Had quite a few meals at the flower shop. Most are ok good enough. But a few have been absolutely awful 😞 like a dried up breakfast sausage and bacon that could only have been from the previous day, so crusty you could not eat them. Sunday dinner two weeks ago the chicken was great but the roast potatoes were terrible. I think they weren’t real! Burnt old rubber things you could never eat. I did complain but it went on deaf ears no sorry nothing. I think the kitchen needs some basic lessons. It’s so disappointing when you look forward to a roast and it’s inedible

The staff are nice enough and the food comes quickly but the cake is ALWAYS stale!!!!!!!! And they never give you tap water even if you have order another drink and just need something refreshing! All in all it’s not the worst place in the world

Been a few times over the years, food is always nice, but the service has declined in my opinion. I'm writing this after my partner and I went in for a drink. We went to sit down when a member of the waiting staff asked if we'd booked a table to which we replied no. She then said we could go to the table we were already half way sat down on. She then immediately asked us what we wanted when we'd had about 1 second to even think about looking at the menu. I said could we have a minute which she looked annoyed about. Furthermore she then went to her colleague, clearly said something about us and then her colleague looked over at us. The whole thing was just bizarre and made us feel uncomfortable so we left and went elsewhere. This is the latest and most extreme episode of my visits. I won't be hurrying back.

A lovely place for drinks and food. We had a meal today which was top class very nicely presented and so tasty. Service and staff were very polite and friendly. I would highly recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant

Came first thing and had a breakfast. It came out really quickly and was ok. Although the bacon was black, had black bits on and tasted more like charcoal than bacon. We never had a check back so I couldn't raise it unfortunately. Service was poor. I had to get up twice to ask for another drink and for our table to be cleared, whilst two of the girls were stood at the other side of the bar chatting away. The manager overheard me ask if we could get our table cleared and the bill, and I did say we'd been waiting quite some time. He didn't seem at all bothered or surprised. The table's are small so two empty plates and empty coffee's don't leave any room. I can't say I'll be back in a hurry. There's much better out there.

Very polite and helpful staff,plenty of places to sit,lovely selection of breakfast items and a decent pot of tea.The atmosphere was welcoming and an enjoyable place to sit and eat.

Service is usually good. Poor today. Left us sitting there, after clearing our main course....... No offer of dessert, or coffee. Staff just avoided looking our way & some just stood chatting behind the bar. It had become much less busy so there was no excuse. We won't rush back.

Lovely and busy place, excellent for breakfasts and with a good range of choices. The food is excellent and the service is good. It has a lovely private garden area if you want to enjoy the sunshine.

Turned up for food on Sunday without a reservation, was greeted with a smile and shown a table both the drinks and the vegetarian roast we both had was very nice and the service was efficient and polite.Best food for the money on Mapperley top.

Visited The Old Flower Shop recently, and it’s easily one of the best bars I’ve been to in Nottingham. The ambience is fantastic—warm, inviting, and with just the right amount of buzz. It felt busy but never overcrowded, which made for a really comfortable evening. The drinks were spot on, and the place attracts a lovely crowd, which only added to the great vibe. It’s got that kind of vibe where you could easily imagine a small indie artist playing in the corner. I think it would be brilliant if they occasionally hosted live performances; it would fit the atmosphere perfectly and make an already great spot even better. If you’re looking for a place with a great atmosphere and good company, The Old Flower Shop is definitely worth a visit.

Nottingham best breakfast, definitely everyone should visit

Very nice, quiet and comfortable. Bakewell cake is delicious!!

Has nice healthy selections, cocktails and wine bar. Attracts a better clientele than pubs do. Mapperley needs more places like this 🍸

Came here for breakfast with my son. I didn't make a reservation but there was still plenty of space. I'd recommend making one if a pre-planned visit. The food came out quickly and was very tasty and reasonably priced. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really nice place for a tasty lunch

Cocktail was amazing. However the Panna Cotta was solid with way to much gelatin. Shame as the sorbet and fruits it came with were good. Staff gave a full refund immediately as if aware it was made wrong.

Had alot of roasts all over Nottingham & this one tops them all! First time eating here today, lovely staff, HUGE portions & all cooked to perfection. We had 2 trios of roasts & couldn’t find a single fault! Same time next Sunday!

food not cooked to temperature. chips just warm, belly pork just warm , and chicken just warm. sent it back. when it came out again, chips hot, belly pork hot. but chicken still warm on outside and cold in middle. they took the chicken off and 20%discount of the bill.

