The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Derbyshire Dales East Midlands

Hard to review as we never got to eat there! I was meeting two friends and booked via the website. I didn’t receive a confirmation so called and left a message on Wednesday. They text back later that day to say all was fine for Friday. We got there and there was a sign in the window saying “closed due to illness”. No communication received via text, email or phone. Not good after travelling an hour to meet up.

Fab cafe! Lots of room, dog friendly, food was lovely and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back next time we're in Bakewell!

Real log fires crackling away, great atmosphere, we were a couple with a dog and treated amazingly. Thank you, will be back a few more times before we go home. Delighted to find this place - it was just what we wanted. We both had decaf capuccinos. My husband had tiffin, I had Bakewell slice. Both just right and prepared us for our walk back to Matlock.

The food was average; my husband ordered medium rare steak- it was medium. The portion of green beans we received was meagre and the peppercorn sauce was so overwhelming with its pepper that it was inedible. The Mediterranean salad was £12 but was a mean portion. The service was ok- but my in laws had to wait for plates to be delivered, and the meals came out in dribs and drabs. Also very expensive for what it was. And to top it off one of the members of staff told a male customer it was ok to use the ladies. One may not see this as a problem, but ask yourself this- when is it ever acceptable for a fully grown man to be in a privately enclosed space with girls and women who have to partially undress to use the toilet? Less than impressed.

Riley gave our 4 additional needs students a brilliant tour of the caves - he was super engaging, they were able to ask questions and make comments and he wasn’t phased at all. Lots of cool stories to share and things to show that they will remember for a long time! The tour was about 45mins-1hour and our boys were engaged the whole time (which is a huge credit to Riley!) highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

Good food. The sea bass with gnocchi was good. Very busy, would recommend making a booking. Loads of parking in front and close by. Market place or the centre is walking distance

Amazing pub, delicious food, friendly staff and in general - wonderful place to spend your time!

We have been twice to Cafe in the Park now for a very filling afternoon tea. It's no frills with well filled sandwiches, crisps and salad, a huge slab of cake and a big scone. Unlimited hot drinks too. Perfect if you don't fancy finger sandwiches. Staff are lovely and well attentive. Will be back again soon!

Absolutely fabulous pub. The steak pie was phenomenal.

I had a lovely meal on Sunday. I had the roast beef dinner which was delicious and we were served by a lovely young man called Sam. 10/10 experience will be returning in the near future

This was our 3rd visit on the trot for Mother's Day afternoon tea, and it didn't disappoint. Delicious selection of sandwiches and homemade cakes. The coffee is really nice too. Will definitely return!

Friendly, family-run place. Pleasing food. Felt a teeny bit dated - not sure about the radio blaring Radio 2, and a slight pivot towards coffee etc and the addition of a couple of sofas might generate enough local custom to stay open Tues-Thurs. But a good place and good food.

Popped in for a lunchtime drink, in this very lively and friendly bar. Well worth a try.
