Had a lovely hot roast pork sandwich, it was obviously all homemade and the stuffing was one of the best I’ve tasted , been a few times on my visits to bakewell with my wife and couldn’t recommend it more highly

Came across The Bakewell Pudding Parlour by sheer luck what a jewel in a crown fantastic food friendly and very informative staff will most definitely be returning when back in the area.

Fabulous cake shop in Bakewell village selling traditional Bakewell tarts and Bakewell puddings - staff cheerfully explained the difference. Bought huge chocolate brownies and Bakewell flapjacks (who knew that was a thing?) - decadent and delicious. And they have a post a pudding service!

The fruit cake was VERY GOOD HERE. I bought 4 slices. Looked like it was coloured with saffron. Crammed with fruits and huge Glacé cherries. RECIPE PLEASE!!!

Came in bank holiday Monday to try the famous Bakewell Pudding. I was surprised to see how organised the four girls were who were serving, as there were queues out of both doors, but we got seen to promptly. The girls were so professional and knowledgeable, a credit to the company! Can definitely say we will be back soon!

Popped in as the original bakwell shop ignored us for lunch and so glad we did. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious and great value. Service was quick and friendly. We will be back

Bought a Bakewell tart. It cost over £7. Pastry a bit soggy, filling dry and tasteless. Maybe the puddings are better. We won't be risking going back there to find out. You would think that the people of Bakewell would know how to bake their tart properly!

Was a nice little place, we had already had bakewells from the old original shop but when we walked pass and see they were bigger and cheaper we couldn't not get more. And the hot roast pork was good.

Picked up a Bakewell pudding to take home after a visit to Bakewell. Was dry and tasteless, totally lacking in any moisture. I'm surprised they sell any. Three quarters went in the bin.

Opinions on the Bakewell tart really split the family, almost ruined the holiday. Lovely subtle flavour, recommend pairing with longley farm single cream.

We stumbled upon this particular Bakewell pudding shop after not being able to get one from one of the other shops that we regularly visit. We were pleasantly surprised and loved the flaked almonds underneath the icing on the cherry Bakewells they sell here, so we always make it a regular visit when we’re in Bakewell. I’ve given 3 stars as the service received is never great, it’s always lacking a smile or a friendly welcome. Todays visit was topped off by being served by a (very) young guy who was as mediocre as expected with this place but there was another young girl working in the background and she literally pulled him away from serving to laugh with him and he joined in. It was so weird. I was half way through paying when he got pulled away and the 2 of them just started sniggering together with their backs to the counter and customers, so I just left my money on the side took my items and left. It honestly was the most rude/strange service I’ve ever been unfortunate enough to receive. Hopefully next time there may be new staff members who know how to provide wonderful customer service and not these pair of immature teens.

This place is a scam, the price of these are extortionate!! £7.50 per Bakewell!! and what’s worse is that they are completely dry and artificial tasting. Way better with Mr Kipling, if you want it fresher and cheaper.

Recently popped into the bakery while on a trip to Bakewell and was extremely surprised with how good the Bakewell tart tasted and was presented throughly enjoyed it would highly recommend it to anyone else

Food was really nice, fresh ingredients and quite filling. The cakes were lovely and great price for the size of them. Service was a little slow but there was only one lady working the till but she was very lovely. There's no seats in side and some tables outside if the weather is nice. Overall lovely place to grab a quick lunch to take away

Nice service, atmosphere - no places to sit inside. Cakes and cookies, I do not recommend them, they are insignificant. Bakewell pudding And a few others that we tried were inedible. I'm sorry. I don't recommend it.

The Bakewell puddings here are made on the premises and are truly excellent. A completely different experience from the factory made products sold by bloomers just round the corner.

I don’t say this lightly, as I’ve always bought bloomers, but I think this was possibly the best bakewell pudding in bakewell!

