Riley gave our 4 additional needs students a brilliant tour of the caves - he was super engaging, they were able to ask questions and make comments and he wasn’t phased at all. Lots of cool stories to share and things to show that they will remember for a long time! The tour was about 45mins-1hour and our boys were engaged the whole time (which is a huge credit to Riley!) highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

Loved our visit to Poole's Cavern in Buxton. There was an Easter egg hunt inside the caves which was a lovey activity to keep the you get visitors engaged. All the guides were friendly & so knowledgeable about the caves, their history, & the geology over time. Great experience, is a real shame some visitors cannot seem to listen to instructions regarding the overall health and safety & protection of the site. Poole's Cavern is an SSSI site ( Site of special scientific interest) and rules are to be adhered to for the safety of everyone & the preservation of the caves 👍

Well worth a visit, the stuff found in these caves over thousands of years like roman coins, etc, makes u wonder what they themselves were looking for and what they found. There's still so much to be uncovered with caverns still covered in there that makes u wonder why it hasn't been all looked at more closely.

The guided tour is very interesting there's a lot of history in this natural Cavern from Romans to Mary Queen of Scots and medieval grafiti. We loved visiting Poole's Cavern with the kids. It's in a pleasant location on the edge of woodlands where you can combine your visit with a decent walk. There's a cafe but also picnic facilities (there's a dry indoor area for this even on wet days). The cavern system itself is very impressive, particularly when lit up for Christmas as it was during our visit. You go 300+metres underground but they are apparently trying to open up a route further into even bigger caverns up to 2 miles in! It's about 7 degrees Celsius inside so wear warmish clothing. It took us about 50mins to see the cave but could be done much quicker than that. There's a cafe and shop as well as toilet facilities. They provide either a hard copy of the cave information on entry or you can download it with a QR code (both free). The car park was fine and not too expensive, you can pay contactless at the machines.
