Terrible customer service. Brusque and rude. We're given our drinks without our dessert and no mention of it, so I asked. Unkind manner in response. Have been to this place before but not for over a year. Been to cheesecake shop for almost 20 years. Was definitely cheated by the slither of dessert given. No desire to go back there again. My money is just as good as anyone else's - I'll spend it elsewhere.

My Wife visited this place today. We wanted two coffees and a piece of cheescake . We had already selected a piece of cheescake from their display , priced at £5.60. As the piece was very large for two people (we are 71 and 74 years old respectively) , we asked the lady to please cut it in half . SHE REFUSED ! So , I asked for a knife to cut it myself . Again SHE REFUSED ! She then told us , that not only could we not have it cut , but that we could'nt eat it inside anyway . Given that THEY had made the cheescake , and that it was in THEIR display cabinet , we could not understand her attitude . They must be doing some roaring trade , to be able to turn customers away in the middle of an afternoon . Needles to say , we left , and spent our £14 VERY close by , where the owners not only served us with coffees and cheescake , but also did it with a professional and friendly attitude !!!!! By the way ......the sign above the shop does NOT say " The Cheesecake Shop " ....but actually says "The Cake Solution" .

Been using their Mapperley branch for around 15 years now and I have never had a bad product from them and I have always had great service and found the staff in general to be very helpful and polite and they are always busy either serving or cleaning. Can't speak for the other branches but 5 stars for Mapperley

We ordered a birthday cake for our child's 18th birthday, plus a second 1/2 cake. The birthday cake was an extravagant and beautiful chocolate delight that was perfectly made and utterly delicious. The second one was lemon. It was light and subtle and so delicious. We will definitely be back.

Very disappointed with our visit. Although the staff were very friendly, there was a distinct language barrier. Just like when you are on holiday, you can get along with some smiles and a few hand signals to get your point across, I think for a ‘cake’ type of establishment in the UK, the staff NEED to understand the phrase “One slice”. After a few frustrated minutes of taking quarters of cakes out of chiller and doing ‘cutting’ motion with our hands and putting up one finger, we got her to understand. And after all that effort, the cheesecake wasn’t up to much either! Won’t be going back.

Why buy a 'pancake' quiche from the supermarket when for the same price you can get deep portions cut to the size you want.

I have visited the Wollaton branch several times with friends and family, but have decided never to go again due to the poor attitude of the staff. The food is okay- nothing special- but some staff members just do not understand how to behave professionally. On a previous visit with my husband, we sat and waited over 45 minutes for warm food, without complaining, and we didn’t receive the drinks that we’d paid for at all. Upon leaving the shop, we mentioned this to the woman at the till and we asked why things had been so slow and why they hadn’t brought us our drinks, but she became quite defensive. She said curtly that they were understaffed on that day, and she offered us our drink money back, but we didn’t receive a smile or an apology or any compensation. I decided to give them another chance with some friends more recently, and I bitterly regret it now. We went to the shop on the Macmillan cancer charity coffee morning, and they were offering various cheesecakes with a tea or coffee for £3.90 (proceeds to Macmillan). As we have children, I sat with the little ones whilst my two friends ordered, and then queued to make my order shortly afterwards (still well within the 11am time limit). I ordered the identical things that one of my friends had, but it was a different lady who was now serving. I was quoted and entirely different price, and said “Oh could I have it as part of the Macmillan coffee morning please?” I was very grumpily and sternly told that the cheesecake I had selected was not on the list of cheesecakes on offer for the Macmillan coffee morning. I hadn’t realised at this point that there was a list of cheesecakes but I said to the lady that my friend had just ordered the exact same thing and had been charged £3.90 for Macmillan- please could I have it for the same price? At this point the server turned her back to me and looked to the other lady who had charged my friend the lower price. The other lady shrugged her shoulders and again rudely said to me that she had only just come on shift and had made a mistake, not knowing that particular cheesecake wasn’t included on the list. I also pointed out that she had served my other friend a Black Forest gateau and a hot chocolate for £3.90 – neither of these was included on the Macmillan list either. I said I thought it was outrageous to treat people differently in that way and I should be offered the same as my friend. With this, my server threatened not to bring my other friend her Black Forest gateau (which they had taken the money for) and I told her that if she did this, it would only make things worse. Presumably she thought she would use peer pressure to influence me. I said that what I thought she should do was serve me the exact same thing that she had served my friend for the exact same price. That would be fair. The woman who had given the lower price just shrugged at me and said, “No, not with your attitude.” At no point had I been offensive or raised my voice. It is her own attitude that she needs to examine more closely. Shortly afterwards we sat and endured the experience of being in the coffee shop whilst my friends consumed their purchases (in shock), and my little boy got upset because we had nothing. When the Black Forest gateau did arrive, I asked to speak to the manager so that I could get contact details to make a complaint. The very same lady who had told me that she had just come on shift and didn’t know which items were on offer now announced that she was the owner and I could complain to her. I told her that I wasn’t going to complain to her as this would be a circular endeavour, and I wanted someone else to complain to. She thrust the head office address and phone number at me. I phoned them on the spot but unfortunately no one answered and of course no one has returned my call since then. This is apparently how the Cheesecake Shop does its business. It strikes me that if that woman is the owner of the shop then she was either being dishonest about not knowing which goods were on offer and had simply taken a dislike to me because I dared to ask for the same treatment as my friends, or she jolly well should know which items are on offer because it’s her shop. Poor Macmillan- they were the ultimate losers here. It’s certainly not going to be a problem for me to use other, better, coffee shops in the area!

