Not open when advertised. Can’t be anything worse than that. We made arrangements to meet here for a birthday drink with friends. On the upside, Copper Bar is under new ownership and we had a good time there instead.

Really disappointed and wouldn’t go back. Food was rubbish and a waste of money and staff were …. Fine but felt like we were a burden and they couldn’t be bothered. Shame for such a good location. Wouldn’t recommend.

Saw the on-line menu so went for Sunday lunch but on arrival there were only pizzas available so didn't partake. Apart from the barman we were the only two there for the hour we were there, although a couple, who had booked for lunch turned up, but left having seen the lack of food choice. Our bottle of wine was nice and the conversation with the barman was pleasant. There are no disabled wherlchair access toilets now and access to the upstairs was cluttered with items on the staircase. Complete oposite contrast to The Wine Room.

Went for cocktails only. Nice vibe, bi folding frontage for indoor extending to outdoor seating and balcony upstairs. Upstairs lively vibe and downstairs relaxed / chilled. Nice decor and friendly bar staff 🍸🥃

Very small place. Bad wine. It was expensive for bad wine 🍷 We didn't eat there, so no rating for food.

We popped in for lunch today and we were the first to arrive. The manager soon made us feel welcome and was very friendly. We placed an order for some small plates and paid for food and drinks. We waited quite a while considering we were the only ones in at the time and we started to wonder where our food was. It then came to light that the food order had not been sent to the kitchen so we had to start the order from scratch again. By this point we were quite hungry, the manager offered us a free drink each and complimentary bread and dips whilst the chef went to prep the food. This was a nice gesture considering the blip but again we had to ask a couple of times where the bread and dips were and they happened to come out as the last dish, it would have been nice as promised to have whilst we waited for our food. I would recommend the patatas bravas, pork belly and the beef tacos were really nice. I liked that the breads were served warm as well. I wasn't keen on 1 of the dips or the gambas pil pil.

New Year’s Eve ruined. Advertised 3 course meal & disco. When arrived meal was not on. & they were very chaotic although not overly busy. Normal menu which consisted of ‘anything in batter’ or breads. Nothing healthy- and then not all foods available. Particular Wine not available although on list- this is The Wine Room? Disco- a DJ playing R&B of his own taste which didn’t entertain anyone. We left by 9:30!!!! Had been invited to a party- should have gone. Extremely disappointed as been supporting this venue since it opened. Will not be keen to rush there again and especially for a new years Eve.

Marie gave us the best service and made sure we had a great time down to the last minutes!! Love the Wine Room xxxxx

We booked bottomless brunch for New Year’s Eve at 7pm, despite them only offering bottomless brunch until 6pm, they made an exception due to the occasion. It was great, the service was quick, special shout out to Marie who gave us free shots at the end of our visit and waited on us attentively throughout our visit. We will definitely be visiting again!

Having seen and heard good reviews we booked dinner. Booking was very simple. The menu wasn’t huge but appeared to have a good gluten free options as my wife is coeliac. On arrival we were taken to our table. Wine menu was provided, all bottles averaging £30. So we placed our order. When the gentleman came to take our food order we were told that three main options, steak, lamb and pork sewers we not available. Therefore not leaving much to order on gluten free. No steak on a Saturday at 7pm!! We were told they had fish on gf! This is a positive as not many places have gluten free battered fish. When the order was placed and the cutlery was bought out to us we were asked “is this knife ok”! We both ended up with a sad plate of fish and … supermarket frozen fries. We weren’t asked if we wanted and condiments, not salt and pepper on the table either. We were not even asked if we wanted water or another drink or dessert. Couldn’t wait to get out and will not be going back. All in all a expensive disappointing evening.

We attend the wine room for food in the evening. Its a tapas type menu at this time. Obviously, I looked at reviews online and checked out the menu. All seems good. Some good reviews and ratings. So I ordered chicken balls, bravas, bread and squid (to share between two people). The prices below are indicative of the menu. The bread was a bit stale and only had 5 pieces and cost £5. The chicken balls were one chicken breast cut into 4 with a tempora batter. This cost £9. The Bravas was served in a ramekin dish and was tiny £8. Tasted lovely. The squid was more conventional in size and couldn't fault it for the price either. Think it was about £7. Also very tasty. So I guess my review would be its an expensive place to eat for what could be classed as bar snacks in other places.