So went in this afternoon, ordered 3 filled white cobs (prawn, tuna, ham), Bakewell pudding and other treats. The guy couldn't wrap up our sale quick enough. No room to order in a steady manner. What we received was a Bakewell tart.. not a pudding and the cobs are just meh ... I lived in Bakewell and used to go to this shop for a sarnie(cob) and they were FILLED! Salad almost falling out, plentiful filling to go with it. What we received today was a dry, unbuttered roll that wasn't white roll, was a wheat mixed seeded rolls and pitiful amount of filling. Absolute fail with everything we ordered... How did it become this bad? . Honestly I kid you not Subway what you order you get and they are filled! Please up your game!

It’s an amazing place to go to because it’s one of the best places to buy a Bakewell pudding in Bakewell. It was a lovely experience purchasing items from here but it is always cramped due to how busy it is. However, I do believe there should be a better and more organised system in place to anticipate the influx of people. If there was better queue and customer management, it would feel like more of an enjoyable experience.

Just had the best pork, stuffing and apple sauce cob ever! Great value for money and the staff were friendly and great. Many thanks we will be back again!!

Came in for a traditional Bakewell pudding (when in Rome as they say!). Lots of choice available and had difficulty choosing which one we wanted as we were spoiled for choice. Eventually we opted for the original pudding which has the lovely star design. Not the cheapest food, but very delicious, and very naughty on the waistline I would imagine! I also had a chocolate granite as I hadn't had one in donkeys years, which brought me right back to school dinners! So glad that they do those.

Best spot in Bakewell for cakes and treats! Staff were very friendly and helped us pick out a selection of cakes which were all delicious. The chocolate brownie was great and my dad particularly enjoyed the flapjack. We also picked a Bakewell pudding and tart - both were very tasty. We’ll definitely be back!

I was on a day trip to Bakewell last week and a friend recommended this place for their Bakewell pudding. So of course I had to try one. Had I known how much it was going to cost, I wouldn't have bothered. Ow much?? was my first thought!! £5.50 it cost for a small pudding...I was robbed and I didn't enjoy it either. Far too much puff pastry for the exceptionally sweet filling. I'll stick to a Bakewell tart in future.

Called here for a snack as hubby loves buns. He had an enormous piece of iced bakewell and I opted for flapjack as it seemed the least fattening option. I was so wrong as I seemed to have one and a half hefty slices that took me ages to eat. Great value, the only downside being the coffee machine wasn't working , so we had to settle for tea. Would definitely recommend

We've been coming to Bakewell for nearly 30 years to buy Bakewell puddings among other goodies and although we've tried the other shops selling them, the Parlour is still by far the best - !

We've been coming to Bakewell on and off for nearly thirty years and having tried the competition, we still rate the Pudding Parlour as having the best puddings in Bakewell - ! Oh also, from our experience, the staff have always been friendly and helpful - !

Waited over an hour for our very expensive meals and when we finally received the meals they tasted very bland. Definitely had far better tasting meals elsewhere for far less money. Staff miserable and looking fed up, plus manager rude, only one guy was helpful. Appreciate there is shortage of staff but the time we had to wait for our food was ridiculous.

Paid £7.50 for a cheeseburger like this. When the woman at the counter said the price I was like ‘oh, word, must be one of those monstrously sized behemoths of a burgers!’ Instead what I got was this, what I can only describe as the last burger left at a fair that visits town. Absolute robbery.

I bought a few Bakewell tarts here a 2-3 years ago and although quite expensive, the quality was superb. On this occasion it was disappointing. The top of the tart was domed and the centre was like a light but tasteless Victoria sponge. As though someone had decided to cut down on those pesky expensive almonds and substitute with self raising flour. We expect to pay for these things but it should be reflected in then quality. On this occasion I felt like a fleeced tourist.

You have to visit the pudding shop, it's the law that you have to eat a bakewell pudding when you visit Bakewell

We bought a large Bakewell pudding and a Bakewell tart to take home. The whole family thought these were the best puddings they had ever eaten. I will certainly be calling again next time we have family round. They were perfect. The lady who served me was lovely and very helpful x

I was visiting from Essex and some friends local to Bakewell took me here. I tried the traditional Bakewell pudding and I have to say it didn't disappoint! I will definitely pay this shop a visit the next time I come this way

It's ok but the Bakewell Pudding I had wasn't very fresh.

