The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in East Midlands

Love this place, Staff, venue, atmosphere, food and price all perfect, will be going back here again when in the area. Also a good well kept select of ale. All great.

My wife and I decided to take our Granddaughter to Thorntons. At the front door we were asked if we were going to the shop or cafe area. We said we cafe and they asked us to complete the Covid tracking details. The young lady then said we can go straight through and take a seat. At this stage we were still wearing our face coverings. We were almost seated when a lady approached us and asked us what we were doing. As we were in the cafe area we removed our face covering. She then demanded we walk around the main table to the front. This was very embarrassing as we had to walk in a circle back to the front of the cafe. Although we were in a cafe we were forced to put on our face covering or we will not be seated. This lady was so loud that most of the tables turned to see what was going on. We then decided to leave and go elsewhere. This was no way to treat customers. We did explain that the young lady at the door said we could take a seat but this lady just kept on shouting and demanding that we walk all the way around and go wait and the front entrance. While we always wear face covering and always follow government guidelines it seems like the staff are clueless. Embarrassing us by shouting and treating us like children is totally unacceptable.

Cannot understand the negative revues given. We have visited on several occasions and each time both service and food has been excellent.

We thought we’d have a hot drink and (hopefully) some gingerbread at the Ashbourne Gingerbread Shop when we visited back in August. Having been asked to take a seat, nobody gave us a second glance for five minutes despite the cafe being relatively quiet, so we decided to leave. We couldn’t see any gingerbread on the counter either. Disappointing.

Came on a busy Saturday for lunch. Seated immediately. Great service from Alison. Food well presented and tasty. One best mushroom oatcakes I've ever had.

Visité el Deer Barn Café en Bradgate Park hoy. Está bien, pero hay mucho margen de mejora. En primer lugar, hoy era un día frío, así que queríamos sentarnos dentro, pero este lugar es diminuto por dentro y no hay ni cerca de asientos suficientes, todo sirve de mostrador, muy extraño para el tamaño del edificio. Si no te ayuda el enorme tipo de asientos de la cabina, sácalos, y duplicarías la capacidad de los asientos para esos días de comida menos al aire libre. Tuvimos dos tostadas, ambas con barbacoa de cerdo y queso. Se llenaron muy bien, y el cerdo tirado era agradable. Pero la tostada estaba muy espesa y bastante seca, lo que la hacía menos agradable de comer. Por el precio que normalmente esperarías ver algo más en el plato, un poco de ensalada, o patatas fritas o ambas cosas, pero en este caso, es solo el pan tostado tan relación calidad-precio, no es genial. Teníamos un poco de pastel de chocolate también, estaba seco y comer un pastel seco de un tenedor de madera hace que en realidad sea una experiencia de comer naff, cubiertos de metal habrían ayudado, pero no había manera de alejarse del hecho de que esto era pastel seco. En general, está en un entorno precioso, pero probablemente no volveré a visitarlo pronto, probablemente elegiré uno de los cafés fuera del parque en la entrada de Newtown Linford en su lugar, para comida de mejor calidad por los mismos precios. On the way back north to Codnor we opted to stop at Northampton Services. A decent little service station (and it really isn't that big) that has everything you need for a satisfactory break from motorway tedium. Decent toilet facilities without that weird "inclusive" rubbish at South Mimms as well as all the usual accompaniments you'd expect from a motorway service station, as well as a few you might not. These include a brand called 'Leon' which prides itself on "naturally fast food" and the somewhat more self-explanatorily named 'Fresh Food Cafe.' All in all, it is a seemingly more healthy motorway service station than some of the others you may come across on your travels. As I say, it has its share of unhealthy tat as well, such as McDonalds, and there are also your standard shops (WHSmith) and your traditional overpriced "we've got you over a barrel" petrol station. It also has a postbox on site, which I absolutely love.

Terrible customer service. Brusque and rude. We're given our drinks without our dessert and no mention of it, so I asked. Unkind manner in response. Have been to this place before but not for over a year. Been to cheesecake shop for almost 20 years. Was definitely cheated by the slither of dessert given. No desire to go back there again. My money is just as good as anyone else's - I'll spend it elsewhere.

The standard of coffee leaves a lot to be desired. No crema, little body, less flavour, expensive for what it is Cakes and tray bakes good but overpriced, need to be reduced by 50p. Echoey surroundings, lack of soft furnishings. All round, disappointed.

First time I've been to a Costa The last time I will ever go to one ! Scruffy place,tenner for two coffees now they want £100 because I parked in there car park while I used there services !!!!! My advice avoid Costa like the plague !!!!!

Excellent management and good customer service from the team and the staff who are working very hard! I recommend the place highly!

Awful attitude of the staff - supposed to be open until 4pm but saw a couple get turned away. Notices on the tables saying where you could or couldn’t sit. When the coffee was served the cups were banged down on the table. Shame as the coffee was nice.

terrible service waited nearly 40 minutes for breakfast. when it came it was swimming in grease. One of the waitresses was petty a customer's dog(love dogs) but it was licking her hand and she carried on clearing table after. Tried to use toilet upstairs as that's what we used last visit but a very rude woman said it was now a tanning salon? so go downstairs. Won't be visiting again thanks !!

Fantastic venue for a retirement party. The service from start to finish was excellent. Bar staff were very efficient and there was no queuing even though there were 150 people at the party. Cannot fault the place.