Four of us went to the Wine Room for a bottomless brunch. The service was great, and staff were very attentive. The food was also very nice! We would definitely visit the Wine Room again!

It's a no from me. Service is abrupt and not welcoming, I was told and heard practically everyone that came in after me to "hold on a minute" when I walked in and said hello. Usually the reply is hello back. The manager/owner I think is on a little bit of a power trip, and I felt awkward listening to him dishing out orders to his young staff team, which was constant. I also heard him recounting the issue also reviewed here where a poor girl was compared/described as "The yellow power ranger" and "Chun Li". If you're the manager and you're reading this, here's a humble invitation to develop your sense of self awareness as a result of that review, not talk to other customers about how shocked you are that the girl didn't appreciate your comments. No, those comments are not ok, no it wasn't a compliment for her. The clientele is mainly the aging cronies of Mapperley so I am not surprised to see an overall high rating here. It won't suit you if your tastes are a little more refined. Onto the food. It's clearly frozen produce/out of packets. The halloumi sticks are £7 for 4 reformed, battered frozen sticks on lettuce and it's not hard to make your own alioli, which this wasn't. The beetroot salad is large but also clearly out of a packet, unless a team of highly skilled chefs are being paid to uniformly cut carrots into matchstick size pieces. The sourdough was stale and £3 a pop. The other food that was coming out also looked pretty mediocre. The thing is none of it tasted bad, so I left with a full tummy but did feel wholly ripped off for the price. Bring up the standard or drop the price by half. Also heard the manager complaining about: - other customers - staff - the landlord - how busy it will be on Sunday - wishing he was in Europe somewhere. It's just not a vibe. Avoid.

Good two for £11 cocktails offer. Less good was being called Chun Li and the Yellow Power Ranger for being South East Asian

Had the upstairs for a private party to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary on 23/04/2023, Bee did an amazing buffet for us, which was commented on by our guests. Also a big thank you to Peter and his staff for looking after us so well. The evening was enjoyed by everyone. Thanks again Debbie & Mark

We were here to celebrate our friends 40th wedding anniversary. Everything was absolutely brilliant. We've visited on many previous occasions and never been disappointed, including a wake. The sole use of the upstairs bar, with verandah is really spacious and well laid out. As you would expect the wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. But the crowning glory was the amazing buffet. Poached salmon, fresh bread, scummy sausage rolls all perfectly presented. The team of staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble - go visit if you get the chance.

Staff are rude, food was average but not worth the money. You can tell a lot of stuff comes frozen and nothing is fresh or locally sourced. When questioning wine staff seemed to have no clue on it. What’s the point in it being a wine room if your staff have no clue. Also very slow service and no one seems organised.

We’ve been to The Wine Room for drinks a few times and last night we decided to try the food, and we definitely didn’t regret it. The food was absolutely delicious, we went for the chorizo croquettes, sticky pork bites, pan fried aubergine, slow roasted ox cheeks and the warm focaccia. Everything was cooked perfectly, the chorizo and ox cheeks were as good as we’ve ever eaten in Spain, and the aubergine and pork bites paired together really well. We’ll absolutely be back!!

I have only ever had to complain once before this experience when eating out in over 40 years. We had a Sunday roast for my Father-in Laws 70th Birthday. The Red cabbage arrived sizing 20 minutes before the main event. When that arrived you could not even cut the beef it was that RAW. The vegetables were the same, I was scared to cut them in case they broke the plate. When asked if everything was ok, my shaking NO head was dismissed and my kind family felt embarerssed by my honesty, even though they felt the same. The excuse the beef tasted OFF was it was rare.....RUBBISH....I saw others rejecting plates. In my 58 years on this Earth this was my first meal that was AWFUL and I only ate 25% of thanks to the Yorkshire Pudding. We paid in FULL...We DO NOT do refund..WE DO NOT DO FREE MEAL......WE DO NOT GO AGAIN and TELL the locals NOT TOO

When I first arrived I was greeted by one of the staff members called Emily Thomas who had an astonishing knowledge of wines , paired with her knowledge on cocktails. She was very respectful of us and made sure we was looked after all night. Had a fantastic evening just want to say thank you to Emily.

