Fantastic food. Massive fish in the fish and chips and gorgeous gravy on the steak pie. Would highly recommend. And lovely service from all foh. Thank you Jacob for the film recommendations and lovely atmosphere.

Disappointing food. Fish and chips looked OK but the batter was undercooked and three of us ate the fish and left the batter. They offered a replacement which we refused and accepted a discount and free coffee. A nice place, not busy on Monday, market day. I am not surprised if this quality of food is regularly served.

Had a fantastic Sunday dinner. Staff were all really friendly & attentive, particularly Oscar. Family & dog friendly, lovely atmosphere& the food was really good.

We received a friendly welcome from Owen who politely accommodated our party of 9 ladies. Lee and Tom kindly organised and served our drinks and Sean served us at the table. The food was very tasty and excellent value for money and the atmosphere was extremely friendly. I would recommend The Wheatsheaf to anyone visiting Bakewell and hope to return in the future. Many thanks to the above mentioned staff.

Delicious food but it took a while considering how quiet it was. Upon arrival we were told bluntly that there was no table service or tabs. We felt that considering how expensive the menu was, we would expect table service and a warmer welcome.

Owen accommodated us during a busy Sunday lunch service even with 5 adults a mobility scooter and 2dogs!!! A lovely warm welcome! (Drinks only for us but the yorkies coming past looked amazing)

Our server Owen was fantastic. It was my mother in laws birthday and he made her so special - would definitely recommend Owen at the Wheatsheaf to anyone x x

Ok, the main part of the pub is really lovely and cosy looking but the other dinner area just felt like an overflow area, dinning hall! Food was basic and over priced really!

We went on a Christmas market day .It was extremely busy. But definitely worth calling in .

Staff were lovely and attentive, Christmas music playing to make a nice atmosphere but the chefs let the place down big time the food was awful. Fries so over done they were hollow inside and really crunchy. My chicken BLT had one tiny slither of rock hard bacon. Kids pizza is just a microwave pizza by the looks of it and my friends £15 pasta I could have made at home in under 5 minutes it was literally just penne pasta peppers and chickpeas! Presented terribly honestly looked like something you’d make at home for a quick easy meal. Really a shame as last time we came here which was a few Christmases ago I remember the food being lovely but it was really rubbish today!

It was busy and the kitchen and bar staff coped admirably.

We visited the Wheatsheaf for breakfast with Santa for the second year in a row. The interactions with santa are fab and so is the food! It’s really reasonably priced and the tables are full of activities as well as the gift from santa! The best breakfast with Santa we’ve been too!

Very nice menu, food is very well presented and is very nice. The services at the bar are slow, and there is no facility to order on an App at the table. Other than this, the pub is fantastic.

Smart decor, comfortable surroundings and very good food. Need we say more.

Had a four day break in Bakewell with my wife....hotel great....The wheatsheaf even better...Shawn the manager and his staff always went the extra mile to make you feel welcome, the friendliest team I've come across....also the food and drinks are just spot on.....made to feel welcome.....thanks again guys, see you when we come back Chris and Susanne x

I had such a great time eating at this pub. All the staff members were really friendly, polite and professional. They were very hardworking and accommodating, checking in on us to make sure everything was good. I was very impressed by their service. The food was also amazing, we ordered fish and chips and ale pie. My fish and chips was HUGE, it’s not a seaside town but fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The batter was crispy and light, wasn’t oily at all. Chips were potatoey and nice. 10/10 The atmosphere was fantastic as well, it was so clean everywhere and loved the decor. Such a beautiful pub. Outside the windows were so scenic as well, enjoyed everything about this place! I’d love to see how the pub looks like in winter with the fireplace on. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area (you should try their food) and will be back very soon!

We visited Bakewell today and decided to treat ourselves to breakfast. We selected the Wheatsheaf Pub and ordered 2 coffees, 1 orange juice, 2 full breakfasts (with an extra egg on 1 of them) and bacon and maple syrup waffles. The staff seemed very disorganised. The 2 coffees arrived but no orange juice after 10 minutes we had to chase it up. After about 20 minutes our breakfasts arrived. The extra egg was not on the plate and the hash browns tasted disgusting as if they had been reheated over and over. To make matters worse the rest of the food was cold, including the waffles. We asked them to reheat it which they did but it was sent back still cold. The meal cost us £40 and was totally disgusting, we will never set foot in this place again. It spoilt our first visit to Bakewell.

We visited on a Monday which is market day but we got a table with no problem. Staff were very friendly and made a huge effort to seat people as they came in. The portion sizes were really generous and what was even better was that kids ate free! The food was some of the best food we have eaten, we would definitely come here again!

Last visited 5 years ago and had an awful meal……5 years later mediocre food that was well over priced and waiting 45 mins for sandwiches is a joke! Wont bother again ☹️

Amazing service - Sean had damn near the whole menu memorized! When my crazy family had random niche questions such as “where was the cheese made” and “what is in this chutney” he was able to answer - and went the extra mile to bring the poor chef over to answer when he didn’t. I also got some dog treats to bring home to America - when I forgot them he tracked me down outside and made sure I had them. Additionally he did a great job keeping my 🍻 filled so dinner with my previously mentioned crazy family went as smoothly as possible. Thank you Sean!!

Having travelled to Bakewell for day out on a coach we decided to go into the wheatcheaf pub out of the pouring rain with us we had two ladies on mobility scooters we were made very welcome by all staff and stayed to have lunch which was very nice and some nice pots of tea thank you so much to all the lovely staff

Friendly staff and served a great ploughman's for my husband. We were all sat so close together with others which was a bit annoying but okay. Children's menu was good and I ordered the chicken pasta which was okay. Felt like a greene king type of place.
