a random switching off and on light just near our table, which was incredibly annoying. Service both at the bar and the table was really good, staff chatty and friendly.

Stumbled across the Brewery Tap due to a delayed train. Paid £3.50 for a lovely pint and have some lovely Thai food for lunch. Would highly recommend.

It's been years since I was last here and fortunately, the food is still fantastic. Spacious interior, good service and an extensive Thai menu....and the food was excellent. Well worth a visit if you are a fan of Thai food.

Popped in with my son, lovely atmosphere, great beer. When my daughter in law and grandaughter(4) turned up we ordered food which was really good. Service really good, will be back.

This pub/tap can probably provide just what you need at different times of the day. Cracking ale from the onsite brewery, lazy afternoons, late nights, just enjoy.

Popped in on a Monday afternoon, so obviously not in full swing. However, you can see the potential for a great night. Food looks good, the brewery aspect is all on show, range of comfortable seating and an attractive interior. Nicely done.

This is a great pub for a night out but the only reason why I’ve given 3 stars is they need to get the bar staff sorted. I waited on average 20 minutes at the bar waiting for a drink. You get ignored if they know the person next to you even when you have been there a lot longer.

Went in with my bother to get a drink before my train. Two what I assume are friends pushing each other into us. We ask them to stop, then turn their attention to us, we go to leave guy follows us outside swings on us 5 times (bouncer tries to control but still allowed 5 punches to be thrown) He’s trying to start on us we’re trying to walk away, not good, felt like the bouncers knew the guy and wanted us to go rather than him. Peterborough as a whole has gone to the absolute scrap heap, the people, the bars and the atmosphere is just nowhere anyone in their right mind would want to be. I hate to think that the city of my birth has gone to this. Disgrace.

Absolutely amazing food, we were a little disappointed that it wasn't table service, however this didn't take it away from the food, staff were really friendly.

We had the Set Menu C. The food was like warm at best. One course we had to send back because it was actually cold. Two of our party of four have been ill today. It used to be really good in there so not sure what’s going wrong now.

Put the order through about an hour before it was required and requested an approximate delivery time. It seemed that the courier was at the restaurant for a very long time before being able to pick up the food - although cannot be sure if the courier just went offline or if indeed they were waiting for the order at the restaurant. Don't know but when the food finally arrived - it was barely warm and soggy. £33 wasted and no customer service number to ring to query anything. Won't bother ord

Eat here regularly. I love the food and the staff are great. It's not as clean as it could be but I will continue to visit.

Excellent meal last night. Really good value for money, fresh and a great taste. We had a table of 4 which was a lot of food with Starters, Mains and sides but it all arrived at the same time piping hot and well presented. Good selection of Ales and excellent service too 🙂

I really enjoyed the food here. We were a group & ordered shared vegetarian platters & the selection looked so good & tasted even better. For the main I had sweet & sour veg with egg fried rice which I also enjoyed. The atmosphere had little to do with the place itself & more to do with some of the guests which is the reason why I've only given 3 stars!

I’ve not had food from The Brewery Tap in years, the food is as good as I remember. Hot when it arrived and on time.

Very disappointed . We ordered and paid for drinks and food at the bar for our 7.30 reservation for 6 people at 9 pm had drinks but no food. When we asked told by waiter oh has gone through now. Meaning we had sat for 1 hour+ before the kitchen got our order. Some of the starters were stone cold. Worryingly pork ribs so we could not eat them. Waiyer when eventually cleared our table offered to return them to the kitchen to heat them ? Not a sorry nor an apology for the delay or cold food. Main courses were nice but evening was ruined by then. We ordered more drinks asked to pay before they were given to . No gesture of apology reduction for inedible starters. Will not visit again. Staff need customer service training. Too busy folding napkins to realise customers were waiting for food that the kitchen knew nothing about. !!

Assorted appetiser Bang bang prawns Pork pad Thai Mixed vegetables in oyster sauce ◦ Pancake rolls weren’t crispy ◦ Dry prawns in a bland coating. ◦ Unseasoned chicken wings, ◦ Chewy pork in the Pad Thai, like very chewy and not nice at all. ◦ Cabbage in the vegetable dish was like school dinner cabbage -Wet and stringy Positives ◦ Friendly staff ◦ Ready on time for collection ◦ Flavour of pad Thai was ok This is all very surprising because, I’ve had takeaway from here several times and it’s always been fine.

Brewery tap is consistently in the top three restaurants in Peterborough for the last 17 years. Friendly staff, comfortable, spacious and good setting. Great selection of food and drink - food is fantastic every visit. Our go to restaurant for couples and family.

Food is great, the night time gets very busy but great night life.

We were a group of 7 looking to grab a bite to eat and waste an hour or so. We ordered drinks and then a large selection of starters from the menu as we wanted an informal lunch to just have picky food on the table. The food came out quickly and tasted great. Everyone was polite and the drinks also good. The prices are also very reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

Here, at their Peterborough "outlet", you can get a variety of their ales on tap - though not as many as one would wish (5 or 6 taps I saw). Also, other pubs sometimes offer Oakham beers at lower prices - what's the deal with that? Anyway, seating is plentiful and comfortable inside, while the outside seating area is fairly basic. I found the service to be generally friendly and efficient, and the food (Thai!) is good and not too expensive. There's a happy hour on food, too. So, The Brewery Tap is a pretty and good pub overall, but to this cask ale lover it's not everything it could be.

