Takes around 20-40m to see everything, make sure to wrap up warm and to bring a hat. Went on a self guided walk and made full use of the guides situated within the cave. Their knowledge and passion really comes through (chap with long hair/beard, older chap, and a lady called Ang?- sorry I didn't get everyone's names) made the trip worthwhile- they truly are an asset to the company!

I'm a bit claustrophobic and have vertigo going on, so I was a little apprehensive. The caverns were massive, and the safety rails were good, so everything turned out well. My dog thought was great and never stopped wagging his tail, which is unusual as he's a miserable so and so. Wheel chairs could only get so far but worth a visit in my book.

This place is just so beautiful. Wasn't expecting the caverns to be so big and full of so much history. But what really makes it so special is the staff. So lovely and kind and they went out of their way to make the day extra special for our son who has extra needs. Our tour guide Martin was so knowledgeable and so lovely and patient with our son. We really had a wonderful day out. Cannot recommend enough. They also have a lovely gift shop and cafe on site and dog friendly too. We will definitely be back.

The guided tour is very interesting there's a lot of history in this natural Cavern from Romans to Mary Queen of Scots and medieval grafiti. The Cavern has a underground river that dries up in the summer but rushes down through the cavern to emerge in Buxton near Pavillion gardens as a tributary to the river Wye.

We loved visiting Poole's Cavern with the kids. It's in a pleasant location on the edge of woodlands where you can combine your visit with a decent walk. There's a cafe but also picnic facilities (there's a dry indoor area for this even on wet days). The cavern system itself is very impressive, particularly when lit up for Christmas as it was during our visit. You go 300+metres underground but they are apparently trying to open up a route further into even bigger caverns up to 2 miles in! It's about 7 degrees Celsius inside so wear warmish clothing. It took us about 50mins to see the cave but could be done much quicker than that. There's a cafe and shop as well as toilet facilities. They provide either a hard copy of the cave information on entry or you can download it with a QR code (both free). The car park was fine and not too expensive, you can pay contactless at the machines.

There are walks in the woods too and a shop/cafe at the entrance/exit if the cavern. Great trip out and highly recommend. The cavern has a very well paved route from start to end, with water flowing through beneath you, adding to the atmosphere, along with interesting stalectite and stalecmite formations. Enjoyed an excellent, informative and engaging tour of the cave system. Our guide was entertaining and enthusiastic, provided interesting insights to both the social as well as geologic aspects of the caves. The caves are relatively small and only takes about 45mins to view. The cost however was £20 per adult which we felt was a bit steep. I guess that charge is what is needed to keep the place going so fair enough I guess.

We visited Poole's Cavern during our holiday in the Peak District. We found the guided tour very interesting and we even got to see a single bat sleeping inside the cavern. Our tour guide pointed him out to us. Our tour guide was a lovely lady who was very knowledgeable. Poole's Cavern is the first cavern that I've been in during my lifetime that was natural and not man made.... Poole's Cavern hasn't been mined like all the other caverns in the Peak District. After our tour of the cavern we enjoyed a hot drink and a lovely piece of cake in the on-site cafe. Before heading back to our holiday cottage we went for a nice short walk in the adjoining woods. Had the pleasure of returning to this delightful country pub with family for a Sunday roast. We received a friendly welcome and the pub was cosy and warm with a roaring log fire. We went straight for the main course and from the selection offered we chose the beef and pork both of which were excellent. Our plates arrived laden with roast potatoes, dauphinois potatoes, roast parsnips, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Our lovely waitress then brought out the vegetables - carrots, green beans, sprouts and red braised cabbage. The meal was delicious and the quantity of food plentiful. The only downside was that we didn’t have enough room for dessert so opted for coffees. Looking forward to returning again in the near future. Thank you to Rob and his Team.