The place is little and quirky. Staff are wonderful especially Amelia who served us and did the best cocktails! Drinks a little pricy but nice place and would visit again

Booked a table then was asked to leave whilst we were still drinking!!!, complained then offered a table upstairs but we couldn't keep the table all our glasses were on, spent well over £100 on drinks, left with a bad feeling, not a pleasurable experience, would not return

Our new favourite place for food and drinks , have visited several times in the last few months and love the food, especially the homemade pakoras. My only regret is I never visited sooner as I took the name literally and don’t drink wine lol .

Friendly staff but music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talking so we went elsewhere.

We visited The Wine Room as our first meal out since the easing of lock down for my wife's birthday.It was very well organised, well spaced out and following government guidelines which made us all feel safe.The selection of dished on the tapas menu are brilliant and we ordered more than we needed as we couldn't whittle it down, a personal favourite was the lamb keema.The drinks menu is good, especially the wine list and the service was top quality which rounded off a great first visit.We will definitely be back again soon.

A lovely evening at the wine room. welcoming staff , good service & a great menu. really enjoyed the small plates selection. The Spicy Keema dish was delicious, sticky pork bao buns were oh so good & the posh Mac and cheese was perfectly cheesy.Looking forward to the next visit and exploring more dishes soon

I have enjoyed a few lovely evenings here and highly recommend the balcony upstairs for just losing a few hours of time whilst you enjoy a good bottle of wine and watch the world go by.

On friday 13th november I was meeting my date at the wine room. Upon arriving we was seated promptly. We ordered a sauvignon Blanc and a merlot. When the drinks came I noticed a thick black hair in the bottom of my glass. I had sensed on arrival the waiter was in a bad mood but thought nothing more of it. I confronted the waiter who told me I had put it there myself?! By this point his volume had increased and my date was so embarrassed she left. Wont be visiting again.

The wine is obviously fantastic but just wanted to give a big shout out to the food menu! Balance of flavour on the dishes I had was absolute perfection. The goats cheese and beetroot plate is the stuff of dreams! A lovely place for a cosy evening.

Fuimos a almorzar el domingo para dos y pedimos la carne. La comida que nos sirvieron fue excelente. Cocido a la perfección, hermosos sabores y texturas. Nos sirvieron la cantidad perfecta, se comió todo y fue muy satisfactorio. Uno de los almuerzos de los domingos más agradables que he comido.El menú de bebidas es amplio, para todos los gustos: ginebras, vinos, cervezas, licores, cervezas, café y el nuestro se sirvió inmediatamente después de nuestra llegada, ¡lo que importa!El ambiente era perfecto. El sistema de sonido es digno de mención, perfectamente posicionado, a un volumen perfecto, con una lista de reproducción relajante y reflexiva.El lugar en sí es acogedor, cómodo, impecablemente limpio y con mucho carácter.Tomamos bebidas antes, una botella con el almuerzo y ginebra después de la comida.Uno de los almuerzos más agradables que he tenido, una tarde perfecta, con la estrella del espectáculo el almuerzo en sí.

Popped in for a spur of the moment Sunday Roast. The premise looks very nice and the staff were friendly and the service was good. The meal was average at best. We were fairly early, before the majority of customers came in however the food was cold and obviously been stood for some time. The Yorkshire pudding was cold and stale/tough, only warmed by the gravy. The 2cm of carrot, half a dozen green beans and a Fleurette of broccoli were all cooked well. Roast potatoes cold. Meat heated by gravy but cooked well (we had the beef). An oxo cube sized portion of stuffing. It certainly wasn’t value for money at £15.95. Wouldn’t recommend the Sunday Lunch!

One of the first places we returned too. Spotlessly clean as always, name and contact details taken. Felt very Covid Safe. Good choice of wines, had a gorgeous bottle which we enjoyed very very much.

Great local wine bar with a very good range of 🍷 by the glass. Can also recommend the food.

