I’m an infrequent visitor to this pub (about three or four times a year when passing through on my narrowboat.) I love it. The staff (and locals) are friendly and welcoming. The beer is kept well. I was disappointed that they were not serving food on a Wednesday evening. Having said that they provided me with a takeaway menu for an Indian restaurant which they recommended and provided me with a plate to eat from. Smashing. Thanks - will see you next time I pass through.

Delicious food, generous portions. The batter on my fish goujons was incredible and the ox cheek mains fell apart. Great service too from the staff (Josh). My only niggle was that there were not many dry gins available, but it wasn't a huge issue. Also they allow dogs. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely shocking!!!.would not even give this place one point. Went in for lunch on Tuesday and what can I say!. Disappointing is a complete under statement. To start quite a few things on the menu were not available!!. I decided to go with the Sunday lunch option and the person with me the cottage pie. As a starter we both had pork belly in some sort of sauce. Having sampled plenty of food in my lifetime I know what decent to great food is and this place was nowhere near. After wating well over 45 minutes for the starter it finally arrived. Not only was the pork extremely fatty but Also seem a little undercooked not to mention the sauce was far too overpowering. Then the mains which we both only ate half of it that. The Sunday roast was definitely left over food from that previous Sunday.nothing tasted fresh and the beef was like chewing through leather. The other main the so called cottage pie did also not appear freshly prepared. Rather a mix of warmed up food!!. To be honest we would either have Been better paying a bit more and eating somewhere more decent or simply cooking at home as the so called chef there clearly does not know what he is doing!!. Avoid at all costs.!!!!!!

As well as the tempting cakes, bread and delicious mince pies in the shop downstairs, the cafe upstairs is a lovely place for brunch. Some really delicious items on the menu and very friendly, efficient service. There’s often an art exhibition on too, currently amazing artworks by local artist, Andy Walker.

Had a great Bell burger and beer was lovely. Due to change hands soon. Will see what happens, but for good pub grub and cool real ales you can't go wrong.

My wife and I stayed one night at The Dyvels in September 2024 while exploring Hadrians Wall on our way back to York. We were both really pleasantly surprised by how charming the Inn is. Corbridge is a lovely little town with, obviously, ancient history. None of that charm has been lost gladly. Dyvels is a small cozy pub with 5 lodging rooms and a tranquil garden, but the best part was the food which was WAY better than a small pub in a small Northumbrian town has any business being.  We had dinner, fish n chips for me, and a chicken dish for Mrs M. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, but with such incredible flavour. It was bone fide fancy restaurant quality, not pub grub. Full Northumbrian breakfast next morning was huge, tasty and set us up proper for a long drive. It was a really quiet Wednesday when we were there. No other lodging guests and a small handful of locals in the pub, so service was super quick. It was really quiet and relaxing, enjoying the fresh air dining out in the garden. Had a little chat with the bar staff. Very friendly, but not particularly talkative; shame as I always like to chat with locals when travelling to get a sense of life in another part of the world. Our room was really spacious and comfortable. Slept really well in the big soft bed with loads of pillows. Window opened over the garden and sports fields beyond, so a really pretty view. Bathroom was clean and everything worked. Lots of plugs to recharge our devices. For the price it was really good. Overall I'm really glad we chose to stop at Dyvels Inn and Corbridge. It's a fantastic little corner of our brilliant little island. I'd love to spend more time here. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys history, good food, fresh air and the tranquility of wide open spaces.

Superb lunch today at this fantastic country pub. We booked (recommended) and were really impressed with the food and service. Had the special crispy squid with salami salad and brown shrimp with smoked salmon rillette to start - both really delicious. For the mains we opted for the pork belly and fish and chips. The standard of cooking is the best in the area. I’d forgotten my hat and they called to warn me when I was only 5 mins down the road so could go back to get it - much appreciated. Really deserves its pub of the year award. Hope they can repeat it again this year

Soggy fish and extremely poor customer service. A spoiled and expensive dinner, would not recommended. Very disappointed.

Came an hour away to take family out for a meal, food was nice but one waitress was rude when checking ID and pulling faces and being nearly 30 years of age... there was no please or thank you, ruined the atmosphere. Won't be coming here again based on this experience and being made to feel uncomfortable. The other waitress was nice though.

Great coffee and food from full English to cakes even avocado on toast. My son was impressed with the quality and prices. It is quite often packed and quite noisy and many laptops/phones, one customer 4 seats. No easy solution. It’s still my go to cafe. Staff are efficient.

Stopped off here for lunch . The food was great and the coffee and cake excellent . It’s clean and the service was efficient. Just what we needed before a long drive up the West Coast .

Excellent quality bread. Highly recommend focaccia and baguettes. Also basic pastries range pain au chocolat, croissant and palmier every day plus one suprise bake. Later there are often tarts which looks amazing. One tiny niggle the drinks are a little expensive especially a pot of tea at £4.20.
