Very nice staff and amazing Halloween decorations!

Always greeted with a friendly face. The staff make us feel like family and the food is always top quality. With an artist performing on a Friday & karaoke on a Saturday night the atmosphere is great. Sundays are my favourite day, stickies, Disco bingo & paper bingo. Xxx

After attending hear with my 18 year old neice an other family members tonight I find the elderly male who Co owns this establishment is very rude to the point where he man handle my niece accusing her of bringing her own drinks etc.. even though we had spent a fair few hundred pounds between a family of 10 of us. The elderly male the proceeded to physically removed a drink from a member of our group an poured it away an accusing of her being under age even though they been serving alcohol all night..it seems to me this male wouldn't approach any other male that was in our party but bullied the females within our group

witnessed a young girl being harassed by the 50yr+ owner thrown her drink away and called her derogatory names (slag etc) said she was underage even though they har been serving her alcohol all night (she had her id) thought this was bang out of order many people at the bar had been waiting over an hour even though there was atleast 5 bar staff. a grown male manhandling a young girl is completely out of order she was autistic and she waited over an hour to get served a pint of coke and ended up going to corner shop 2 mins down the road and them they ended up throwing her out for it. the family was more than happy to buy from the bar but as she was autistic she has issues regarding to being hot ( bearing in mind it was over 28 degrees) they have been let down and im so disappointed to see the treatment of the disabled and other customers. wont be returning. worst bar/pub ive ever been to. a absolute disgrace.

Went for Sunday dinner today, it was absolutely gorgeous! Best Sunday roast I've had in ages! Meat was falling apart and tasted amazing! Definitely recommend! The kids dinner was also a very good size for kids and well priced!

Came for Sunday dinner. Absolutely amazing. Massive portions. So much meat all fresh veg and home made roasted and Yorkshire pudding. Will definitely be back again. Thankyou

A fantastic pub with a lovely atmosphere and good priced drinks

My family arranged a surprise party for me in the upstairs room at this venue. What a fabulous room, décor is beautiful, size perfect for 50 to 60 guests. Nice touch was the delicious buffet which came to the tables on cake stands. Food kept coming out so stayed fresh. Price of drinks and room very reasonable. Staff helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Really great experience here at the Nags Head, for the opening England game of the 2023 Six Nations. We came as a large group (12), hoping to find a pub in Carlton within walking-distance of our AirBnB and this was the closest — and they were really welcoming. The people at the bar were really helpful and attentive, and they let us use a side-room for the group of us so that we wouldn’t be too noisy for the other patrons. Good selection of beers, gins, wines, and snacks. They even let us bring in some fish and chips from the nearby chippy.

What amazing people Brian, Louise and their team are. When a community event was rained off, they stepped forward to offer part of the pub for our Jubilee stalls - literally saving the day for our Jubilee celebration. The pub is well laid out and it's obvious to see the customers are very happy.

Great pub, locals are friendly music is awesome and the entertainment is very good. Lots of sport on the tvs and a pool table to have a right laugh. The bar staff are very friendly and always have a smile. Highly recommended regardless if you want a quiet drink or a good catch up. Highly recommended

Had a cream tea with friends this afternoon. It was absolutely brilliant. The food was just amazing, we had a gin tree as well and the staff were fabulous. Would definatly recommend and we will be going back. Thank you Nags Head we loved it.

Weve just taken our son to see santa. And it is fantastic. Santa and his elves were brilliant. Our son loved it. We were there 15 mins and santa told us about the elves and mrs clause. Please take your little one if you can its fantastic. Jude said thank you santa . See you soon xxx

Only moved to Carlton in march so first time in nags head, certainly won't be the last.Lovely gin garden and landlady has done a brilliant job with beautiful plants, looks great can't wait to explore the rooftop!

