Another great 2nd Saturday afternoon of the month at the Plough. The Panther Owners Club section meeting. We even had several Panthers today. Very friendly staff look after an unruly bunch of bikers with beer or coffee for those riding plus chip butties. Always a great day, thanks go to all concerned. Lesser makes of bike accepted.

I visited to attend a funeral buffet ,this is as traditional as a pub can get . 2 rooms still in the original design . A good beer on tap ,Timothy Taylor landlord , I was led to believe it was the venue for local motor cycle groups including Panther owners. Built in 1745 ,the pub has ladies toilets within but the gents is a unit placed outside in the rear car park. A good village pub.

There's never food on when I go there which is probably just my bad luck but I was starving and it was lunchtime. They have Thornbridge beers which are my favourite and a great place to sit in front and behind.

All the negative reviews before 2021 do not reflect the new owners of The Plough Inn. They have done a very good job running a successful business. They try to cater for all tastes with local ales and popular euro lagers. (Madri) It has a very friendly atmosphere of locals and tourists. I visit Darley Dale from Northamptonshire every other week and always pay the pub a visit. When ever I have guests at my holiday let I always send them to The Plough Inn. Came here Christmas day and New Years eve and it was very busy. A cosy electric fire in the best room if it's cold and wet outside to get warm next to. Dogs are welcome inside. It is a snug pub so you might be sitting close to other boozers. There is a beer garden which showed the Euro 2020 on a giant TV. With seats at the front if you smoke and the sun is shining. Not yet been here when there is a quiz night. Heard it's good fun. Pizzas on the menu but never tasted one. You can pay cash or card. A few stairs to the cubicle toilets. Large car park. If you stay in Darley Dale for the Peak District this is a very good pub to visit. If people give negative reviews then they are being a little precious. It's not the Ritz nor is it a dive.

Vistied 'plough Inn' solely on the fact it was the closest establishment that served food to our current destination. We arrived with a warm welcome. The Bargirl was pleasant and joyful. The owner was a friendly gentleman who's seems keen to maintain high standards. The food was very good. Especially at the price. If you want good hearty locally sourced food and ales, do not hesitate to visit in your in the Derby area. Shame we're over 100 miles away.

Thank you for hosting our wedding party at the plough. You couldn’t have helped us out more when planning the event. The best end was the perfect setting for our informal, autumnal wedding celebration. From organising the event, to the day itself, the staff at The Plough Inn couldn’t have done more to make sure the day ran smoothly. Our welcome beers were sourced from a local brewery, Prosecco was served on arrival along with a beautifully presented graze table for our guests to enjoy as they made their way in. Throughout the afternoon fresh pizzas were served for our guests to grab a slice when they wanted to, with a vegan option to accommodate all our guests. The bar staff were brilliant, attentive and just great fun- they couldn’t have done more! Thank you for a day to remember! P.S the espresso martinis were amazing!

Went to Pie night. Food arrived potatoes and Gravy were cold. Service rubbish, we chose the pie and drink deal, had to keep asking for our drinks. Chose pudding, menu isn't correct, baked cheesecake comes with topping. Hadn't any cream. It wasn't busy, only 2 staff they didn't seem to know how to serve! Won't return. We went on Thursday 16th September. We have been in May last year, and enjoyed Prizza.

Arrived at The Plough at 8.50 and was told they had just called last orders. The 4 of us managed to get a drink and then as other people arrived and asked for drinks we managed to get a second round. At half 9 they were turning people away, had all the stools stacked on the tables and had turned the outside lights off. Just before 10 they fetched all the umbrellas in and asked us to drink up and go at bang on 10. Just found the atmosphere unfriendly and like they were only bothered about shutting and getting rid of the customer. They turned away two groups of customers and a third came only to leave when they saw the stools on the tables.

Charming Cafe it is. The coffee is very good. The photos of table laid with cutlery and napkins and lovely decor enticed us drive out to Monsal Head where we know the views are wonderful to have a light lunch. BUT We sat at a table and although the place was empty ( very rainy outside ) the staff didn’t acknowledge us, say hello even or explain it is counter service only. If you are expecting food, think again. No meals, No sandwiches, No baked potatoes or anything substantial, just a few cakes, savoury pies and sausage rolls Most disappointing. Wasted journey. WILL NOT VISIT AGAIN. Hassop Station nearby saved the day fortunately.

The food was delicious on the first night but on bonfire night, we ordered the greedy Greek platter on Nic’s recommendation and it was excellent! Delicious food, really dog friendly and very welcoming. We’ll be back!