I booked the upstairs room of the wine room for a leaving do and it was the perfect venue. The room is great for upto 50 peeps with plenty of space to sit at tables or to mingle. There's a dedicated bar upstairs and the staff were really friendly and great fun! Would definitely hire the room again and I'd highly recommend the wine room.

I booked The Wine Room for my team's Christmas lunch (30 people). It was a fantastic afternoon and the food was excellent. Staff meals can be a challenging endeavour to please such a large group but I have had nothing but positive feedback. The service was timely, the food was high quality and the service was excellent. Thanks to Debbie, Peter & the rest of the team.

Así fue nuestro trabajo cena de Navidad para 6, pre-ordenado.Nos prometieron una mesa en la habitación de arriba, pero el electricista estaba perforando allí, así que nos dieron una mesa para 6 amontonados entre el baño y la salida de incendios. Esta también era la puerta de la cocina, por lo que permaneció abierta y con corrientes de aire durante toda la comida completa con ruidos de perforación. Pedimos que nos trasladaran, pero nos dijeron que no podían hacerlo. Cero atención al servicio al cliente.Los 2 entrantes estaban bien, pero los platos principales eran de un nivel muy pobre. Las papas asadas precongeladas todavía estaban duras. Se sirvió una cena de Navidad sin budín de Yorkshire y nos dijeron que tenían todos los lados, excepto el arándano, que era muy divertido. ¡La próxima cena llegó con 2 pudines de Yorkshire! Al final de la comida, la camarera dijo que 1 Yorkshire debería haber estado en una cena diferente. Mi comida no era muy caliente, todas las comidas en el mejor de los casos pobres. Cuando cancelamos nuestros desiertos, se nos pidió que los tuviéramos ahora, ya que los habían preparado. Nos ofrecieron una bebida gratis, pero deseamos irnos negociados para no pagar las bebidas que ya habíamos pedido. La peor comida que he tenido en todo el año.

Probé esto por primera vez este fin de semana, la decoración es muy bonita, el balcón es muy tranquilo, muy buen ambiente. Solo tenía bebidas, aunque la comida parecía apetitosa, las bebidas eran un poco caras para un bar local y el caballero detrás de la barra parecía un poco brusco, pero en general, es un buen lugar, definitivamente volveré a probar la comida.

Lindo lugar en la concurrida calle principal de Mapperley Top, excelente decoración de estilo urbano con muchos detalles, inteligente y peculiar. El personal era amable, atento y conocedor de los productos. Permitiendo tiempo para hablar con nosotros sobre el lugar, me encantó la variación en la selección de ensaladeras, una gran idea, sin duda un ganador. Ambas ensaladas son ligeras y refrescantes, el tazón de palomitas de maíz y agua un buen toque. Gran selección de vinos, esperamos poder probar la selección de vinos de todo el mundo y charlar con el chef / sumiller. Observe las próximas promociones en los próximos meses, sin duda nos volverá a ver. Gracias. . . . . .

Esta es la tercera vez que lo visito y puedo ver que esto se convierte en algo semanal.He estado solo por bebidas y también comida.El servicio siempre ha sido excelente. Muy personal y te hace sentir valorado. El personal es muy amable y conocedor de los vinos y hace recomendaciones sin parecer insistente.La planta baja es bastante acogedora, pero hay un montón de espacio adicional en la planta superior, aunque no he tenido la necesidad de usarla hasta ahora.El menú no es enorme, lo cual no es realmente un problema, a menos que seas un quisquilloso como yo. ¡Pero tengo un firme favorito que me encantaría repetir! En primer lugar, felicitaciones al propietario, Pete, por organizar allí la primera fiesta LGBTQ Nottinghams Pre Pride. Definitivamente fue un gran éxito.La zona del bar estaba decorada con mucho gusto y todo el personal y los clientes abrazaron por completo el espíritu de fiesta. Aunque el Wine Room no es un gran bar, su servicio y amabilidad definitivamente lo compensan. El entretenimiento sorpresa que se llevó a cabo en el piso superior Divas Comedy Drag Show fue una gran sorpresa. Sus muchos trajes extravagantes llenaron la sala, lo que definitivamente captó la atención de todos, junto con muchos cambios rápidos de disfraces y muchas rutinas de baile. A veces te olvidarías de que era un hombre.Enhorabuena a la Administración por encontrar a un artista tan original, eso hizo que The Wine Room se sintiera orgulloso y todos ciertamente disfrutaron de la experiencia. Definitivamente sería genial ver a este artista regularmente aquí.Nuevamente, un saludo a todo el personal y la gerencia por trabajar tan duro y organizar una velada tan fantástica.