Strongly recommend this place for breakfast. Lovely atmosphere & the staff are amazing, super friendly & personable. Special mention to Calum for always squeezing us in & giving the warmest of welcomes. Also, the delightful Neve & Chantelle, both go above & beyond & always make us feel special. Hubby reckons the full English is the best this side of town & value for money at less than £10. xx

Ducking out of the February rain for my first visit,quick lunch with an old friend.Spot on Tapas with a coffee really nicely buzzing atmosphere great service (grace under pressure).Lost of very good competition on this street.....Accept no substitute!

Sharing starter was very nice. Nice steak although the steak was undercooked for a medium well, and I got a sauce I did not ask for...I suspect they mixed us up with an order on next table..didn't stop me eating it and I can do a medium rear steak, the peppercorn sauce was delicious, the chips were very dark and its was a love hate conversation across the table. low score on atmosphere as the pub was very loud but it was a Friday evening

We do love coming here for lunch . Just notice the portions getting tiny and not enough. The food is desent. But don't come hungry eat something at home before hand. We ordered the chicken and sea food paela and the portion was maybe 40 gr cooked rice one peice of little chicken 5 mussels and 3 fried squeed. My mum enjoyed it but I left hungry .

I loved my first visit to The Old Flower Shop. The food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was very chilled. I ordered a hot chocolate with cream and Marshmallows which tasted amazing and for food I had a cheese and ham omelette it was so good and filling. Highly recommended place to have a chilled lunch or brunch.

Frequently visit with my partner or one of my four daughters. Never been disappointed with anything. The food is consistently excellent. The staff are lovely. See you guys in the New Year! Liz, Adam and family

Very busy, seemed like staff unable to cope with amount of customers due to slow speed of servics. Long wait for taking order and paying the bill. Food was okay, but probably won't be back unfortunately

We had the Christmas dinner here last night really enjoyed it value for money the turkey dinner was nice and big plenty of meat Also had the fish cakes starter again really nice then came the Christmas pudding Service was great no rush to get us away from the table

My daughter asked for no mayonnaise on her lunch. But before she realised she had eaten one sandwich she left the rest i pointed this out to a waitresses and she was charged %50 off the meal price which i think its not acceptable she ate one quarter of a full sandwich As my daughter paid for all i did not make a fuss. But it has put me off from going back for a while

You would think that is not that hard to cook an English breakfast. The bacon was bitter and covered in black and I can only asume that the chef is not cleaning his grill very often, the eggs were uncooked and the coffee just avarage. I mentioned this to the girl serving us and she just said "oh, I am sorry to hear that and she left". We paid £35 for 2 coffees 2 English and water.

First time here. Sat near the bar. The side door was open and the smell of smoke was to much. Staff was down the ally smoking!!! When they came back in they didn't wash their hands. The smell of smoke.... even the cook went for a smoke and then walked through the cafe smelling of smoke. This is not acceptable in this day and age. When we asked for the door to be closed we just got blank looks..... not very friendly..... so sad as im sure the owners would not be happy with this.... not side if we would come beck.

First time here don't think we'll be back nice place quite busy we didn't book but table for two was sorted Table cleaned , drinks ordered and came quickly lasagne x2 ordered the wife's looked over cooked to dry white sauce none there sent back exchanged for burger this was not much better asked for the bill and not charged for the meal Happy with that waiting staff lovely

First time back in a while. Lots of food options have been removed from the menu so leaves you with minimal options. I ended up having a starter which was very nice but not really what I was looking for. It was for my husbands birthday & I really wanted one of the lovely pizzas but they were no longer available 🫥😕

We had fishcakes( 1 was on the dry side)+ 1 portion on fries Squid +1 portion of fries (Cheese and marmalade onion bloomer sandwich with a cheese scone + americano coffee for £10) brilliant value. Popped in for coffee and a breakfast. I must say the service was excellent, the staff so abliging, the food faultless, I'd go as far to say the bacon is possibly the tastiest leaves I've have ever had, well done to all but especially to the Manager and the Cheif, will be back. 5 Stars to all..

Had roast beef Sunday dinner 2.7.23. Great dinner, but beef was not pink as advertised. Pretty chewey tbh. Service was 10 out of 10.
