I’ve just left, the service and staff were lovely. I asked if I could charge my phone and the lady with black long hair smiled and offered to put it on charge for me despite it being a step away. She wanted to save me getting up and I thought that was really nice. The staff we full of smiles and I felt so comfortable, I’ll definitely return, thanks guys x

Lovely food but unfortunately not enough broccoli, in fact it was only stalks that I got with my pie and chips. Need to get more chilli con carne for £1.50 with the nachos. The one we had didn't even have fresh chillies as advertised

Went to Inn For A Penny for food and loved it. The recent changes were definitely needed and the owners are clearly trying their best to sort things out. Food was good and great service. Chatted to the new staff and both Colin and Sandra. All very friendly and can't wait to go back

I recently visited Inn for a Penny and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Despite the pub's modern interior and contemporary design, which initially seemed promising, the overall visit fell short of expectations. A larger lady with an undercut and tattoos was working behind the bar. While friendly, her approach was overly familiar and unprofessional. She frequently called me "babe," which felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. To top it off, she asked for my number, which crossed the line from friendly service into something that made me feel uneasy. The beer and spirit selection was decent, but the service overshadowed any positives. If you prefer a more professional and respectful atmosphere, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Good selection of food and good prices. You get a proper plate of food and they do half portions for most items on the menu which is great if you dont have a big appetite. Would defo recommend the chicken curry which they make themselves.

Good pub in general with a great outdoor play area for the kids. The food has improved, my family and I are fans of 2-4-1 burgers on a Tuesday. Service is friendly and prompt.

Visited this pub on various occasions with friends, since the refurb. It is slowly going downhill again, The cleanliness is shocking in the toilets, not one of the ladies had been cleaned and this was 1:30pm. All had stains, floor was filthy, sink hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. We stayed as it’s local to all of us meeting. We went on to order food. For the 3rd time no gammon… how? Then was told not enough chips and we’d have to have fries with our second option .who does the ordering?? Then went to sit outside, the ashtrays were full of cigarettes, not been emptied for days. If this pub doesn’t get its act together it will end up like the old one. Such a shame, when all that money has been spent on it

Food was alright but mine was under cooked

I ordered lasagne with salad and garlic bread, no salad first off. And my food was cremated!! Ok I got a refund, but I have been waiting for months to go in, needless to say I won't be ordering food again.

The place looks nice, there's even darts and a pool table. Only one dart mind you, oh and one cute with a tip, which falls off... and no chalk... and the table's not level. So much potential, but at this point basically terrible. Sort it out!!!

The refurbishment looks excellent. The modern feel and the decking area at the front are excellent.

Saturday night is really a night for women as well. Is always sport till late. Is ridiculous. You could combine music with the screens on as well. Is not fair . Me and my fiance had an argument and next time we will choose Lord Nelson as they have the creens on and music. For everybody. You cannot assume at the prices you sell, that people are happy. If customer happiness is not your goal, you are in the wrong business. Many people think like me and they are not necessarily women. Tables never get cleaned. We have to clean it and wait for the glasses to be collected from previous customers. No attention to detail. Thank you!

Halloumi burger was so good, drinks were nice, excellent service from the staff.

Over the years, this pub has undergone numerous changes, and this time, it's really paying off. The new owner is fantastic.

Pub grub is cool! The staff are super friendly, the food is amazing and made fresh to order, plus the drink prices are not that high in town.

Shocking customer service skills from Chloe ( asked her name from another member of staff as I have never came across bar staff with her type of attitude.)I think management needs to send her on a customer relations course, better still if she doesn’t like her job then find another one, preferably one that doesn’t involve talking to customers, I suggest warehouse work. Will not be going in again nor would I recommend going if she’s working put a bad vibe on the entire night. Shame she lets the team down.

The food is excellent, with a wide selection to choose from, and the staff are always eager to exceed expectations. It's enjoyable to watch sports here, as there's a clear view of the screen from any seat. Undoubtedly the top pub in town!