Wow ! This pub has been transformed All credit to Louise and Brian They can’t do enough for customers. So glad they got new bar staff as when I visited previously before Christmas woman serving talking at end of bar ignored us. Soon rectified by Brian. I have to say I'm totally shocked at a couple of these regative comments about this pub, we have been going in now for a while ourselves and its fantastic you feel at home very friendly landlord/landlady and staff. I've never seen anything like what these comments suggest and some people aren't happy unless there writing bad things and just moaning. Think we should play a game of rearrange the words:God my life oh just get a 🤣🤣🤣

Visited with friends and was a roof top singer on. The atmosphere was fantastic and the pub is very well set up the landlord and landlady were ensuring social distancing was kept and there was hand sanitising stations set up around the pub. Great selection of drinks available and the pub was very clean. Staff were very attentive and polite we all had a fantastic day out highly recommend A*

I visited the nags head on the day of reopening with a few friends I must say I’m really impressed the landlady gave us a warm welcome and took us to our seats then asked us what drinks we would like to order the service was A*.. it was a very relaxed evening and overall I am very chuffed with the hard work they’ve put in also if you’re a gin lover they have a wide selection of gins and tonics which is a bonus 😊

Went in for a drink with my partner, once we got the extremely foul mouthed landlords attention ( spouting the f and c word while women and children around) we ordered 1 and half pint of lager. What we received was far from it. When asked to top up for a full measure we were on the receiving end of abuse, for daring to ask for what we paid for. Noticed some soft drinks were multibuy cans , crisps nibbles from Tesco, being sold individually , how do we know, we saw a customer bring them in and being put on the bar shelf immediately. Bar nibbles are sometimes provided , I witnessed open plates of sausages, roast potatoes placed on the bar, people reaching in and taking them,no gloves, clean hands, forks , plates or serviettes were seen , health and hygiene nightmare. Children are allowed to run around in the bar, and the landlord/lady’s grandson is often behind the bar , screaming and shouting. The only good thing I can say is the landlady puts on good themed things at special times of the year, Christmas etc. I know of a lot of what used to be regulars , no longer go in , because of the above mentioned problems .

My girlfriend and I were there last night at 20:40, the bar staff was rude...the place smelled and had thick cobwebs and BLACK MOLD on the windows and walls!. It was very obvious it needed a deep clean...after the barmaid found some CLEAN glasses, the white wine my girlfriend had was undrinkable and warm... the were only 10 people in the pub before we arrived...Elwood Jake Blues (called the bar to inform them he would be a little late, which they said was not a problem) arrived at 21:25 and set up immediately and began his act...everyone was singing and dancing to him for his first set and it was during his much needed break the landlord said he was going to not pay the full wage because he late arrival had lost the pub business (?)...it was the first time me and my girlfriend (plus another friend) had been to that pub and I spent £30...the three of us increased his business by 30% and he was trying to not pay a professional singer his agreed wages! Up until this point ALL 13 people in the pub were having a good time...the landlady(in her pajamas!) and landlord were very rude, insulting and unprofessional...thats the NAGS HEAD at Carlton for you folks.

Just had a Sunday roast here it was excellent cooked to perfection very friendly staff excellent value for money would highly recommend seriously gives the chain carverys a run for there money we will return cheers guys Pauline Adams

A disgusting place with an obnoxious & rowdy landlord but a better & more understanding landlady, small man syndrome strikes to mind & clearly a place to go if you want a fight as his friends are just as aggressive...

I attended the New Years Eve party at the Nags Head in Carlton and everything about the evening was exceptional. I enjoyed every moment and my friends also agreed that so much effort was put into each aspect of the evening. The buffet was beyond expectations with the most delicious buffet that I have ever had at a public house. The hosts were just fantastic. When I compared other New Years Eve parties held at venues, this one was by far the best. Thank you for bringing 2019 in with an absolutely superb evening.

Visited Santa's grotto, the decoration is amazing and Santa is great with the kids. He spends time talking to them. The waiting room was lovely too with colouring for the kids. The lady that greeted us when we got there was very welcoming. Would highly recommend a visit. Doesn't cost a fortune like most places either.

This pub knowingly allows underage drinking, and allows children to work the bar. The family that run it are really rude, and the place is dirty! Avoid like the plague.

staff always make sure people get to where they need to be (order taxis, ask relatives etc) even late at night always make sure I find a bed

Very friendly hosts. They really connect with their customers. Everybody receives a warm welcome. The pub has been well decorated and is very clean, including the toilets. Friday and Saturday nights are great fun.