The girl behind the counter was bored and surly with zero customer service skills. After waiting 40 minutes for food I wish I had gone to the chip shop opposite as the chips were undercooked and covered in oil, one of the worst meals I’ve had. The cake I sampled wasn’t much better, tasteless and bland.

Me and my Mum came in to the shop the other day and everything looked so appetising. The staff were very friendly and polite. We bought some sprinkle cake and I have to say it was spot on! Will definitely be returning

Ignorant shop sales man sold us an overpriced pie that wasn't even a Bakewell tart after he finished his phone call, not impressed.

£12 for large iced bakewell tart...was expecting something extraordinary for this price. Very dry and crumbly. Being totally honest a Mr Kipling one is around £2-3 and tastes much nicer and fresher and moist. Totally over rated.

Large, medium, small they really have them all..... Bakewell Pudding that is. Plus the coffee isn't bad.

I visited the shop yesterday as soon as I walked in everything looked delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and the bakers were very helpful guiding me in what I could and couldn’t have due to having a dietary requirement. I have to say the cakes were all excellent will definitely be visiting again :)

The Pudding and tarts were excellent! However, the cost was far too expensive. I know Bakewell is a tourist town. The feeling is that charge the tourest as they can afford it!!

Bakewell bought large size; tasteless barely a hint of almond, dry and jam was so thinnly applied dont know why they bothered. Dont waste your money.

Had time to go on a Diet awaiting the 1 surly person behind the counter to expedite 1 order from the person in front. Was really looking forward to trying a Bakewell Pudding. It was dry, very little filling & moisture in the middle of dry, puff pastry. Almost inedible, threw most of it away & will NOT be repeating the experience..vastly disappointing.

Not open, although it’s on Google as opening at 8am. We stopped off early planning to visit for breakfast. Might be worth updating your opening hours.

I called the shop 12 times over 30 min and nobody answered I parked up & went into the shop. I placed a simple order which they got wrong It took 25 mins to make 2 sandwiches I won’t be using this shop again

Very disappointed. Ran out of baguettes so was given a white cob instead which was stale and hard. Person making the cob did a bad job sliced the roll all the way meaning all the filling fell out into the bag and went everywhere due to a hole in the bag. Brought a packet of crisps aswell costing £1.25 when i went to open the crisps i noticed they were out of date. Dont bother visiting

The shop is really inviting and the cakes looked really nice, so I ordered a sponge sprinkle cake to take away. The girl behind the counter didn’t pick the cake from the display she gave me one which was out of view, wrapped in cling film behind the counter. I didn’t think anything of this until I ate it later….it was disgusting, it was so so stale and the sponge was hard I couldn’t eat it, god knows how long it had been sat there for. Not like the ones on display which looked fresh. Slyly selling old cakes and expecting the customer to pay full price is clearly disgusting and deceitful. Won’t ever be returning here again.

Brilliant place for lovely puddings. I would of brought more of them had they in my opinion not been so pricey. So only got 2 small ones

Served a lovely slice of tiffin with dead flies mixed into the topping. Not that fussy but the young lass behind the counter was totally blasé when I pointed it out to them. Ate around them as I was starving but expected staff to take my complaint a little more seriously. At least she didn’t charge me 75p per extra topping.

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday/market day . Bakewell was busy , even so we had a warm welcome and i enjoyed a vegan bacon sandwich, a rare treat when eating out. The sandwich was piled high. My husband had a bacon sandwich which hadgood quality bacon and plenty of it. We ordered a pot of tea which was a large pot. Even though it was busy we didn't feel rushed out when we had finished. We will visit again and urge you to call in. The cakes also looked good and it was a varied menu

My wife ordered the tray bakes for me online and they are superb as always The way they are presented in the box is visually appealing too

My partner and I were busy exploring Bakewell on a busy Saturday and were looking for somewhere to eat as most places were full we settled upon the pudding parlour for some takeout. My partner had a sausage cob, which we couldn’t really grumble about....