Great little bar with a friendly atmosphere suitable for both families and groups of friends. I couldn’t of asked for more pleasant surroundings and friendly staff for an overdue catch up with friends. Afternoon tea was not for those with a small appetite. Delicious cheese scones, sandwiches and chocolate cake. Highly recommend a visit.

Really like it here, cosy and fab decor very industrial rustic - prices good for wine and beer not sure I would choose to eat here from the few dishes I’ve seen come out like the Sunday dinner and tapas type bits - my only worry for this place is it’s a very mixed bag of what they do and to make sure that it doesn’t become a pretentious wine bar that want a certain type of clientele otherwise I can see it not lasting - the owners and staff need to treat all customers the same whether they are there friends family or business clientele trying the new menu

Met friends to enjoy a fantastic afternoon tea and drinks at The Wine Room. The decor is on trend and unique for the area. Service was super friendly and the afternoon tea had a great mix of homemade sweet and savoury treats. Portion size is generous and it’s delicious!! Would thoroughly recommend for couples, friends and families, it caters for all!

Just lovely. Cosy, beautiful Torrentes wine (Argentinian) great local independent. Great to hop between here and next door bar Blues Dawg. Mapperley just keeps getting better and better.

Really very good. We’ve been a few times for a glass or two of wine. The range is great and the price is reasonable. We like to sit downstairs and find the atmosphere to be great.

We came across The Wine Room whilst we were biding our time for an appointment and decided to pop in for coffee. Lovely ambience, nice music and chilled atmosphere. Coffee was delicious and reasonably priced; wish I could’ve enjoyed a glass of wine but I was driving! Nice little find.

We had booked a table for 4 as we are 'local' and were catching up with friends. Our friend had been told there was a private party upstairs when they made the booking but we could have a table downstairs. All was well with drinks ordered (I do agree with a previous comment about the price of some of the wines). We had looked at the menu online and had decided before what we wanted. Beef Bourguignon looked good on a windy Saturday night...when asked for our orders we were told the beef was off. With a limited choice on the menu we were 'disappointed'. We did get an apology and admission this should have been mentioned as we sat/ordered drinks. Anyway drinks were finished and we went elsewhere for food. The place itself had a pleasant atmosphere but I imagine it will have to work hard to compete with other more established eateries/drinkeries on 'the top'.

Had the most fabulous evening on Valentine’s Day. Special tasting menu with great food and lovely wine. But what really made this an unforgettable experience were the fabulous staff. The manager, the waiters and even the chef made us feel so welcome and I can’t wait to go back! Would 100% recommend!

I've visited this place twice for Sunday lunch as I live nearby. The food is lovely, the service is good and the wine selection great. They also serve a selection of beers, (including some nice IPAs and Blue Monkey brewery beers) and spirits. I would recommend if you are in the area on a Sunday looking for a nice, relaxed lunch.

A great place to go for a wide selection of wine with knowledgeable staff to help guide you through options. Lovely hearty food which is very reasonable for quality!

So pleased this fabulous place has opened in Mapperley. Just what was needed. Visited a couple of times, once for lunch - super tasting platter of meats, cheeses and olives, and once for drinks. Can highly recommend it. Incredibly friendly, knowledgable about wine and drinks. Can't wait to go for a proper meal next time.

Popped along to The Wine Room to try it out. What a delight great food, great wine and great staff. Not over priced for a place that’s so well decorated. Just whats needed

It was the first time in with friends , pleasant staff and offered us water on the table with nibbles, but the wine was a crazy price per glass, to have a popular place on Mapperley top you have to be competitive. Sorry but we won't be calling again. We went over the Road and paid the same for a bottle as we did a glass.