Went here as a friend had recommended it to me, I found the whole experience disappointing. We ordered the big breakfast and although we did not have to wait long, when the breakfasts came there was a strange smell of fish coming from the scrambled eggs. When we asked where this smell came from, they said they had cooked salmon .SO they must have used same pan to cook eggs and salmon in, the three breakfasts had to be returned and we got are money back . Would not go back again.

If you haven't visited this place please do so today! Absolutely amazing I have visited this place many many times and I am not even from Nottingham but its definitely worth the drive. Freshly made cake, coffee etc but we go for the cheesecake specially. They are the best you will have and of a great value. We also tried the macaroons which were an absolute delight. There is something for everyone here, they offer a wide range of variety. Staff are wonderful and great service. Parking is available is side streets or pay and display further up the road. Not too far from the city center only a few minutes drive. This is by far my favorite cake shop. Highly recommended. You will walk away with a smile fo-sure!

Popped in for a quick Friday brunch with the wife today, was really impressed with my bacon and eggs (scrambled) with toast, and my Wife's quiche. Sound like it would be simple but presentation and quality make a big difference. Very happy to recommend both snacks. With a tea, a coffee and a tip came to less than £15 which for what you get was good value

I've been here a couple of times, I always order the same thing because nothing els on the menu is that appealing to me due to limited variety of food, there is not that much to choose from at all. The one dish I order is the French toast with syrup and strawberries, it's really a hit and miss with this one depending on what day I come, who is actually in the kitchen. Sometimes my French toast would come out solid like a rock! As if they microwaved it. The plates they serve on is way too small for the portion size and is awkward to eat. The staff seems like robots, cold and unwelcoming. It's a very small cafe, so walking in you expect a "hello" or a "goodbye, thank you" when you leave. Like I said it's a very small cafe and it's just awkward.

Sadly prices increasing portions shrinking and staff a bit off if you don't depart the minute you have finished. We had finished eating and were just finishing drinks when waitress came to clear table saying "oah you finished!!" which we clearly hadn't. so took one part mug and stated I will give you a moment......we gathered we were leaving then and wouldn't be asked if we wanted anything more.

After finishing a placement in the area me and my colleagues drove past this shop and couldn't resist. However the staff were rude, refusing to allow us to eat the cheesecake in their shop, unless we paid a £4 charge! The only food you were allowed to eat there were snacks such as soup. Visited with friends on a Sunday afternoon. Used to visit the Bramcote branch regularly but never visited the mapperley branch. Liked how there was indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of cake available, and cheesecake in particular. I like that there are so many flavours. Also sells lasagne, sandwiches, jacket potato, which you can take away or eat in. Like the other branch, you can buy the cakes to take away in slices, quarters, halves or whole. Eat in is more than take away, but prices were good - £3 for a slice of cake which came on a plate garnished with blueberry sauce, fruit and cream. As I'd remembered, the cake was very much OK. We had drinks. Like the cake these arrived quickly and tasted all right. Good value for money and friendly staff and environment.

My friend and I visit this place about once a fortnight. It has been taken over by new owners/management recently, and the menu has changed - cooked breakfasts are now served until noon (breakfasts weren't served at all before). No main meals now (they used to serve chilli con carne, shepherd's pie, pie and chips, etc). I had a (tiny) jacket potato for £5. A slice of cake is now £4.25 a slice!! The cakes aren't even fresh or baked on the premises. We're going to go to Sprinters instead in future.