Superb takeaway pizzas, we live in Bakewell & these are the best you will get. Top quality, reasonable prices, good variety. Don’t miss this one, you will not be disappointed.

I visited yesterday and was so impressed by the food snd the service . The food was absolutely amazing, the fish was so fresh and tasted so nice. I had an American with frothy soy milk! It was perfect!! It’s so rare I go anywhere snd the soy milk can be frothed so well! Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and look forward to my next lunch there

I popped in here during a recent visit to Bakewell … I bought a small Bakewell tart and a sausage roll … cost about £6.20 in total … both were very tasty although a bit on the expensive side … Service was friendly

We passed through Bakewell, so naturally wanted to taste the local delights...after spending a considerable amout of money in this shop on puddings and tarts we were really looking forward to sinking our teeth into these treats. What a disappointment...both the pudding and tarts were...

Very slow service, girl looked scared of the amount of people queuing. Took 25 mins to place an order then another 35 mins to receive what I had ordered, shame really, very unorganised despite seeing 4 staff on. Cobs were hard and bacon was only reheated which tasted like rubber. Half of what I actually wanted they couldn't do due to no stock avaliable despite knowing its 6 weeks holidays and people are coming for days out. Also go ushered outside to wait for food where I got speaking to one gentleman and he has been waiting 40 mins. Then got shouted at as was in the shade with my dog as it was beaming with sun to get my food by a little Chinese lady and I hadn't heard her the first time.

Paid £10.50 for a large Bakewell tart - dreadful. Dry, very little jam and tasteless. I would not have called it a tart it was more like sponge base in pastry case.

Disappointing. The cakes and coffee were overpriced and the assistant did not know the selection. I was served carrot cake which turned out to be ginger cake which was stodgy. No satisfactory explanation was given and we felt ignored.

Nice place , great food. This is a great place not just nice. Putting bad reviews can hurt a business, and the sort of reviews I see on here are unfair and unnecessary.

27/10 - lunchtime: staff seemed bored and no iced Bakewell tarts of a small size?

Bought a Bakewell tart with no icing and almond flakes on top. Was extremely disappointed to find the almond flakes were actually peanuts. Not only this is wrong as it is misleading customers (the flavour and texture are completely different), but mainly, it is a massive risk for peanut allergic people, who may buy this with the expectation it only has almonds as Bakewell tarts should do. Not having allergies myself, I did not enquire about this when buying, and do not know whether peanuts would have been declared, but it is wrong to include them in any case.

Hot chocolate really disappointing, lacked any chocolate flavour. Cappuccino my husband said was a very weak coffee and no froth. All drinks were nice and hot though. Fruit flapjack really good but chocolate tart was dry and tasteless. Would have fedback in person but went back to the car with takeout cups and parking ticket running out.

Pudding dry and tasteless, lady who served me seemed disappointed I only spent £3.80. when i asked as to why she wasn't wearing a face mask and she barked at me and my family to wear ours she replied "my choice" spent very little to save face and time and prevent any prolonged contact within the breathing space of the staff member we shot off sharpish. We found as a family the rudeness of the people in Bakewell especially other tourists is disgusting what's more disgusting is that I see no replies from the pudding parlours defending themselves on here. One would have thought that covid would make more people appreciative of life and custom...

Had a drive out to Bakewell and we went to The Pudding Parlour and got a Bakewell tart, vanilla slice, chocolate brownie and chocolate tart, they were all amazing 👏

Although the main business is Bakewell Pudding they also have a large selection of other pastries and cakes. Along with a Bakewell Pudding we also had a huge Rum truffle, very sweet but very good.

A surprisingly delicious original Bakewell pudding was bought here and left me wanting more. Lots of treats on offer making it difficult to choose, but we really wanted to try the unique pudding, so that’s what we bought. Excellent.
