Waited just inside the door to be seated as the sign instructed. Just one other table eating inside, some outside. Saw waiting staff busying themselves about the place but no-one came to attend to us or say I'll be with you in a minute. Eventually got seated then sat for 10mins waiting for someone to come and take our order but all the staff were ignoring us so we left.

Arrived to a lovely welcoming young lady who promptly found us our seat. Ordered a delicious BLT open sandwich, french fries and Prosecco. Really delicious. I also had a great cappuccino and Bakewell pudding for dessert. Absolutely gorgeous. The location, decor & service were excellent, will be back soon!

Some food was inedible- sausages you couldn’t cut, hard bacon roll, oily black pudding and hash browns. Had to ask for more tea bags to put in to our very weak pot of tea. Forgot one of our breakfasts, got another wrong. The staff were friendly but a little inept. If you position yourself as a ‘boutique’ hotel, have the grace to buy good ingredients rather than the cheapest.

We went for lunch I had a chill jacket potato and salad very overpriced and very little chilly just a spoon full my husband had an expensive fish chips that was small.My other friend has also had a what she thought was a small fish and chips but both was changed as large ones. My other friend othered a pizza that came after we had finished ours. The manager did not charge us for the pizza as we said it was too late the manager took it back. He also gave us a discount of 20% and told us we could choose a couple of cakes. One plate had a long hair mixed in with the cakes The other 2 we chose was awful dry and tasted horrible. The only thing that was nice was a glass of wine and my friend lager was ok but My husband beer a shipyard was too cold. It was supposed be a room temperature. I would not go again as my bill was £42 and my friends was £20.

Have been twice now for a meal (once in December when Bakewell was all lit up very prettily for Christmas) and once in June. Food and atmosphere spot on both times. We both had steak and chips, and Bakewell pudding. The steak was a good steak, perfectly cooked and the Bakewell pudding was gorgeous! Such a good meal that we’ve had exactly the same the second time round! The staff were friendly and helpful both times and we left feeling like we’d had a lovely evening. Will definitely return! Rubbish food and even worse service. I think I should have walked away when the table next to me asked for the third time for the cream for their cream scone and the table on the other side, full of Muslim women, had to send back their meals due the the addition of pork they had expressly said they didn’t want. However with two hungry children I pressed ahead. After looking for over 20 minutes I was told they had lost their allergy matrix and no longer had one. I was advised I could eat the bread cobs but not the bread and so I ordered a sandwich on a bread cob. Another on my table order the ‘home made’ onion soup and another a breakfast cob. A very long wait later I was brought a rather sad looking sandwich on the very bread they had told me I couldn’t eat. The sandwich that later came out on the bread-cob was much sadder! As I ploughed through my tasteless sandwich I was thankful I hadn’t ordered the soup. The other member of my party got to the bottom of the bowl to find a big lump of undissolved powder - clearly home made soup simply meant adding water. All in all a terrible meal with terrible service. I will note that the woman who came towards the end to bring our bill was the highlight of experience.

Excellent Service. Visited on glorious summers day whilst visiting the Peak District with the kids during the summer holidays. We were walking by and decided to enquire if they had a table for myself, hubby and 2 x kids plus the dog. Although busy they could not be more accommodating. We We shown to a quiet table inside. Dog bowl 🥣 containing water given for the dog. Decor was really tasteful. Staff appeared as though they were one big happy family. Sorry my review is so late... but I have only just come across their details again! Will definitely visit again this year.... it also looked like a beautiful spot for an evening meal too.

Poor start from when we walked in ,we went greeted ,just asked how many of us which was five stood in front of the lady,she then walked off and after 5 minutes from otherwise of resteraunt pointed at us to come down and get seated,the young man who took order was polite and professional . What we ordered was H burgers to be told after order no Beef burgers left so we went with chicken ,which turned out to be 3 strips of spicy chicken in a burnt brioche bun with a slice of plastic cheese,Fish and chips were however very good ,but the steak and ale pie was only edible from the inside ,unfortunately for the prices asking I would expect better quality of food not a Toby carvery not a rwo for 1 offer for £10 never mind near £100 cost .

We came here a few months ago and it was lovely so we came again and this time we were disappointed. The service wasn't great, we waited 15 minutes to have our order taken, 20 minutes for our drinks to be brought to us (soft drinks in bottles, so nothing difficult). When the food came ( 2 pizzas and a scampi) the chips for the pizzas didn't come with it. We waited 5 minutes for one portion of chips and had to ask for the other portion which was another 5 minutes. The pizzas were amazing (according to my son's) and so were the chips (they should be at £4 a portion!). The scampi was not, £16 for 9 small pieces of overcooked, dry, crispy scampi and a handful of chips. It wasn't as if the place was busy, there were empty tables and plenty of staff. It was disappointing after our great experience last time

Good food, great service. A young gentleman, Alex, made me feel very welcome. If you are in the area I would highly recommend

£15 charge for breakfast so we expected a good quality breakfast. Basic fruit on offer, sausages and eggs over cooked, other parts like warm. Apparently, the restaurant is not part of the hotel, even though it is in the hotel and has the same name.

Had the sharing ploughman's platter it was amazing we really enjoyed it..lovely staff and service...thank you .

only went in the cafe... food normal fare but tasty 2 bones to pick crockery chipped badly in use do not like dogs at my side whilst eating unsure if to call again, as so many eateries in Bakewell

This is a fantastic place. We called in after seeing their sign for stone baked pizza and we're so pleased we did. The place was lovely and clean and well set out. The staff were lovely and friendly, even though they were busy. We ordered 2 stone baked pizzas with fries and a jacket potato. The food arrived quickly and was freshly prepared. The pizzas were big and covered in toppings. The jacket had been properly baked in the oven. The fries had the skins on and were well seasoned. It all tasted amazing. £50 for three meals, two sides and three drinks was very good value. We will definitely be back.

We never stayed at the hotel but we did eat our lunch here we explained our special dietary issues which was OK I ordered a jacket potato plan with salad my daughter ordered gluten free sausage and chips they brought the food out no cutlery then someone came running out saying we've given you the wrong sausages left my food going cold because I had no cutlery I started eating my food with a teaspoon that I got with my coffee eventually they brought my daughters food out they had just scrapped the chips off the contaminated plate and it looked awful compared to the original plate the sausages were pathetic compared to the original and it certainly wasn't worth the £16.50 when you could of had a steak for the same price

We had the full English and it was one of the best we have ever had. All the produce was fresh and local and all the food on the plate was high quality. The staff were very kind and attentive. We will definitely be visiting again.

Called in here after visiting on a day trip from Lincoln. Was greeted at the door by an waitress and seated by the window with my husband.