Refused to play anything from the Shrek soundtracks. Apparently, they only play "Urban music" which is basically a fancy way of saying "Noise Pollution" 0/10

Just went for a drink midweek but it had a nice vibe, served very quickly and the staff were really nice! It looks like they do good food as well, interesting selection of Thai sounding dishes. Good vibes, good price.

We’ve been drinking and eating in the Brewery Tap for years now but have never left them a review. The food is amazing, Asian influenced and cooked to perfection. The choice of drinks will not disappoint, especially the Oakham Brewery Ales who are this year celebrating their 30th anniversary, and the staff are always so helpful, professional and friendly. Today we were looked after by Aziza, a truly wonderful lady and a huge asset to the team. We love the Brewery Tap and will visit many more times

Way beyond perfect There are a vast number of well kept beers. The pub is dog friendly and the lovely lady at the bar brought over some water for Tess without asking. The thai food is utterly delicious and eye-poppingly cheap. About the best thing In Peterborough!!!

Brilliant Oakham beers and Thai food.

Came for a nice drink at the Brewery Tap for a birthday. Would have stayed longer but was put off for a few reasons. 1) when asking what the local beer was, the barmaid was obviously confused and claimed Madri was a local beer. 2) Kids running around not supervised by an adult, it's a large place so even trying to find a quiet corner wasn't possible. 3) there was a chap there clearly drunk and falling asleep at table. Staff did nothing to remove him, he was refusing to leave. So we left as it didn't feel like staff had that under control. Definitely wouldn't return or recommend. This was a quiet Monday night so really made it an uncomfortable experience.

Food was amazing and the service was second to none. Credit where credits due. Our server was very helpful in helping us choose our meals and her recommendations were fantastic. Would definitely recommend a visit. Outside impressions do not do this place justice and if you wasn’t looking for it you could walk past without a second look

Aziza was incredible!! She served me and my friends and was a great laugh! Very attentive and considerate. At one point I was literally dripping with sweat in my chilli beef and she ran over with the live saving serviettes to dab my soggy brow!🤩 10/10 she is an absolute credit.

I visit this place quite regularly, mainly for a beer in the evening. They have 4 Oakham cask beers on and generally 2 or 3 guest ales. The 4 stock Oakham beers are all light and quite samey, and to be honest, are a bit "marmite" as in you'll like them or loathe them in which case go for one of the guest ales. On Fridays and Saturdays at around Around 8.30 to 9 pm the music volume is really cranked up to a point you can't hold a conversation which is a shame as it's not busy at this time, the people who want that don't start to come in until after 10 pm. The venue itself is spacious and pleasant, staff generally are great although the weekend male staff do target serving the girls before the guys regardless of how long you might have been waiting (very frustrating). I have eaten here quite a few times and the food has always been good and freshly cooked.

The Brewery Tap is a local institution- Oakham Ales owned it serves many of their ales including Green Devil on keg. The Thai food has always been great - served quickly so good for a hearty work time pub lunch. Has a decent back room you can hire for events, and the pub becomes a bit of a nightclub at weekends with local DJs playing. A big airy pub - no tvs if that’s your thing.

We were served by Aziza and she made our night! Such amazing customer service. As usual we had amazing food and will 100% be going back there

oh dear.. overated thai food.. shody and rushed service. found a buncle in my starter, when i complained they laughed. the windows need a good clean and the floor is sticky, makes me want to wipe my feet on the way out. i have since been back when drunk and it was a great night out.

Been here three times for lunch, a lovely & clean atmosphere! I ordered a spare ribs & green curry for starter and main. Been unwaveringly tasty every time and the presentation makes it all the more mouth-watering. Ideal to go start of the week, quiet and relaxing. Defo a best seller!

Went for a meal with friends on a Friday night. The food was ridiculously amazing and the portions were very generous. The atmosphere was great and the tables were spaced so you weren't clustered together. Great music and great vibes. Definitely going again

Long since been fans of this establishment, and after a looooong time between visits, I’m happy it’s still going, and is still Oakham Ales’ BT Visiting my brother, we decided to head somewhere central to eat, and this felt like the obvious choice Beer selection is varied and all kept in top condition The food menu is Thai Fusion with a street food vibe to it. It was fresh and flavourful, with perfect portion sizes There were only a few tables occupied whilst we were there. The two staff serving were welcoming and attentive 2 adults - impromptu lunchtime visit (12:00, just as they’d opened) - midweek - March 2023 - food and drinks

Visited the brewery tap while meeting friends in Peterborough. Great place to stop off with good selection of drinks and lovely Thai food. Excellent open plan venue with great atmosphere.

The food there is amazing! Nice big portion ald light yummy dessert! You cannot order drinks to the table what is not nice. Very long time waiting to order food.

Arrived for a drink after work. Once purchased I was physically ejected from the venue without any reason. Once removed and questioned, I was told it was for wearing shorts. There was no notice displayed regarding a clothing requirement apart from wearing hoodies. Disgusting behaviour from two bouncers that physically removed me from the venue, despite I have worn shorts a number of times before.

Been in here a few times, either for just a drink or to eat. Ate upstairs in the restaurant area on my recent visit. Nice Thai food washed down with Oakham Citra. Good service. Reasonable prices. Good atmosphere. The online booking system works well. A really good venue. The building is a good conversion of an old Labour Exchange. Convenient fir the train station.

Was a lovely pub restaurant food was great service fantastic very relaxing evening with friends who totally enjoyed themselves too ohh and was one of my friends birthday and she got a free dessert brought out with candle and they say happy birthday to her as well great touch will definitely return soon 😀 😊
