Brilliant trip out. We've been wanting to come here on previous trips up here but with the dog it's been hard so it is wonderful that it is now a dog friendly attraction! It was more spacious than I thought inside and our guide today was fantastic - he was knowledgeable and we found it interesting. There is just so much to see it was fascinating. There are walks in the woods too and a shop/cafe at the entrance/exit if the cavern. Great trip out and highly recommend. Do book in advance if you have a dog as they limit it to 6 dogs per tour so worth booking if you are planning to take your 4 legged friends with you

Great day out for all the family. Poole's cavern has a rich geological and anthropological history. The cavern has a very well paved route from start to end, with water flowing through beneath you, adding to the atmosphere, along with interesting stalectite and stalecmite formations. There is a lovely woodland also on site with beautiful carvings along the designated trails and only 30 minutes from Solomons temple. A brilliant vantage spot to look out over all of buxton. Very friendly and informative staff on site at the visitor centre and cafe there. Car parking, with reasonable prices.

Enjoyed an excellent, informative and engaging tour of the cave system. Our guide was entertaining and enthusiastic, provided interesting insights to both the social as well as geologic aspects of the caves. The caves are relatively small and only takes about 45mins to view. The cost however was £20 per adult which we felt was a bit steep. I guess that charge is what is needed to keep the place going so fair enough I guess.

We really enjoyed our visit to Poole's Cavern. We were fortunate to be in a small group for our tour (only 4 of us), which might have helped. The guide who took us around the caves was very knowledgeable and engaging. After our tour had ended we saw him outside and he was happy to give us information about the surrounding park and the marked walks in it. We visited Poole's Cavern during our holiday in the Peak District. We found the guided tour very interesting and we even got to see a single bat sleeping inside the cavern. Our tour guide pointed him out to us. Our tour guide was a lovely lady who was very knowledgeable. Poole's Cavern is the first cavern that I've been in during my lifetime that was natural and not man made.... Poole's Cavern hasn't been mined like all the other caverns in the Peak District. After our tour of the cavern we enjoyed a hot drink and a lovely piece of cake in the on-site cafe. Before heading back to our holiday cottage we went for a nice short walk in the adjoining woods. A nice day, shame about the cold, damp weather. I would highly recommend visiting this cavern, family and dog friendly 🙂

Amazing place and inclusive/acommodating for disability. We wanted to take our children to a cave but most in the area were long guided tours and not very aware of supporting the needs of neurodivergent people. The self-guided tour at Poole's Cavern was perfect for us! So many amazing features to see, but it does not feel claustrophobic and the stairs and handrails make it easier to walk through. It exceeded our expectations and the staff were very friendly. I noticed that they offer SEN sessions and the cave is partly accessible to people using wheelchairs too. It's a good place to take younger children if they will not cope with difficult conditions of other caves or walking/climbing long distances. Highly recommend!

First time visiting today after we looked online for caves to visit for a day out. I brought my 2 children and our dog and we all had fun. I thought the price wasn’t bad for a tour of the cavern, and £3 to park all day was great. We enjoyed the walk (albeit quite wet from the rain in the end) to Solomon’s Temple. We didn’t book a guided tour and so it was a bonus to have helpful guys in the cavern to help us spot things from the info pack and to answer questions. The cafe food was great and well priced too.
